Jungle Burger in Burgwallen-Nieuwe Zijde

I went back to the place, forgot I was here and even then about a year ago it wasn't a "hit". This time it was really bad, I ate a JUNGLE BURGER, luckily there was barbecue sauce to help smooth my throat, I won't come here again.

Very small place, very ordinary hamburgers for 21 euros for the hamburger, fries and a drink.

Nice little burger place in a somewhat quieter side street. Prices are normal for Amsterdam.

Great Food & Chill Vibes! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at Jungle Burger! I ordered the sweet potato fries (€6.50) and the fried chicken strips (€6.50), and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken strips were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the sweet potato fries were really nice. Not only is the food really good, but you also get a great portion size for the price!

Don't trust the 4.5-star rating, because this restaurant barely deserves two! I had a bacon and cheese burger with fries. The burger was truly tasteless; the only flavor I could distinguish was pepper, which was packed full of it! Plus, it was stuffed with two sauces that made it nauseating. The cheese was also tasteless, and the bacon was a tiny piece. The fries were decent, but nothing special, and way too greasy. And finally, the place felt unclean; my table was covered in grease/oil. Bottom line... At this point, it would have been better to go to McDonald's 🙃

I give it a two because the food was actually warm. Avoid.

Relaxed little burger place in the middle of the busy Amsterdam shopping area. Excellent food with vegetarian options, fast and friendly service. Good prices to be in the middle of ADAM. I would only wished for a little music and more jungle style decorations outside on the terrace to make the place a little more cozy. I will definitely go back here and can warmly recommend. ❤️

Doesn’t worth it. Service really bad

It still exists: an establishment right in the middle of a tourist hotspot where you can simply eat well. Simple, but effective. Truffle toastie thick skewers, fries & chicken tenders tasty according to my daughter. Generous portions: no going home hungry. Terrace in the sun in the middle of the day. Price/quality: 5 ⭐️ Service: 5 ⭐️ Bonus points for the clean toilet! Comment from daughter (17): "It's giving millennial burger place vibes." And as a millennial, I certainly agree with her. Discovered by chance, but we'll keep it in mind for next time🙋🏼‍♀️.

The place has a nice atmosphere and the waiters were nice, however the burger patties were very very dry and when we asked about it they mentioned that they prepare the burgers well done, it was one of the worst burgers me and my friends had

Average burger. Repairs were being carried out on kitchen equipment during and alongside food preparation. Unfriendly owner who was not a good host.

The place is small, but you can manage if it's not too crowded. A boy served us, very skillfully. Everything was delicious.

The burgers were good but maybe not good enough for the price , the vegetarian option could’ve been bit more interesting but overall we had a good lunch and the fries were very good. The staff was not very open and the space is pretty small but the atmosphere was nice anyways :)

This place is very beautiful it is a very nice experience there food is amazing and is so tasty there restaurant theme is nature so if u like nature this is a place for you

The truffle burger had no truffle, it tasted like ketchup and mayonnaise only, way too much sauce. Bar chairs and table were wobbly, a super small place and no toilet paper in the bathroom. Unfortunately overrated.

When we arrived, the waiter (around 40 years old) was wearing AirPods and never removed them while talking to us. Because of that, he often didn’t understand what we were saying. He even brought a starter we never ordered and forgot our drinks until we reminded him. We clearly said we were vegetarian and don’t eat meat, and ordered two vegetarian burgers. After starting to eat, we realized one of them contained meat. When we told him, he remade it but didn’t apologize at all, which felt quite disrespectful. Overall a very poor experience. The food wasn’t even particularly good. I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews. I would not recommend this place.

I went there for a burger because it got ratings of 4.5⭐ (March 2026), but I would rate the patty itself is three stars (dry, tasteless, very small). Even the fries don't get more than 3.5. The restaurant doesn't look clean, the only person who was there the whole time went down to a cave underground and brought things from there. Not the most pleasant experience. In addition, when you buy a meal you get fries without sauces, and you have to pay for mayonnaise and even ketchup. I'm sorry for the bad review, but the current rating does not reflect what you get for your money.

The burgers were okay, nothing special. The patties were a bit overdone. The place was small and a bit dirty.

It's a good option if you're craving a burger but don't want to go to the typical Burger King. It's very centrally located and easy to get to. The food is delicious and the portion size is perfect (not too little, not too much). The only downside is that it's a small place, so you need to be patient.

The guys that run the store were friendly and offered a good service when we came over to eat there. The burgers were made well and the fries had a good taste to them too. Recommend it to anyone wanting to grab a quick delicious bite.

Small place, chicken burger was ok, but not massively different to a chicken burger from any fast food place. Tables are really close to each other and it feels like you’re sitting shoulder to shoulder with everyone. Service is friendly, but it’s a one man show so a little slow.

When you are craving hamburger, this is the place that hits the spot. They focus mostly on burgers and they do it well. Like a lot of places in Amsterdam, the place is small.

We enjoyed a delicious iced coffee, and at the suggestion of the friendly young man who helped us, we opted for the speculoos version! Highly recommended!

Excellent burger. I had the Jungle Burger which is delicious. My daughter had the basic burger and has eaten it all which is usually a struggle. As she put it, it's a big, tasty burger and not greasy, with fresh ingredients.

I tried the bacon and cheese burger and I liked it. The meat was cooked perfectly, the cheese added a nice touch, and the ingredients were fresh. It's a small place that specializes in burgers. They have several interesting options on the menu. It was definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

The burger itself was very mid and really not special. It felt like it wasn't made here but store-bought frozen. Fries were good, nothing exciting at all. Overall just a mid minus experience, nothing worth visiting. There are MUCH better places in Amsterdam to visit and spend your money on. Not worth it at all.

I went to "Tosti Joep" again today; behind Kalverstraat. It's actually called "Jungle Burger," but I'm giving it that nickname because I once had a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich there. Today I ordered a latte from them. Delicious. Joep, the owner, also took the time to talk with me about fun things to do around his business. And also in the wider area. It was fun! (Also important!) It said it closed at 7:30 pm on Sunday, but at 6 pm we saw they were cleaning and everything was tidied up, so we went somewhere else.

Great coffee, great toasti, and excellent service. I dropped my glass of coffee, and they made me a new one, on the house without even asking. Really nice place, would go again

This is now the third time in a month that we've had a burger at Jungle Burger. This is easily one of the best burger joints in the city. I had the Jungle Burger and my girlfriend had the veggie burger. The burgers were cooked perfectly—not too dry, not too juicy. Thank you so much for your service. See you soon!

A small burger shop in a good location at the rear exit of the Amsterdam Dungeon, situated in a side street off the main shopping street.

The food is freshly prepared with passion. The prices are very reasonable for central Amsterdam. It's run by two friendly and courteous gentlemen.

The spicy burger with crunchy fries was really good and definitely a good enough portion to satisfy even a big hunger. Also with enough ketchup even if you use a lot.

The staff was quite nice; we ordered two burger combos and a cheese sandwich. The fries for the burger didn't arrive until the burger was already finished, and there was no mayo or ketchup. The sandwich also consisted of just two slices of toast and a slice of cheese, which made it pretty dry. For the price, we expected more.

The food was delicious, but the fried chicken was a bit small. The service was very friendly, but we had to ask for our order several times because some items had been forgotten. Unfortunately, there were several boxes in the room, which somewhat spoiled the atmosphere. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

As an American who eats burgers from New Jersey and New York, I must admit that this burger left me pleasantly surprised. It’s undoubtedly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, surpassing even Shake Shack and Five Guys. (The Jungle Burger) It pairs perfectly with Jarritos.

Ate here today. Food was ok. Not enough staff to see to customers so services was very poor. Ordered mayonnaise and then asked for it for a total of 3 times before we finally brought us some I think he ignored is on purpose. Would not visit again.

We stumbled upon this little place by chance when we were hungry. It was a super cozy spot, the service was excellent, and I had the most delicious sweet potato fries I've ever had!

Overall, a mixed burger experience. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was nice and centrally located. However, our chicken burgers were generally too dry: the bread was over-toasted, the chicken wasn't juicy, and the burger sauce was completely absorbed by the bun (unfortunately, not enough). The fries were okay, nothing special, but just not that special. The restroom seemed a bit run down.
