Restaurant De Bron in Wijk 44 Arcen

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat, was received wonderfully and served incredibly kindly. For me, the day was instantly made right again.

We stayed at Parkhotel Bad Arcen again, and this time we thought we had made a good choice with Restaurant De Bron, nice and convenient right in front of the Parkhotel entrance. The food was okay, but the service... for two evenings in a row, we were plagued by a truly peculiar waitress. I think she must have been pulled out of a cave somewhere, because on both nights she got into arguments with guests due to her rude and disrespectful behavior. My dear people, that is absolutely not what service staff should be doing; surely you can see that?

We always love coming here. The coffee and cake are fantastic. We've always received friendly service. Unfortunately, not today. The menu says "Cappuccino large." When we tried to order it, the curt reply was: "We don't have that." The woman was unfriendly. What a shame.

In summary: - Extremely slow (2 hours) - Not fully cooked - Not completely delivered - Some of the side dishes on the menu were unavailable We had to wait almost two hours (7-9 pm) for our food with rumbling stomachs. After about 1.5 hours, we were at least offered complimentary drinks. - Steak with vegetables and green asparagus The steak was tasty, the broccoli was undercooked, and the asparagus was missing and was delivered later (but it was good). - Salmon with green asparagus and sweet potato mash (according to the menu) The sweet potato mash was missing and was replaced with fries. The salmon was tasty but not cooked through. In the end, they waived the cost of our drinks. No bread was offered to tide us over. Even if the food had arrived on time, it wouldn't have been worth the price. To the non-smokers: We were sitting outside, and people were smoking at two tables away from us. It didn't directly affect us, but the neighboring tables of smokers were downwind and were passively exposed to the smoke.

We ate here for the second time; we were staying at the Parkhotel, and it was terrible. The asparagus soup was lukewarm. When we mentioned this to the manager, he went to feel the soup bowl. Subsequently, we waited for almost an hour, but no main course arrived. People who arrived later than us were already getting their dessert. The wait staff regularly stood next to our table and just watched... nothing happened. I walked to the cashier, said that we had been waiting an hour for our main course by then and that we didn't want to wait any longer, and that I wanted to pay for the drinks and soup. The employee said sorry and that she had to tell the manager. The manager's reaction, looking in the system, was: "You have only been here for an hour; he didn't even say sorry!!!!" ...Uhhh no, we reserved for 6:30 and it is now 10 to 8. The friendly employee Manuela apologized at least three times. I said that I would write a bad review but asked if I could mention her name because she deserves a positive review. She embodies the concept of Hospitality.

Yesterday I went for asparagus with my father, after a day in Germany. They had a delicious 3-course menu. And then the service... Amber, what a star ❤. She really made all the difference. I would come back just for her, haha. Sweet, spontaneous, and up for a joke. Every hospitality establishment should have someone like her on their team. The whole terrace loved her. We will definitely be back again.

Two of us were severely ill for days. We contacted the restaurant, and they told us we had to provide proof from our GP first. They are temporarily cooking in a tent due to kitchen renovations, so things can go wrong there, but we were not taken seriously at all. A scandalous attitude.

Very friendly service, steep prices, delicious food. It's not worth making a special trip just for the food. Only worthwhile if you're already in the area. Restaurant prices are comparatively very high.

Great restaurant with a good menu. We had the three-course game menu, which looked good and was delicious. Friendly, responsive service.

Nice, accessible dining option. Just a quick beer and burger in the cozy atmosphere before we had to go elsewhere.

After being greeted by a very friendly waitress, we placed our orders. My partner had tuna from the oven and I had an omelette with only ham. Our food arrived shortly afterward. My omelette had to be returned immediately because it had cheese and no ham. Anyway, my partner was already eating, otherwise his would get cold. But he didn't have to wait, because he could return it as well. The tuna was still frozen. Then my dish arrived first, and then my partner's, so there was no question of sharing a meal. As compensation (which I had to ask for), we received our iced tea for free. Unfortunately, not a pleasant experience with the food.

Cozy restaurant, delicious food and great service.

The food was excellent, but the portion was a bit small. I would like to give a big compliment to Mr. Olaf and Miss Joana. Both are very friendly and attentive people. They smiled the whole time. Thanks to their excellent work, the evening was even more enjoyable.

We ate here while staying at the Roompot park. At first, we thought we'd walked into a hospital restaurant. Seriously, people, put some money into giving this place some ambiance. A decent lighting plan would also be nice. That said: great service, people who are passionate about their work. Regarding the food: mixed feelings. We had the game tasting, which was fine. But the yellow curry could easily be included in a low-salt diet, it was so flavorless. Ravioli was OK. I asked how they make their cocktails/specialty coffee. Unfortunately, the cocktails come straight from a bottle, and the whipped cream is just piped in, not whipped. A shame. 4 stars anyway because of the personal touch regarding service and food.

The service is good, the food is average at its best and horrible at its worst. You can get equally mediocre food for far less money elsewhere.

A small menu, decent value for money, and friendly staff with prompt service. The entrance to the Parkhotel's rooms runs between the two parts of the restaurant, creating a lively atmosphere.

Booked an overnight stay with the spa. Just had dinner at De Bron. I have to admit, it was excellent. The mustard soup was excellent. The bread board with dips was excellent. Delicious, warm, soft rolls. Shrimp ribbons, delicious. The steak, medium rare, was also excellent. It came with salad and fries. The fries were delicious. Fresh and crispy. The portions were also quite large. I couldn't finish mine. That's why I didn't order dessert, just a cup of coffee. 😋 The crew/service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We come here 3 or 4 times a year. And we will always come back. Update August 27, 2024 Probably a different chef. The shrimp pasta was hard and tasteless. 🤮 And it's gotten more expensive. I'm willing to pay if it tastes good, but my dishes were good for the trash. Never, ever again.

Brunch on Easter Sunday 2024. Super extensive brunch with all the trimmings for a reasonable price! On top of that, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very nice, compliments and see you next time!

Had dinner here while staying at the hotel. The service is very friendly, cordial and multilingual. The schnitzel was added to the menu as a Special, but they forgot to mention that it was fried, so in short it was not really edible and unworthy of a restaurant. The room is not really attractively decorated, it looks more like a canteen.

We had a very nice meal here twice this week. We always arrived early in the evening and were able to choose a spot ourselves. Service was very friendly.

After visiting the thermal baths, we treated ourselves to an overnight stay and ate there. The food (noodles with shrimp and chicken skewers with peanut sauce) was tasty and plentiful, the service friendly and attentive. Gladly again!

Been here with one of the Happen en Trappen cycle routes. After we registered, we were allowed to choose a spot and sat outside. After choosing our main course we didn't have to wait too long before we could eat. The food was delicious and the service was great, the waitress was super friendly and full of energy 🙂. After we had finished our food and drinks, we could get back on our bikes and head for dessert.

Always had to wait a very long time for service. Constantly walking past you. Pity

Fish board and meat board (kind of 12 hours). Fish included a bisque. Received tomato soup without consultation. After a complaint, it was exchanged for asparagus soup because they had no bisque. Both were a mockery for that money. Croquettes (both beef and shrimp) were lukewarm, soup (both) very dirty and bread was old and very dry. Salad was a joke. Tip? Good food? Go to the monastery farm in the park itself. Same menu but apparently different chef and much nicer and tastier. Still eating at the source? Then take a snack garnish. Not much can go wrong with that...

We had booked the monthly offer in the thermal bath. When we asked at the checkout, we were assured that we could redeem the voucher as long as the kitchen was open. They tried to get rid of us in the restaurant because it was evening. A table was reserved for us 1.5 hours later. When we arrived, we were shown to the table and not served for 30 minutes. (The restaurant wasn't full!) Only when the waitress was emphatically asked to come to the table was the drink order taken. They probably don't like the monthly arrangement and therefore these guests there. Something so outrageous has never happened to us before. The chef is innocent, the food was good.

We ordered a carpaccio and a beef burger. And with that a gin tonic and a cava. The drinks were delicious. As well as the carpaccio. However, the burger looked and tasted a bit like a standard chip shop burger. This was a bit of a shame. Quite expensive. But enjoyed it.

How terribly bad. The only thing that was good. The Duke Jan beer. Although I had to wait far too long for that. Food was cold and downright unappetizing. Bah. What a bad restaurant.

Neat reservations were only possible with 3 tables at the same time because there was only 1 chef. No problem, all understanding. But then you arrive at the agreed time, they keep walking past your table and after 15 minutes they asked if we could have something to drink. Staff asked if we had made a reservation?????? Finally took carpaccio, too bad you only taste mustard sauce, after another fifteen minutes of waiting with your dirty plate in front of you, you quickly went home. What a bad restaurant, they didn't ask if you liked it, too bad because the chef was there (so busy) .

Always waiting too long for the food and food cold

Hamburger was tasty, fries too. Too bad that in the Netherlands you can only eat bread and sometimes a hamburger for lunch. You can only go for a real meal in the evening.

Super experience... Really enjoyed it, everything freshly prepared. Very tasteful. Will definitely come back. The service also paid attention to the right things. Calm and professional.

Delicious cappucino, nice place, nice service.

Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our main course. In the meantime, the starter plates remained on the table. Food we got was tasty. Despite several reminders that it was taking a very long time, this was not reflected upon payment. Once, but not again, unfortunately.

Pork tenderloin with bacon. Very dry how do you get it done. After the main course we had to wait half an hour for the after course. Expecting that we wouldn't get them anymore. But asked for the bill.

We ordered seafood. What we received exceeded expectations. 4 types of seafood and appetizers in quantities sufficient for 4 people and everything is very tasty. One downside is that you have to order for 2 people. Price 50 euro

Nice ambiance. I expected something better from the "pampering menu". People have difficulty thinking about allergies such as lactose int. We had to wait a long time between the 3 courses.

Nice meal. Informal. Food was good. I thought the space was a bit large for the restaurant with the tables. Because it is also a double bath, you continuously see people walking by in bathrobes, which gives a different dynamic
