Pho King in Grachtengordel-Zuid

The soup of pho was delicious. Noodles aren’t fresh ones. Very popular and waited 15 mins or so.

I visited this establishment in December of 2023 and had a terrible experience. I DO NOT recommend this place for Black men and women! I discussed my experience on TikTok however, didn’t think to leave a google review sooner. I can’t attest to the taste of the food as I was never served. I took a solo trip as a gift for myself after finishing chemo and my experience at this restaurant was demoralizing and micro aggressive. I went to have some lunch and was completely ignored while waiting to get my order taken however, two sets of white customers one whom walked in at the same time as me and another afterwards we’re both sat and helped while I was looked through as if I was glass. Being that I’m in a new country I stayed very patient as I assumed it was an oversight however, after 10mins and you’re the only person standing it’s quite apparent. Another customer eating with family felt so bad they attempted to help me get service. After a CUSTOMER intervened I was suddenly seen (mind you the restaurant is the size of a bedroom nor was it crowded there’s no way I wasn’t visible. Finally I was able to see the menu but was told they were out of everything….mind you if that was true why wasn’t it stated previously. I was told more food would be ready in 30-45mins I asked if I could wait at the tables outside as the tables inside were occupied and the woman at the counter immediately said NO but a man in the back said it was okay. However, before leaving a white woman and her daughter who came in after me were helped, ordered and even ESCORTED to their table next to me outside. It was a terrible experience and really shifted my view of Amsterdam I cried in the alley due to the treatment I experienced on a trip I worked so hard for in so many ways! Black people do yourself a favor and don’t visit this establishment!

Tiny restaurant in a small alley. Their Pho is good and tastes authentic. But the only thing is music is too loud.

I ordered the #8 Bun Thit Heo / Pork noodle salad. The portion was huge and the meat was seasoned and cooked well. There was also sriracha and hoisin provided at the table. Could have used nuoc Cham in my opinion. The restaurant is very small so we had to sit outside in the cold which is a shame

I loved this little hole in the wall which pumps out amazing pho - the stock has a rich umami taste which makes it difficult to not slurp straight from the bowl. I also had a couple of spring rolls which were fried fresh. Make sure you have the fish sauce with them.

After entering it feels like you are in Vietnam, small, simple, a few tables and very busy, which makes sense because that pho pfffffff WOW really tasty!!!!!!!!!!

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine and the establishment is tucked away in a small alley way. Shop serves one of the best Vietnamese pho and the broth is superb. Staff are friendly and hardworking. This is a must try especially during this cold and chilly weather. Pair it up with some ice vietnamese coffee.

Service attitude is extremely poor, customers come without paying attention. I'm planning to stop by for a meal and see that the attitude from the beginning doesn't respect the guests, whether it's delicious or not is not yet discussed, but the staff's attitude is like shit, then goodbye. The food in Vietnam is still better, rather than spending money to receive such staff attitude. My boyfriend is Dutch, he called the staff "honey" very politely, the staff was like... and no one wanted to answer, even though at first he asked for the menu in Vietnamese. BAD

I highly recommend the sliced beef pho. The beef is very tender, and the soup is spicy in a good way.

Poking rice noodles come to mind when it's cold. There is a lot of meat in it, so you can enjoy it in harmony with the noodles! The advantage is that the spice flavor is not strong and can be enjoyed mildly. The seating inside is small, but if it's not too cold, you can enjoy it at the outdoor tables!

The pho and spring rolls are to die for 😫♥️ And I am absolutely super extra picky eater. XD

Pho King in Amsterdam is an absolute disappointment and not worth your time. 🚫🍜 The place is tiny—there’s barely enough space to sit, and the hygienic conditions are far below Amsterdam standards. Shockingly, they don’t even provide a place to wash your hands before eating—can you believe that? The menu is a cheap, poorly patched-up arrangement covered in plastic, giving off a shady vibe. To top it off, when we asked for tap water (a basic right in Amsterdam), they insisted we buy a €3 bottle instead. The Indian man at the counter even had the audacity to say, “This is Amsterdam, deal with it.” With such poor service and shady practices, I can’t recommend this place to anyone. Easy the best pho you can get in Amsterdam…

Finally found a decent pho spot in Amsterdam, though it came with a few quirks. Started with goi cuon for €8.50, followed by a pho priced at €17 for a relatively small bowl. The broth was flavorful and had depth, exactly what I look for in good pho. However, they pre-added the vegetables and black pepper, which is a big no-no for me. Part of the pho experience is adjusting it to your taste: adding fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and a bit of lime at the table. Pre-seasoning, especially with black pepper, interferes with that personalization and can overwhelm the broth. Despite that misstep, I enjoyed the bowl overall. The flavors were satisfying and well-balanced, though for the price, I'd expect a bit more respect for the traditional way of serving. Still, it’s the best pho I’ve had in Amsterdam so far.

Super tasty Pho - definitely try it. The menu is small and the focus here is mainly on the Pho - it tastes just like we know it from Asia. Holiday feeling in the middle of Amsterdam!

Back in Vietnam: including friendliness, sitting on small stools, loud music and, above all, a large kettle of steaming, spicy pho. Don't go there when you want to dine, definitely go there when you want the tastiest pho.

I ordered 8 beef bun. It's awful. Beef tastes like cooked long time ago and I saw them put the beef in the microwave oven to heat it. The taste in general is awful.

Fresh roll, shrimps and bed pho are my favorite. It is one of my first stops when I come to Amsterdam.

Pho King serves some of the best authentic Vietnamese food in Amsterdam! The broth is incredibly flavorful with a rich, beefy taste, and the noodles in the hot soup are just perfect, especially after a heavy night out or when you need something to warm your heart. The location is great—right in central Amsterdam, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. The shop may be small, but we didn’t mind sitting outside at all, as the food made it totally worth it. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving some amazing pho!

As Vietnamese, Pho King is the most authentic phở you can find in the Netherlands. Love their broth and the proportion is right. The space is bit small and cramped, but very central. At the end of the day, you come here for an excellent steamy phở bowl👌🏼

Very authentic and small place. One of the most delicious noodle soup I have ever had!! Huge soup, full of tatse and textures. We ordered the slices beef, they served it raw inside of the soup and it cooked in it, leaving the beef tender and super tasty. The egg rolls where absolutely amazing!! Highly recommended

I can not say I am very frequent visitor to this street food in Amsterdam, but I have had more than 5 times eating here in the past. This August was different, however! The broth was cloudy, not clear, not fragrant as it should be for this signature dish. We thought, the color and taste of the broth was like it had been reheated, not fresh. The spring rolls were huge and rolled very loosely, when we took the first bite, all the vegetables inside fell out, the dipping sauce did not have any taste of spring roll dipping sauce. After many times coming here for lunch, the quality of the food this time made us disappointed!

It's really delicious, but there's a hemp store next door ;;;; It's almost like hemp rice noodles, but the meat is really soft and delicious... . I applied hand cream under my nose and tried everything, but I can't stop the smell of marijuana. It tastes really good, so keep that in mind!

For a small alley restaurant, they bring the quality and flavor. Top notch phó and the egg rolls are fresh and delicious. No need to look elsewhere for phó, just do yourself a favor and eat here.

Authentic and loud. This is how you imagine a Pho-King on the side street. €17 isn't exactly cheap, but the pho is authentic and the service is friendly. You have to have been there.

We were excited to have found this spot. The place is very tight which reminded me of street foods in Vietnam. The bathroom has no sink fyi. We ordered two pho Bo vien which came with lots of Bo vien unlike most places we went to in Europe. The broth tasted good. I was wolfing the food until I found a piece of the blue plastic glove in my bowl. I also noticed staff don’t change gloves after they use the toilet, moved chairs and wiped tables, and one took the trash out.

Quite enjoyable! A shame that they don’t sell beer but everything was amazing. Paid around 30€ for the spring rolls, Pho King and a bottle of water. Small sitting inside and just few tables outside, loved the vibe.

I can’t bear to give too few stars to the boy wearing glasses. He is very nice, but please note that if you order rice noodles and beef soup, you rarely have to tell them at the beginning. Otherwise, if you want to add soup later, it will cost 2.5 euros. Although I told them They said that my beef pho soup was very low when I first came. The male waiter with glasses helped me tell the chef, so I didn’t pay the extra 2.5, but I was a little concerned about it, but the boy with glasses had a very good attitude. , still gave him three stars. The environment is very poor. It is located next to a small alley in the cinema. It is a bit dirty and messy. Today I picked up a delicious Pho at Pho King in the Regulierssteeg, a super small shop with 3 tables inside and the open kitchen, and a few tables outside, really Vietnamese, you can't get better than that! And the Pho is delicious, I ordered the “Pho King”, after not waiting too long it was ready, everything neatly packaged separately so that you can put everything together yourself at home and you have a super fresh, well-filled Pho! Enjoy, they will definitely see me again!

The seats are limited and it gets pretty cramped when it's busy BUT you will not find a better pho place than PHOKING in Amsterdam, in my opinion

10 out of 5 if possible. Absolutely recommended. If there is no more space, it is worth waiting. Service is super friendly. The food is to die for. I'm Vietnamese and I can cook pho myself because my mom taught me. But this pho is on a whole other level. If we travel to Amsterdam again, it will be our first destination there!

The soup of pho makes you feel thirsty after having the whole bowl, probably because too much MSG is used.

Not recommended if you don't like thick noodles. They add a lot of pepper, but it's easy to get sick if you eat it incorrectly. It's not tasty enough to warrant a wait, and you'll probably get drunk from the smell of marijuana while you wait.

I’ve been coming to this place many times and the pho is consistently great! However, for a second time now it has happened that the opening hours are misleading. It says open from 12, but when I came at 12:30 they told me to come back in an hour. This is a bit sad since I love this place! Hope they can update their opening hours to avoid this.

Pho King in Amsterdam delivered an excellent dining experience. We started with the summer rolls, which they interestingly refer to as spring rolls in this restaurant. They were delicious, setting the stage for the main course. The pho that followed was, without a doubt, the best pho I've had in Amsterdam. The value for money is exceptional, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

The rice noodles are really rich and delicious. When you sit outside, you can smell the musty smell from the coffee shop next door, but the rice noodles are delicious so it's worth it.

This was absolutely amazing pho. Don't know anything about authenticity, but to me it was delicious. You even get sauces like sriracha and hoisin to spice it up. Many reviews praised the spring rolls as well , we sadly didn't get to try them because the pho was a huge portion and we were stuffed! It's not the most romantic setting as the restaurant is located in a scetchy allyway, the food is worth it though. Get there on time as the restaurant has very limited seating and only two tables inside. The toilet btw is not great, no sink and it is literally in a tiny cupboard.

Super tasty food, really authentic Vietnamese food. Service is fine, nothing special. The only downside is the location, it is located in a secluded alley next to a coffee shop where some blurry figures occasionally walk past. In addition, the seating areas are limited and you sit on a wooden stool, which is not very comfortable.

Definitely get the pork spring rolls. They are truly legendary. And huge. The Pho is good. Light on beef and heavy on the five spice, but, it’s real broth. All that said, it’s the best name for a pho place of all time. FIVE STARS TO NAMING GENIUS!

all very good except that they took my food away when I was still finishing eating saying that they had to close, while there were also other people who were eating, I'm sorry to leave a bad review because it was really good, but take the food back when you're still eating it's very ugly and absurd.

THE BEST PHO IN AMSTERDAM! The only thing is that we arrived at 12 noon and it was closed, however they told us they would open at 12:30 noon! Understandable but my recommendation would be to go slowly!

You need to order at the counter and then find a seat. It’s also really smelly outside which reeks of urine which was not great.

I am a big Pho Bo fan, I’ve been to Vietnam. I came here because of good reviews. But I want to say that is not good Pho Bo:( Even no usual sauces like vinegar with garlic.

Pho King is an absolute pearl. Tucked away in a side alleyway, it has an amazing vibe due to it being small and authentic. The Pho is amazing, as well as the meats and rice dishes. Ate here more than 50 times. Highly recommend.

No vegetarian pho. The menu and picture online is outdated. All pho are beef broth. The place is small. Too crowded. The wait line is long.

Just stopped by in early July 2024 on a trip to the Netherlands. The pho taste is unique and reasonable compared to some pho restaurants I've eaten at in Europe, and I've met many Vietnamese people eating here. The space is quite narrow, only serving about 20 guests at a time. In return, the quality is also worth waiting a little time.

Got their slice beef pho. Comes with big portion of rice noodles. The broth is not the tastiest I’ve had but this bowl of pho still works on a cold chilly day. They also provide hoisin sauce, sriracha sauce and chili padi if one’d like. Just take note they do not have a lot of seatings indoor.

Pho King is truly a hidden gem on Regulierdwarsstraat. I have visited multiple times, and without a doubt, it offers the best pho in the Netherlands. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, this small restaurant serves incredibly delicious food. Besides pho, they have amazing Bún and Spring Rolls. The menu is small and easy to navigate. I highly recommend trying the Spring Rolls and the Vietnamese Coffee aswell. Though the restaurant is small with limited seating, it is absolutely worth it. The flavors are authentic, and the friendly staff enhances the experience. The atmosphere feels more like a street food spot, offering a genuine taste of Vietnam. If you're in Amsterdam, don't miss out!

This is what one expects for a hole in the wall Mom and Pop noodle house down an alleyway. Cramped(cozy) seating, good service(no fuss and to the point) and awesome food. Simple limited menu but honestly some of the best phó I’ve had. Flavours were complex and the food came out quick!

Cute little restaurant, gave Asian street food vibes. Pho was great especially the meat and broth, however there was a strong five spice taste. Vietnamese coffee was delicious too!
