Everything was delicious, except for the overcooked bacon in the pasta. The service was good, apart from the fact that you sometimes have to look for a waiter. We ordered a non-alcoholic "Sex on the Beach" cocktail for the child. No one had warned us about that. The cocktail was spicy.

I have truly never had such an unfriendly customer experience. We had called by phone beforehand to ask if there was room for three people on the terrace, preferably in the shade. According to the employee, that was no problem. When we arrived immediately afterwards, it turned out there was suddenly no room at all. A bad start, but what followed was much worse. We were expected to sit at a much too small table with three people, where one person literally had to sit half on the walkway/road, while a large part of the terrace was simply empty. When we asked if we could push two tables together, an employee named Nat responded in a particularly arrogant and rude manner. She indicated that she “preferred not to” and then simply walked away without further explanation while we were still in the middle of the conversation. Another employee then did want to help us, but that was also blocked by Nat. Apparently, it is more important to rigidly stick to internal rules than to welcome three guests in a hospitable manner. I have rarely experienced anyone showing so clearly that they had no interest in customers. Any hospitality or willingness to help was nowhere to be found. If you prefer empty tables to satisfied guests, then you have come to the right place. We visit here very regularly, but this was definitely the last time. After this, we went somewhere else where we were received very hospitably and two tables next to each other were no problem.

The pizza was terrible, the crust was dry, the salami and ham tasteless, and it was clearly frozen... never again.

The apple juice was gone, the tagliatelle was gone, they had six kinds of lasagna but it was all gone! Also, there isn't a single children's menu on the card! To top it all off: I asked for coffee, "Black?" the waitress asked. I said "With a little milk, please." Well, she had to ask at the bar because normally they don't do that! How is that even possible? Surely I'm not the only one who drinks coffee with milk? All in all, I found this visit very disappointing!

We received incredibly good service! Even just before the kitchen closed, they still had room for our group of 6. On top of that, the food was incredibly delicious! Also, don't be put off by the gorgonzola in some dishes. It has a very mild flavor where you can really taste the bite of the gorgonzola!

We had a delicious meal at Italia Groningen. It was very busy, and that is probably why we had to wait a bit (too) long for our pizzas, but they were worth the wait! It is strange, though, that you pay an extra €1.20 for the chili oil.

Last Wednesday afternoon, I sat outside with a delicious cocktail (Hugo Rosa) and a homemade Italian apple cake (torta di mele)... lovely!!

Fine pizza pasta vino birra aqua place We landed with an international group on a Tuesday night and were seated friendly, on a long table in a part of the restaurant a bit separated from the main room with smaller tables. Generous portions, good vibes.

My experience at this Italian restaurant was unfortunately downright disappointing and absolutely not worth a repeat visit. To start with, the pizza was simply poorly prepared. The dough was undercooked in several places, resulting in a sticky, doughy texture that was anything but appetizing. Making matters worse, there was an enormous amount of grease on the pizza. When I pressed the cheese down a little with my fork, a literally thick layer of oil remained behind, almost half a centimeter. Additionally, the prices for the drinks were high for what you get. All in all, this visit was a major letdown. Poor preparation, greasy food, and expensive drinks mean I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant. 1 star is actually generous for what is served here.

Very bad pizzas, soggy crust, rock-hard edge, and the margarita tasted like a pot of salt had been spilled on it. We reported it to the staff; they said they couldn't do anything and that we should have let them know sooner. The wait lasted longer than half an hour, and waiting any longer with two kids is unbearable. We didn't receive an apology or a discount either. We won't be going here again; there are much better pizzerias in town.

I chose and bolognese and it was really amazing, it was so delicious. Felt like heaven. My friend chose an vegeterian pizza and she loved it a lot as well. Real good food. We lastly had an Tiramisu as well, was also amazing. Beautiful flavours.

Extremely greasy pizza for a premium price

Reheated frozen pizza, carelessly and incompetently topped – a slap in the face to Italians. The lasagna was also some kind of microwaved mess. Awful! Zero stars, really. The service was friendly.

It's actually a nice place with very friendly service, but the pizza was really not good. The crust was dry (I think they use pre-rolled dough, definitely not freshly made), the tomato sauce was very watery, and there was way too much cheese (sliced ​​cheese?!?) on top. The salami pizza wasn't any better; the salami was much too salty. The hot chocolate was barely lukewarm and very sweet, but nice and creamy. The lasagna was okay. I wouldn't come back…

We had a very large group. We didn't have to wait long, and the food was served all at once. The service was fast and friendly. The pizzas were delicious. A very tasty base—and a crispy, airy crust. I hadn't had such a good pizza in a long time.

Great pizzeria, but over the last year or six months, we've been finding the pizzas less good!! It looks like there are different cooks at the oven, not the regular one we've been seeing for years. Last time, it was very hard, almost burnt. We think the oven was way too hot or something. Definitely something to consider for Italy!! REMEMBER THE QUALITY OF ITALIA!!

After half an hour, we were asked to move tables because it was reserved. Mistakes happen. This wasn't a problem for us, but we were put in a cold section where we were the only ones. Pasta Cabonara...it was so bad it was so bad. It tasted like cream soup. If the restaurant has an Italian chef, they should hand over their passports immediately or take a mandatory cooking course. No pecorino, pancetta, or giancale in it...it brought tears, lots of tears, from me. Especially when I saw the price they were asking for this soup. I wanted to order a second round of drinks during dinner, but the lady looked at me and never came back. The guy behind the bar was also too busy with his phone. The salami pizza was okay, the beef pasta was also okay. When we left, the reservation we were supposed to move for still hadn't arrived. So moving wasn't even necessary. What incompetence!

A very poor pizzeria. If you eat there, it takes more than half an hour for the pizzas to arrive. The staff is extremely chaotic and can't handle stress. There's also a lot of yelling in the kitchen via a walkie-talkie, which is very annoying and loud. And the last time I had delivery, it was absolutely terrible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DELIVERY. The pizzas arrive covered in oil, the boxes are of very poor quality, and the delivery instructions are completely inaccurate. I'll go to a better pizzeria in the area.

We had to wait for more than an hour just to order our food, even though we tried asking the waiters several times. The communication and service were very unfriendly and bad.

Awful experience, we ordered two pizzas to go they told us it would be a 7-10 minute wait. We waited 45 minutes, at that point we asked how much longer it would be, they said two minutes because one pizza was ready (been in the counter for half and hour, cold by now) and the other they would rush. We get the last pizza get home and it’s different from what we ordered completely (we ordered a margarita because I don’t eat meat and got a 3 different kinds of meat one with onion which I’m allergic to😣). In the waiting area there was no one for most of the time and people were playing around with others orders that where ready.

The three of us had a really delicious meal, very friendly service in an atmospheric restaurant.

Excellent food in Groningen. Highly recommending their pizzas. They do have a large menu to choose from.

The staff is very fast and friendly. The pizzas are tasty, although I found Sambal badjak on a pizza quite odd. My husband ordered a piccante pizza that wasn't one. We asked for spicy oil and that was fine. But I don't find it particularly hospitable that €1.20 is added to the bill for the oil. This is part of the experience when you go for Italian food. For us, it is a reason not to eat there again.

Great for a cozy meal. It is a bit noisy, but that is just part of the experience. The menu has something for everyone. The non-pasta and pizza dishes are also tasty. Efficient service. Food is on the table quickly.

The food was excellent — the lasagna, pinsa, and spaghetti were all very tasty, and the mozzarella salad paired perfectly with a very good wine. The highlight was definitely the tiramisu, absolutely outstanding! Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. We sat outside, but the staff rarely came by, so we had to keep going inside to call them. A place with great food, but service needs serious improvement.

The pizzas are the best I've ever had in terms of value for money. I've been going there for years. The desserts have always disappointed me.

The two of us went to Italia for dinner, the first time for both of us. It was an average Italian restaurant. The menu, with its selection, was perfect; there's a huge selection for vegetarians, which is nice. We had made a reservation and had to wait quite a while for someone to come to us. By then, we'd already decided what we wanted, but we had to wait to order our food, while the table behind us arrived later and had already ordered. Otherwise, the food was neatly presented and delicious.

Delicious food! The music was calm and quiet, and definitely not distracting. All the dishes were delicious, and the children loved them.

Wasnt impressed with food, when we called up ordered food then chef was showing hand signals thats hes not happy.. Fries were burned and undercooked in the middlee at the same time, pasta was undercooked for sure, ham pizza was awful. Service was nice, but if you dont like your job just dont do it. Thank you for everything, but we wont be coming back for sure.

Great pizzas with possibly the hottest chilli oil I've experienced for quite a while 👍😵‍💫😂. Staff were friendly and professional, and did not complain when we entered the restaurant close to closing time - in fact they were very accommodating. Recommended.

Frozen lasagna, I didn't like it

It was so great!! I have no complaints. The interior is reminiscent of Italy, with a dark interior and paintings and statues all around. The service was great, the food was incredible - and the prices were pretty cheap for Groningen. Will definitely be back here again. I had the romana pasta with spaghetti, and their dessert of the month, and which was lemon curd served in actual lemon skin, with whipped cream and ice cream on the side. They have an open kitchen too, which was cool to see.

Used to eat there very well, the best pizzas in Groningen and price/quality was more than fine, unfortunately there is nothing left of that since a few years. Tried again recently, but that was the last time I'm afraid, pizza base was too thin and too wet, it tasted like nothing, tasted bad either. Too bad!

We stopped here for lunch and had lasagna. The food and service were very good, but we didn't like the ambiance so much because of the hard seating.

I highly recommend this place. We had noodles and pinsa, the food was hot, beautifully presented on the plate and our daughter's wishes were happily accommodated. The staff was very accommodating and were there with a menu as soon as we sat down. We didn't have to wait forever for our drinks or our food. Everything is absolutely within reason if you want fresh food and drinks. The ambience is nice and cozy, a little away from the pedestrian zone and therefore quieter than other restaurants.

Ordered a pizza that was on the table in 5 minutes, limp and without crunch or taste. Looked like a frozen pizza.

OK pizza place. I had the vegetarian pepperoni and it was a bit sub-average. It had courgette and capsicum and lots of cheese. However, the veg had leaked a lot of liquid so the bread base was very undercooked under the topping. Other people with me had much better pizzas.

It's a super super sweet and cute restaurant. The service is super nice and the food is a dream. By the end I was just full from the bread and garlic butter. Man man man. I have never eaten such delicious bread 😭 The tortellini carbonara and the beef fillet with mushrooms and potatoes were also extremely tasty. If we are in Groningen again, we will definitely come back. 😊

Always had a delicious meal at Italia, delicious Italian pizza and pasta. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated considerably. The dough of my pizza margherita was not fluffy and there were just slices of mature cheese on it. I think it is comparable to the pizzas from many döner places. Unfortunately not my thing. The service was excellent and the restaurant is still nice, but for me the food is really the most important. I won't be back.. There are much better Italian restaurants in Groningen.

Delicious pizza; service was a bit slow

It is actually a pleasant place, but the pasta and pizza we ordered at Lasagna were too salty. That's why it wasn't possible to finish them all. We don't know if some misfortune happened to us that day, but all of our meals were left unfinished. Other than that, it was a good place in terms of staff and atmosphere. However, we would not choose it again.

I've been waiting for the pizza for exactly an hour and 14 minutes, it's a total exaggeration, I'm dying of hunger

30cl of tap water in a dirty glass bottle Youd expect tap water to be free... It's not 2.95€. Pizza oven is dirty, next time you order from here flip the pizza around and tell me how many burnt crumbs you can count. I've gotten up to 24 someone try to beat that dirty record.

A nice Italian place in the city center. The food was excellent, and so was the service. Being a Friday evening, the place was buzzing with people. We had a good time and would love to visit again.

The waiters were nice and quick, but the food was a complete disaster. The pizza tasted like frozen food, and the lasagna was more like soup and way too hot, burning my palate. The leftover pizza was simply wrapped in aluminum foil and smashed on top of each other... a waste of money.

There's a huge selection and they take allergies into account. It's also nice to see that it's a real family business, mother and her daughters are serving. That creates a cozy atmosphere. Oh yeah, and don't forget the fantastic price/quality ratio. Next time we'll just join you again ;)

We had reserved a table by the window, but did not get a table by the window. We then waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our pizza, while a group of 9 people sat down half an hour later and their food had already arrived. We asked the service about our pizzas, and in the end we were told 2 different stories, and we were offered a free drink. We also asked a colleague what time the order was placed, but did not get any feedback. I also ordered a spicy pizza and that was not on it either. All in all, not worth repeating. The food was tasty, but for the atmosphere and service it is a big 0.

For a few weeks/months (?) it seems as if the pizza bases are no longer made by hand but in a printing machine. This makes the pizza much less tasty than before, a very thin tasteless base and the edges are rock hard. Such a shame because we have been coming here for years, always satisfied but the last few times.. to see if it is now like "before", it is no longer worth repeating for us!

Pizza, or should we call it wet sponge. Let's go for wet sponge because the name pizza really shouldn't be used. You can wring them out. When the pizza was brought, we immediately asked for extra napkins to pat the pizza dry, unfortunately it was so wet that the base was already soaking wet. And no, we weren't the only ones, the table behind us was also saying that their pizza was very wet. Conclusion: pizza base disgusting The few toppings were tasty. If you like wet pizzas where the moisture runs off, then this pizzaria is recommended. If you like a crispy pizza, then you really have to go somewhere else!!!!

They must be good pizzas but I think they are far too thickly topped. Which does not benefit the taste. Furthermore it is large and busy which does not promote the atmosphere

I have walked past this restaurant many times but never before tried to eat here. We booked in advance and think on a Saturday it is probably wise as it was busy. Pizza was good, and the tiramisu. Definitely worth a visit. The service was very good, and they had a high chair for our 2 year old. No children's size meals though.
