We come back here every year for Boxing Day dinner. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere with affordable food. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was nice, a spatious restaurant especially for team restaurants. Attentive service. Kasjranje soup and baked cod really tasty, vanilla strudel really 1/5.

We eat at Humphrey's Amsterdam very often; after a hectic day at work, it's like a warm bath! Excellent service, top-notch hospitality staff, a very relaxed atmosphere, and the food is perfect. A varied menu with a wide selection—it couldn't be better. We hope to continue eating here for many years to come. Thank you for all the wonderful meals!

We ordered the dinner menu and it was amazing. When I told them I don’t eat pork, they removed it from my plate just for me, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Everything was incredibly delicious and the staff were unbelievably kind. I will definitely come again.

Brilliant staff and service, even better food. Free bread and what I think was aioli on arrival and that was lovely. They were also very quick with bringing over an English menu without us having to ask.

I've eaten there several times. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is also good. The music is too loud and disco-like from the eighties and nineties, which doesn't fit the atmosphere of the otherwise warmly decorated restaurant at all. I've been coming here for decades, and this has always been a problem. I brought it up again. Furthermore, the menu used to change monthly. Now I learn every three months. That's far too long. I eat regularly, but eating almost four times a quarter gets boring, so I won't go there anymore. Unless it changes me again. In this case, that will be at the end of November. Otherwise, it's a very nice place, nice people, good food, and more than enough portions.

Beautiful interior design with a very pleasant atmosphere. Fast and courteous service. The value for money, like the food, is very good. We'd be happy to come back.

Loved the starter, great presentation and great flavors well balanced togheter 8.5 out of 10. Main course i would give 6 out 10 because it was a bit messy , but flavors where almost there. Dessert 9 out of 10.

Two women ate a course meal and two drinks and were full. The course meal costs about 39.50 euros, so if you're going with two people, one course meal and sharing is enough. And the staff's faces are so cute. It's unbelievable. I want to go back just to see the fantastic staff.

The place looks good in pictures and seems fancy, but the food standard here was surprisingly low. I attended a company dinner here and got the vegan/vegetarian options but I can easily say that my colleagues who got the meat options were not happier. We waited unnecessarily long for the food to arrive. The "ramen bullion" was extremely unsatisfying and I can tell hand to heart now that their "pomodori risotto" is the worst risotto I had in my life, if I can call that a risotto in the first place. The rice was dry and almost cold, not creamy at all, while the dish was full of toppings like onion rings and pickled onions which had no reason to be there taste-wise. This points to the general problem that some "restaurants" have: they cannot cook a basic dish properly, but they overcrowd the plate with random stuff to make it feel rich and fancy. On top of that, you get bottled water when you ask for tap water at the table and the wine glasses have a white line so the waiters know how much wine to pour which I found very cheap and aesthetically unpleasant. The most important thing in a restaurant is the food, and, if your taste buds have developed, I can strongly recommend against choosing this place.

Das Humphrey's ist ein Partnerlokal vom Intellhotels Amsterdam Center wo wir das Abendessen im Zuge der Halbpension eingenommen haben. Das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Tisch für 2 nicht zu groß aber absolut ausreichend. Das Abendessen bestand aus einem 3 Gänge Menü zu einem Preis von € 40.- ( Für Amsterdam Centrum günstig) . Die Zusammenstellung des Menüs konnte man aus einer Karte selbst vornehmen. Zu Beginn wurde ein relativ großes selbst gebackenes Brot mit Aufstrich gereicht. Hungrig stellt nach den 3 Gängen niemand auf. Alle Gerichte von sehr gute Qualität. Zu den Hauptgängen werden immer ausgezeichnete Pommes, ein asiatischer Gurkensalat und Apfelmus gereicht, welches man alles so oft man will nachbestellen kann (kostenlos). Von uns eine Klare Empfehlung.

Fui 2 veces, una con una reserva de un grupo grande. El sistema de confirmación y la atención fue muy buena. Tomamos el menú de 3 pasos y la opción vegetariana no me gustó mucho. Volví a ir y pedí un plato a la carta que fue excelente. Volvería a ir y a llevar grupos pero insistiría con la opción vegetariana. El lugar es hermoso.

New favorite restaurant. On our most recent visit to Amsterdam we found ourselves walking around looking for a place to eat a little too late on our first night as kitchens were closing. Luckily we walked into Humphrey's 20 minutes before their kitchen closed. The small seating area was nearly full, with a few tables left. They sat the 2 of us immediately and let us know they would take our orders quickly but that we could stay as long as we'd like. The menu is 3-courses, simple yet eclectic. Everything was phenomenal! We were blown away. So much so that when our 2 family members joined us a week later, we made a reservation to return with them. This 2nd time our table was in a room further into the restaurant. We had no idea during our first visit how big the space actually was. The decor we loved in the entry dining room only got better deeper into the restaurant. The experience and food during our 2nd visit was just as great. Between 2 visits (so far) and 4 people, we tried about half of the menu. It looks like the menu changes often, probably seasonally, so we can't wait to return and try something new. We have no doubt it will be delicious!

The food is great, but incredibly slow service.

We were underwhelmed to say the least. Crowded, noisy place with a menu cynically geared toward tourists. Can’t imagine many locals here. Recommended by our hotel and as it was our first night in lovely Amsterdam we took their advice. Not terrible by any means, just disappointing.

Very nice restaurant, looks great inside, staff friendly and food tastes awsome. Theres a menue with a starter+main+dessert for 40 euro which is really fair for a city like Amsterdam, as the quality of the food is also high. You also receive a big bread with butter before you start(free).

The spicy tomato soup was amazing. Deep fried sushi was too oily and the butternut squash was not peeled which hurt the taste of the rest of the dish. Lots of potential, but the execution was a bit disappointing.

3 very reasonably priced courses. Beautiful selection and all cooked really well. Mixed grill and amazing chicken satay. Cheese to finish (small supplement) and the most gorgeous meringue semifredo. Definitely be back.

Back in town, we visited Humphreys with a reservation, and were disappointed by the decline in both food and service. Although we were on time and they weren't serving anyone else, the front desk barely acknowledged us and it was all they could do to point us to a table. We received no menus, no bread, and our beverage order wasn't taken for some time, while tables who arrived after us received all of the above. They still have reasonably priced wine, but the food, when it came, lacked consistency. Some dishes, especially first plates, were still well done, but the mains much less so. For example, a chicken dish which the menu specifically stated contained sun dried tomatoes contained no tomatoes of any sort and accordingly lacked color or flavor. No worries though, the barely touched plate was removed by the staff with no comment or expression of concern, indicative of the indifference that characterized our entire stay. Years ago we considered Humphreys a good time when we were in the Netherlands, but in the last year things have evidently gone down hill with regard to food and service. You still get good sized portions for your money, but you may not wish to eat them, and no one there will care!

Great little place, but plenty of large tables in the back. Great service. The sole was excellent as was the muxed grill.

Food was very good, as others mentioned a 3 course meal for a set price. Table waiters were very friendly and efficient. I have an issue with their seating arrangement though. I made a reservation for a group of 11. The tables could seat 9 ( 1 double table and 2 single ones), they placed 1 extra chair on each side, thereby creating very cramped seating space and 4 people were sitting on 2 table halves. Staff was unwilling to add an additional table. Only after mentioning that we would leave, they placed the additional table, while still muttering objections. I find it really objectionable that the company is trying to put in more people per table to increase yield. The whole discussion ruined the meal for me, but my company enjoyed it. Not sure if I will go there again.

All in all a success, and priced at around €50 per person.

Our best experience in Amsterdam. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look big at all, and the name can be misleading, as if it's some kind of Irish pub. But the restaurant is really big, great design. All the dishes we had were delicious. The meal consists of 3 dishes and there is no option to take just one dish, which is good. All the dishes we had exceeded expectations. The side dishes for the main dishes can be refilled as soon as they run out. We especially liked the apple puree as a side dish. At first it seemed strange because it's so sweet, but it goes great with meat. The service was excellent, the waitresses are constantly running around and trying to please the customers.

Just another great review for this wonderful spot. Located near Central Station, the 3 course 40 Euro special is a great deal. Lots to choose from and so good that we went two nights in a row. Service is great and friendly. If we get to Amsterdam again we will go here for sure.

Io e il mio compagno siamo venuti a cena e ci siamo trovati molto bene. Menù ottimo, location molto bella e personale gentile e disponibile. Consiglio menù da 39.95 euro e in particolare "krokant gefrituurde zalmrol" e "mixed grill".

La de Humphrey fue una experiencia magnífica. El servicio fue encantador. Nadie nos apuró y todo el personal era muy servicial. Hay una comida de 3 platos, pero también puede pedir solo uno o dos de los platos. Las porciones junto con los lados y el pan que se incluyeron fueron sustanciales. ¡Fue tan bueno que volvimos por segunda vez! ¡Una experiencia maravillosa!

Good but expensive for what it is

An absolutely memorable birthday dinner at Humphrey's Restaurant in Amsterdam! Each course — from starter to dessert — was simply exquisite. The starter perfectly whet the appetite, the main course was tasty and mastered to perfection, and the dessert rounded off the meal magnificently. The wine, carefully selected, went perfectly with each plate. A flawless experience from start to finish!

Tourists, keep walking! Sure, this restaurant is cheap, but the quality is disastrous. Tasteless dishes, sloppy presentation, frozen desserts, and ingredients that don’t seem fresh. Even cutlery and napkins are optional here… The only good point: friendly servers, but that’s not enough to save the experience. Honestly, I really, really do not recommend this restaurant!

A real nice place to be. I was there work related but the atmosphere would be perfect for a rendezvous as well. The price - performance ratio is also very good.

The atmosphere is really nice and defined, and the arrangement of the food is Instagram-tastic. Unfortunately, you have to forgive a lot about the rest. They have 3-cource menus only. My starter (spring rolls) was certainly from the convenient store (quite fatty, little to no taste), my main course (tortelloni) absolutely tasteless themselves, the sauce and the salat on that plate made it okay & eatable. As a desert, I got cheese platter from super-market cheese. 2 of 5 were okay-ish, 2 extremly boring, 1 blue cheese so salty, that I got took a single bite only. Service: We were forgotten for the 3rd course (waited 15 minutes, and then we asked), the waiters always asked if its fine, but didn't manage to listen to the response, cutting mid-sentence and apologizing. This doesnt appeal like they take your feedback serious, but as a very efficient / trained way (not!) dealing with criticism. Moreover, we got charged for the bottle water on the table, paid in total p.p. 50+€ which didnt match the food nor the service. This is a tourist trap, it's probably fine for a drink, but I would avoid them for food.

Excellent food and service. 3 course menu was good for €39 but I expected more Dutch cuisine where was more of a world menu. Presented with rye type bread and garlic menu to go with drinks while we waited. All courses were very tasty, in particular the mixed grill was excellent. Unlimited fries and coleslaw if want more but one portion was enough between 2 of us. The trifle was also nice. Would definitely recommend. Booking a table advised as was very busy on Saturday evening 19:00.

I feel the food could be much better to align with the restaurant atmosphere and service. I’ve had Bao Bun with pulled beef and the pulled beef was quite dry as if it has been sitting out to become dry as opposed to not being cooked long enough, then Grilled Turkey Oysters, which were somewhat dry as well and I didn’t like the combination with the pumpkins which didn’t have their skin removed, was just too sweet, and with the sauce as well, not a good combo in my opinion and would’ve opted for maybe something sour with it, and tiramisu with ice cream which was nice

A very nice restaurant in the middle of Amsterdam. It is very stylishly furnished and despite its size it has a great ambience. We really enjoyed the food - the menu selection is excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Later, when the restaurant became fuller, we unfortunately had to wait longer, for example. B. Order drinks. Only the new guests were taken care of. That was a real shame.

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation and generally it was a good one. The service was abit slow but it is a busy place. For couples especially good as the ambience is quite romantic. The food was very very nice can't fault that. However, me and my partner both had mild food poisoning from here. We both had the same meal and both had the same sickness from it. But... i don't mark it down just due to that because the food was so good. People have a bad experience somewhere and immediately assume that the place is awful, but it really isn't. So it wouldn't be fair to give a bed review for a little setback. I would definitely return!

Decepcionante. Había mirado las críticas antes de viajar para tener un lugar reservado, ya que era la noche de San Valentín. Decidió que valía la pena. Restaurante es enorme! Parecía haber un montón de personal, pero un poco por todo el lugar. Nuestro pedido de bebidas se tomó rápidamente, pero luego tuvimos que llamar a alguien para pedir nuestra comida. No se ofrece menú en inglés, pero utilizamos nuestros teléfonos. Los entrantes llegaron 50 minutos después de que nos sentáramos. Bao bollo estaba bien, pero muy seco. Necesita salsa. Ambos tuvimos la lubina para la red, que era encantador, pero la salsa era abrumador - y demasiado de ella. Sólo un montón de pequeños errores. Me equivoqué de bebida en algún momento, tal vez perdido en la traducción. Sin embargo, el personal seguía llevando las cosas a mesas equivocadas. Era como si los números de la mesa estuvieran apagados o algo así. Es extraño. Buena relación calidad @ 39. 95 para 3 platos, pero definitivamente no para nosotros.
