Aneka Rasa is the best Indonesian food spot in Amsterdam. The food is delicious, authentic, and full of flavor. The service is excellent — friendly, fast, and welcoming. Highly recommended.

We ordered the small plates to share between two and they were delicious! Everything was flavorful, allowing you to try several different dishes, but be warned that some dishes are quite spicy, so prepare your tongue! 😋 The service was quick, so no complaints, I highly recommend it.

I came here on a Saturday evening and there was quite a long queue. The staff, who turned out to be the owner’s son, told us they were only offering a set menu for our group of three. We ended up loving the food! It totally satisfied my craving for Indonesian food after a week in Europe, haha. Special shout-out to the pepes ikan (steamed fish in banana leaves), such a standout dish!

When there with my friends today, we were separated. Some of us arrived early but they didn’t let us come. The staff were very rude and ask us to leave. The cashier even treated us like we dont have money. Was it because we look asian? Shame on you, Aneka Rasa!

The food was very tasty, even if it didn't stay hot forever, despite the hot plates. The service was very friendly; I just found it a bit of a shame that you have to order as soon as you walk in, meaning you can't relax and browse the menu at your seat. Nevertheless, we were very pleasantly surprised, especially by the food, as both the tofu and jackfruit were deliciously prepared (which, unfortunately, isn't often the case). The price of €30 per person for the rice platter is still quite steep.

Rijsttafel! Always go for the rijsttafel here! You’ll get to try all the best dishes the restaurant has to offer. Came with a group of four, but honestly, we could’ve used twice the people to finish everything. The portions are huge! The vibe is warm and homey, especially for an Indonesian diaspora like me… it’s wonderfully nostalgic. The staff are cheerful, kind, and impressively quick! Our food arrived in just five minutes! Tip: Don’t skip the light bites. I loved the risoles and can’t wait to try more on my next visit. Totally worth traveling all the way from the UK for this experience!

Finally, I was able to find a restaurant that is very Indonesian 😍😍 We were served directly by the owner and was very friendly.. and it was cooked directly by his wife too.. so cool… God is cool (that's what the owner of the restaurant said 🙏🏻) Always be successful…

The rijstaffel is very good, reasonably priced. Having to choose your dish before going to the table is not practical with young children, I felt like I didn't have time to think. As for the atmosphere, we were placed at a large table, right next to other people, I would have preferred to be at a normal table

I was in Amsterdam with my boyfriend for six days and wanted to eat Indonesian rice pudding. The restaurant is in the city center. We entered and waited until we were assigned a table. We were immediately asked to go to the cashier, where a young man held out the menu and told us we had to order directly. I asked if I could please sit down first and read it in peace, as I wasn't familiar with this cuisine, but I was refused. The next guests were standing behind us, so we felt very rushed and ordered. It was discouraged to ask a counter question, and thank goodness we didn't order a rice pudding. The food came very quickly, there was very little of it, and I didn't like it. The atmosphere was almost Christmassy—it was early August—plastic poinsettias, and it was also dirty. I've never written a review before, but this place was a complete rip-off.

Small bit simple and charming. I died alone so I did not want a Big Meal. The chicken saté was just right for a small meal. 2 good sized chicken skewers covered in a great Indonesian peanut sauce, rice, a hard boiled egg and some marinated vegetables. It was just right for a small meal.

Solid 4 star experience here. Enjoyed the food, the rice table variety was super and perfectly proportionate for the two of us. However some dishes were better than the others. I really enjoyed the curry chicken, and the beans as well as the salad. However disliked the taste of the fried rice and the mixed vegetables curry. Also interesting that no dipping sauces were available for the crackers. Overall decent place.

I had an amazing experience at Aneka Rasa Amsterdam ! The chicken satay was perfectly grilled—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The peanut sauce was rich and authentic, just the right balance of sweet and savory. The grilled shrimp was another standout: beautifully charred with a hint of smokiness, and seasoned just right. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and Jerry the owner were incredibly friendly and attentive. You can really taste the care put into every dish. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic Indonesian flavors in Amsterdam. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Unfortunately, some of the items of the rijsttafel were lukewarm at best. The flavours and the variety were good, though. Could therefore have been good if properly (re)heated. The ambiance bears resemblance to a small university cafeteria and is equally hectic and loud (due to other guests). Service was nice.

We had the rice table for three, which was lovely. The portions were generous. Our waiter explained the dishes and looked after us well.

Don’t visit here expecting Real Indonesian hospitality. We are Indians who lived in Indonesia for years hence we know! Firstly the guy at the counter was so aggressive while explaining stuff, then he was racist- he came and asked the white couple near our table about how food was and he was super polite with them and with us he just treated us as nothing. Oh bonus points: the tables are allowed based on your skin colour, we were made to sit cramped between two tables occupied by white people. While others got separate tables. The food was average but we can say this place is run by pseudo Indonesians because true Indonesians are NOT racist or discriminatory!

"good food, good place" is a lie. the owner and waiters of this restaurant are rude, impolite, racist. giving false information just for the sake of fame, bad behavior. this is the most bad experience in the history of my life.

Tried Indonesian food at this place for the first time . Staff is not very welcoming but food tasted really good . I would recommend Nasi Goreng Momian ,Mie Goreng Momian & Ayana Rujak. Tried few other dishes it came with quarter chicken Ayam Baker & Ayam penvet not a fan of those .

Amazing Indonesian cuisine. I ate here 9 years ago in 2016 and liked it so much I came back a second time in just 3 days. I’ve been recommending and yearning to eat here for the past 9 long years and finally I got back in 2025 and it did not disappoint! Still the amazing and diverse foods and the explosion of flavor in your mouth with every bite! Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself! I travelled from Canada through West Africa and finally through Italy to come back and enjoy a wonderful meal! Well done! Get the Aneka Rice table with or without meat, but I ate the meat one… 😂

Disappointing Experience – FOOD POISONING & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE We visited Aneka Rasa on Monday evening — it was our last night in Amsterdam. We ordered 4x Rijsttafel, ayam penyet, soto, opor kuning, rendang padang, and nasi goreng to share (attached some of the photos of the food). Roughly 30 to 45 minutes after the dishes arrived—and after sampling all of them—I was suddenly hit with intense stomach cramps, consistent with food poisoning, and had to abruptly leave the restaurant to rush back to the hotel, leaving my family behind. Initially, we assumed it was an isolated reaction, but by the following day, the rest of our group also began to experience similar symptoms — unfortunately, just in time for our long-haul flights home — 6 to 13 hours flights for different members of our group — was incredibly difficult due to the constant discomfort and the urgent need for restroom access. It significantly impacted the end of our trip and made the return home very unpleasant for all of us. (We visited a pharmacy before our flight and described the symptoms, which were confirmed to be typical of foodborne illness) After checking the tripadvisor reviews, we noticed similar complaints about food poisoning, which we now regret not seeing earlier. In addition to the food poisoning issues. There were 9 of us, plus a 3-year-old. When we arrived, we mentioned we were a group of 9. The restaurant insisted that since we were 9 people, we had to order 9 dishes — which we did. The first group of 7 of us arrived first, and the remaining 2 adults and the toddler joined shortly after - the table was quite cramped after adding a baby chair in it. We politely asked if the last three could be seated at one of the nearby empty tables to allow a bit more space, but the owner declined, stating they would only open another table if we ordered additional dishes — despite the restaurant being far from busy, and even though we had already ordered the required nine meals — not including the toddler, who barely eats. While one of the staff were friendly, the owner was rude and unapproachable. Given what we’ve experienced — and seeing others mention food poisoning in the reviews — we absolutely do not recommend this place. The illness ruined not only our flight but also impacted the rest of our trip through other countries. We don’t usually write negative reviews, but in this case, we feel it’s warranted. We sincerely hope the restaurant takes steps to improve food handling practices, customer care, and overall hygiene to prevent others from going through the same.

Walkable and very close from Centraal Station. We order several different menu. Nasi goreng and Sate ayam is the best, authentic Soto ayam is the worst Soto Betawi not bed

It was a wonderful place to experience an Indonesian rice table. They were able to determine what parts we would enjoy and they were able to make it all gluten free as I am intolerant. The service was fast and everything was delicious, a great variety of flavors.

During a 2-day Amsterdam trip, me and my friend decided to try Indonesian cuisine for the first time—specifically the famous rijsttafel (rice table), which immediately caught our eye. A quick Google Maps search led us to this cozy spot, and we walked in without a reservation. The owner was welcoming, and the food arrived fast. As someone who loves Southeast Asian flavors, I was thrilled by how authentic the dishes tasted—the fragrant rice, rich chicken curry, and fresh veggies reminded me of meals I’ve had back in Asia. My husband and I have returned for our third visit at this restaurant. The food is so flavorful and tasty. The price is very reasonable. The owner is always very pleasant and respectful. I recommend this restaurant very highly for anyone who likes Indonesian cuisine. 😀

A somewhat surprising welcome, you have to decide what you are going to order before being brought to a table. The dishes were good and plentiful. However the flavors of the rice table were a bit repetitive.

This is the first time I tried “Rijsttafel” in Netherland although I’m Indonesian 😛 We got white rice, nasi goreng (fried rice), sate ayam (kip satay), telur balado (spicy eggs), ayam kecap, sayur boontjes, atjar, rendang, and the other one I forgot what’s the name of it. The owner, Jerry are so friendly and learned our name. A lot of customers came here and he still remember our name haha that is impressive! We feel Jerry are really pay attention with us as his customer. He also offered us to took our picture while we are eating! I forgot about the price per pax, but if I’m not wrong for 2 persons we paid around €80 (we ordered 2 drinks and one snacks too) Definitely will come back again if I visit Nederland! ✨

Ayam Penyet was out of the world, combined with Jerry’s spicy sambal, this second generation husband wife run Indonesian restaurant was worth it. Ordered the rendang which had the flavours however the beef was dry. The rest was amazing

We wanted to share a Soto Ayam but were told we had to order 2 dishes. Fair enough! Drinks were served promptly and food came out on a plastic take away plate. Assuming he wanted to save time and close early but for 60 eur we expected more! Soto was tasty but was not spicy. Fried rice was acceptable but not hot at all ! We wouldn’t recommend to people who expect a good meal for a good price.

The owner seemed like a kind and polite person and kept his calm managing the rush alone and the service was good. The atmosphere was fine too. The food however was not to our liking. We tried the Beef Rendang and Chicken Satay which was sort of a rice bowl with gravied egg and beans with coconut I think. I wouldn't recommend these two at all. Probably go for the rice tables bc people seemed to be enjoying it. Anyway left disappointed by the food :(

We werden hartelijk ontvangen in dit gezellige, sfeervolle Indonesische restaurant. Het interieur heeft een warme uitstraling die perfect past bij de authentieke ervaring die we hier hadden. Het eten was echt heerlijk en smaakvol. Een aanrader voor iedereen die van Indonesisch eten houdt, en voor wie op zoek is naar een gezellige plek om lekker te eten. Wij komen hier zeker nog eens terug!

Very disappointed honestly. Second time coming here and my first experience was really good. This time around I paid 12,50€ for a super small dish. Got 3 bite-sized meat, a bit of rice and beans and a curry egg. Not worth the price at all. To top it off, everything came in paper plates…

Among the best things we have ever eaten. Possibility of choosing between vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus (€30 per person) or à la carte order. We chose the vegetarian one and it was beyond all expectations, I have never eaten tofu like this! The owner (Jerry) super friendly and with impeccable service. I went with a friend who had already been there two years ago and Jerry remembered him without us saying anything!

No se dio cuenta hasta después de que el restaurante había cerrado y tuvo que tomar un tren muy temprano. Envié un correo electrónico al restaurante y pudieron devolver su pasaporte a algunos amigos al día siguiente a pesar de estar cerrado. Solo quería dar un saludo y un GRAN agradecimiento a Jerry y Christina de Aneka Rasa por su ayuda. Mi hijo estaba realmente estresado por ello y usted ayudó a resolver la situación muy rápidamente, para nuestro alivio. BTW mi hijo dijo que la comida era muy buena y nos aseguraremos de visitar el restaurante si alguna vez estamos en Amsterdam y agradecer a los propietarios en persona.

I have not personally visited Aneka Rasa, but my son went there the other day and accidentally left a bag with his passport inside. He did not realize this until after the restaurant had closed and had to catch a very early train. I emailed the restaurant and they were able to return his passport to some friends the following day despite being closed. I just wanted to give a shout out and HUGE thank you to Jerry and Christina from Aneka Rasa for your help. My son was really stressed about it and you helped resolve the situation very quickly, much to our relief. BTW my son did say the food was very good and we will be sure to visit the restaurant if we are ever in Amsterdam and thank the owners in person.

This place is so bad for everything especially the owner is so rude. Go away and stay away from this restaurant. Not worth your money. Tell everyone you know about this.

Recommended if you're Asian and feeling homesick for Indonesian food. The taste is good, though it's been adjusted to suit the Dutch palate, so it's a bit less authentic but still enjoyable.

My coworker told me that when I travel to Amsterdam I have to try rijsttafel (rice table) which is unique to Amsterdam due to the Indonesian influence. We weren’t sure we would make it as we were only in town for the evening and we had just come from 18 hour international travel—extremely jet lagged and feeling delirious. I had no appetite but am very glad we pushed ourselves to go because it was such a treat! Rice table is an Indonesian multi course sampler meal. I’m glad I chose to dine at Aneka Rasa. The inside of the restaurant was romantic with candlelit dining and elaborate decor. €30 per person can seem expensive but we were pleasantly surprised that it’s truly €30 total. No tax or tip. Our tap water was also free. When we entered, the owner informed us they’re only doing rice table (no a la carte dining) and asked us if we want the regular or vegetarian meal. We chose regular. Jerry learned our names and addressed us by them for the rest of the evening. The regular rijsttafel came with chicken sate, soy chicken, beef rendang, curry chicken, veggies, spicy eggs, cucumber salad, fried & white rice, chips. That chicken sate was the best we’ve ever had! The peanut sauce on it is bomb!!! We’ve never seen so much peanut sauce on chicken sate— the chicken skewers were bathing in sauce. The chicken was tender & juicy. I ate up all the leftover sauce with rice. The eggs have a spicy kick so be careful if you have low tolerance. Everything else tasted fresh. We appreciated the variety and being able to savor multiple different things. It was plenty of food for the both of us (and we eat a lot!). We talked to the owner a bit and he was incredibly kind and welcoming. I appreciated the Christian music played in the background and messages around the restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant for friendly service, yummy food, and good ambience!

This restaurant deserves all of the accolades that you have seen on social media. This 27 year old family run restaurant cooks from the heart and it is reflected in their food. We highly recommend the rice table - we got the non vegetarian.

What a superb place with such reasonable prices! We were in a rush and had to get takeaway before heading off to the airport, and this restaurant nearby caught our eye. We were kindly welcomed by the owner who explained their dedicated takeaway menu, the containers they use, then he guided us to a nice candle-lit table as we waited for our food. Honestly such a breath of fresh air considering the terrible service we have received at nearby shops and restaurants🥹 We had the Batagor (fried fish cake with a sweet and spicy sauce) and ayam kecap with rice. They were so well-spiced, aromatic and we thoroughly enjoyed every single bite. And you can tell how much they genuinely care by how carefully plated the food was despite it being a takeaway order (Sealed container with cling film to prevent spilling)! Definitely the best restaurant around the area, I absolutely recommend dining here for both lunch and dinner😊 I hope to come back for the full experience someday.

Went today at 1800hrs and it was closed, no notice given on why. Disappointed because was so looking forward

Server was friendly, food had a very homemade feel and taste. My only complaint is that the price is quite steep for what I would consider more casual food.

WOW spent 8 days in Amsterdam and this is by far the best restaurant we went to, not once but twice. Jerry the owner learns every persons name and makes you feel so welcome. And as for the food the set menu is a perfect choice of amazing Indonesian dishes … 5 stars 🌟 all round.
