This is the best smash burger in Amsterdam. The size ratio of bun, patties and cheese and lettuce is perfectly portioned. The service is friendly and helpful. The interior is small, but cozy with seats so you can eat in or take away. We keep returning and it never disappoints.

A great place which shows that good food does not need to be complex. The whole menu consists of the burger, fries (normal and sweet potato) and some drinks. The service is great and the food is amazing. And not to forget, everything (including the buns!) is made in-house. Definitelty worth a visit!

The burger was tasty and had a nice flavour to it. Having said that, it was dripping in oil, which detracted from the experience. I also thought it was expensive, especially when you compare it to other burger places in Amsterdam and the fact that it is a very basic setting, but charging restaurant prices. As a fan of burgers and having been wanting to try this place for a while, although I enjoyed my burger, overall I was a bit disappointed.

There is a growing trend of Smash Burgers in Amsterdam and Janana Burger has been leading the way for awhile now. I think the trend is a by product of just how bad and processed Dutch Burgers at most places are. By creating a smash burger you tend to avoid that as the patty needs to be of a higher smashable quality than your typical pre-sized factory patty you see at most places. A fine addition to the neighborhood, this burger joint really knows how to grill a burger. Eat here if you want to taste a well executed Maillard Reaction. The smash burgers, being of a thin patty and so wide that they come out of the bun, makes it something I would get more than one patty for. I will say that the extra toppings are a bit pricey for a burger so I tend to skip them since their burger is good enough anyway. They also do not accept cash. Recommendation: Get two pattys minimum.

Was excited to try their cheeseburger but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations for me; there was no cheese to be found, and the burger was not well balanced in terms of flavours..

Burger was delicious, the bun light and fluffy, perfect patties and fries were amazing. You can add interesting homemade toppings that you don’t see anywhere else, I had bacon onion jam - recommend!!

Hmm, I don’t get the high rating tbh. It’s a good burger, but it’s a pretty basic one too (a bun, a hand made burger and cheese). For the price it’s really not that special or a lot. Also it’s not like super nice to sit and eat there, so only if you like hand made good yet basic burger and don’t care about spending more than average it is a good pick.

This has to be the best burger I have ever eaten. The size of the portion is on point and the taste is just amazing. Also the service is very polite and welcoming. I highly recommend bacon jam and sweet potato fries. The easiest 5 star review ever. Not a single second thought!

Way too expensive! €4.50 for a topping on your burger, making you pay a total of €20. What you then need to look for is the sauce. And this one doesn't even cover the entire bun!!!! And then there are delivery costs!

Burger is surprisingly large and filling. I tried the pickled spicy pepper topping and the kick really took the flavor over the top! Highly recommended.

Good smash burger, the bacon jelly was almost a little too sweet for me personally. Otherwise a very good burger and the fries are great. The cabbage salad is also good.

Janana Burger was recommended in the area and we are thrilled that we found this gem. Huge smash burgers with perfect maillard flavour in every bite, this monster put my hunger to rest. Wonderfully friendly service, and the spicy peanut butter was an amazing addition to the fries and the burger itself. I have eaten burgers all over and this wowed us. Fantastic work!

Sooooo good; they definitely deserve the high rating they have on here. Just really nice smash burgers I don’t know what else to say. The meat was well seasoned and crispy, the bun was soft, the sauce they used was also delicious. I was licking my fingers by the end, good thing they give you a little lemon wipe lol.

So far Janana is my favorite smash burger in Amsterdam (have tried maijaard, bills and others) - great special toppings or good as is with just cheese. It's a really big serving for the burger alone and large portion of fries. Also really nice owner, always friendly and greets you with a smile

I ordered the burgers with fries from Uber eats and they were delivered too cold. Addition to that, the meat was too dry as well as the fries were not fresh at all. I disappointed because my previous experience with this place was better.

More a take-away place - expect Amsterdam prices. I paid 18eur for burger with fries I will come again!!

4.5 stars for me if this was an option - delicious burgers and (I actually preferred my friend’s regular over the sweet potato I got) fries. The owner is super friendly but the place is indeed not very big with limited seating. Definitely worth a visit if a good burger’s what you’re after, without the need for a fancy dining experience.

The buns are perfect but I found the patties a bit too oily for my taste. The restaurant is rather small but clean and feels spacious. The owner is the friendliest person I have ever met in Amsterdam. I would love to come back 😊

One of my friends recommended this place so I went there to try. There’re not many options - simply smashed burger or vegetarian/vegan burger. + you can choose multiple toppings or sides. I had the normal burger & fries. Super tasty, I really loved it!! Staff are very nice and helpful, the food was served rather quickly. Seating area is limited, only a few counter seating, not very comfortable but enough for a quick bite. Would love to come back to try the vege burger next time.

Went here a couple of times and really love it. Pro’s -Amazing and unique milkbuns -Delicious thin beef and aioli sauce -Fries are nicely crunchy on outside and soft on the inside Cons -A bit on the greasy side, i remember the oils came dripping from the beef right after serving but i guess thats to be expected of beef eh? :D All in all, amazing burgers and a must try

Smash Burger was very good, not too thin and dry/crispy. I ordered with bacon/onion jam. Although, I like the bacon/onion jam, it was too sweet, a bit ruined the overall experience. If they can solve that issue, it will be one of the best smash Burger in Amsterdam. They also need to work on their fries, it was below average.

Compared to the smash burger, they prepare the burger with a much higher gramage and it is delicious, but for my taste, what makes the burger good is the bun as much as the patty. I think the density of the bread should be reduced a bit because I feel like I'm still eating bread despite all the patties. And its better to say its not a perfect place for sit&eat. its mostly focused on take away orders.

This place does one thing and does it really well. If you want a burger you'll get a great one here. The recommended option is nice (little bit of spice with it) but they have bacon jam and others too. Burgers are nice and not overly greasey, so you won't leave feeling sick or heavy. Chips and coleslaw are great too.

We decided on a whim to drive 30 min to get smashburgers here, and boy was it worth it. Absolutely top-quality burgers, with challah brioche buns made in-house. The menu had just the right amount of interesting options for toppings, sides, and drinks. Garlic confit and spicy pickled peppers were a killer combo. Great customer service too.
