Il Duomo in Hoorn

I used to go here with my family, years ago. Unfortunately its not the same anymore. The pizza's are low quality, cheap cheese and a an thick bottom. They play a free spotify list. So every few minutes there's advertising on spotify. The waiter was wearing adidas sandals.. Friendly personal, its unfortunate the only positive I've experienced. Outdated interieur. Overal, bad experience.

The pizzas weren't good. The crust was tough and the flavor was poor. A salami pizza, which is almost undeniable, was very bland and dry. Worst of all: the carpaccio on the carpaccio pizza was green! It looked like it had been cooked through, but it was so bland and dry (and green) that we didn't even eat it. The food was delivered fairly quickly, hence the 2 stars instead of 1.

The interior is dated, but the food remains the most important thing, and this was excellent. The cozy atmosphere. The Italian music immediately made me want to plan my vacation. Free ice cream cake for the 2-year-old, very nice!! Apparently, Tuesday was pizza day, and all pizzas were €7.75. Less than €20 per person, so under €100 for a starter, main course, and dessert for 5 people, including drinks. Where else can you get that?

I've ordered pizza often before... but this was definitely the last time. The pasta was nice and hot, nothing to complain about. The pizza was completely out of heat, and then I called the restaurant and was told... I made the pizza myself, but there's nothing they can do about it. The weather is cold. It's currently 14 degrees outside.

I ordered food through Thuisbezorgd and chose to pick it up. A beautiful restaurant, and the very, very friendly staff handed me my order. The food was more than perfect, with generous portions. Huge compliments!

Good food but I expected a stronger sauce

Order here often and this time extremely bad pizzas were tough dry and cold and little meat on a shawarma pizza!

Dear people of Il Duomo, Thank you very much! We had a delicious meal and enjoyed the hospitality and authentic atmosphere. What started with delicious fresh rolls of pizza dough and great home made herb butter continued with fantastic pizza! Since we had enjoyed the bread with herb butter way too much, we were able to finish it all and we also got our last piece to take home in a pizza box. With very pleasant, good jazz music and very friendly service, it's absolutely great. We will definitely come back!

Bad pizzas, lots of flour on the bottom. Long waiting time, over 1.5 hours. Antisocial employees when we ask where our pizzas are. Then 1 pizza was missing when they got there, it would be delivered after 15 minutes, 40 minutes later still no pizza. Called again and got a big mouth from one of the employees. Never ordering here again. Bad !

We come here to eat several times a year. Normally always good and tasty food. Service could be better, but we think the price reflects this. Tonight we had made a reservation for the three of us. It was extremely busy, the restaurant was full of people waiting. And home delivery orders had priority (in our opinion). After waiting an HOUR for a sandwich as a starter, and it still wasn't there, we left angry. We paid for our drinks. But it's actually scandalous that we had to pay for this. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Ordered several pizzas and Turkish pizzas and no one liked it

Unfortunately, we received the wrong pizza, which can of course happen, so after a phone call a new pizza would be delivered. After an hour I called again...."it's on its way sir"..... After another hour I called again and finally got the right pizza after two hours. A bit of a shame...not a good first experience.

You can enjoy delicious food there and the service is also friendly.

I ordered food here and when I wasn't satisfied with my dish they went to the trouble of making me a pizza and personally delivering it after closing time. The pizza was excellent and if you want to order pizza here then you have come to the right place. Here you know that their first priority is making the customer happy.

Delicious food again. Pizza Carpaccio, pizza salami, fresh large piece of tuna with creamy pepper sauce and a large piece of steak with Gorgonzolla sauce.

Never eaten such a bad hair salon in my life. The rest of the delivered products are undercooked and clearly from the freezer. This with the quality that is lower than an artificial product from the cheapest supermarket in the country, as soon as you would refreeze it after thawing. They earned one star for on-time delivery. But that's only because I can't give 0 stars. Edit: also hair in the food.

Food was good, but the delivery person smoked in the car which made everything smelly.

Order via the site did not arrive so I called, system was broken so they arrived 25 minutes later. Looks neat, we thought, it can happen after all. Only pizzas are cold and 1 wrong one. Well, again, we're not that difficult, so since it was already later, we'll eat it. But then we also have a pizza with spoiled Parma ham. So we will never order again!

Ordered food here, via Uber Eats, and after waiting for 15 or 20 min. the order was canceled. So even though the restaurant is open until 01:00, and I ordered around 22:30, they just canceled without a reason.

Delicious food, it just took a long time before we got our food.

You get the real Italian experience here. The staff is very friendly and the service was fast. The pizza I had was good. A bit greasy, but all in all as I would expect. The Italian beer and desserts reminded me of holidays.

Past performance is no guarantee. Where we previously had a good experience at Il Duomo, it was now a major disappointment for a Saturday when it was very quiet and we no longer had dishes and drinks. Number of times you forgot to drink. Finally, the tiramisu is not good (watery and from the freezer), which can happen, but denying it is not professional. It is a great restaurant for a regular pizza with house wine. For something a little more high-end, go somewhere else.

Waiting a very long time to even place your order...then bread with a hair in it...then...after 45 minutes you couldn't order any food...so you walked away... Never again..what a.shit thing!!

Waiting an hour and a half for two pizzas. One of them was covered on the underside with black soot particles. We threw this pizza away. The peanut butter sandwich was tasty. Wasn't this once a good pizza place? It's a shame, because there is a great lack of that in the region. Maybe a one-time miss?

Good food, but the service could be much better. First drinks were thrown over and then not cleared away. The plates were almost thrown on the table. We tried to make contact several times, but it was difficult. We won't be coming back here again. Service with a smile is an unknown concept here. All in all the food was good, but the service was a major disappointment.

Only go here if you are starving and have no other options. You can get a frozen pizza at the supermarket for €2.50 that is better than what Il Duomo has to offer. Ingredients did not taste fresh, service was not good either. If you want to go to a pizzeria in Alphen, go to Is Morus.

Girl serving after the 3rd day really did her best but was not experienced enough to provide drinks to 6 tables and the kitchen needs 1.5 hours to make 8 pizzas across 6 different tables, which I think was a bit long. The pizza was hot and tasted good.

Had dinner at Il Duomo on a quiet evening. Unfortunately we had to wait more than an hour for 3 pizzas with a maximum of 15 visitors in the restaurant. Then one of the pizzas was undercooked and we had to wait another 15 minutes until it was returned to us. Service also made a mistake in the number of drinks. All in all, a bad experience, which we are certainly not used to from Il Duomo. Still going to another pizza place next time.

Sad display. Good service in itself, but we ordered 2 pizza calzone and received 2 flat, thinly dressed pizzas. Comment: we definitely made a mistake. We could get new ones, but we had already waited an hour. We actually got coffee for free, but had to pay the full price. Once, but never again!
