Right in the center of Deventer. Had lunch with the surf and turf salad. Very tasty with lots of shrimp and steak. A good rosé to go with it. Hospitable and friendly staff.

Beautiful location right on the village green. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Wide selection on the menu. Also a lovely spot for coffee on the terrace with a view of the weigh house and the beautiful village green.

A nice and cozy place in Deventer. The staff took the time to think along with us and gave good advice: the German burger would be a better choice than the American one. It turned out to be a hit – a delicious burger, well-seasoned and beautifully prepared. It was great to receive such friendly service and go home with a delicious lunch.

What a gem this restaurant/cafe is! The restaurant may look a bit old-fashioned/simple, but it's still worth a visit. We had lunch here and tried everything: I had the carpaccio salad, while everyone else had soup, a sandwich, a burger, and croquettes. All of this came with delicious country bread (white or brown) and/or deliciously seasoned fries. The staff was prompt, polite, and very friendly. I will definitely recommend this to friends!

We had a surprisingly delicious meal with a wonderful mustard soup. I'd put it in my top 3, and I've already had a few. The portions are generous; the children's ice cream is even quite generous and very tasty with all the variations on the plate. It was busy at lunchtime, so sometimes it took a little longer. Nicely centrally located on the square, easily accessible after our visit to the toy museum. Our granddaughter was thrilled to get a surprise from the treasure chest. She was busy with it on the way home.

Very nice place to sit down for a drink or lunch. From the outside you can't see how much space they have inside. You are also helped in a friendly way, there are quite a few steps and we had 2 strollers and they also helped with lifting. That surprised me positively. The only downside is that it is not really wheelchair accessible.

Today we sat down at the terrace of Hans en Grietje. We were helped in a friendly way – the staff was attentive and helpful, which we certainly appreciated. We ordered a piece of cheesecake and coffee. The cheesecake tasted good, really good. The coffee, on the other hand, was a bit disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but not really good either – in my opinion on the mediocre side. All in all a great place to sit for a while, especially because of the friendly service. The coffee could be improved a bit, but the cake made it worth it.

Last week we enjoyed our lunch in the sun on Hansel and Gretel's terrace. Friendly staff, very quick service and the food was delicious!

Wij zijn hier gekomen om een leuke avond uiteten te hebben. Eindstand onze orders opgenomen en een uur gewacht, hierop hebben wij een medewerker aangesproken om te vragen hoe ver het eten al was. Het antwoord hierop was oh sorry er is iets misgegaan met het opnemen van de bestelling. We hebben ervoor gekozen om het van het huis te laten komen. Voor ons hoefde het eigenlijk al niet meer maar toch maar gedaan uit beleefdheid dus ook niet hoeven te betalen. Het zou inderdaad kunnen dat er een miscommunicatie is geweest maar wij hadden vooral het gevoel dat we een beetje gekleineerd werden door het personeel Vandaar helaas 1 ster moeten geven

A restaurant with a spacious layout and tables where you can place something, feels like a relaxed atmosphere and you can hear each other without having to drown out. Sufficient options on the menu and the service is quick.

Currently has insufficient experienced staff. The supposedly experienced person who has to take the order has no overview and is not exactly customer friendly.

A company is always as goods as its’ staff. Though I have been here multiple times, today I need mention that service level on a Friday at 1pm has been better. This is a tough one because we were serviced by three different people in staff. Where two are fairly okay, the other serving drinks, without saying too much displayed utter “could care less” attitude. I do hope management will work on this as good as possible, will make this place better again.

We went inside around 10:00 am and were welcomed in an attractive Hans & Gretel with fairy lights. Unfortunately, the tables are not fresh and are wiped with a damp yellow cloth. staff, on the other hand, friendly and delicious food 🍽️

Had a salad, nice portion, especially the steak was very well cooked. Super tender. The Caesar could have been a bit more exciting, it had crispy chicken lettuce and 2 sun-dried tomatoes.

We had a few drinks but we are a bit disappointed. €1 extra for fake whipped cream and mediocre chocolate milk. The chai was also full of cinnamon powder lumps. Waste of money. #no-slay💅🏻

Today we had a delicious lunch at Hans and Grietje's. Very nice and fast service, you don't see that much these days. Took the time for you and the food was delicious. To start, we first had a hot chocolate, which looked very nice with mini marshmallows on top of the whipped cream. Then we enjoyed a delicious pancake with bacon and a hamburger. If we are ever in Deventer again we will definitely come back!

Een goed adres voor lekker eten. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk. Het is belangrijk om van te voren te reserveren. Het is er nogal druk.

Op 22 november ‘s avonds bezochten wij met 4 personen vanaf 19:00 Hans en Grietje. Van te voren via de mail gereserveerd en een plekje gevraagd aan de raamzijde. Wat schetst mijn verbazing: dat plekje was precies zo gereserveerd! Wij kwamen uit het Amsterdamse en daar in de omgeving probeer je zo te reserveren en dan gaat dat heel vaak mis. Hier dus top geregeld; een pluim! Wat ook top geregeld is, dat 1 dezelfde tafelserveerster de hele avond dezelfde (onze tafel) bediende! Helemaal top ook weer. In veel restaurants komt dan de ene en dan weer een andere langs; waardoor vaak ook veel miscommunicatie ontstaat. Hier ook weer een pluim! De derde pluim is voor de serveerster zelf die onze tafel werkelijk Uitstekend bediende! Preventief zorgde er steeds voor dat wij voldoende water op tafel hadden (naast de prima rode Merlot wijn). En dat alles op een zeer prettige en vriendelijke manier geserveerd. Ook het eten was top; alles goed warm geserveerd en prima, meer dan voldoende hoeveelheid! Een zeer geslaagde avond en veel dank aan uw organisate EN de vriendelijke medewerkers! Ga zo door; zeer aan te bevelen!!

Chose to have lunch here during a city trip. In retrospect, a great choice!! Both ordered a salad; a goat cheese salad and a Caesar salad. Both salads were fresh, well filled and delicious. When ordering the goat cheese salad, we were asked if bacon was also wanted in the salad; and or! Got this in the salad. Chose a Sunshine smoothie as a drink. Wonderful choice. Fresh, cooling and a delicious taste. The bill afterwards was just over €40 for 2 salads, 2 drinks and a smoothie. A bill we happily paid for this delicious lunch. We can recommend this location and would go back to eat here again!

Good service and friendly staff

I came here with a fairly specific intolerance, and the staff handled it very professionally. They took the time to check everything thoroughly and made me feel really comfortable. They went above and beyond what you would normally expect in a restaurant, really going the extra mile to ensure everything went perfectly. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just right. Not too busy, which made it easy to have a conversation. All in all a great evening, I will definitely come back here again!

Delicious meal with a large group. Even though it was busy, we were helped quickly and the staff showed up regularly. Friendly people and the food was good and more than enough.

Attention to guests is more than just taking orders. Especially if a guest comes alone. Atmosphere was good thanks to the brocante market. I still wanted a drink, but maybe I need to work on my non-verbal communication. That said, they were in no hurry to pay. So we went inside. Fortunately, there was a Pride flag there, which still made me feel super welcome.

To be fair, we had fantastic weather and were able to sit on Hansel and Gretel's terrace until 10 o'clock in the evening with a view of De Waag. How fun can it be! Instantly saves a star. But everything was just right: friendly service, cushions in the chair, delicious food (including tomato pepper soup and crispy vegetarian flammkuchen), nice drink, no crazy prices. And then De Brink in Deventer: a picture! Recommended.

We are sitting here at Hans en Grietje. A nice place on the terrace. Disapointing that there is no ice coffee without cow milk or lactose free milk. But the nachos en bitterballeN are very taste.

Hans and NOTJE, People on the terrace, everything open, waitress ignores you. She sat for a while and waited until she had finished chatting with people. Then you go inside and you are simply sent away in a very customer-friendly manner (not) “we are closed”, nothing, a coke. Then to a real entrepreneur.

Het was niet al te best. Mijn vriendin had een mixed grill, maar noem het gerust een dryed mixed grill. Het vlees was enorm droog en niet lekker. Ook de patat was erg slap..

Mijn vrouw en ik hebben beide een tonijnsalade besteld. Maar wat een smakeloze en zeer droge tonijnsalade. Het brood was ook al zo verschrikkelijk droog, wellicht zelfs oud brood. Door de hoeveelheid verwerkte uien in de salade proef je nagenoeg geen tonijn meer. Dit is werkelijk een van de slechtste tonijnsalade welke wij hebben gegeten.

Service as you would hope to get everywhere, genuinely friendly employees, not that made-up as you see in many places. Food is also just good, tasty, good portions. And an extra plus for the cocktails, one of the few places where you actually taste alcohol instead of a glass full of ice blocks and a bit of aroma.
