Excellent and hearty pho noodle soup! I don't need to add anything more. It is packed and you are surrounded by the smell of weed (from the coffeeshop next door), but you just have to put up with that ;-).

Super rude. The attendant almost kicked us out, and he didn’t want to serve any vegetarian dishes. We felt like we were being treated badly. We live in Amsterdam, and it’s such a shame that places treat customers so badly just because it’s a very touristy place.

Food was ok, the pho didn’t really stand out. The dining area is very small and the restroom even smaller, the toilet doesn’t flush and no sink to wash your hands.

Anyone who loves pho HAS to go here. It's incredibly fresh and delicious pho. I've only had the one with beef strips so far, and the meat was tender and flavorful. The place is all street food style, located in a narrow side street, and doesn't exactly offer the most romantic view. However, I'd rather eat the best food in Amsterdam on an ugly street than some rubbish in the most beautiful restaurant. For people sensitive to noise, the very loud party music might be a bit much—reflecting the city's fast pace. At €17 per dish, Pho King is quite reasonably priced, especially considering the generous portions, which can easily keep you full all day without feeling heavy. 10/10 would recommend!!

I've eaten here for two days! Taiwanese people, if you're ever in the area, you absolutely must try it! During my trip to the Netherlands, I visited three Vietnamese pho shops, and this one is my number one! My stomach felt really cold these past few days in Europe without soup… Pho was the only salvation 🧡

Guys this is not authentic vietnamese food. Its a fusion. We ordered bun thit and the beef tasted like curry. Dry and wilted veggies. I got a glimpse of the kitchen and it looked unsanitary back there. The location is sus. Next to the place is rubbish and homeless people. Chopsticks and sauces just sitting in public. The whole place can only sit 19 people max. The menus are dirty. Idk guys, this is a major disappointment. For 2 entree and 2 waters, not worth the money.

Excellent pho! I love this Vietnamese specialty, and this is a great place to stop for a quick break during a trip to Amsterdam to try their freshly prepared soups. It's a bit hidden away in a side street, but the host is very friendly and the service is fast.

Pho King is one of those little spots in Amsterdam that you could easily walk right past, but don’t! It’s a tiny shop tucked away in an alley with maybe 12–15 seats, and the setup almost feels like you’re having a meal in Vietnam. You’re sitting shoulder to shoulder with your neighbors, waiting for a table to open up, which is honestly part of the experience. Once you get a seat, you go inside to order and they bring the food out to you when it’s ready. The menu is simple, but everything is packed with flavor. My son and I both ordered the #1, the combo pho, and the broth might be one of the best pho broths I’ve had in a long time, anywhere. It was rich, flavorful, and comforting without being too heavy. There was also plenty of beef and protein in the bowl, along with fresh vegetables and mint that added a nice freshness and made the whole bowl look colorful and hearty. The portions were generous too. Don’t overlook this little spot because of its size. If you’re craving a really good, no-frills bowl of pho in Amsterdam, give Pho King a try. You might just find yourself wanting another bowl.

super legit pho in the heart of amsterdam. after couple of weeks in Europe my fam and I were in desperate need of some good ol asian comfort food. we kinda stumple upon the place as we were shopping nearby. to be fair we showed up 20 mins before closing and the restaurant told us we need to finish our food in 20 mins. yikes! good thing we are used to slurpin hot noodles lol. the pho tai is legit as they come and i had them all over especially where im from in orange county socal 😎. the pho is a thicker version (as with most of europe pho restaurants) and tend to lean on northern vietnamese style of pho. the soup base is incredible and the meat pieces are tender. a fantastic find indeed. most of the seatings are outdoor and its located in the unassuming alley.

I’m so glad we found this little pho restaurant. It’s a cozy place with around 10 outdoor seats and only two tables inside, giving it a warm and intimate atmosphere. Just a note that they open around 12:30 PM, so it’s worth planning your visit accordingly. The pho was absolutely delicious. The broth was beautifully balanced—rich, flavorful, and naturally sweet without feeling heavy. You can really tell it has been prepared with care. The summer rolls were equally impressive: fresh, light, and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. The only unfortunate part of our visit was that the café next door allows cannabis smoking. Since we were seated outside, the smoke drifted over throughout our meal, which took away a little from an otherwise wonderful dining experience. That said, the food was truly excellent and well worth the visit. I would happily return for another bowl of pho and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, comforting Vietnamese food.

Nice spot in the middle of Amsterdam with affordable prices. We had the Pho King for 18 euros and had 3 different types of meat. Perhaps not the smartest choice to eat Pho in 33 degrees, because sweat was dripping from my body😅. Keep in mind that they have a limited number of seats. A maximum of 14 in total, I think. You order and pay right inside, and not much later they bring it to your table.

The place is tucked in an alley. There’s limited space outdoor and a few indoor counter space by the window. I had their phô with beef. The soup base was surprisingly good. It had very good flavor and not watered down like many places. I really enjoy it. The only thing is that when someone next door at the pub smoke, you can smell it.

One of those authentic places that you thought didn’t exist anymore in Amsterdam. All the focus is on the food, and it shows. The rest is just secondary, as it should. 10/10, go for the Pho (obviously) and a Vietnamese ice coffee to end with.

We chose this small restaurant based on the good reviews and weren't disappointed. The pho and the other dishes were delicious. There were no long waits. We were lucky and got some of the coveted seats relatively quickly. The prices were perfectly reasonable for Amsterdam.

We were shown to our seats, given menus (we got our own drinks from the refrigerator), and ordered and paid at the counter inside. They only have beef pho. There are no toppings, it's already served, but the soup isn't too hot and the toppings stay crisp. The soup is delicious. The service is fast. An interesting aroma wafts from the neighboring restaurants.

Great hole in the wall place. Pho is authentic and flavorful. It's literally a kitchen with a few tables outdoors and maybe counter seating for 2 people indoors. Limited capacity aside, I will stress again that the food is great!

I specifically looked up the restaurant and traveled there based on the posted opening time of 1:00 PM. However, when I arrived, I was told they would not open until 2:00 PM. Following the staff’s instructions, I came back at 1:50 PM, only to find that the restaurant was already full and customers were already being served. Since there were no available seats, I had to go for a long walk and return again at around 3:00 PM before finally getting a table. The food itself was excellent. We ordered two Pho Dac Biet with extra meat, which came to around €50 in total. The pho was very tasty, authentic, and definitely one of the better Vietnamese dining experiences I’ve had. Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by the confusion regarding opening hours and the service. It was disappointing to be told to come back at 2:00 PM, only to find the restaurant already operating and fully occupied before then. Great food and authentic flavors, but the wait time and lack of clear communication left us somewhat disappointed.

When me and my boyfriend arrived to this restaurant, there were already 2 people in front of us queuing up. We were quickly seated and we ordered two very delicious bowls of Pho King noodles. I really recommend this! The broth was very savoury and delicious and the Vietnamese egg roll came out piping hot and delicious also. 10/10 would visit again :)

Though the main speciality of this place is Pho, they also offer vermicelli salad bowls (Bun). I had the Bun Bo (beef) which was a bit odd. The salad greens seemed limp and there were not many fresh herbs. The beef itself, though flavourful, was a bit grey and wet. There was also no Nuoc Cham dressing. A boiled egg made a strange addition. Huge serving size! Just a note - it seems the side street is occasionally (improperly) used as a shortcut for motorbikes. Stay aware!

Highly recommend. Out of all the food I've ever had in my life, this is top three. I expected it to be revolutionary and I was still shocked. We had to wait for about 5 minutes for a seat, but when we were seated, we were immediately presented with a menu and a warm welcome. Naturally, trying out this restaurant for the first time ordains the trial of its signature dish, aptly titled "the pho king". Along with it, I got a side of vietnamese iced coffee, which was also revolutionary in its bittersweet decadence - layers upon layers of flavour, which paired exquisitely with the warm broth in the pho. Upon arrival of the pho, which took about 4 minutes, I was left mesmerised with the rich broth, perfectly braised, juicy beef, and the range of toppings (coriander, spring onions, taugeh, optional sriracha and hoisin sauce on the side). Worth the wait. Tipped ten euros. Would definitely go again. Life changing.

This is a great choice for Asian food when you're traveling. The broth is delicious and the ingredients are plentiful – it's really fantastic! The shop isn't big, and there aren't many seats, but the food is highly recommended. The rice noodles are especially delicious!

I give this restaurant 5 stars because the food was really delicious! The pho was well-seasoned; you can really taste the spices and that the broth is fresh and homemade. It is also a generous portion. The only downside is that it is very small. There are only 8 seats and you sit very close together. Inside, everything is foggy and the smell clings to your clothes and hair. Apart from that, I would come back for the food.

Condiments are also quite limited — only sriracha and hoisin sauce are available on the table. The shrimp fresh spring rolls were rather forgettable — they lacked the usual herbs and fillings, and only came with basic lettuce. I really like Pho soup with beef. It is slightly spicy. When I visit on cold days it usually warms me up. The restaurant is very popular and often there are no seats. I usually eat on the street - it is very cozy inside. In March 2026, Pho soup costs 18e.

I've tried Pho at many places over Europe, but this one still literally is the King. I've only had to wait like once, besides that it's usually quick service and delicious food. My SO, who is vietnamese, also says this is the closest you can get to the original in Vietnam, at least for the places in the Netherlands. Edit: Years later, still as good.
