Restraurant in Wijk 28 Trade-Port

Ate here last night. What a misery. We took a seat inside. Received the menu card. We were not asked if we wanted something to drink. Have to call the server himself. There were no other guests present, we were the only ones. Order was taken and we asked if we could sit outside because of the heat inside. That was no problem. After a long time the food came. 2 pizzas and a salad. Tuna salad, no inspiration at all, way too expensive for what it was. Pizza 28b without onions was a calzone with chicken, which was not fully cooked, mushrooms that were still raw. Inside the calzone there was also a boiled egg!!! Another pizza was one with kebab. Little taste. Went here once years ago and it wasn't a success then either. The bill was €40.50. When paying, it was said that we had eaten quickly, to which I indicated that it was terrible. Then we went around the corner to the chip shop. It was busy there.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat, was received wonderfully and served incredibly kindly. For me, the day was instantly made right again.

Absolutely disappointing. There were four of us at this restaurant, and three out of four agreed that the food was on par with frozen meals. Barely seasoned, some pizzas had cold toppings, etc. The prices are definitely too high for what you get. The food also took an unreasonably long time to prepare, even though the restaurant wasn't even full. Never again. It's a shame, because the seating area itself is actually quite pleasant.

Unfortunately, I have to update my review (13-08-2026). Lunch 10-08-2026; Total 4 stars; Food 5 stars. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. We had a delicious lunch at Restaurant De Kloosterhoeve. Friendly staff and a very friendly chef/owner with whom we had a nice conversation. Reserved for dinner today, 13-08-2026. Anyway, the terrace was packed as well. Dinner; Total 3 stars. Food 2 stars. Service 3 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Dinner reception was fine. We skipped an appetizer. The meat from the mixed grills was super dry, probably pre-cooked. Advice: don't do that again and ask the guest how they want their meat cooked. Communication during service was not very smooth and a few mistakes were made. The majority of the staff are foreign, which shouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately, things didn't go entirely smoothly. All in all, it is a shame; while lunch was so fantastic, dinner is somewhat disappointing. Hopefully, this will be addressed in the future!

We waited 10 minutes to get a menu. Nobody came, so we went inside and got one ourselves. Then we waited another 10 minutes to order, but nobody came, so we left. It wasn’t exactly prime time either—there were only five tables occupied. It’s a pity that this restaurant isn’t really being taken care of, as the location is really nice.
