The food was excellent — the lasagna, pinsa, and spaghetti were all very tasty, and the mozzarella salad paired perfectly with a very good wine. The highlight was definitely the tiramisu, absolutely outstanding! Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. We sat outside, but the staff rarely came by, so we had to keep going inside to call them. A place with great food, but service needs serious improvement.

The two of us went to Italia for dinner, the first time for both of us. It was an average Italian restaurant. The menu, with its selection, was perfect; there's a huge selection for vegetarians, which is nice. We had made a reservation and had to wait quite a while for someone to come to us. By then, we'd already decided what we wanted, but we had to wait to order our food, while the table behind us arrived later and had already ordered. Otherwise, the food was neatly presented and delicious.

Delicious food! The music was calm and quiet, and definitely not distracting. All the dishes were delicious, and the children loved them.

Great restaurant the pizza is absolutely amazing

Wasnt impressed with food, when we called up ordered food then chef was showing hand signals thats hes not happy.. Fries were burned and undercooked in the middlee at the same time, pasta was undercooked for sure, ham pizza was awful. Service was nice, but if you dont like your job just dont do it. Thank you for everything, but we wont be coming back for sure.

Great pizzas with possibly the hottest chilli oil I've experienced for quite a while 👍😵‍💫😂. Staff were friendly and professional, and did not complain when we entered the restaurant close to closing time - in fact they were very accommodating. Recommended.

Frozen lasagna, I didn't like it

It was so great!! I have no complaints. The interior is reminiscent of Italy, with a dark interior and paintings and statues all around. The service was great, the food was incredible - and the prices were pretty cheap for Groningen. Will definitely be back here again. I had the romana pasta with spaghetti, and their dessert of the month, and which was lemon curd served in actual lemon skin, with whipped cream and ice cream on the side. They have an open kitchen too, which was cool to see.

Used to eat there very well, the best pizzas in Groningen and price/quality was more than fine, unfortunately there is nothing left of that since a few years. Tried again recently, but that was the last time I'm afraid, pizza base was too thin and too wet, it tasted like nothing, tasted bad either. Too bad!

We stopped here for lunch and had lasagna. The food and service were very good, but we didn't like the ambiance so much because of the hard seating.

I highly recommend this place. We had noodles and pinsa, the food was hot, beautifully presented on the plate and our daughter's wishes were happily accommodated. The staff was very accommodating and were there with a menu as soon as we sat down. We didn't have to wait forever for our drinks or our food. Everything is absolutely within reason if you want fresh food and drinks. The ambience is nice and cozy, a little away from the pedestrian zone and therefore quieter than other restaurants.

Ordered a pizza that was on the table in 5 minutes, limp and without crunch or taste. Looked like a frozen pizza.

OK pizza place. I had the vegetarian pepperoni and it was a bit sub-average. It had courgette and capsicum and lots of cheese. However, the veg had leaked a lot of liquid so the bread base was very undercooked under the topping. Other people with me had much better pizzas.

It's a super super sweet and cute restaurant. The service is super nice and the food is a dream. By the end I was just full from the bread and garlic butter. Man man man. I have never eaten such delicious bread 😭 The tortellini carbonara and the beef fillet with mushrooms and potatoes were also extremely tasty. If we are in Groningen again, we will definitely come back. 😊

Always had a delicious meal at Italia, delicious Italian pizza and pasta. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated considerably. The dough of my pizza margherita was not fluffy and there were just slices of mature cheese on it. I think it is comparable to the pizzas from many döner places. Unfortunately not my thing. The service was excellent and the restaurant is still nice, but for me the food is really the most important. I won't be back.. There are much better Italian restaurants in Groningen.

Delicious pizza; service was a bit slow

It is actually a pleasant place, but the pasta and pizza we ordered at Lasagna were too salty. That's why it wasn't possible to finish them all. We don't know if some misfortune happened to us that day, but all of our meals were left unfinished. Other than that, it was a good place in terms of staff and atmosphere. However, we would not choose it again.

I've been waiting for the pizza for exactly an hour and 14 minutes, it's a total exaggeration, I'm dying of hunger

30cl of tap water in a dirty glass bottle Youd expect tap water to be free... It's not 2.95€. Pizza oven is dirty, next time you order from here flip the pizza around and tell me how many burnt crumbs you can count. I've gotten up to 24 someone try to beat that dirty record.

A nice Italian place in the city center. The food was excellent, and so was the service. Being a Friday evening, the place was buzzing with people. We had a good time and would love to visit again.

The waiters were nice and quick, but the food was a complete disaster. The pizza tasted like frozen food, and the lasagna was more like soup and way too hot, burning my palate. The leftover pizza was simply wrapped in aluminum foil and smashed on top of each other... a waste of money.

There's a huge selection and they take allergies into account. It's also nice to see that it's a real family business, mother and her daughters are serving. That creates a cozy atmosphere. Oh yeah, and don't forget the fantastic price/quality ratio. Next time we'll just join you again ;)

The food was delicious. We did find it a bit noisy, though, and were seated in a spot where people were constantly walking past with their food. But we still enjoyed it.

We had reserved a table by the window, but did not get a table by the window. We then waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our pizza, while a group of 9 people sat down half an hour later and their food had already arrived. We asked the service about our pizzas, and in the end we were told 2 different stories, and we were offered a free drink. We also asked a colleague what time the order was placed, but did not get any feedback. I also ordered a spicy pizza and that was not on it either. All in all, not worth repeating. The food was tasty, but for the atmosphere and service it is a big 0.

For a few weeks/months (?) it seems as if the pizza bases are no longer made by hand but in a printing machine. This makes the pizza much less tasty than before, a very thin tasteless base and the edges are rock hard. Such a shame because we have been coming here for years, always satisfied but the last few times.. to see if it is now like "before", it is no longer worth repeating for us!

Pizza, or should we call it wet sponge. Let's go for wet sponge because the name pizza really shouldn't be used. You can wring them out. When the pizza was brought, we immediately asked for extra napkins to pat the pizza dry, unfortunately it was so wet that the base was already soaking wet. And no, we weren't the only ones, the table behind us was also saying that their pizza was very wet. Conclusion: pizza base disgusting The few toppings were tasty. If you like wet pizzas where the moisture runs off, then this pizzaria is recommended. If you like a crispy pizza, then you really have to go somewhere else!!!!

Super nice Italian restaurant. They offer a clear menu card with various meals that are categorized. The staff is very friendly and the service is reasonably fast.

They must be good pizzas but I think they are far too thickly topped. Which does not benefit the taste. Furthermore it is large and busy which does not promote the atmosphere

I have walked past this restaurant many times but never before tried to eat here. We booked in advance and think on a Saturday it is probably wise as it was busy. Pizza was good, and the tiramisu. Definitely worth a visit. The service was very good, and they had a high chair for our 2 year old. No children's size meals though.

Had pizza there on King's Day. Pizza was delicious and service (despite being very busy) very friendly. It's a shame that there was a separate menu with fewer pizzas (I can still get into that) But it's a shame that the prices are being raised for this day. Yesterday Oct 11, 2024 Went to eat pizza at Italia again. Very much against it. Not that it was very dirty, but the grease was dripping off. It was reported but nothing was done with it. It came from the fish, they said. Well, very strange because we have had this pizza many times before. Terrible stomach pain and heartburn at night. Shame!

Price quality is excellent. The pizzas aren't great, but the price is right too! We had pizza with gorgonzola. It had dairy gorgonzola on it that we had to scoop it off. Way too much. Not in balance. The service was bad last time. We were sitting somewhere in the back (because they want us to) and for a moment I had the feeling that they had forgotten us. So it took a long time. We sat uncomfortably in the back.

Nicely decorated restaurant with very friendly service. The seating inside is a bit cramped but the absolutely delicious food definitely makes up for it. Prices are also reasonable, you get good quality for your money.

I called them over the phone and asked for a table for two persons in 30 minutes, told me it's okay. Walked with my wife towards them for 30 minutes and once I arrived they told me sorry we have no reservation under your name. Disappointing.

Pizza is not exactly Italian. Otherwise tasty, but I missed the tomato pulp.

My favorite dish here was the Lasagna until last week when the lasagna was overcooked (burnt from the sides) and dry. Usually they give a good amount of sauce with the lasagna, so when I sent the dish back asking for more sauce they took it back happily only to return the kind of same dish which was just less dry

Please note: gluten-free base costs €4.50 extra! This is a ready-made base that was very tough. What a disappointment. No photo of the pizza, because I didn't intend to write a review. But this is too absurd not to share. Furthermore, you can sit outside in the busy street (except for the very urgent begging bums) and the service was friendly. However, it took a very long time for everything to arrive on the table and the service seemed not to know the menu. "We don't have fresh tea..."

The pizzas from Italia are fine to eat, too much fat for my taste (a lake of oil on top of the pizza) but otherwise OK. I wouldn't immediately recommend having a bite to eat here, there are better options.

What a delicious pizza! Even better than previous years. The pastas and new Italian Radler are also simply great. Friendly service, nice casual informal atmosphere and very acceptable prices. While many restaurants are gradually declining, the opposite is happening here... it just keeps getting even better.

I don't really feel like the customer comes first. I eat vegetarian and I ordered a salad where I wanted salmon instead of chicken. So a small adjustment. But that wasn't possible. For me that is a reason not to come back to this pizzeria.

The cook just didn't want to cook well. It wasn't good. I noticed it in the service but nothing, nada, in short, I don't recommend.

We had a great pizza in a great atmosphere. The employees were really caring and experienced. The pizzas were very satisfying and large.

Fantastic spot in Groningen! The costs for the various dishes are not too bad (which is also the reason why many students were here). There is a wide choice between the different dishes, they not only have pasta and pizzas on the menu, but also steaks, pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, etc. The service was a bit busier here and there, so you had to speak to yourself. But this is the case in many other places during the evening rush hour. A top spot in Groningen!

Four of us with 2 children had lunch here. At this point there were very few guests. We were served very nicely and got our food quickly. We all enjoyed it and the portions were more than enough.

The food here tastes really good! The lasagna alla casa was by far the best I have ever eaten. The pizza and cake were also very good. Service attentive and quick. The ambience inside is great, unfortunately you can see a construction site on the outside, but the restaurant can't help that. Always happy.
