Havana in Binnenstad

My friends and I went to this place for a drink and were delighted by the positive reviews. We went with the intention of having a drink and snacks, so we didn't use the kitchen itself. The selection of drinks is really large; we each tried two, but the price, quality, and size don't match. We've tried the nachos in many places, but these didn't impress us; they were dry and bland. The service was okay and helpful, and we were delighted with the atmosphere inside, and the decor itself. It's truly impressive.

February 13, 2022 Went again. Ordered two cocktails: a Martini and a Daiquiri. And unfortunately, it was just awful again. It starts with the name, Martini...well, that's a brand of vermouth, NOT a cocktail. The "Dry Martini," "Vesper Martini," and "Espresso Martini," for example, yes! The menu said shaken, not stirred. Okay, so they mean the "James Bond" Martini, the Vesper—or the Vodka Martini. The Vesper is made with gin, vodka, and Kina Lillet, or Lillet blanc. Nope, not this one!! Is a Vodka Martini a dry Martini made with vodka instead of gin? Not either. DRY, made with dry vermouth, like Noilly Prat or Martini EXTRA DRY!!! NOT the Martini Bianco, which is sweet! And what are they making here... a mix of the elements you absolutely should NOT combine, namely gin with sweet vermouth, Martini Bianco. It completely misses the point!!! They also didn't ask for a lemon twist or olive. And then this drink is also classified as a bitter drink... Spicy because of the gin distilled with botanicals, and the spiciness of the vermouth would be correct. But bitter??? Another strangely off element with Havana. Does anyone actually have a "benchmark" for taste? Where does the bitter element come from? The Daiquiri, after 2 seconds you can hear all the ice in the shaker breaking into small pieces. A sign that you should stop shaking! But they're still shaking merrily for a good 10 seconds. This completely waters down my drink. Then they put it aside until the "Martini" is ready, which is possible if you use really good ice, but clearly not here! Then they shake it again... Drink gone... What's left is a watery drink that's almost a parody of a Daiquiri. What cocktail blunders. I try it regularly, but how is it possible that the knowledge and skills here remain so lacking? Disinterest? Really, I don't know any better? And then the "waiter" wanted to explain to me that there are two types of Martinis... I already explained that to my children when they were 9. Well-intentioned, probably. But first... You should ask for "Gin martini or Vodka martini," then specify the ratio you prefer. Montgomery, for example, or the usual 3:1 ratio, or the more common 5:1 ratio these days. And finally, ask for the garnish. Lemon twist or olive? It's all super easy. Nothing complicated about it; this is really just the basics of cocktail making/bartending. Yet, it doesn't work here. How is that possible?

About six years ago, we loved coming here, quite regularly. We recently went back, and we'll NEVER go back. It was a hot day, and we sat outside for dinner. We already knew what we wanted to order, so we ordered our food along with our first drink. We had to wait exactly an hour for it, even though the terrace was more than half empty (not a good sign). In the meantime, we ordered two more drinks, which unfortunately didn't arrive, so that didn't help either. My boyfriend had the Surf & Turf. This is generally a very filling meal. There were a total of three small slices of roseval potatoes and four shrimp on a rather small plate next to the pork belly. And that for over 25 euros. Never experienced anything like this before. He was simply still hungry afterward, while my tortillas with chicken thighs filled a pan. The waitress was already getting complaints from the table next to us, and we didn't see her again. I don't think she even dared to come outside. And the most bizarre thing? There's an older woman walking around (not wearing work clothes, so maybe she's a manager? I sincerely hope not for the sake of the business), and after we commented on the very small portion, she started stammering and said, "Uh, yeah, uh, uh... it's really good pork belly!" Man, I suppose I should always assume that you serve good food, right? What a terrible excuse. Even during the long wait, she didn't make eye contact once, and we didn't get an explanation for the delay. Or did we even get our drinks?! This woman should be ashamed of herself and find another job ASAP.

Just wrong! Staff shortage? People are leaving. Service takes ages, and the prices are too high for what you get. Not recommended anymore. A toasted sandwich for €10.00. Come on.

We went there today, what a nuisance. We waited a long time for a few toasted sandwiches and fries, and then we got the food, which was terrible. Then we got our drinks. Two people got them from a jar with a lid, which looked nice, but the apple and orange juice had mold on the bottom. It was disgusting. I'll never, ever go back. And the prices are also expensive.

I've been coming here for a long time; the last visit was a complete disaster. This time, there wasn't much that went wrong, and the food was delicious.

Nice food, good prices, great staff. We had a limited time because we needed to go somewhere else afterwards. That was no problem at all, we got served mains and cocktails and were out the door at the time we'd communicated. Very welcoming!

Lots of choice and tasty dishes, attractive decor, well priced, worth repeating.

Ended up here after a night out. Nacho dish just like that, but quite large in size! Cocktails were delicious.

Delicious food, quick service and nice atmosphere

what a nice tooko you can drink nice beer there staff is friendly until you get closer to the food then you can wait more than 1+ hours and then you get a cold rib eye. When you indicate this, they give you the option to heat them up because they no longer have any other ribeyes available. Then you get a ribeye from the microwave and the rest of the dish is downright cold. We are poorly listened to when indicating that the meat is cold.

Delicious food, very friendly staff. Burger was fine, nothing to complain about but nothing special either. Salad was some lettuce leaves with cucumber and some fries. Fine for the price, but as mentioned, no special features in terms of food.

Limited choice on the dinner menu. It was very quiet (more staff than guests), which made the atmosphere a bit special.

Een rijkelijk belegde en smaakvolle lunch van de niet zo grote menukaart. Bediening was vriendelijk maar niet aanwezig.

We tried the cocktail guessing game and it was pretty cool. 4 secret fullsized cocktails for 30 euros, or for free if you guessed them right 😉

Beperkte kaart maar wat er op staat is gewoon goed. Eten smaakte ook goed. Uitgebreide cocktail kaart. Service is goed. Personeel is snel en vriendelijk.

Recent een vrijgezellenfeest bij Havana georganiseerd, ontzettend leuke dag gehad! Eerst een cocktailworkshop en vervolgens een salsa workshop, voornamelijk de salsa workshop was ontzettend leuk. Een leuke leraar die goed met de groep omging. En nog heerlijk gegeten. Dankjewel voor de leuke middag, aanrader!

Voor een echt buitenlands gevoel. Kwam hier al jaren geleden. Onlangs weer geweest en niks veranderd. Nog steeds een must go als je in de buurt bent.

Leuk restaurant en goed aangekleed in de havana sfeer. Vriendelijke bediening en goed eten!

Zoals op de foto te zien is, is het glas niet helemaal vol. Erg jammer, verder goede service en sfeer en lekkere cocktails

Ik ben geen grote eter, maar de portie was voor mij te klein. (Vegetarische Enchilada)

Het eten was wel oké maar geen hoog staande culinaire ervaring. Ook duurde het erg lang voor dat het drinken gebracht werdt ondanks het er niet erg druk was.

Niet gereserveerd, maar toch een fijn plekje ondanks dat het wel druk was. Service is snel en goed. Twee tips voor Havana: - na het hoofdgerecht bestelden we koffie en thee. Het is fijn als dit tegelijk met het toetje wordt gebracht. Nu kregen we eerst thee en koffie en moesten we daarna nu best lang wachten op het toetje. - de toiletten zijn best vies en echt al heel oud. Hier kan wat ons betreft wat aan gedaan worden.

Aangezien Havana door personeelsgebrek minder vaak open is verwacht je in ieder geval hoge kwaliteit. Dat maken ze helaas niet meer zo waar.

Personeel is echt goud waard. Hele persoonlijke ervaring. Wij komen hier nog vaak terug!

Heerlijk eten. De kaart heeft keuze voor elke trek. Het terras is ruim opgezet, zodat de gasten elkaar op geen enkele manier in de weg zitten. De kinderen kregen meteen kleurplaten en stiften. Zelfs de hond kreeg direct een grote bak vers water geserveerd. Hier eten is op alle mogelijke manieren een traktatie.

Prima eetgelegenheid met goedkope menus en prima kwaliteit en vriendelijk personeel

Had my birthday-dinner with family here. Excellent food, friendly staff. They even managed to make our traditional family-shot (B52) even though it was not in the menu pretty good!
