This was supposedly supposed to be “tuna”. For this price, you should have better food quality.

- Delivery took 2.5 hours. - Communication is impossible. The phone is not answered. The timer just keeps going up instead of down. No updates from the company. - Half of the order was not delivered (the most expensive part was not delivered). - The quality of the sushi that was delivered is poor. It is hard and dried out. - Thrown everything away immediately and ordered somewhere else before we get sick from this.

So, it’s just the worst restaurant ever. I just called. I want to cancel my order. He says: I can’t cancel the order. You have to send an email. He says, then he gets angry and then he says: yeah, then you shouldn’t order if you do cancel. Then you had the phone.

Delicious fresh food, prepared quickly by the lovely chefs. Definitely recommended and I will be back very soon!!

Really delicious sushi! Every time!

Tasteless sushi. Even though the sushi was still a bit warm, so fresh, when it arrived. Ordered via Uber to try it out. It was the first and last time. As a sushi lover, I regularly eat sushi at various places and have tried quite a few. This is truly the worst in ages, with some rolls containing boiled salmon/chicken inside, which are completely inedible. So tasteless, too. We didn't finish it in the end; it was that bad. Considering the prices they charge and what you get for it, I wouldn't order there! You can get so much better elsewhere. Even fresh sushi from Jumbo/AH or from YO’s—that chain at central stations—is tastier and cheaper. How dare they call this sushi? Scandalous! (I have honestly had stomach problems since eating there).

I ordered for €36 sushi at Hayai The Hague on June 8th. It took 2h for it to arrive, I had to call the store multiple times and the delivery guy called me to tell me he got lost and he’d be there in 10 mins. That was a lie because he didn’t arrive for 1 whole hour. So my sushi, when it finally arrived, was soggy and not fresh at all! I’ve emailed and called multiple times since then with my complaint and that I want my money back. Only this week, over one month later, I got an email back that I can get an €8.55 (??) discount, which is the most random amount. The customer service is terrible and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone knowing how they treat people.

I have ordered from this place very often, and at the beginning everything went just fine, but after a while the service started to get very bad. Once I ordered for my uncle and he fell asleep, and then he told me that I wasn't allowed to order anymore at all, even though I literally ordered food from them almost every day. I even offered to have the delivery person come back with the order and that I was willing to pay extra, but they refused. After a while, I placed another order, and then he called me and we resolved it. After that, I ordered again, and since then everything has gone wrong. I always ordered a poke bowl, ebi tempura with chicken and shrimp and just avocado, and I always wrote that down clearly. Either the order wouldn't arrive until after an hour, or they were doing it wrong. The last time I ordered, I asked on the phone how long it would take, and he said 30-40 minutes. In the end, I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes, and then I called to ask how long it would take, and he said that the delivery person still had to come back to the place and that he would only leave then. I sounded irritated, and I asked if I could cancel it then, and he initially said no, that isn't correct, while I had to wait a total of 2 hours, causing me to hang up the phone irritated. I waited another 15-20 minutes and then called again, and he said you had hung up, so I thought you didn't want it anymore, even though I never said "cancel it, I don't want it anymore." Eventually, after 2 hours, the delivery person arrived with cold sushi and a cold pokebowl, again with beans and cucumber, which I hate, even though I clearly wrote it down, and I paid with 50, which I clearly indicated. He gave me 20 euros in coins of 2 euros, 1 euro 50 cents, and 20 cents. When I wanted to call to say that there were wrong things in the pokebowl, I was blocked and could no longer call that number. Disgusting people working on the phone and delivery drivers who always bring too little money so they can then pocket it themselves. Don't order here because they are full of themselves, even though I myself worked at Hayai Sushi in Delft. Disgusting!!!

I ordered sushi, but unfortunately had to wait longer than two hours. When I wanted to call the restaurant, I couldn't get anyone on the line after multiple attempts. When the sushi arrived, the salmon was not cold, but lukewarm.

Worst delivery service! Too often more than an hour late. If you call, you get a rude response. Telling me not to whine so much. If you can't deliver, then don't offer it. I usually order from Naaldwijk and that one is much better.

I don't understand why you call a California handroll that when it's just rice with a whole crab stick and a slice of avocado? No eggs, nothing. And the California rolls aren't really covered in those same eggs on the outside either. Are you guys saving money or something? Plus, we mentioned we were a party of 5, but we only got chopsticks twice. Yeah, sorry, but that's a stingy business. Never again.

During my stay in The Hague, I ordered food from Hayai Sushi. The sushi was really better and tastier than expected. The delivery was fast, and the delivery driver called politely to let the reception know the food had been delivered. All in all, a super good experience!

After ordering from them via the app, they mistakenly withdrew the amount from my account twice. I went to the store and was told I'd get my money back in three days. After a month, I still haven't received my money, so I went to the store in person again. This time, they told me I had to email the store owner and they'd get back to me within five days. Nothing. Another 15 days have passed, and in total, they haven't refunded me my money for two months. The delivery platform confirmed they paid you twice, even though I only ordered one. This is a scam. :) I'll never order again.

We've been ordering from here for years as regular customers, but lately, the pieces in a roll have suddenly become much smaller. Yesterday was the worst. The rolls only partially filled the containers (which are normally full) and were a third smaller than before. The pieces in the special (expensive) rolls were less than a centimeter thick. Very disappointed in this kind of hidden shrinkflation. Then raise the prices so customers can make an informed decision about whether it's still worth it.

Ordered last Saturday at 6 p.m., called at 8 p.m., but couldn't get through. We've since eaten something else. The order arrived at 9 p.m., but we didn't accept it. Since then, we haven't been able to get in touch by email.

The food was delivered more than 35 minutes late, which was a bit of a shame as it was already 8:20 pm and I had ordered it at 6:41 pm, which is a real shame as the price-quality ratio of the food was excellent!

Absolutely horrendous. I ordered what was supposed to be a soft shell crab roll...I cannot even imagine what was in that roll. Have a look yourself. I'm seeing all the bad reviews, which I'm really surprised by!! I order here often and always find the sushi and crispy chicken curry bowl super delicious and good quality, oh yeah, and inexpensive... I easily get a stomachache from bad food, and I've never had that from this place. I live nearby, but my order arrived super fast... absolutely no complaints. When something went wrong with one of the many orders, I was able to resolve it with the person on the phone. All in all, a friendly staff member and good food for the price!

Seems to be mainly delivery. We saw three delivery guys waiting outside - lots of reviews with complaints about deliveries taking a long time. Delivery often takes more than 2 to 3 hours longer than the order. This isn't indicated anywhere beforehand. When I called the branch, there was no answer.

Yes, they're sometimes late. And yes, they really need to fix that. But name me one place where you get 64 sushi (plus 30 free), so over 100 pieces, for €48 including shipping. The quality is excellent. I'm happy to wait, but I'll try to fix it, guys.

Delicious food and fast delivery

Placed an order on July 2nd. Paid €51.11. Received nothing. Called. No answer. Emailed the next day. No response. Went there in person. "Yes, you'll get your money back." Still no answer. Called again; "Yes, you'll hear from us." Finally, three weeks later, they finally agreed to deliver the food, but refused to refund the money. I live alone; I had visitors at the time. I'm not going to make my visitors wait hours for food again. People order food so they can get it within an hour. If that doesn't work, you can expect someone to answer the phone. Think twice before you go with this company.

Ordered yesterday, July 9, 2025, and didn't receive anything. Called today, and the receipt didn't arrive until the next morning. But no one bothered to look into it or call. You have to do this yourself. The compensation offered is also laughable. If you want good food and to receive your order, don't choose Hayai. I ordered sushi, and two rolls were missing. Of course, I called immediately. Unfortunately, after 15 minutes, the phone rang and nobody answered. My attempt was abandoned.

What a horrible place. I had ordered sushi and after waiting for two hours I called to ask how long it would take. The man on the phone said it would be there in twenty minutes… In the end it didn’t arrive until three hours later. And they should have turned off the phone. The food was downright disgusting. Was there salmon in the sushi that was left over? And tuna that was out of date, hidden under a layer of sauce so that you can’t see the color but as soon as you turn it over…

I ordered sushi today, if I had known, I would have indicated cash and not paid. The order came 2 hours later, the rice was falling apart, the fish was not fresh, after this sushi, my stomach started to hurt, I wouldn't be surprised if I picked something up. Not only that the sushi was terrible, the courier demanded a tip. Next time I order, I will indicate that I want to pay in cash, if the situation is like today, I will not pay, the courier will be in trouble (I will beat him up). Ordered sushi at 17:20 via thuisbezorgd. At 19:45 the food is still not there. We had an order for 2 people so not even that much. Tried calling many times and they only answered after 15 times. The food was supposed to be on its way but it is still not there.

Very bad experience We ordered sushi and only received the food three hours later. Tried calling dozens of times, but the restaurant was completely unreachable. In the end we got two small bowls of sushi for a whopping €45 - outrageous for the price and the service. Definitely not recommended.

Simple order of 2 Poké bowls took 2 hours to deliver. This restaurant does not use Thuisbezorgd delivery staff and clearly has a capacity problem. Also zero communication about the delay. When it was delivered, we had already eaten a sandwich and were no longer hungry for the meal that had been delivered. It was well past dinner time.

They are always, always, always hours late!

Ordered at 6:15 PM. I called the company several times, about 14 times, but unfortunately I could not be reached. Tried again, the gentleman indicated that he did not know what time the delivery would arrive. The order was already ready and would be delivered as soon as possible. However, after 45 minutes, there was still no food or delivery person in sight. I contacted him again and the gentleman more or less pushed it my way and I had to understand this. They wouldn't call every customer for a 5 to 10 minute delay. Sure I understand that, but before 2:15 am, I expect this. Home delivery also indicates that delivery can take a maximum of 55 minutes. Employee on the line, couldn't end the conversation normally and hung up angrily! Too bad, I hope the restaurant will really do something about their service!!

MEDIUM SUSHI, LATE DELIVERY Yakitori is tasty, but sushi is mediocre. We ordered the day before to ensure the sushi arrived on time, but it was 40 minutes late for our party.

Delivery took 95 minutes! Food was cold, prawn crackers old and tough and edemama beans not in skin and without salt. Don't do that, unfortunately they were at the top in Thuisbezorgd for me.

I understand that it is busy on Valentine's Day, but without any interim communication, delivery of care at 11:30 am that was ordered at 8:30 am, registered as delivered in the home delivery app at 9:30 am, also not answering the phone in the meantime and not even an apology, let alone any other form of compensation. Downright bad.

Placed an order online 2 days ago for Boxing Day. The order was delivered on time and tasted delicious! You can also take advantage of the free roll promotion despite the holiday. I will definitely order here again.

I order from here regularly because in this economy, their prices are really hard to beat. If you order from the website directly you get some good added food perks. The rolls are pretty substantial as well. Downside? Once you submit your payment it's in god's hands. You have no idea when your food will show up, and there is no way to know. I've never been in a situation where I've never gotten my food, but my wait times have varied from 1-2 hours. For the price, I really can't complain and it's a choice I am willing to make when I'm not in a rush.

I literally waited 2 and a half hours. on my crispy box and spring rolls. everything was freezing and filthy. the spring rolls looked like they had been baked yesterday. the crispy sushi was ice cold and looked dirty. My food was delivered 4 hours later and the reason was “due to holidays” (it's NOVEMBER!!!). We have been ordering every 2 months for years, but for the first time we have experienced delivery 4 hours later. We also tried to call after the first 3 hours but they were reachable outside. It would be nice if they had let us know that they were a little late. I had also indicated that 4 people would eat with me, but I still received 1 soy sauce and 2 wasabi less!

The order took over 3.5 hours to arrive. Every time I have ordered I have waited at least 40 minutes, for my order placed today there is an hour delay and I have already made 10 calls for information without any response.

They said they are open at midday, but when I called, the employee told me that they always come at 12:30 and then prepare the food. When I asked why did they put midday but the employees come at 12:30? The person said “it is what it is”Same like those prior reviews, the delivery (even via Thuisbezorgd) takes very late up to and hour. They also put up in Thuisbezorgd details that the earliest order will be delivered at 12:45. Which is impossible knowing the fact the employees come at 12:30. He (the person on the phone) didn’t even apologize.
