Indonesisch Restaurant Long Pura in Jordaan

This was our second visit. A very warm and friendly welcome. Attentive service. I don't have much experience with Indonesian cuisine, but I found everything absolutely delicious... the satay sauce is amazing. The food is very spicy, so be careful! 😁

We were a group of 6 and dined here last minute. We ordered the rijsttafel menu €40. Food taste: it was good and you can get the same quality from another Indonesian-run restaurant. Food quantity: it was not worth for the amount that we paid. I do think it will be worth if there are a table of 2 or 4. They won’t give extra food if it’s not enough, but the portions were just too small for bigger groups. Ambience & location: it was good and easily reachable Service: typical Indonesian - warm, friendly and smiling staff Final verdict: it is good for smaller groups, but better to look for other restaurants if you’re a bigger group (4+ pax). You can easily find the same quality and delicious food in another Indonesian-run restaurants. They also do not serve tap water - I always find this a big no as a former restauranteur. I understand that revenue needs to be generated, but no tap water is always a minus for me. It’s 2025 — serve the water when asked.

For me one of the best Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands, even if a bit pricey.

This is really different, it's exactly like what we usually eat in Indonesia, 10000/10, it's the absolute best, the employees are also super friendly, I'm really in love with it💗💗💗

We were advised to try Indonesian cuisine while in Amsterdam and we were so glad that we lucked into Long Pura. Four of us shared a "rice table", a varied assortment of 7 amazingly spiced dishes plus sides. Friendly attentive service, quiet atmosphere, and absolutely delicious food. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is great! You discover Indonesian flavors, but be aware that some dishes are spicy. A wonderful find! Remember to book ahead as people eat very early (6 pm in Amsterdam).

We came here because we thought the reviews on google were good, but we didn’t like it. We like Indonesia food, and we always enjoy the Indonesia food when we visit Amsterdam. Unfortunately the one we used to go is closed. The taste of the food here is not as tasty as the one we’ve visited before on Spuistraat. The price here is much higher. We are so surprised. I believe there are many more Indonesia restaurants in Amsterdam, we just pick this one unluckily this time. I believe some people will enjoy the food here, but not for us.

For the prices, I personally felt food was not worth it.

It was really amazing. The settings, design and lightings were in point. The food was really good and the staffs were so warm and welcoming. Great ambiance.

Really disappointing after looking forward to Indonesian rice table in Amsterdam for sometime. As another reviewer noted, they just sort of sling the premade food at the tourists and don’t think much else about serving you. the feeling you get is they don’t care whether or not you come back and I guess they have enough business from tourists that don’t bother with reviews that they can keep it going. I hate to write a review like this, but there’s gotta be better Indonesian food out there for a tourist in Amsterdam.

The food was delicious, and the staff were very attentive and funny. They're happy to help if you're unsure about what to order. It was another successful evening!

We turned up at the restaurant at 9pm on a busy Saturday night having left a nearby Indonesian restaurant on Herenstraat due to the rudeness of the host. Despite the restaurant being packed they sat us near the bar and managed to find us a table in 10 minutes. The staff were attentive both while we were waiting for our table and during the meal. We took the chef’s rijstafel and all of the quality and taste of the dishes were excellent. Highly recommend!

I am a budget traveler but not a big eater. I enjoy a lots of food with a lots of different restaurants. I do not and will not wanted to come back to this restaurant again. So long and have a good day. Edit after restaurant replied: Yes, 4 adults and everyone pay Er$40 dollars but just received 8 small dishes of meats and with no refill. The size of the dish just like a muffin.Your price was post but you did not show your dish size and say nothing about the no refill even if you are hungry.I feel like this is a rip off.

The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was certainly okay, but the space is small (narrow). I thought the prices were too high.

The restaurant was very busy every time we had walked passed so we had high expectations - and they were definitely met. Wonderfully warm service, beautiful interior and (most importantly) delicious food. We had the vegetarian rijstafel and it was a fantastic selection of very different, very yummy things. Only sad that we were too full for dessert.

Wow! Been to many Indonesian restaurants, but this was beyond expections! Outstanding food, great presentation (yellow Rice elegantly packed in fresh banana leafs), table full of uniquely flavored traditional dishes. Very friendly and professional service (thanks Anna 😀). Definitly a strong recommendation when you are hungry in Amsterdam!

My wife and I were walking around Amsterdam looking for a place to eat, and we were not disappointed in our choice! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic, Dutch-Indonesian food experience! We got the vegetarian rice table, complete with tons of sides that were all delicious! We especially liked the tofu dish (dark brown) and the eggplant dish, as both were seasoned wonderfully! The egg dish was also good, and quite spicy. The food was ready in record time, which was also a plus! The staff were extremely accommodating with my food allergies and made sure none of our food had any nut products in it. The staff were also very friendly and knowledgeable about the food they were serving! The only cons were that the meal was quite pricey, and the restaurant did not let us know before ordering that the water would be 7 euros.

We got the famous Rijstaffel and not one item tasted great enough to go back to this place. And the service is ridiculously horrendous. The two male waiters are the worst ones I have ever experienced. Never again.

The staff immediately greeted me and offered me a seat. They were really kind and fast. The food had an amazing selection of typical indonesian foods that are cooked with skill and passion. The prices are a bit high but it's definetely worth it

Very authentic Indonesian food (confirmed by a friend in our group) Generous portions, friendly service, and clear explanations of the menu We ordered the chef’s special course including dessert and it was a lovely experience Even though we were a large group, the staff handled everything professionally and all the dishes were served at perfect timing There was a great variety of choices and flavours, all at a reasonable price One impressive detail was the heating pad with a candle inside placed in the centre of the table to keep the food warm. It allowed us to enjoy everything with the same fresh flavour from start to finish. Such a clever idea Big thanks to my friend for recommending this place. A perfect memory

Tourist trap. The food was good but nothing special when compared to the many other rijsttafel options in Amsterdam. They refuse to serve tap water (we ordered other drinks). They also told us that service is not included and that we had to tip which is a cheap trick used on tourists and dishonest.

This was by far the best culinary experience we've had during our entire vacation in the Netherlands. Food: On the recommendation of the waiter, we opted for the Rice Table, which consists of a bowl of rice for each person and 11 small side dishes. This gives you the chance to try everything the restaurant has to offer. The whole thing still feels like a full meal, which is to be expected given the price per person (€31). A heated plate in the middle of the table keeps the food warm at all times, so you can take your time eating (we were actually there for 2.5 hours, which is quite a lot). We really liked the concept, but also the choice that comes with it. Not only can you choose from three different types of rice, but also between a meat-based and a vegetarian Rice Plate (we chose the latter). All the side dishes were very diverse. We found the different ways of preparing tofu truly impressive. We were truly more than satisfied with the taste. I actually wanted to deduct a star because the water we were served is distributed by Nestlé, but it simply tasted too good. We even ordered dessert. My boyfriend had the crepe dish with mango ice cream, and I had the pudding with vanilla sauce. Everything was perfect, although the pudding was a bit too sweet for me, especially with the sauce and cream on top. After this feast, the bill was correspondingly high. So, for such good quality, you do have to dig a little deeper into your wallet. But in our opinion, it was definitely worth it. Service: It was possible to conveniently make table reservations online at short notice (I would highly recommend it; it was already quite busy when we were there). The service was extremely attentive, even when it was very busy. Since it was our first time there, we were given recommendations and the principle of the rice table was explained again, including what was included. The menu is entirely in English and is very clearly laid out. They kept asking us if we had any requests, how the food tasted, etc. However, especially when the place is full, you should be prepared for waiting times. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for our bill, among other things. Ambience: At first glance, you think you've landed in a 5-star restaurant: chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, very fancy chairs, and classical music in the background. Although they did switch to Christmas music at one point, which we found a bit odd (at the beginning of August). I also wanted to mention the very stylish restroom doors; they were a little highlight for me, I must say. I found the restroom itself to be clean and nicely designed. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience eating here. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our tour guide, Krijn, for the great recommendation! We would love to go back again right away.

If, like us, you're looking to discover Indonesian cuisine, this is the perfect restaurant. The people are very welcoming and offer good advice for novices. Rather than ordering a single dish, we enjoyed small portions of all the dishes, all the sauces... A real treat, and you're no longer hungry afterward! There are a lot of people who seem to come often, which means it's a great place.

Went with my boyfriend for a saturday night dinner. We had the ‘basic’ rice table vegetarian mixed with meat. It really was amazing! If you like Indonesian food then Long Pura is the place to be. 5 stars

Great service and atmosphere only me and my girlfriend got a very bad case of indigestion and bloating after eating the rice table for two, hope this doesnt happen to often here because the taste was actually great. Couldn't sleep afterwards and had to recover for a whole day from cramps etc. A discount would be in place imho. and please check the kitchen.

We reached here 5 min before the kitchen closed. So we didn't have many options but to go for the fixed rice menu. But that came with so many yummy curries that it left us craving for more Indonesian food. And their coconut milk drink was heavenly! The service was great too!

Wow! If you want great Indonesian food, try here. This was recommended by a local guide to go to and it will not disappoint. I had the lamb dish but the people I was with tried the rice table, which gave a sampling of items. They were well pleased with their choices.

went in as a group of 30 people, the employees were so helpful and sweet🥹they treated us with so must hospitality the food was i n c r e d i b l e the flavors are so potent and it’s a great introduction to indonesian food, this was my first time having indonesian food and i will be trying again and again!

Got the rice bowl chef tasting menu with 3 people. 49 euro. Good flavors, requested less spice. My favorite was the coconut shrimp. Skewers were really good. Honestly kinda pricey for the amount of food but maybe that’s all Amsterdam, charge you for water. Good flavors though

We were excited to return to this restaurant when visiting Amsterdam again. Sadly, it felt like everything in every category (food quality, etc) significantly declined compared to the last visit a few months ago.

The rice tables are a great way to sample Indonesian flavors, and they were all good! We came with a larger group and were able to sit quickly. The staff are very friendly and the decor sets the mood. Great place!

Rice table was a Unique and delicious meal - bursting with wonderful flavors and plenty of meat options. Service was excellent and ambiance is warm and cozy. Be prepared to pay for stilled water, as is common in most area restaurants.

Very nice discovery of Indonesian cuisine. But for the rest meh: 1. High price compared to the quantities served, but usual in Amsterdam… 2. refusal to serve tap water. At €6.5 per bottle of water we quickly understand why…. Just like coming to fill our glasses of water regularly to encourage us to recommend...

It was my first time trying Indonesian food, and everything I tried was delicious! I would recommend ordering the rice table (rijsttafel) for the variety of dishes. The only thing I didn't love was getting charged 6.5€ for a bottle of still water 😭 Maybe it's just a European thing I'm not used to, but that seems ridiculous to me.

We were happy to discover the rijtsttafel and we were extremely disappointed by this restaurant. Neither the quantity nor the qualities were there. The price is frankly too high for what is offered. On the other hand, nothing to complain about the service and the atmosphere. We do not recommend it. It was nonetheless an enriching experience in learning from acceptance to frustration. A word to the wise.

Nice place to try something new They have a nice vegetarian rice set which we tried and it was nice. There's quite a few nice mains and sides served with a big bowl of rice. Most of the dishes were nice though I don't remember the dish names. I liked the tofu satay the most. Can visit one time for the overall experience

A great recognition for having introduced my children, my partner and myself to Indonesian cuisine that we did not know. I recommend sharing the Rice Table at least for a first experience and even subsequent ones. In addition to eating very well, the decoration is typical and really nice and the staff are smiling, friendly and conscientious.

I got sick after being served gluten here. I was assured multiple times by the hosts that all the food was safe for me to eat, but half way through dessert the host came back (at a very casual walking pace) to let me know it had gluten. She was surprised by my reaction and made a comment that led me to believe they hadn’t been very careful, and then asked “isn’t gluten just sugar?” The food was delicious but not worth getting sick.

What a gem to find a really good Indonesian food as a tourist. This place is very cozy and inviting. Delicious Soto soup during the cold weather! Our staff “Eka”, “Harris” and “Reza” were very friendly and they love chatting with us about the food and the area. Even gave us advice on where to find any good Indonesian restaurant in Paris. The place is very spacious with a full bar. During our visit they were able to accommodate a very large group of 40-50 people and had enough space for others.

Such a pleasant experience with lovely staff and food. I ordered a set menu which we could stuff more than enough. The only downside was the service was a bit slow, not so attentive, so if you go there, enjoy your time slowly.

Fantastic trip to Indonesia! The sets of dishes proposed here are excellent and the cocktails very good. Excellent service too! I will come back here again and again.
