Absolutely disappointing. There were four of us at this restaurant, and three out of four agreed that the food was on par with frozen meals. Barely seasoned, some pizzas had cold toppings, etc. The prices are definitely too high for what you get. The food also took an unreasonably long time to prepare, even though the restaurant wasn't even full. Never again. It's a shame, because the seating area itself is actually quite pleasant.

Ive been to little Italy a number of times with my wife and young children. It used to be fantastic, the place was rammed full and finding a table was difficult. The staff this year are unfortunately not quite so fantastic this time. Don't think about ordering in Dutch, its English only. Brought food through as starters which was supposed to come together. Missed drinks off entirely... I head another diner say "finally" when his dessert was brought... Im sure they can do better. The food we got was delicious however as it always is here. Good food. It was hot to sit inside. (As if they don't have air conditioning). Fortunately, we were able to sit outside at the front. It was a discount deal from Kruidvat.

We had dinner at Happy Italy Venlo. We were received very well and kindly by Nicolet. The way she welcomes and serves everyone makes dining out a real treat. The food was delicious. Ingrid Michiels

The ambiance is really nice, the service okay. But we personally didn't like the pizza and pasta. It was simply tasteless and bland. The mushrooms in my pasta funghi weren't fresh, but canned. Ultimately, we were full, but for these prices, I expect more in terms of taste.

I ordered a spicy chicken pizza for 16.25. This was the most tasteless pizza I have ever had. There was certainly cheese and enough chicken on it, but it had 0.0000000% flavor. The price AND quality is the worst ever. Even a frozen pizza is 10x better in terms of price/quality. I would never order this here again. The Tiramisu, which apparently did taste good, was just tossed down as if it were a bowl of dog food.

Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait a very long time for our food.

Not only did it take 30 minutes just for 3 pizzas when it wasnt busy, they also got 2 out of the 3 pizzas complestly wrong, the pizza wasn't even that good, and the pasta was extreamly fatty, I would not reccomend

Food tasty. However, we were seated upstairs, but no food or drinks were served there, so we were sent downstairs to eat. Very hot inside, just as hot as outside (34°C). Drinks were placed on the table after the pizzas, and these were from the table next to us. Then it was our turn. No one came over to ask if everything was to our liking. In Venlo.

I got food poisoning after eating there. We had to wait over an hour for our food, even though guests who arrived much later were served before us. The pasta had an unpleasant aftertaste and was inedible. The prices are completely exorbitant for the poor quality and inadequate service. It was an utterly disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I tried worst Carbonara in my entire life here! I do not recommend it, it was very oily and does not taste so good. For this price of 16,45 I expected much much more. 😬😬😬

The staff was very unfriendly... they said they closed at 8, while the website says 9... the food was tasty... but the people were very unfriendly. I wouldn't be quick to go back here.

Really enjoyed eating here! The food came out surprisingly fast, the pizza was fresh and tasty, and the pasta was really good too. The portions are generous, especially for the price, so it’s definitely worth it. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great place to grab a meal with friends or family. Will definitely be back!

Last Wednesday, I went to Happy Italy in Venlo because it was my son's birthday. Apparently, there was no air conditioning, and it was scorching hot. First of all, I want to mention: All praise to the waitress who was working incredibly hard in that heat, wearing jeans, with a smile and patience. We even got a Nutella pizza for his birthday! (Highly recommended). I just felt guilty, thinking that this chain would have air conditioning or would have announced if they were closed due to the heat. We would have understood that completely. As a second point: Who in their right mind keeps this restaurant open without air conditioning?! My suggestion: close it down and pay the employees. These were unhealthy working conditions and also an unhealthily hot space for customers.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a nice experience. First of all, there was no menu on the table, no waiter came to ask anything, and the dirty dishes on the table were not cleared away. After speaking to them, someone came to take our order without menus, having looked them up on their phone. After speaking to them, the used dishes were also removed. Buuuuut what I find the worst is that the spaghetti was very sticky. And on top of that, it had very little flavor... after we added salt, pepper, and olive oil, it remained sticky, though it had a little more flavor. We had spaghetti bianco. It's a shame we are/were not used to this.

Unfortunately, no one came to the table to take your order. There was no menu on the table, and the previous customers' dirty laundry was on the table and was not cleared away. After speaking to the staff, the order and dirty laundry were cleared away. We ordered food via the menu on our phone. But what I find very disappointing is that The spaghetti was sticky & clumpy.....and very bland in taste.. we had ordered spaghetti bianco. Previously, we never had any complaints or regretted eating there. But now.....very disappointing.

Yesterday, two couples of us dined at this restaurant. The service was friendly, and the other diners in our group also enjoyed their meals. Nevertheless, we were disappointed overall. Due to health reasons, I wanted to order a small or children's pizza, as I can't manage a regular one. However, this was refused, as children's pizzas are only offered for children up to 10 years old. Since a regular pizza would have been too much for me, and we didn't want to take anything away, I ended up not ordering anything at all. I would have appreciated a bit more understanding and flexibility. Furthermore, the rosé wine was unfortunately served warm. Our request to have the pizza cut was also ignored. Finally, we wanted to pay separately as couples. This unfortunately led to a lengthy discussion and was unnecessarily complicated. It's a shame, because friendliness alone doesn't make for good service in my opinion. A little more customer focus and consideration would have made our visit much more pleasant.

Fast food disguised as quasi-Italian. The decor is quite nice, but due to its size, the atmosphere is also that of a fast-food chain. The food is mediocre in terms of taste, preparation, and presentation. The price is fine for the quality. I think the service is provided mainly by young people doing it as a side job, and therefore logically do not offer the most engaged or experienced service. If you want to eat good Italian food, there are plenty of better options in the neighborhood. However, if you are looking for a quick, somewhat affordable, and easy meal, this is a decent place to go.

Having been a few times already, I find the service comes across as quite impersonal.

I was there in warm day, AC didn’t work and I sweated all time. Pizza was normal, nothing special. For that price I can show you much better pizzeria around Venlo. Location in a Town Centre is big plus.

A pretty expensive pizza! The cheese on the pizza had clearly never seen the inside of the oven; it was lukewarm. Only the dough and sauce were hot, but they too quickly became lukewarm, like the rest of the pizza.

Food was ok, but waitresses were very rude and disrespectful. Being weird about cleaning the table. After i left the restaurant, a minute later i realized i need to use the toilet, and went back. She wanted me to pay 1 Euro for non-customers. Had to remind her that i just sat in here and ate. She rolled her eyes and let me pass but that’s not service. Disappointed and will never return.

I would give zero stars. It's outrageous to charge 10 euros for a small children's portion.

I recently visited Happy Italy in Venlo and can highly recommend the restaurant. The food was delicious overall: fresh ingredients, generous portions, and well-seasoned. You can tell that everything is prepared with care. However, I have had slightly better Italian food, so it doesn't quite get a full 5 stars in that category. I was particularly impressed by the staff: super friendly, very quick, and competent at the same time. The order arrived promptly, and everything was just perfect. The absolute highlight is the interior ambiance – truly wow! Modern, stylish, and cozy all at once. The outdoor seating, on the other hand, can be quite noisy, especially when Venlo is busy. Of course, this depends on the time of day and the weather. Despite these minor drawbacks, I would definitely go back and can wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family. A lovely evening, good food, and friendly service – well worth it! 👍

The food was more or less okay, but the Aperol cocktail was terrible, tasteless, just water, and they used lemon instead of orange. The Caesar salad was served on a plastic plate. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but I would say it used to taste better. And the sauce was different. The pizza itself was delicious, but when we asked to have it cut into at least 4 pieces, they refused. We had to cut and scrape it all over the plate ourselves, which was very unpleasant!

Always a fun place to go with the kids. You get good value for money and there is plenty of choice. Reserving in advance is recommended these days. Without a reservation, you will be seated at the front of the restaurant. That is fine in itself, but slightly less atmospheric.

We had already been sitting at the table for 20 minutes, and after 20 minutes they came to tell us that they were closing. What a shame!

I wouldn't recommend it. I got food poisoning and had to vomit. Besides, the knives look like they're from 10 BC and they don't cut properly. The staff are unfriendly, the noodles are disgusting and taste like water, and the Pepsi is flat. The pizza sauce was just slapped on without being made. You have to bite into the pizza because we asked if she would cut it and she answered "no" with a snide look. When we asked if she spoke German, she said "no, sorry," but she was speaking German to other customers right next to us, and the people behind us were spitting and throwing their boogers around the whole time without any shame.

I ordered a quattro formaggi pizza, a portion of pasta carbonara and a mini salami pizza (for children) Excellent pizza (I felt the same taste as 20 years ago in Italy in a restaurant) Very tasty pasta carbonara and a very large portion, excellent sauce The pizza for my child arrived in a very funny rabbit shape, also very tasty. Although I do not speak Dutch, I had no problem speaking English and the staff was very polite.

De bediening liet helaas veel te wensen over. De dame die de betalingen aannam, een kleine blonde vrouw met een bril, was erg onvriendelijk en kwam over alsof ze daar tegen haar zin werkte. Er was totaal geen klantvriendelijkheid, wat meteen een slechte indruk gaf. De porties zijn inderdaad groot, maar dat is eigenlijk het enige positieve punt. De carbonara smaakte alsof het uit een kant en klare mix kwam, met veel room en een harde, vreemde kaaskorst bovenop. Echt niet lekker en moeilijk om op te eten. Het gerecht zag er goedkoop uit en smaakte ook zo, alsof er weinig aandacht aan kwaliteit was besteed. De drank was ook een teleurstelling. Deze was volledig overheerst door een overdosis siroop, waardoor het veel te zoet en onnatuurlijk smaakte. Andere gusten waren nauwelijks te proeven. Over het algemeen heb ik het gevoel dat deze plek meer op kwantiteit dan op kwaliteit gericht is. Met zo'n service en eten heb ik absoluut geen reden om terug te komen en ik zou het ook zeker niet aanraden. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. The lady taking the money, a short, blonde woman with glasses, was very rude and gave the impression she was working there as a punishment. The lack of courtesy and lack of any customer service immediately ruined the entire experience. The portions are indeed large, but that's really the only positive thing about this place. The carbonara tasted like it came from a pre-made sachet, drenched in cream, with a strange, hard crust of cheese on top. It was really hard to eat. The dish looked and tasted very cheap, as if prepared without any regard for quality. The drink was also disappointing. It was completely drenched in flavored syrup, making it overly sweet and unnatural. It was difficult to detect any flavor other than sugar. Overall, I feel like this place prioritizes quantity over quality. With such poor service and subpar food, I have no desire to return and definitely don't recommend it.

The food at the restaurant was delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered pasta and pizza, and both were really good. The prices were commensurate with the quality of the food. It was also clean. However, we weren't even asked if everything was alright or if we wanted to order anything else. The waitress was nice, but somehow I got the feeling that we, as Germans, weren't particularly welcome. Nevertheless, everything else was fine, and we would come back again if we had the chance.

5 stars + 1 extra for the service staff. Nice, charming, and accommodating – super friendly and polite. That's the Netherlands for you, great people. The pizza is top-notch and very large. I understand the criteria regarding the pizza; in the Netherlands, pizzas are often baked quite lightly, which can give the impression that they're undercooked! But that's not the case here; the pizzas are just cooked through, but cooked through! Not raw! So everything's great! I love the style exactly as it is, and I've been there several times and have never been disappointed. If you ask the incredibly friendly staff to bake the pizza a little longer, you'll get it cooked exactly how you like it. Therefore, the location is fantastic, and the food tastes great too. The staff greet you warmly, so everything is friendly and all is well.

The pizza was edible. Not exactly a culinary highlight, but okay. The service, however, was a disaster. Our drinks arrived after we had finished eating. The only response was, "Sorry, too busy."

The food is delicious and the staff is really friendly. We're from Germany, but we had no communication problems with them. I came here with my children. I recommend everything, of course, but especially the Caesar salad – it tastes fresh and the chicken pieces are cooked perfectly. The ambiance is also a 5 out of 5; it's highly recommended and there's a great atmosphere in the restaurant. I've read the other reviews, and they're all outdated now. Also, there's a playroom for children upstairs. The restrooms are very clean. I highly recommend it.

Friendly staff and good service

The food was delicious. I eat vegan myself, and they have that on the menu too. Not a lot, but what they have is delicious. It was very busy, but it wasn't a problem. The only problem was that the door didn't always close automatically, so we were occasionally in a draft. The waitress was just friendly, in a way I don't encounter in other restaurants.

The food was bland. The young server who spoke English was very friendly and helpful. Another older female (brown hair was wearing a lot of make - up) server wasn't at all and on top of that she made homophobic comments towards me.

We stopped in spontaneously without a reservation. We were greeted warmly and only had to wait briefly for a table. There are indoor play areas for children, allowing parents to eat in peace. The children's pizza, shaped like a mouse, was almost too big. The kids really enjoyed it. It was a bit more expensive than usual, but it was definitely worth it.

I've been to this restaurant several times, and unfortunately, it always looks the same. The staff shows absolutely no respect for the customers. You have to wait a very long time before anyone even brings the menu, and placing an order then takes another half hour or more—and that's only after you have to ask for it yourself. The staff chats, clearly sees that guests are waiting, and yet doesn't come to you. A lack of interest in the customer and very poorly organized. It's a shame, because the restaurant has potential, but the service completely ruins it.

Another visit, and exactly the same thing: complete ignoring of customers. You wait minutes for a menu, and then tens of minutes more to even order—often only after repeated insistence. The staff chats among themselves while clearly seeing that customers are waiting. A complete lack of organization, professionalism, and respect. A business with potential consistently ruined by terrible service. Absolutely not recommended.

The restaurant advertises a children's play area/playground outside, which is why I specifically chose to eat there with my 1¾-year-old. As soon as I entered, I asked about the play area so my child could play while I ate in peace. I was told it was on the first floor. However, I was then told to sit with the other guests downstairs in the entrance area with my child and stroller. The space there was very cramped, completely uncomfortable, and extremely impractical with a toddler and stroller. To make matters worse, there were pizza crusts left over from the previous diners on the floor, which, of course, immediately attracted my child's attention – a complete hygiene and organizational disaster. Throughout the entire meal, I wasn't asked once if everything was alright or if I wanted anything else to drink. After paying, I asked about the play area again and was finally allowed to go upstairs with my child. I had to leave the stroller and all my belongings downstairs next to the entrance. The space was very cramped, absolutely uncomfortable, and extremely impractical with a toddler and stroller. Upon arriving at the top, I was honestly very disappointed with the experience beforehand: There's a spacious dining room with an elevator, a fantastic view of the river and the bridge – truly beautiful. It would have been perfectly possible to sit there with a child. However, the staff apparently didn't want that. The indoor playground itself is also nicely designed. The food was okay, though nothing special. Because of the unfriendly and unfamily-oriented service, we won't be returning to this restaurant – despite its potential.

Surprisingly pleasant atmosphere... Positive... Surprisingly large selection of food and drinks... Positive... Surprisingly good taste for a restaurant chain. The amount of meat in the salad could be improved. Service is good, whether you're a tourist or a local. Prices are fair and in line with what's on offer. But the most surprising thing is the children's play area on the first floor. Surprisingly child-friendly.

I entered the venue a short while ago because I am considering it for a future baby celebration event. I didn’t ask “Where is the toilet ?” Without me even asking where the baby section was, a gentleman at the entrance loudly said something like, “The toilet is 1 euro, if you want to use it, you have to pay.” I found this approach very strange. Assuming it was due to staff inexperience, I went upstairs to the baby section. Before leaving, I approached the male staff member and told him that his attitude was very poor and that I had come there regarding an event organization. He did not even apologize. It was a very bad attitude, terrible communication, and an extremely unprofessional approach. If it is a concern whether people will enter the restroom or not, you can place a staff member in front of it. That professional was very skilled in this area; it could become a new line of work for him!

I was visiting and wanted to eat a delicious pizza, but I was completely dissatisfied! The pizza tasted only of dough! NEVER AGAIN!

We had a delicious meal and our wishes were well-received, so we arrived back at the Maaspoort on time. Fantastic!

The food is truly unbelievably bad. The appetizer was okay. The only thing I could even remotely recommend is the cheese and garlic bread. We had the chicken Alfredo pasta and the truffle risotto. The pasta was completely tasteless and tasted like noodles with a flour roux. The chicken made it even more of an instant dish. For that price, it's a complete disaster. Overall, I definitely wouldn't recommend it. The German Vapiano is worlds better.

I went here because of the “Family friendly” aspect, expecting as is normally the case, that means the rest will be sub standard. Thankfully, I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was 20% better than it needed to be. The play area. Huge, clean, well appointed. The food. Fresh and tasty, especially for the price point. Even the house wine was perfectly drinkable. Really a good experience, would definitely come again.

We ate through Social Deal. Choice of all pizzas and pastas plus 2 scoops of ice cream. Good deal. Friendly welcome. Service was also friendly and fast. My pizza had black, burnt edges. A shame. The other three pizzas were good. The restaurant itself doesn't have a very cozy atmosphere. Perhaps too big for a cozy atmosphere. But fine for a quick bite. Not for a dinner party. Also, too much ambient noise, especially if someone sits at the table behind you and starts FaceTime.

The pasta was overcooked (or was it pressure-cooked pasta?) and the sauces and pizza were tasteless. I had intestinal cramps the next day.

I just ordered 40 euros worth of pizzas, I have never had such a cold, limp, sweet and sour mess, how can you make a salami pizza sour and sweet? I ate 2 bites and then threw it straight in the bin.

I ordered spaghetti with seafood. I've never eaten such bad spaghetti in my entire life. One star is too many, unfortunately. A shame.

A tall, slim, blonde woman was supposed to help me. Instead, she was playing in the playground. Then Tarek came to help me. A short, fat man. He did a little dance first. Then he went to take the order. I don't think he quite understood. And when we finished eating and the plates were cleared, I saw him sneakily eating my leftover pizza. Someone was also walking around the restaurant without shoes or socks. He also wanted to take off his pants, but I told him not to. Then I wanted to play in the ball pit, but that wasn't allowed because I was supposedly too old, but that tall, slim, blonde woman was playing in it too. The rest of the staff were cute duchesses.

There were five of us there and we were unfortunately extremely disappointed. As soon as we sat down, we noticed that the atmosphere was off: very unfriendly service, it felt like they didn't even want to work. After a brief conversation with the waitress and waiter, we decided not to order at all. Simple questions were met with only rude, dismissive answers. This kind of behavior is completely inappropriate for a restaurant. Absolutely not recommended!
