Relaxed place, friendly service

Excellent opportunity to stay. Good ☕, apple pie is recommended and service smooth and friendly. Furthermore, it is of course also a beautiful park!

Some people just shouldnt be in the catering business. There's nothing like an unfriendly caterer serving mediocre food and drinks.

The location is exceptionally beautiful, the food is excellent, the wine too. Hospitable and friendly owners, no fuss. The atmosphere quickly improves, see previous. It's a pity that some dishes are quite expensive, while others are very affordable. All in all, do it! Friday afternoon, September 27, heavy rain outside, nice place inside again...

I had been meaning to go to this place for a long time because I really enjoyed it last time. I was looking for a nice spot in the sun and enjoying it, I would say. The menu has changed so I opted for a simple pommodirie soup with something to drink. As a student chef, tomato soup was one of the first things I learned because it is quite easy. This soup was accompanied with 3 pieces of bread and a delicious salted butter. I don't know what they put in the soup because I could faintly taste tomato, but otherwise it was dominated by some other stuff that made it rancid. Of course I ate it and it remains a matter of taste, but do not order this soup.

We didn’t eat here just had drinks. Location is really cute and cozy and the garden is nice. The place was packed so if you are impatient go at a time when it’s empty because it might take a while to get your order. The smile on the faces of the staff and what I think are the owners was genuine and very welcoming. Oh and the umbrellas/shades are really cool !

Beautiful idyllic spot on the edge of the van der Werfpark. Relax under the trees on the attractive terrace with a glass of wine.

We come here with some regularity. Very friendly and customer-oriented owners. The (lunch) dishes are more than excellent in quantity and quality. Wide choice of different wines. When the weather is nice you can sit there with a view of Van der Werfpark and/or Pieterskerk. Prices are very reasonable. We will definitely keep coming back

Nice place. However, Service and coffee taste not so nice.

Very rude staff, who were angry with us because they didn't have a certain tea. Sigh and groan when you ask for a card and then give a single card for an entire group. Fresh ginger with orange with a tiny bit in it, without any flavor. And that for 4 euros per cup. Once, but not again.

Maybe it was because it was so hot... But what unfriendly staff. We didn't feel welcome.

We were here with our 4 months old baby and we were not allowed to change her diaper. After being told in very rude way that we had to leave to change her diaper somewhere else. We had order lunch that we could not finish. There were two ladies who accused us of even ever thinking about changing this diaper. We asked polite before we started. And this was not a poopy one… There are enough nice places in Leiden. Please do not visite this one

This place has the WORST service I've ever experienced in Leiden. First they took so long in even approaching us in the table, it started raining and did not allow us to go inside (the place was empty inside), they just placed us in a table with an umbrella, but still we got wet since it was very windy. They also took away an extra chair where we had our bags/sweaters since they didn't want the chair to get wet. The coffee was very bad as well. The only thing that I could recommend is the cheesecake but it's nor worth it with such a terrible and cero friendly service.

Gezellig lunchpaviljoen met fijn terras. De lunchkaart is vrij standaard, maar de gerechten smaakten prima en de porties zijn ruim. De prijzen zijn aan de hoge kant .

Excellent place to relax and delicious food

Hier gaan we vaker graag lunchen! Leuke bediening, fijne gerechtjes.

De ontvangst was vriendelijk maar er vielen wat negatieve dingen op. Niet alles van de kaart was beschikbaar, kan gebeuren. Om 5 uur kregen we een pinautomaat gepresenteerd met het verzoek te betalen. Volgens de website was 6 uur de sluitingstijd. Vreemd dat je de deur wilt sluiten als er ongeveer 8 klanten binnen zijn, had je nog wat aan kunnen verdienen.

Heerlijke lunch. Goede producten. Lekkere koffie en thee. Zeer attente en vriendelijke bediening. Prettige sfeer. Leuke locatie aan de rand van het park.

Lekker kopje koffie of hapje in wat Franse aankleding, een wat troosteloze aanblik van het van der Werf park. Bediening wat aanwezig en niet erg innemend.

Heel romantisch en schattig plekje in het oude centrum van Leiden. Woon hier in de buurt, dus kom vaak langs om even een koffietje te doen terwijl mijn hond in het parkje speelt. De kaart is niet enorm uitgebreid, maar de dingen die er op staan vind ik allemaal heel lekker (tosti's, ei, sandwiches en veel gebak). zeker een keer de moeite waard om langs te komen, vooral als het lekker weer is!

Cosy café by the park, stylish, classic decor and kind staff. Highly recommend their club sandwich (one of the best I’ve had!). The coffee (latte machiatto in the picture) is also delicious. Perfect place for a cosy Sunday brunch. Definitely worth the price!

Sehr schönes Café in einem Pavillon am Rande des Parks. Die Bedienung ist ausserordentlich freundlich. Da wir nur etwas getrunken haben, kann ich leider nichts über die Qualität der Mahlzeit aussagen.

Heerlijk geluncht! Heerlijk rustig plekje in het oude centrum van Leiden, met mooie lunchgerechten, lekkere wijn, maar vooral ook vriendelijk en gedreven personeel. Aanrader.

Great little place away from the hubbub of the town center. It's located on the corner of the van der Werfpark in between the Rapenburg and the Steenschuur canal. Good outdoors seating and fine coffees, breakfast and lunch. Service could be improved though, as we had to wait at least 15 minutes to order food and had to signal the waitress 3 times before she finally remembered our table.

Bijzonder mooie plek. Het aantal keuzes op de kaart is beperkt, maar allemaal overheerlijk.

Ontzettend goed bediend door hele vrolijke frisse meid (blond halflang haar) in de bediening, wat een aanwinst!
