Restaurant Boccaccio in Centrum

Antipasti freddi wel oké, het brood had van ons wel warm en knapperig gemogen. Pasta met truffel en parmezaan: teveel kaassaus-achtig waardoor ik het kleine beetje truffel nauwelijks nog proefde. Carne Trentino niet bijzonder. Wijn was lekker.

Wat een ontzettend fijne verrassing! We hebben echt héerlijk gegeten en na 4 gangen helemaal voldaan! Fantastisch een aanrader!

Heerlijk gegeten met 4 personen, verrassingsmenu en verrassend was het! Ontzettend lekker gegeten in een inspannend sfeer, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Een uitgebreide kaart, echt genoeg keus, ook zonder vlees en vis. Het eten is lekker, alles vers, maar duidelijk zonder Italiaanse touch. Daardoor zijn de smaken wat vlak. Er is duidelijk geen Italiaanse kok aan het werk, dat zie je en dat proef je. En dat is echt heel jammer want je zou hier echt een top tent van kunnen maken. De bediening is aardig, maar met te weinig aanwezig als de tent helemaal vol zit. We zaten helemaal vooraan bij de koude deur en daar is amper licht ook. Kortom, best wat verbeterpuntjes.

Absolutely do it! Food is very tasty, very nice menu anyway. Dishes are nicely flavoured. Atmosphere is good, although we had a quiet corner. Management is competent, they know what they are doing. Price is a bit on the high side but it is worth it. (2 persons, 3 courses without wine 120 euros).

Tagliata di manzo was a cold rancid raw mess. The waiter agreed and came with an apology from the chef and took the dish off the bill. We were told that it is always served cold and raw. I eat this dish regularly, but I found this plate unrecognizable and unedible. I stopped after 1 bite and it still gives me chills. The pappardelle al ragu was watery and disappointing. In short: unfortunately not recommended. Nice service, but waiting half an hour for your drink is really too long!

Hoezo borrelplank voor 2 personen? Voor 1 persoon nog niet genoeg. Prijs/kwaliteit zeer matig. Bediening niet flexibel. Sfeer kan aan gewerkt worden. Gelukkig was de thee verrukkelijk.

The food here is good, though it’s not what I’d call authentically Italian—but I actually enjoyed the twist they put on it. The antipasti, especially the selection of salami and cheese, were great, and the pappardelle was also delicious. The menu can be a bit confusing since they list items as antipasti that would be considered primi in Italy, and secondi that feel more like primi. This is because the antipasti, even when they’re more like primi, are served in smaller portions. The wine selection is decent, prices are fair, and the service is excellent. Plus, the restaurant is tucked away in a beautiful little alley. If the weather’s nice, definitely ask to be seated outside—you won’t regret it!

Had Certaldo Menu, taste was good, but what you get for €40 is really not enough

We came from Malaga to see Moto GP in Assen and we were struck by how beautiful the terrace is decorated and we decided to eat there, the menu is spectacular, everything, everything was delicious, we ordered red wine with lemon and even without having a taste of lemon in its restaurant, the waiter appeared with one and thoughtfully brought more in case we asked again, a great detail on his part for that gesture towards us, a highly recommended restaurant for its quality, price and professionalism

We had a really delicious meal here. We actually chose the restaurant blindly to see if we could be surprised, and we succeeded! Of course, one dish is tastier than another, for example, veal tenderloin was well done, but could have been a little better (just let it bake and rest a little longer. But, it was fine. The collection of starters was really delicious and the flavors were really good. you are looking for at this restaurant. For us, the Spaghetti parmigiano with truffle was clearly the highlight, really perfectly flavoured, Wow! The service was smooth and friendly, in short: definitely worth repeating!

Sometimes you have one of those evenings when everything is just right. During a pleasant Friday evening walk, in a side street, you discover a restaurant with a covered outdoor garden. Boccaccio!!!!!! We were early, but within no time the place was completely full. We noticed that young and old had already discovered this case. The first contact with the service was very pleasant. When we ordered our drink, a carafe of water (free) came with it, where can you still find this these days? We chose oysters and shrimps as starters. Both well presented and delicious. As a main course we were recommended the fish of the day, fresh from the market. Baked salmon on a bed of asparagus risotto. The salmon was perfectly cooked, including the wonderfully seasoned crust. Finally, to properly digest all these wonderful taste experiences, we opted for a double espresso. Naturally, it was also of a quality that suited the evening. All in all a great place to eat delicious food and enjoy each other.

Visit in April On a Monday we spontaneously wanted to eat here and there was still room. We were given olives beforehand and they were very tasty. As a main course we ordered the pappardelle with ragu. This dish was a bit disappointing for me. The pasta was a bit too al dente and watery for me, and I also thought there was little ragu with the dish. This one was tasty. All in all, I expected more. For dessert we ordered the tartufi and it was delicious.

What a nice restaurant, nice staff and fantastic food. Good quality of the products and very tasty and special dishes; true taste sensations.

We had a very nice dinner at Boccaccio, the food and wine were great, and it was not expensive at all! We had a menu with 4 courses and a bottle of wine and we spent ~55 per person. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this one! :) Also, I got very authentic vibes from the atmosphere and the food. The only small thing I should mention is that the main (veal tenderloin) cooled down a bit too fast, which maybe can be solved by serving it on pre-heated plates? But other than that, 10/10 :)

Favourite Italian in Groningen. Lovely risotto. Very attentive staff.

What a nice restaurant this is. Very atmospheric and delicious food. Not a very extensive menu, but what is on it is of quality. Good wine list too. Service is also fine (sometimes it could be a bit sharper). Reservations are recommended because it is always full. This is in my favorites list.

Nice place with tasty food! All dishes were good except for one of the pieces of meat, which was a bit tough. Furthermore, we had a good meal, a varied menu and delicious wine. In addition, the service was also fast and friendly. Highly recommended :)

In hartje centrum Groningen bevindt zich dit geweldige Italiaanse restaurant. Zowel van binnen als buiten is het sfeervol ingericht. De menukaart bevat diverse smaakvolle Italiaanse gerechten die met veel passie worden bereid (open keuken). De bediening is bijzonder attent en servicegericht, en dat alles in gezellige ambiance. Ben je in Groningen en wil je heerlijk genieten ga dan zeker hier eens langs.

Ik het kader van restaurantweek een heerlijk 3-gangen diner gehad: proeverijtje als voorgerecht, een heerlijke risotto met iets van kalfsvlees en een superproeverij van toetjes na! Alles even smaakvol en met zorg en liefde bereid!

Als ik 6 sterren kon geven bij sfeer had ik het gedaan, buitengewone sfeer met heerlijk eten en prettige service. Meest romantische plekje van Groningen op een mooie nazomer avond.

Echt een aanrader! De menukaart staat vol met werkelijk heerlijke gerechten, en ook op de wijnkaart volop keuze. Het is een gezellig ingericht restaurant mét vriendelijke bediening. We hebben een super avond gehad!

Was Boccaccio een decennium geleden het restaurant van Groningen voor goed Italiaans eten, nu is daar niet veel meer van over. Het eten smaakt zeker wel, maar mist de echte Italiaanse touch. We komen net van twee weken Sicilië en kunnen dus goed vergelijken. Of Boccaccio heeft de keus gemaakt om een andere doelgroep te bedienen of de kok van toen is verdwenen. Ik at de de spaghetti met truffel. Nou ja truffel. En beetje truffelrasp. Zoals gezegd mis ik de verfijnde Italiaanse keuken. De bediening was vriendelijk. Het terras buiten een beetje armoedig en sfeerloos. Misschien een idee om een keer een interieurontwerper te vragen hoe het ook kan. Licht teleurstellend etentje dus.

Gezellige sfeer maar bovenal geweldig gegeten. Heerlijke Italiaanse gerechten met veel smaak en passie bereid. Prima bediening in een gezellige ambiance. Ben je in Groningen en wil je heerlijk genieten ga dan zeker hier dineren.

Goed Italiaans eten , gelukkig geen standaard Italiaanse gerechten dus geen pizza. Gezellige in richting en een mogelijkheid om buiten te eten. Bediening is oké.

Tasty food, attentive service, nicely decorated and a lot of outdoor seating as well. The music was a little out of touch (pop songs) although i personally didn't mind. Great wine and aperitivo selection and plenty of different meals and antipasti to choose from. I received complimentary olives (very good!) and cold water. The pasta con costolette was especially decadent. Finishing the meal with a €2 espresso is like being back in Italy. They have a unique grappa selection that I did not try.

Went here for business and specific wishes to which they responded well. Offered a variety of good wines with fine food as well

Great location, decent food, quite pricey

Vanavond onze trouwdag gevierd: zoals altijd fantastisch gegeten! Maar bij deze vooral ook een hele dikke pluim voor de vriendelijke, kundige en attente bediening: deze dames hebben de gastvrijheid in de genen zitten, chapeau!!

Voor de heerlijkste Italiaanse gerechten.

Geweldige plek voor Italiaanse wijnen en eten

Lekker diner gehad hier. De saltimbocca was lekker mals en goed van smaak. Ook lekker was de zelf genaakt cannoli. En een prima prijs.

Heerlijke risotto op met zalm, pastinaak, zeekraal, asperges en tomaatjes. Zowel samen als los smaakte het gerecht perfect. Balans tussen de verschillende smaken & structuren was heel goed. Een fijne wijn erbij op een mooi overdekt buitenterras zorgde ervoor dat ik me voor een paar uurtjes in Italië waande. Vriendelijk personeel ook. Ik kom er al jaren, vaste stek als ik weer in Grunn ben.

Leuke en relaxte bediening en het eten zoals je het op de beste plekken in de Toscane ook krijgt. Perfect!

Altijd vriendelijk personeel waar heerlijk eten wordt geserveerd en fantastische wijnen worden geschonken! Vorige week de tortellini met gekonfijte eend & sinaasappel in maanzaadboter, spaghetti parmazan en de carne del trentino gehad. Een feest in mijn mond. Mijn aanrader is dus om wat voorgerechten samen te delen met je gezelschap want zo kan je van al het lekkers wat proeven. Echter is alles verrukkelijk dus fout kiezen kan hier niet.

Afgelopen zaterdag hier gegeten, toevallig voor de 3e keer dit jaar. Bijzonder goed. Fijne kaasplank en vleeswarenplank voor ons drie samen als voorgerecht. Hoofdgerecht alle 3 de zeebaarsfilet van de markt. Zeer smakelijk bereid en anders dan bij de nodige andere restaurants ruime portie van 2 grote filets. Deskundig, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Lactosevrij voor 1 persoon direct passende oplossing. En natuurlijk als nagerecht de heerlijke limoncello. Komen dus op korte termijn terug.
