Peaceful, good food and excellent service

We go there quite often. Friendly service. Various sandwiches; we chose a tuna sandwich. Had a good meal.

The price-quality ratio has deteriorated enormously in recent years, unfortunately. Paying a lot for a small dish. Small hamburger, no salad on the side, nothing. Nutella costs €3 with a kids' pancake 😳 No, unfortunately we won't be popping over to Het Sonnetje anytime soon. For the same money, you could be at a 'regular' restaurant.

While cycling from the Europort to Gouda I stopped for lunch and tinselled from the rain, despite it not opening for 30 minutes, they let me sit and wait, lovely welcome and very clean facilities bathroom spotless and food fresh and lovely Ill be certain to be back on my next trip and highly recommend it to other cyclists making the trip and looking for a stop 1-2 hours after leaving the ferry

What a wonderful place. From the moment you walk in, you feel that this is not a standard restaurant, but a genuine family business where everything revolves around hospitality, attention, and quality. You see this reflected in everything: from the welcome to the service and the atmosphere in the establishment. The pancakes are simply top-notch, but what makes it truly special are the people. Genuinely friendly, committed, and visibly proud of what they do. Here, people don't "work"; here, they make sure you feel welcome. That is precisely why it is almost incomprehensible that there are negative reviews here and there that do not correspond at all with what you experience here. Anyone with even a little understanding of the hospitality industry immediately sees how much work, passion, and dedication goes into such a family business. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way guests are treated here is simply how it should be. For me, this is the kind of place you love to return to and recommend with conviction. Honest, warm, and simply very good.

It is always nice to eat here, especially now that they have new playground equipment for the children. I do find the prices on the high side, so it is not affordable for everyone. Other than that, it is a very nice place.

Pannekoek boerderij is a small restaurant. It looks very cozy. The pancakes look light; they weren't cooked long enough. It's a fun location for children; the playground is very nicely designed. Parking is not a problem. The staff is very friendly.

Had eaten delicious pancakes before, so expectations were high. Recently had high tea with girlfriends. We were already sitting right next to other visitors. The tables are so close together that once you sit down, you just have to stay seated. After 4 cups of tea, some snacks finally arrived. A tiered stand with very small savory snacks and others with sweet ones. Cream puffs, mini brownie pieces, a few macarons, and a mini donut. The mini sausage rolls from Lidl are bigger. A bowl of soup and 1 pancake cut into pieces for the 6 of us. The tea was barely refilled, so we had to make do with one tea bag several times. We asked for new tea and everyone got 1 bag. The price-quality ratio is completely out of proportion. We walked outside and all six of us indicated that this is not a good place for high tea.

Very expensive, €20 for two cappuccinos and two apple pies

Price-quality ratio is not right. Atrium between 2 buildings is very cold. Irish coffee €9.50 and cold at that, plus a stroopwafel thrown into a glass. Not a place I would return to. There are better ones in the region, such as Soete Suikerbol Pijnacker bv.

Not recommended, one star for the service. Pancakes were burnt. It was mentioned, however, that if ours were too badly burnt, we could get another pancake. Even the children's pancakes were black on the bottom but were served anyway (we sent these back and received a (cold) new pancake in return). After repeated emails, because I don't like giving a negative review, not a single response.

What a wonderful experience at Sonnetje Pancake Restaurant! Both the pancakes and the sandwiches were delicious. The lactose-free pancake was surprisingly good, a huge plus. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and proactive in helping us. The cozy atmosphere and children's play area make this restaurant perfect for relaxing and catching up. We also enjoyed a fun scavenger hunt and coloring page, which the little one thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be back!

Last week we celebrated Grandma's birthday at Sonnetje's, and it was wonderful! The atmosphere was warm and cozy, just what you want for a family gathering like this. The food was delicious, and the pancakes were especially popular with everyone! Everything was well-organized, and the cozy atmosphere made it complete. Highly recommended for a lovely, relaxing afternoon with the whole family. We'll definitely be back!

My pancake was fill with "honey " to the point of my stomach to be so bad . But still ehave to pay even dough i was pucking in the toilets. Way to expensive for what we have in general.

Spontaneously went to "het Zonnetje" to enjoy each other's company. It was lovely sitting outside.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has been somewhat variable for the past two years. Sometimes it's just good, but sometimes it's a bit disappointing. You should be able to expect a reasonably standard quality of the pancakes in particular (it's essentially a pancake house, after all), but unfortunately, that's been a bit inconsistent lately. Sometimes they were undercooked, and other times they were burnt. The same goes for the rest of the dishes. Perhaps they've added a bit too much variety to the menu for one chef? The spareribs looked like they'd just been deep-fried, the hamburger was too raw and on a soggy bun... a shame, because the atmosphere and service are generally always good.

We received a warm welcome. Then we went to the dining area, which was quite noisy. After 15 minutes, they came to take our drink orders. These were brought quite quickly, after which we could immediately place our orders. It took 45 minutes for them to be served. All in all, you should expect to wait an hour before you can eat. The hamburger buns were probably stuck somewhere; they were completely crumpled. The satay pancake was burnt. I don't know if it's due to a shortage of staff or the attention and love in the kitchen, but it's certainly been better in the past. It's a shame, I hope other guests can convince me to eat there again in the future. I'm still giving it 3 stars.

The so-called "homemade" apple pie was definitely not homemade, but just your standard frozen pie from the restaurant. A small glass of tap water with coffee is also too much to ask; they don't do that. Such a shame.

The pancakes didn't taste like they should; they felt like they were made of cardboard, almost crispy, and the bottoms were burnt. No fresh cherries, just from a jar or can. Last time we were here.

Unfortunately, the pancake machine was broken. I ordered a salad, but it wasn't a success either. They call it a salad with chicken. It looks like haute cuisine, and chicken on a bed of lettuce from an Albert Heijn package. So bad, definitely not a meal. It would be more suitable as an appetizer. Furthermore, the chicken was cold, tough, and dry. It looked like it had been previously cooked and had been in the refrigerator for days. I filed a complaint, and I'll pass it on to the kitchen; that was it.

Recently, I went for dinner with my 81-year-old mother on a hot day. We reserved a table in advance to ensure we had a spot. Upon arrival, we had to sit outside. It was over 30 degrees Celsius! Our request to sit inside was denied. Initially, they offered the excuse that it was much warmer inside than outside, which turned out to be completely untrue. The real reason? The manager had forbidden us from using the indoor area! I'll definitely never go back to this unfriendly restaurant/owner. It's a shame, because the food was excellent.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't what I expected. Fries came in a basket, and some pieces weren't quite cooked through. The chicken satay came in a pot that had clearly been simmering for an hour. The chicken was dry, and the peanut sauce was thick and sparse. It had been better on previous visits.

Delicious pancake! The cheese with ginger is highly recommended. A few tips: add a little salt and (vanilla) sugar to the batter. And maybe use a bit more butter or fat, because the pancake was a bit dry.

Quite strange what I had on a pancake there but okay to have tried it next time I will go for Egyptian and Indian pancakes and I will try one of those 2 because I know how goat cheese and brie taste and you know for sure that you are good but I like to try it out whether it is good or not sometimes I do not mind at all but I did not expect a pizza box but a smaller box but in any case it was a box and that is what it is all about in the end

Had lunch. I had a well-filled, hearty farmer's omelet on brown bread, served with a small fresh salad. Real fresh orange juice. The pancake was decent but not outstanding. Lots of young people there, so not recommended for a quiet lunch. The price is reasonable. I recently had a quick bite. The pancake with apple, raisins, and bacon was excellent and a generous size this time. I also had a delicious and well-filled pulled chicken sandwich.

It's a shame this nostalgic place lacks helpful staff. After asking for the menu after 20 minutes, which didn't arrive for another 10, we then waited another hour for our pancakes. They had been taken to another table. Incredibly poor staff and no service. We left without a pancake.

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday evening without a reservation. There was a large, noisy group in the conservatory, so we got a table inside. We quickly ordered a drink and a main course. We had to wait a long time for the main course, which was lukewarm. I told the waitstaff. They said they would discuss it with the kitchen. Never heard anything back. Poor value for money. Small portions for the price we paid. After ordering dessert, we had another long wait. We cancelled our dessert and paid for it. We discussed our complaints. It was due to a large group. Not true. It all comes down to motivation, dedication, and the right attitude. That's gone. For years, it was a great place to be. Something has changed, and not for the better.

Great place, shame about the service. We understand very well that there is a staff shortage in the catering industry and really do not have high expectations, but it took a very long time before drinks arrived. Then it took a very long time before the order was taken and when the order finally arrived, the pancake for daughter turned out to be burnt, which made her wait even longer. We were also not allowed to sit on a certain part of the terrace, because it turned out to be closed. Fine for us. Only later people were allowed to sit while there were still many empty seats. 6 p.m. table reserved outside, table inside upon arrival. Ask at 6.45 pm if you can order food. Ordered food at 6:50 PM. 7.30 pm still no pancake. 7.45 pm finally pancakes that were not cooked properly. The service really did their best, but the kitchen clearly cannot handle the number of tables in the restaurant! Unfortunately, this was the 3rd time in a row that there was a very long wait with small children! Children can play there. The special beer also ran out at some point, and coloring pages for children also ran out. Hand soap and drying wipes in the toilet were out. I often enjoyed eating and sitting here here in the past. Unfortunately I won't be returning after this.

Last weekend I cycled the Elfdorpentocht and then had a beer. The first beer was still neatly in a glass, the second in a plastic cup. THAT WAS REALLY A TURN-OFF, THIS IS REALLY NOT POSSIBLE.

Hi, today we stoped by and had coffee and cake and as we were a big group one person paid the bill. However looking at the bill now I see you charged 7€ for a flat white coffee. Is this really the price? I am very much shocked by this price for one coffee.

The 12 hours are very bad in terms of quality and quantity. The soup that was served with it (vegetable) was bland. Can be dissolved with salt, but no soup taste was recognisable. Warm water with vermicelli and 1 large ball. Furthermore, it was unpleasantly spicy. Toast was burnt on one side, cheese was very tasty. Children's pancake was dry, we suspected it had been warmed up. Outer edge burned at the bottom. For our last time Sonnetje. Quality is no longer what it used to be.

Been coming there for years and it remains one of the best pancake restaurants in the region, the food is excellent and the service is excellent, and if it's your birthday the service is absolutely great, a special thank you from my daughter who thought it was fantastic and a big paw from the dog because she was also very welcome, highly recommended thnxs for the nice evening, keep it up

Het Sonnetje is an established name in Maasland, known for its delicious pancakes. However, the price-quality ratio has been declining for years. The house pancakes are sparsely filled, portions are small. It is often very busy so you sometimes have to wait a little longer, but that in itself is not a big deal. Management often walks around the place angry, very inhospitable, but luckily you as a guest have nothing to do with that.

Atmosphere only three stars. That's only because it was very quiet, we were late and almost alone in the restaurant. For the rest completely fun and delicious.

We had made a reservation for 4.45 pm, but after asking 3 times we did not receive the pancakes until an hour later. The food was fine, but it was more than clear that we were always forgotten. Me and the children had seen it by then, there was no point in having to wait another half hour for a desert. The burger tasted very good as always. But I really miss something on the side, like some salad as before. Areas for improvement? Speed ​​in the kitchen and attentive staff. But no, I won't be back. Had to wait way too long even though we had made an early reservation.

The location is great...lovely outside in the sun. The drink came quickly...the farmer's pancake took more than 50 minutes. Big apologies...the order did not go through. In the end we didn't have to pay for the 2 pancakes that came more than 1 hour later. She tasted delicious! That made up for everything and because we were sitting comfortably we thought it was a nice compensation.

Had lunch here with a friend this afternoon, August 11. Good parking, a beautiful garden terrace with shade and sun. The service was very friendly and fast. You were seen and approached by them. My bacon and cheese pancake was absolutely perfect. Well cooked, well topped and generous in size. My wife and our friend both had a goat's cheese salad. A large goat cheese salad with fresh and beautiful ingredients. Add a cup of tea and fresh orange juice and we had a perfect lunch. This is a nice place to come back and have a nice lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.
