Really enjoyed JEF Gastrobar. Beautifully set up restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Every dish was a gift, surprising flavor combinations and different textures. The wines within the wine arrangement were perfectly matched to the dishes, we enjoyed it! Really recommended, we will definitely come back when we are in Maastricht again.

To be completely honest. Found hair twice in my starter and main course, both mine and my partner's. 2 servers, 1 Dutch speaking, super arrogant and not aware of how to notice customers.

Last Friday evening I had dinner at JEF Gastrobar in Maastricht with my family, and the food was really fantastic. We opted for the 5-course menu and enjoyed it from start to finish, the wine that was recommended also paired perfectly. A small downside was the service: the lady who helped us partly seemed to have just started and unfortunately knew little about the dishes. The plates were placed somewhat impersonally and little was explained, which is a shame with such a beautiful menu. It also took quite a while before we were helped to the table, we sat for at least half an hour without anyone coming by. It was clearly a bit too busy for the number of people in the service. But: the kitchen made up for everything. Real compliments for that!

Dinner was fine. Well-intentioned, but impersonal explanation about the dinner given by a girl who had not served us before. Didn't greet us, didn't look at us and fluffed the explanation. Friendly service at our 'table', but we had to ask for wine to be poured three times and it took a very long time, more than an hour, before the food arrived. Shame! Service deserves attention.

Food and friendliness of staff was fantastic. However, the times between the different courses were really long. In addition, we had one person in our party who was pregnant and this was communicated in advance. However, it had to be repeated several times during the courses and most of the entrocote was sent back because it was not prepared so that it could be eaten safely. Despite these points of attention, our evening was fantastic and JEF gastrobar is highly recommended

Had dinner last week. Nice ambiance, surprising dishes, a must if you want to enjoy a wonderful evening and be surprised by the culinary side.

This is our fourth visit to Jef, and as always, we will be back! The waiting staff, particularly Marieke, are very attentive and make sure everyone is taken care of in a timely and proper manner. The other waitres (sorry I don't know your name...) is very sweet as well. The food leaves us speechless every time. We have yet to be disappointed by anything served on our plates at Jef's. The wines are delicious and Marieke has always served us the perfect match to our wishes. We thank you all and are looking forward to coming back!

Top experience! Had a very nice evening in an intimate, personal but also professional atmosphere. We chose the 4 courses with matching wines and were taken on a gastronomic tour. Very pleasant to see that the staff also enjoyed the evening so much. Food was above average compared to the new 12.5 rating on Gault & Millau. Price-quality is also certainly good. Gourmet restaurant at a fair price. We are not at all used to frequenting the jet set, you know that. But a gourmet at a fair price must be rare. Just one problem: parking! At Qpark it's a steal!

Jef gastrobar is truly an asset to Maastricht. The service was very friendly and made you feel at ease. The food was very tasty and the price-quality ratio was good. I will definitely come back here again and I would recommend it to everyone.

Surprising vegetarian dishes in a friendly atmosphere and pleasant service.

The restaurant offers refined dishes that showcase excellent flavors and quality ingredients. The food is truly delicious, with great attention to detail in presentation. However, the pacing is quite slow, so plan for that. We only had a 3 course menu (which was excellent) but we were still there for over 2hrs - not a problem when you don't have a baby with you :)

If you are a leprechaun or have a gastric band, this is the perfect place. Bring your magnifying glass! What measly portions, it's just laughable. But once the bill comes, there's nothing to laugh about anymore. Then you can eat sandwiches at home.

JEF was solid, had a lovely meal and the service was truly great, but I think it lacked the cohesion of some of the other meals I've had at this price point. Feels like "fancy" is slightly more important than taste here, everything was quite good (the scallop was fantastic) but there were too many components to each dish and it distracted a bit. Overall would recommend!

A very nice, atmospheric evening to which the two enthusiastic hostesses certainly contributed. They do everything they can to please the guests in a relaxing way, not too stiff and yet correct, in Dutch, French, German or English. The food was very tasty, beautifully presented and tasty. It's nice that you could exchange the dishes between the menus (vegetarian and meat/fish) so that you had more options if you didn't like an ingredient or due to an allergy. We had a very nice relaxing evening.

A wonderful place in walking distance to the river Maas. Modern interieur, cool music, very attentive service - and, most important, fantastic food! You can mix courses from the veggie or fish/meat menue, dinner offer is 3, 4, 5 or 6 courses. We totally enjoyed that evening (not only because of the free umbrella that we got when leaving JEF).

Really great little restaurant with excellent cuisine and loving service. The dishes were very diverse and the textures in particular were convincing across the board. Every course was a joy to eat and the loving service (they also proactively asked about any intolerances) rounded off the evening. The prices (3 courses for 49 euros) are very moderate for what is on offer and the drinks prices are also absolutely reasonable. Recommendation for everyone who enjoys good food.

What friendly staff! We had made a reservation, but it quickly became clear that we had viewed an outdated menu online. I have a number of allergies that are difficult to combine. With the old menu it wouldn't have been a problem, but unfortunately it is now. The staff was very cooperative and offered to adjust some dishes. Because I felt embarrassed by my own mistake, we didn't eat there in the end. But it is clear that the service is extremely good and the staff does everything they can to give everyone a good experience!

What a nice atmosphere in this restaurant. Opted for the 4-course favorites menu with cheese board instead of sweet. Received 2 appetizers in advance and delicious home-made bread (of which we even received a 2nd). What a taste sensation!! It all fit together perfectly. Enjoy a nice glass of wine and finish with a cocktail. We really enjoyed it. Here they deliver top performance with a very good price-quality ratio. Keep it up!!!

Surprisingly good, I often drove past it because the building doesn't really stand out. But out of curiosity we went for dinner with friends. We had a wonderful evening with surprising dishes and nice matching wines. We even found the bill surprising for this level!👌

The food not only looked good but was also delicious. Lots of delicious flavors. The dessert was truly divine. Wine was very tasty and the beer was also great. Service was attentive and adequate. Two points of interest: why on earth do you have to buy a bottle of water when you eat for such an amount? I never drink water from a bottle; In the Netherlands this is completely unnecessary, the tap water is of high quality. And then the music: I could hardly hear a melody, but I did hear a thumping techno drum that went on constantly. I wonder what would come out if customers were asked whether they appreciated this...
