A very nice restaurant, somewhat away from the hustle and bustle. The service was very attentive, friendly, and courteous. The food was a delight. We opted for the four-course menu, and the portion sizes were more than sufficient for us, especially since there was also a complimentary amuse-bouche. We will definitely come back.

The Jef Gastrobar, a place that pleasantly surprises. A sober and elegant setting where, oh joy, you can actually converse and hear yourself while enjoying the musical background. The five-course menu was a true discovery, a perfect balance between creativity and just the right flavors. Special mention for the starters: the Tom Kha, a taste journey in itself, and the tartare, impeccably fresh. The vegetarian menu was as seductive as the classic, an undeniable sign of mastery. We had a Sunday lunch reservation. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant, we felt a bit like we were being watched. The food was special, with a unique twist in the flavors. It was a shame, though, that the same sauces were used in the appetizer, entrée, and main course, making it a bit monotonous. However, the staff was very friendly, and the decor was also very attractive.

Everything so special in taste, it is "Enjoy!" where you close your eyes for a moment to let it sink in... ;) Service is super attentive, you are pampered. To be completely honest, I found a hair twice in my appetizer and main course, both mine and my partner's. The two servers, one of whom was Dutch, were super arrogant and didn't know how to notice customers.

Last Friday night I dined at JEF Gastrobar in Maastricht with my family, and the food was truly fantastic. We chose the 5-course menu and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. The recommended wine paired perfectly with the meal. One minor drawback was the service: the woman who partially assisted us seemed new and unfortunately didn't know much about the dishes. The plates were presented in a rather impersonal manner, and there wasn't much explanation, which is a shame with such a lovely menu. It also took quite a while to be seated; we sat for at least half an hour without anyone coming by. It was clearly too busy for the number of people serving. However, the kitchen made up for everything. My compliments!

Dinner was fine. Well-intentioned, but impersonal explanation about the dinner given by a girl who had not served us before. Didn't greet us, didn't look at us and fluffed the explanation. Friendly service at our 'table', but we had to ask for wine to be poured three times and it took a very long time, more than an hour, before the food arrived. Shame! Service deserves attention.

Food and friendliness of staff was fantastic. However, the times between the different courses were really long. In addition, we had one person in our party who was pregnant and this was communicated in advance. However, it had to be repeated several times during the courses and most of the entrocote was sent back because it was not prepared so that it could be eaten safely. Despite these points of attention, our evening was fantastic and JEF gastrobar is highly recommended

This is our fourth visit to Jef, and as always, we will be back! The waiting staff, particularly Marieke, are very attentive and make sure everyone is taken care of in a timely and proper manner. The other waitres (sorry I don't know your name...) is very sweet as well. The food leaves us speechless every time. We have yet to be disappointed by anything served on our plates at Jef's. The wines are delicious and Marieke has always served us the perfect match to our wishes. We thank you all and are looking forward to coming back!

Gourmet restaurant at a fair price. We are not at all used to frequenting the jet set, you know that. But a gourmet at a fair price must be rare. Just one problem: parking! At Qpark it's a steal!

Jef gastrobar is truly an asset to Maastricht. The service was very friendly and made you feel at ease. The food was very tasty and the price-quality ratio was good. I will definitely come back here again and I would recommend it to everyone.

Surprising vegetarian dishes in a friendly atmosphere and pleasant service.

The restaurant offers refined dishes that showcase excellent flavors and quality ingredients. The food is truly delicious, with great attention to detail in presentation. However, the pacing is quite slow, so plan for that. We only had a 3 course menu (which was excellent) but we were still there for over 2hrs - not a problem when you don't have a baby with you :)

If you are a leprechaun or have a gastric band, this is the perfect place. Bring your magnifying glass! What measly portions, it's just laughable. But once the bill comes, there's nothing to laugh about anymore. Then you can eat sandwiches at home.

JEF was solid, had a lovely meal and the service was truly great, but I think it lacked the cohesion of some of the other meals I've had at this price point. Feels like "fancy" is slightly more important than taste here, everything was quite good (the scallop was fantastic) but there were too many components to each dish and it distracted a bit. Overall would recommend!

A very nice, atmospheric evening to which the two enthusiastic hostesses certainly contributed. They do everything they can to please the guests in a relaxing way, not too stiff and yet correct, in Dutch, French, German or English. The food was very tasty, beautifully presented and tasty. It's nice that you could exchange the dishes between the menus (vegetarian and meat/fish) so that you had more options if you didn't like an ingredient or due to an allergy. We had a very nice relaxing evening.

Had a delicious meal at Jef's. This was the second time I have eaten here and once again it was excellent. One point of attention I think is the playlist, it could use some quieter music.
