We had such a lovely evening with delicious food and patient explanations of the menu, despite the pleasant crowd. Everyone went above and beyond for all the tables, even though it was busy! What a great team! There was live music, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable! In short, we'll be back; what a great atmosphere and what good food! We still think about it often and have already recommended this unique restaurant on Rembrandtplein to several others!

I had dinner today with 8 friends and the waitress forced us to take a menu even though they didn’t informed us in advance when I made the reservation. Then she asked if we want more wine (we opened a bottle of wine) and we said is fine and she started serving opening another bottle of wine. In the end she blamed my friend that she told her to open another bottle of wine which was not the case. I found her very rude! The rest of the stuff was friendly. The

Great place to get a traditional (to Amsterdam, at least) "rijstafel". (A wide variety of traditional Indonesian foods.) Great for sampling too!

We were a large group and they made us choose an expensive menu instead of our own choice of starter and main course. This was not mentioned as an obligatory option when we booked the table. Also, the waitress brought us a second bottle of wine and started serving it to us even though we didn't order it and didn't notice it was a new bottle. The quality and quantity of the food was not fulfilling to compensate us for all of the money we paid. Not recommended.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at this Indonesian restaurant! You can choose between a fixed menu or à la carte dishes, and from the very beginning the experience was delightful. They welcomed us with complimentary vegetable dragon crackers as a starter - a simple touch, but so tasty and appreciated. We ordered the Grilled Chicken in Special Soy Sauce, and it was outstanding. The chicken was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying. The dish came with a generous assortment of sides: fresh vegetables, fluffy rice, tempeh, and a delicious coconut-milk–based soup. Everything was abundant, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough. The balance between price and portion size is excellent, and the quality of the food makes it even better. A must-try for anyone who loves Indonesian cuisine - or simply loves a great meal!

I ate here today for my birthday. We had a lovely rijsttafel (rice table) with delicious food. I also had some snacks beforehand: ikan gohu and lumpia bebek. Both were delicious and a real treat with a Bintang. The atmosphere was great and it's in a great central location. Highly recommended.

Food is good and arrives fast, but they "force" you to eat a main dish which we felt kind of cheated by. We weren't the only ones - the table next to us was equally surprised by this rule. At payment, the terminal shows tip percentages with a 15% default... For the most basic level of service. Overall, wouldn't return.

An Indonesian (halal) restaurant that is considered good for lovers of Asian food.

Arriving without a reservation on a Friday around 8 pm, the staff made us wait 20 minutes at the bar while they prepared a table for us. The set menu was €54. The main course was excellent, sometimes quite spicy, but very good. The staff were professional and friendly.

I came here with 30+ ppl after the marathon, they were super accomodating to our table, to my allergies as well. The food was incredible, we got served so much. Really thank you so much for hosting us.

Tough, shredded meat that should have been tender. Only one rechaud, which meant the dishes quickly went cold. The shrimp were not spicy, but rather saucy. Little attention at the table. The rice arrived late, and no questions were asked about the rice variety. There are ten better Indo restaurants in town.

Easy to get to and a really fun spot for a group dinner. The atmosphere was warm and lively, making it a great place to share a meal together. We chose the Nusantara menu, which offered a delicious mix of dishes that worked perfectly for our group of ten.

Terrible! Cold rice, cold Sate and the Beef Rendeng was dry with no sauce. Nasi Goreng was just white rice with a bit of spice, not freshly fried as advertised. If you want cold reheated already prepared food than this is the place for you! No thank you!

And it was a blast, a carnival in our mouth and a feast for our belly. As a normal, regular person, you have no chance to finish everything. And do ask them again what you have on the table. In the first explanation, you say yes, yes, I got this, and later on, you have no idea! Believe me! Your taste buds erase memories! Superfriendly staff, a little crowded and loud, but the food does more than its job! Upon our arrival for dinner for two, our reserved table at the restaurant was promptly available despite the moderate level of crowding. We opted for the Indrapure dish, which proved to be an exceptional culinary experience. The flavors were vibrant and satisfying, leaving us with a memorable taste sensation. However, it is advisable to inquire about the contents of your dish again, as the initial description may not accurately reflect the final presentation. The staff was exceptionally friendly, although the restaurant’s ambiance was somewhat noisy and crowded. Nevertheless, the food exceeded expectations and provided a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Very friendly, speaking Malay, etc., but DON'T EAT here! The rijstafel was TERRIBLE, old food reheated. It's the kind of place that looks great and where tourists, who dont care what they eat, go once only, so it doesn't matter what they serve because nobody comes back. Expensive too.

We (2 people) ordered 1 chicken satay (starter) and 1 rendang beef (main). Then the waiter told that we MUST order 2 main courses. My wife had heartburn and stomach ache so she would have liked to eat just a little bit. Restaurant manager said that this is not possible?? Terrible service, avoid this place..

Save yourself and do not go here. The food tasted frozen and some of our meat was so tough it was inedible. Additionally, the service is horrendous. We waited 1.5hr before our first dish even came. And there are all these rules they have that force you to spend more money. Would never recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We were there on our first day, 9/11, in Amsterdam. Because we heard Indonisian food is good in Netherland, we walked into this place close to our hotel. We appreciated they accomodated us without reservation, even thought we were told we couldn't stay longer than 1 hour - this was fair. What happend next disappointed us. The waitress recommendated us to choose a preset menu, Purnama, for €34,50/person citing we only had 1 hour time. We went with her recommenation. After the food was brought to the table, we quickly realized it was badly over-priced. There were quite a few dishes but were all in very small containers. Those dishes were pre-cooked. Please see the picure. Apparently the food doesn't worth €69. The overpricing was further confirmed after we visited another indonesia restaurant, SAMA SEBO, in Amsterdam next day. After we quickly finished the meal, the waiter brought us the check and gave us the hint we need to add tips with 15/20/25% option on the machine. With the understanding tipping is not a Dutch custom and our disconent with the food, I declined the tipping. Immediately, the waiter changed his smiling face and almost threw the receipt to the table. I hope you had better luck there!

Since I'm not necessarily inclined to give high ratings, let me start with my conclusion: the restaurant is definitely recommendable, but not yet an Indian highlight. The downside to this restaurant in my review is that we had recently eaten at another Indian restaurant in Amsterdam, which was better. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was impressive. The dishes could perhaps have been prepared and presented a little more delicately, but the taste was very good.

The food is not really authentic for Indonesian, the spices has been ”soften”. Friendly service but quite a long wait when we visited on wednesday, even thought not so many people around. If you want an authentic Indonesian, this might not be the place, but to try first time, maybe ok.

My wife, mother-in-law, and I had rijsttafel at Indrapura when we were on vacation in Amsterdam. It was delicious! I liked all of the rijsttafel dishes that they served us. The food was very tasty as well as nice and spicy. An excellent and enjoyable dinner!

Siamo andati ad assaggiare il tipico pasto indonesiano il rijsttafels o tavolo di riso su consiglio di un nostro amico. Abbiamo prenotato da hotel e abbiano raggiunto il ristorante facilmente. Ubicazione centrale proprio su piazza Rembrandt. Il locale accogliente e con una bella atmosfera. La proposte del rijsttafels erano 3 diverse per numero di portate e prezzo. Il problema è stato il cameriere che ci ha servito in quanto volevamo un consiglio su che opzione scegliere visto che in due casi le porzioni erano per minimo due persone. E soprattutto informazioni sulle varie portate che in ogni caso erano numerose e non ci era chiaro cosa avremmo mangiato se non il riso che accompagnava tutte le ciotoline con le varie pietanze. Nonostante gli avessimo spiegato che non parlavamo fluentemente inglese e di spiegarci parlando meno velocemente cosa ci avrebbe portato quando sono arrivati i piatti ci ha frettolosamente servito una ventina di pietanze a noi completamente sconosciute parlando a raffica senza fsrci capire niente. Delle cose ci sono piaciute altre meno. Alcune erano terribilmente piccanti. Altre mischiavavo dolce e salato. È stata più che una cena un salto nel buio. Peccato perché se avessimo saputo o istruiti sulle caratteristiche dei piatti avremmo potuto scegliere quelle di nostro gradimento. Anche quando si va in un ristorante italiano è buona norma assistere il cliente nella scelta dei piatti dando informazioni sugli ingredienti. Qui sevizio veloce e poco professionale. Da rivedere. We had a Rijsttafel (rice table) for four people, with a reservation. The food was really good; the restaurant was two-thirds full on a Friday evening, and the service was excellent. The seating was wonderful. Even though it's located on Rembrandtplein, it doesn't detract from the quality.

We had reserved a table for 8 p.m., but it wasn't available, and we had to wait about 20-25 minutes at the bar. Once we got a table, we were able to order quickly, but they made us wait another 1.5 hours for our food. I had a very friendly chat with the manager about the long wait—he was really friendly, and he apologized, but there was no drink, no coffee, no schnapps, or even a small dessert on the house. It's a shame, because we were expecting a little something extra. I told him as much, but it's a tourist restaurant, and the next customer will come anyway 😕. Otherwise, the food tasted very good. However, they cook almost everything with MSG or MSG (a flavor enhancer).

The food was fine and we were interested in trying the restaurant after it was recommended by a friend. Be warned, they charge for tap water. We were a party of 4 and we were charged 12 euros for basic tap water. The most frustrating part was the service. We had to ask for our check 3 times. When she finally came over she just gave us a total and asked for our credit card. I asked for an actual itemized check and she said it would come after l paid. This was after i saw her leave an itemized check for the couple across from us 5 minutes prior. I reluctantly paid and then she had trouble getting me a receipt. I had to ask another server. The other service could tell i was frustrated. She said she would make jt right “next time”. I told her there would be not next time. I really wanted to love this place and the whole experience just left me extremely dissatisfied.

The food and drinks are great, if you are served. One server constantly came by to thank us for waiting. That being said, general service is horrific. Our initial server appeared to drop off menus and never returned. A second server appeared to drop the wrong food off (for the table of 4 Dutch people sitting beside us, who arrived 20 minutes after we did). After an hour we had yet to order drinks, but last night in Amsterdam! Counting on a good meal! Instead watched a table that arrived after us receive their full order, pay and leave, while our first drinks arrived. Did our food make it? Stay tuned to find out. It’s been 2 hours? We’re still waiting.

The rijstaffel is just too much food. Go with individual dishes. It is pricey!

Nous ,sommes déjà allés à l'Indrapura, mon épouse et moi, il y a plus de 25 ans. C'était notre première expérience de la cuisine Indonésienne et nous avions été bluffés. Nous avions hâte de redécouvrir l'endroit et la nourriture, mais avions un peu d'appréhension; depuis 25 ans, nous avons en effet découvert plein d'autres cuisines et plein d'autres saveurs. Mais ce fut comme au premier jour; la cuisine Indonésiennes est succulente et ne ressemble à aucune autre. L'indrapura reste un must pour nous, la qualité de la cuisine, la fraicheur des plats, la richesse et la diversité des mets est juste fantastique. Et tout cela avec un service au top et un personnel toujours souriant et aimable. Je recommande très vivement

Had a wonderful meal with my family. We went there, the service was great, and the staff were very friendly. It was delicious, well worth the money, and the atmosphere was lovely! Definitely worth it. We only went with four big eaters; I'd prefer a larger table because the one we had was too small. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

Visiting Amsterdam from Montreal and ate here with family. This was my first time trying Indonesian cuisine. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant! It's too bad it's a 6 hour flight away because I would love to come back regularly.

my partner and I came here excited to try indo food in the city. greeted by the host with “you two can sit here but only for 2 hours” weird, but ok. we sit at peak dinnertime, there is nobody in the restaurant but us and one other table. why were we given this time limit? anyways, they ask if u want still or sparkling water, they do not offer tap water. each person must have a main course, my partner and i tried to order one main course and a starter to share, they said not allowed.. Asked for the bill, we waited and soon saw the server was typing on a laptop, she forgot about the bill despite the fact that it was not busy. the food was nothing special for its price tag. i don’t recommend.

Our first time here and we are obsessed!! The food was so tasty, it was a busy Friday night and we only waited about 10 minutes to sit and food came out reasonably quick. Service was excellent and it was pretty affordable for the portion size.

Beautiful place, great location, great food and service! Their waitress is so friendly and kind. If you visit in the summer, I would highly recommend eating at the terrace - the vibe is just immaculate.

We never had any Indonesian food in the past. With recommendation to try the Indonesian cuisine from our dutch canal boat driver, we decided to try this restaurant. The waitress helped us select because we had no idea what to go for. The free crackers with spicy dip were a great start. We tried the mixed satay skewers - wow, so delicious; we had chicken, beef and shrimp- each with a unique flavor. For our main dish, we tried Rendang (Beef stewed in spicy coconut sauce) - it was incredibly soft and very delicious with the India garam masala type flavor. We also tried Lautan Cinta (Scallops, prawns and vis in mild coconut sauce) which turned out to be an excellent choice for us. Both dishes were large, came with rice and some other pickles etc. Everything was super delicious and not spicy at all. We had no room left for dessert in the end! Even with a bottle of wine, our total was under 110 euros so pretty reasonably priced food! 👍 if you found this useful

Indrapura serves excellent Indonesian food with beautiful presentation and a warm, inviting interior. I recommend trying one of their plates, like the Nasi Rames, but it’s also a great spot for sharing a few dishes family-style. They start you off with complimentary chips and tasty chili sauces for dipping. Overall, the food is high quality and definitely worth a visit.

What an awful disappointment. We so wanted to experience some traditional Idonesian food and chose this restaurant based on location and reviews. We hadn't booked but they said we could have a table for an hour. So we thought service would be quick. It wasn't. We couldn't relax, as we constantly checked our watches. As experienced elsewhere in Amsterdam, they weren't really set up for children, so we ordered the larger rice table for 2 and an extra starter for us all to share. Thought we'd order more when we worked out what the kids liked. Waiter came back and said we hadn't ordered enough, said they did have things for kids, having originally said they didn't. Offered us some fried chicken, juat one portion. Thought that would be OK. Food arrived and was lukewarm to cold. But we were hungry and tired by then, almost an hour after we'd arrived, so we tucked in. When the bill came, they'd charged €23.50 for the unwanted, mediocre, mostly uneaten chicken! When we queried it, he said it was a full portion for all the kids. We said, we thought you'd offered us a kids' portion, expecting €12-14. We'd have happily paid if it had been delicious and kids had eaten it. They still charged us full price. Lady by the door, when she went to say goodbye to us and asked how it was, did at least have the decency to say sorry when I expressed our disappointment. I would avoid unless you want cold food and slow service.

The decor struck a perfect balance between modern and cozy. With dim lighting, comfortable seating, and soft background music, I felt completely at ease. Now, let’s talk about the food… The menu offered a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The dishes I ordered were not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. My main course, [name of the dish], was perfectly cooked, and the freshness of the ingredients was noticeable in every bite. The dessert, [name of the dessert], turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Food is OK. They charge $7-$8 for water. Comes in a small jar, and they charge $7-$8 for each jar. They don’t let you drink your own water. Would be better to just not charge it then ask for a tip later.

Food that we ordered was a total snooze fest, the rendang was just okay but it didn't kick it up a notch. It was ridiculously pricey. We were shocked when we saw mice busting a move around.

Not worth the price at all. Reception was cold. Staff were on their smartphones instead of looking up to see who came in. The food seemed to have been microwaved and tasted like it. To speak of that atjar that was already old... We were asked if we wanted the bill yet. While we had just finished eating! We wanted dessert afterwards, but we quickly paid the bill! Plus point for a clean toilet. Unfortunately, this 'restaurant' is in the wrong location. Given the quantity of the food, it should actually be in a slum. In terms of taste, it is more aimed at tourists. There is a lot to improve. It was a mockery of a first impression. Not worth the price. Never again!

The restaurant was extremely hot, making the dining experience unpleasant. It was fairly busy and understaffed, and we waited 20 min for menus and 30 min for water and drinks. While the set menu seems popular, we wanted to eat less food. However, the server did not allow us to eat without getting a main despite the fact that we intended to order €50 worth of dishes. The appetizers and satays were delicious, but the veggie mains were bland. Overall, the food was worthwhile but the service and atmosphere ruined the experience.

The night had a good start, the food and the place were enjoyable, but unfortunately the night got ruined from the entrance of a mouse in the room where we were eating. The episode clearly made uncomfortable many clients who left in the middle of the dinner, while the stuff kept working as usual.

Was in a cruise to Amsterdam with the girls and found this diamond !!! This is by far is our favourite indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam, you won’t regret it. We are 6 all Indonesian ladies living in UK, and we all loving this restaurant.

Was really looking forward to coming back here. We waited for 75 minutes for our food after ordering. The staff were slow with informing us of the delay. Got a glass of wine on the house 5 minutes before the food arrived. It kind of ruined the experience for us. Lovely food though.
