The restautant is very cozy. Service was exceptional, polite and friendly people. We ate pizza with sausage from Tuscany, pasta Karbonara and homemade tiramisu. Everything was very delisious. Recommended!

We enjoyed an incredible meal in this beautiful, cosy Italian restaurant! The food was delicious, homemade and authentic. From the starter to the main to dessert, everything was of the highest quality. The waitress was amazingly efficient and the atmosphere was just lovely. A wonderful dining experience!

We went because of the reviews, and it's nothing like what they say. We ordered two lasagnas that arrived quite burnt on top, a risotto that was okay, and some gnocchi with burrata that were hard, and the burrata didn't even seem fresh. I wouldn't recommend it for the price.

Very tasty place!! I ordered pasta potenza and it was really al dente and full of strong flavors! The service was very kind, the kitchen was a little busy but it was really worth the wait!!

I think my pizza was a frozen pizza.... Honestly, I'm surprised by the positive comments. I am not beeing peaky not had high expectations. But the pizza quality was not acceptable for a restaurant. But I feel a lot of the comments here cannot possibly be from real customers.

A very cozy, pleasant atmosphere, and good service, which is still rare in Amsterdam. The antpasti was superb, and the pasta de la chef was especially delicious. We had a wonderful evening, highly recommended.

I ate here tonight. First, they served stale bread. The four-cheese pizza had red sauce with four? Tasteless cheeses like Emmental. My girlfriend had a pizza on which they forgot to put the arugula. They gave her a sticky bottle of spicy oil for more flavor. Unfortunately, that didn't help either. The staff (except for one young woman) were curt and unfriendly. Never again!

WE LOVE this place! It’s a cozy family vibe and the owner and family is very accommodating. (They’ve been opened for 30 years!!) We’ve come back 3x in the last week because we feel invited and loved! Food: I had the best Risotto of my life here. Risotto fungi. Yum! I cant explain in words. Chef is an amazing man. 👍🏻👏🏻🤌🏻 Service: Excellent!!! The lady is very kind, we were with our 8 months old kid and the baby slept, I noticed that the lady was doing everyting around us quietly so she doesn't wake the baby up. These kind of things makes the places ultra amazing.❤️ Would definitely visit for authentic Italian food again when I am in Amsterdam. Highly recommended.

Yesterday, we ordered six pizzas last minute, requesting they be ready at a specific time. This was no problem. The staff were friendly. We enjoyed the delicious pizzas; they were very good. I highly recommend them.

The host/ owner is really nice, he shared some drinks with us (it was my birthday). The food is definitely worth trying. You can get complementary bread and butter, that was fresh and warm. The menu offers a lot, so ample of choice also vegan and vegetarian.

We had a wonderful meal. The waitress was concerned when half of our spaghetti was still there (delicious, but a large portion for a smaller stomach) and offered to wrap it up. This was very kind of her. Despite the crowd, she still made time for every customer. We felt welcome and would love to come back!

Amsterdams best secret Italian restaurant. Situated centrally in Amsterdam, sat inconspicuously on Utrechtsestraat, this Italian restaurant is one of the best Ive ever had the pleasure of eating at and is priced so very reasonably. It oozes authenticity. The flaming cheese wheel dish is a must have, however the pizza and calzones are equally excellent in their own categories. Chef Joseph epitomises the caricature of a friendly passionate italian chef who shares his love for food with his family and customers. Highly recommend this place, with seating for approximately 30 people, I'd highly recommend booking in advance.

They have gluten-free options, quite a few, although it's true that you have to pay an extra €3-€5 depending on what you order. The pasta in this case was delicious, and you can order any of the pasta options on the menu! 100% recommended.

100% Italian restaurant. Everything was very good. We ordered burrata and tomato ravioli, truffle risotto, and an avocado salad. We were so hungry we didn't take a photo, but it's well worth coming here for a good meal in Amsterdam. The place is small, but they usually have space.

The risotto was decent, and the pizza was average. However, our dining experience was ruined by an older male waiter who was quite rude. We were the only Asians in the restaurant at the time. Despite repeatedly telling him that we were Korean, he would walk past our table, speak to us in Chinese, and laugh in an unpleasant way. We made a complaint, suggesting that this felt like a form of racial discrimination, but we felt completely ignored, perhaps because we were two young women. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. We left our foods. I would advise other Asians (especially Koreans and Japanese) to be aware of this.

I can only say positive things about my experience at Il Boccalino! We arrived with a group of 12 without reservations, and even though the restaurant was already quite full, we were all seated (the super sweet waitress very kindly brought extra chairs and cutlery). And so we had a meal in a cozy, hospitable, and delicious Italian restaurant!

The best restaurant in town! Everything is very tasty, family-run Italian business. Friendly, polite, rasoto, steak is delicious! I recommend it to everyone. The atmosphere is great

We came here for dinner as a couple and were warmly welcomed and served. What we really appreciated was how attentive they were to our vegan requests – they even adapted a dish to make it fully vegan for us. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere very pleasant. We had a lovely evening and would definitely come back if we visit Amsterdam again.

Lovely dinner, we were looking for an Italian authentic experience and that's exactly what we got. Marina upgraded us to the window seat which was very thoughtful. She offered us bread and olives and glad she did as the bread was fresh and warm and perfect to munch on. Thanks for having us, see you next year!

No tap water you have to pay a big price its an italian restaurant but the cocktail are disgustin and you only have a small choice of drink no dessert no Space the restaurant fill really quickly and the portion are really small and its so loud you cant hear yourself and long wait no coming back!!

Excellent food! Probably the best and most authentic Italian pastas I’ve ever had. Staff was lovely and the atmosphere was cosy too.

We looked at the menu, liked it, decided to go to this place. Initially, we were looking for a pizzeria with tables outside, this place caught our eye with a table by the open window, which we also liked. We were immediately invited to this table. But a couple of minutes after we made our order, we were asked to move to another table (referring to a large company that needed to be seated somewhere), closer to the bar. We did not agree, since the initial selection criterion was a table by the window. Our order was brought to us very quickly, there are no complaints about the pizza at all, it was delicious. After which a second waitress came up to us and said that in 30 minutes we would have to vacate the table, since it was booked. I don’t know who didn’t agree with whom, but from the very beginning, our impression of this pizzeria was spoiled by the staff of the establishment itself. It was delicious, but unpleasant. We will not come back again.

This has to be the best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. I’ve tried several other places while on vacation, and nothing compares to the food, hospitality and atmosphere here. I’ll be dreaming of their Gnocchi Speck & Gorgonzola for the foreseeable future.

Super cozy place with a sweet waitress. I ordered a good piece of meat for €30, but unfortunately, there was a LIVE SNAIL in my salad. As compensation, they removed it from the bill (the least they could do). Hopefully, this isn't representative of the kitchen's behavior. But you won't see me back here; my hunger was gone immediately. It's a shame about the unpleasant experience. Compliments again to the friendly waitress who resolved the issue professionally, since, of course, it wasn't her fault.
