Super fun! Delicious food and then a movie!...great for kids.

Lovely terrace with a beautiful view over the water; the interior is also very atmospheric. It was originally the Navy non-commissioned officers' quarters, but has undergone a significant upgrade. Highly recommended.

Food was excellent, we had the seafood risotto and the steak followed by a chocolate brownie for the ages! Lovely staff, happy to have been there!

The food was mediocre; the poached eggs were overcooked (half-hard), the hollandaise sauce was either curdled or a mousse? In any case, not okay. The service was very poor; a bottle of rosé was placed on the table with the cap on and not poured or offered for tasting. None of that. Questions about the lunch were not answered, in other words, stop complaining?? I would not recommend this establishment after this experience. Unfortunately, not the hoped-for gem by the water. When paying the bill, however, I was spoken to very correctly by the manager, Dion, who showed understanding and handled it properly. We will give it a second chance in the future.

Only one vegetarian option for the main course? Without wanting to sound spoiled, but a choice of only one isn't really a choice.

Very pretty restaurant on the water. It’s a large space. The menu is very limited. I ordered the steak. It was artfully prepared and quite good. The sourdough bread was also very good. My advice would be to look at the menu and decide if there is something that appeals to you in advance.

The bitterballen arrived at the same time as the main course. The food was cold. The risotto was mediocre. Very nice spot, but the food was a huge disappointment.

We had wonderful two nights. Enjoyed a fantastic meal the first night. It would really help if they shared the quickest walk from Amsterdam Centraal station as there are small bridges not showing on Google maps which is more direct than using public transport and walking.

Unfortunately, a less than ideal experience with a group of 6 people. There was suddenly an event that we were notified of via WhatsApp message half an hour in advance. We were already having drinks nearby at the time, and booking something else on a Saturday night with a group of 6 isn't really feasible. We were able to eat until 7:30, even though we had reserved for 6:30. When we arrived, only pizzas were available, not the full menu. We placed an order, and after a while, they came back saying that a certain number of pizzas were sold out. We then waited a very long time (it wasn't busy) and received pizzas in stages (because you eat with a group); the pizzas were overcooked and certain ingredients, like gorgonzola, were missing. The table wasn't cleared, and drinks suddenly had to be fetched from the bar because the event had already started, even though no one had arrived yet. Also, after a while, when the event had started that we were supposed to stay for—and the manager had said we were still asked by different staff to go buy tickets🙈 A lot of internal miscommunication. Almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. They did do something with the price, but unfortunately, it was a joke.

A terrible shame. What started as a very pleasant evening ended with severe food poisoning. A pity, because the service was good, the food tasted excellent and was original. The presentation was top-notch, and the kitchen was clearly very involved with the Chef's Menu. Whether it was the fault of the kitchen, the suppliers of their mussels and prawns, or someone else, we will never know, but it had to be reported. Hoping that it doesn't happen to anyone else

I do not understand why this place is not packed all the time! The food is SO GOOD! Like high quality; well balanced, fresh and beautifully plated. The grilled cabbage will be in my food dreams for the next year at least. And the fresh sourdough was 🤌🏻

Ordered from side menu green salad (8/10), Seasonal vegetables (10/10) Baby potatos (8/10). Ordered as starter Fondant shallots (10/10) Ordered as main Hispi cabbage (8/10)

We were there in the evening (around 6:30 pm) for drinks. The staff was super friendly and we didn't have to wait long to order. There was live music, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Great food! Amazing atmosphere and very kind and attentive wait staff. The steak was perfect, the makerel was tasty. I wished the makerel was a full entrée portion! Drinks were great too. If you arent staying at Rooms25, Kanteen25 is still worth the trip.

Kanteen25 is spacious, with plenty of space both inside and outside. The view is fantastic (water, NEMO, Oosterdokseiland), and the service is also excellent. I come here quite often because I guide people around the Marineterrein, focusing on sustainability and maritime history. So I come to Kanteen25 alone, with a friend, or with a tour group. The location has a fantastic view on the water, beautiful during the night and nicely sunny during the day. Food and service were excellent, perfect for a group dinner - very spacious. Looking forward to going back!

The best vegan meal of my life. I typically do not eat vegan food - but their menu descriptions were enticing. I enjoyed the bitterballen, and their staff was incredible. They were quite accommodating to us dining with a toddler. We appreciate everything and loved watching the kitchen cook.

As a frequent by Kanteen25 over the past years, I have seen them evolve over time. From starting with a broad menu to a more selective menu (not a bad thing) they have become very good in what they offer. From home made spreads to offering quality meals, it is always a pleasure to come back. The service is also very personal and they always try to accomodate not just us but also our kids. The atmoshphere is very relaxed. A plus point is that the tables are not closely situated next to each other offering privacy.

Had lunch at Kanteen25 on New Year's Eve. It was wonderfully quiet, the tartare sandwich and the croque monsieur were delicious. Friendly service.

Great food, nice atmosphere inside. The location is incorrect on Maps, which is why we were initially in the wrong place. I'd suggest fixing it quickly; people need to find this!

Accidentally discovered this place when a Meet-up event was hosted here by a third party. Kanteen25 is a sizeable venue that leaves plenty of room for all the guests, the staff working behind the bar were brilliant and nice and decorations give it a warm and cozy atmosphere!

It was a really good place, enough space for everyone, not too loud, the service is fast and the people are kind ! The dishes are really nice and they have prices for students! I definitely recommend 🙂

We had a wonderful meal at Kanteen25! We got to try the new seasonal menu and it was a real treat! Before we started the menu, we also ordered the oysters, and wow, they were delicious and huge! We had the lobster bisque and the mushroom parfait to finish, a particularly tasty and light way to start your meal. The main courses were venison and duck breast, and I've rarely had such delicious venison 😍. It was perfectly prepared and melted in your mouth. You MUST try the potatoes as a side dish; I can only say WOW! They were fried in duck fat, making them incredibly crispy and delicious. The fig tart for dessert perfectly rounded out the dinner; it wasn't too heavy and tasted wonderful. Highly recommended to book a table; great atmosphere and delicious food, what more could you ask for? :)

Such a nice place to go and eat! First time o tried the lunch, and now I went here because of the Pizza Saturday. Whoever came up with this idea is a certified genius and should receive recognition for his or her brilliancy. It’s a compact menu with great tastes, which makes it more attractive to try, because it’s not too overwhelming and it begs for more. I will be coming back here more often, thank you!

This is the best place for us to end a day in Amsterdam. Nemo. Shipping. Parking in Oosterdok. The service is super friendly. Quiet, spacious layout. A convenient spot for our family with children aged 8 to 12.

There are restaurants where you're crammed together. Kanteen25 isn't like that; there was so much empty space that it almost felt a bit uninviting.

Excellent ambiance and service, maybe the menu should include some traditional dutch food and it will be perfect !

Beautiful location and a decent main course, but the service was terrible. I received a rotten oyster, and I've eaten oysters many times in my life, so I recognized this immediately. Even my dining companion smelled the foul odor. The staff reacted unapologetically and disinterestedly; the oyster was even on the bill and only removed after insisting. The dessert (banana crème brûlée) was also disappointing and we left it. Nice people, but unprofessional. I won't be back and don't recommend it.

Sat outside with a drink, then moved inside to eat. The food was truly delicious. The pointed cabbage that had just been added to the menu was a hit.

Standard food, some strange combinations. Like a salad, you actually get 1 kilo of potatoes in it ;) I understand this is a learning path restaurant, so... Definitely great for groups and a nice space for drinks. Tables are well spaced.

What a fantastic place! 🌟 Very dog-friendly 🐶💛 – which is, of course, super important to Frenkie. We had a wonderful time on the terrace, enjoyed a delicious meal, and enjoyed the drinks 🍽️🍷. The staff is friendly and very attentive 🙌, and the food was top-notch 👌. A nice bonus: there's a video arcade in the basement 🎮🎱. After dinner, play Pac-Man or a game of billiards with friends – how fun is that?! 🤩 In short: Kanteen25 is a place where you'll truly leave with a smile. 🌿🍻

We had such a wonderful time at Kanteen 25! The atmosphere is great, but what really made our visit special was the service from Omer behind the bar. He was so friendly, attentive, and professional truly going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. You can tell he genuinely cares about the guests. Great place, staff friendly but not very professional. The dinner menu is too limited, desserts not great (banana creme brulee is not recommended), and coffee was served lukewarm.

We came in on a Saturday and the place was quite empty. I had the chicken and waffles and unfortunately, the fried chicken was a little raw in the middle. Much to my dismay, the waiter explained that the chicken is normally a little pink like this which was a strange explanation. Then, he reluctantly brought the chicken back to the chefs to heat up and was nice enough to offer a 10% discount on the dish. Overall, a SO-SO experience.

With my fried egg, I asked for a lettuce leaf or a tomato on my sandwich instead of ham and cheese. Impossible, as the kitchen staff is sitting around doing nothing, they apparently don't have the time or the ability to make this happen. The waffle with the chicken isn't homemade either, unfortunately.

There is a guy, Omer, a Very Smart and Nice guy, Omer, which served used with his smile on the face and kindness the entire time sitting there. For sure he deserve 5* stars. the food and the drinks were very good, especially his spicy cocktail. For sure I will return to this place because of all this. The place is very cozy and nice near the water :)

Very nice hidden gem just outside of the busy streets of Amsterdam Central. Stopped by for breakfast and was greeted by friendly staff and taken to a table. Would definately recommend you stop by and check out their new menu!

The food is delicious, the atmosphere and personnel are perfect. But the ambition to be sustainable is not sufficiently expressed in the menu, much too few vegan options.

Most underrated place in Amsterdam

Although the food was very very good, the service lacked. We weren’t seated, had to collect our own menus and were willing to spend more money but we did not have anyone ask us if we wished for more food or drinks. We asked for the drinks menu, which we were given, but then not asked what we wanted ? Also there is no aircon inside, which on a hot day, should be noted.

I visited the conference restaurant, a large spacious and clean restaurant. A pleasant place right on the coast.

We were a group of five, dining with guests we had invited for a special evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations. For the first 15 minutes, no one brought us a menu. After we finally placed our order, we waited 45–60 minutes without receiving any food, not even the starters. Meanwhile, several tables that arrived after us were served before us. Oddly, our main courses were brought out before the starters, which arrived later. We ended up eating just bread for nearly an hour. While the staff eventually noticed the issue and offered an apology, the damage was already done. We genuinely regretted choosing this place, especially since it was a special occasion and we had recommended the restaurant to our guests.

The food was very tasty, but too expensive for the small amount. Unfortunately, the pizza menu is no longer available. I might try it sometime, but I would only recommend it for a snack and not for dinner.

I loved eating here when I stayed at Rooms25. So many yummy options, lots of local folks. The deck is especially lovely. They have blankets if it gets chilly. The staff were all lovely.

Was with a group. The steak was great ,enough for 1 person . The dessert was ordinary , each group members cake was a different size , some missing the layers of a tira misu .

We live here, so it's natural to eat the buffet here. The basic options are not too rich. However, you can hire a chef to make omelettes, scrambled eggs, etc., making the buffet meal even more worthwhile. The decoration here is quite unique, with outdoor seating, facing the waterfront and the NEMO Science Museum, and you can also enjoy the Dutch Maritime Museum. The scenery is beautiful. Therefore, there are many people dining here at night.

What a treat!! Went here after work with a few colleagues to hang out and unwind in the sun. We ended up ordering more and more food/beverages because one person would order something that looked so delicious that the others would want one too! The servers showed us incredible patience and kindness the entire time. We left feeling like we’d been on vacation!!

Food was ok, waiter was terrible.i come in and he is very unfriendly shouting at me "can I help you??". I think it was an Italian guy who is so rude. Your management needs to talk to him. Also before you try to ask me if it was a busy moment, no it wasn't. He was just behind the bar. And even if it was it is unacceptable to shout at your customer like we're doing something bad just by coming in

The place is nice, in the sun. But to have a drink, we waited 15 minutes around 4 p.m. and left, not a waiter had come by. It's a shame because we had a very good lunch there with reservation in the past.

I was one of the first for lunch. I ordered pancakes with fruit. After waiting 30 minutes (!?) for my (3) American style pancakes, they did not look very attractive. Just a few raspberries and blueberries and some maple syrup, around 3 flat rubbery looking pancakes. The taste was Bad, indeed rubbery and to top it off not even warm. The person who made this should go back to school. Very disappointing experience.

To have something with the family and children in peace, there was some snacks to accompany the drink but very simple. In good weather the terrace area is nice.

My son loved the mackerel sandwich. I had the pistachio sandwich. They are both good. The vibe is great and you can definitely hang out here with your friends for hours. It is by the river so it has a great view too

Fantastic place. Beautifully located on the water, high quality and culinary menu. Ideal for lunch, dinner, work or organizing an event. The team works with love on all dishes here, and you can see and taste that. Definitely a hidden oasis of peace.

Delicious food and we had nice spontaneous service.

We had made reservations for a Christmas lunch, assuming that there would also be entertainment (crafts) for the children. Unfortunately this was not the case, there were no craft activities that day (according to the staff only on a few Saturdays) and there is not much to do in the play area for young children. Very unfortunate... Furthermore, the service was good and the dishes were served quickly.

We had the pleasure of discovering this pleasant place during a walk. It is close to the Némo museum and offers a beautiful view of the water. The care given to our dishes as well as the warm welcome from the waitresses makes us want to come back without hesitation. Depending on the dish, the portions are more or less small and require a side dish. I recommend their homemade fries, they are excellent! The basement also has games for children. Finally, the restaurant decorated with taste and sobriety.

This is really nice place to go with the family. It’s very kids orientated with different games to keep them busy while you enjoy their good food! Staff very friendly also!

Great staff, but despite having a short menu they were missing a couple of dishes, and they forgot one of the mains (which the staff corrected with haste).

Had a canteen with friends. It's strange that there are few people at this time of year on a Saturday. Super friendly service. First an oriental beef. Spicy and very tender. Main duck breast which was also served good and tender. Wines a bit overpriced but tasty. Perhaps the somewhat remote location makes it so quiet at this time of year

please no more taco Tuesdays. It's not filling at all and it always falls apart :( Edit: The meal I am referring to is a specific CODAM mealplan not available for regular costumers and only available to CODAM students. Also, the taco from yesterday was an amazing improvement. The spicyness, guacamole, amazing, loved it! Thank you so much :D

Come here for dinner. Friendly service, nice bar. Very large space, not very cozy. The food was tasty, but certainly not the tastiest thing I ate in Amsterdam. Well located.

Food was very good and so was the service.

I recommend to other travellers to pick a different hotel. Reception has nobody most of the time. Breakfast is extremely slow, made me go hungry to the office. I explained twice to the waiter that I was late for work, the waiter came 5 minutes later to verify my very complex order (Black coffee, and scrambled eggs), and I said again that I was late. 15 minutes after that, when the order didn't arrive and I saw how calmly the chef was going around the kitchen still, I left. My colleague, from the same company as me, arrived around that time, and had a similar bad experience as well. I will make the same recommendation internally to other employees of my company; to not use this hotel.

Voor een zakelijke lunch hadden we voor 1 persoon nog een lunch nodig. Onze eigen cateraar kon dat niet kon leveren gezien het aantal allergieën waar rekening mee gehouden moest worden. Dit was voor de keuken van Kanteen25 geen enkel probleem. Er werd een broodje en een salade geleverd. En zoals betrokkene aangaf "blij verrast" te zijn en in geen tijden zo'n lekker broodje te hebben gekregen. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Skip the brunch - our table got a variety of dishes that came out both cold and overcooked. 2/10 on eggs Benedict, I noticed multiple people leaving half their food (and it’s not a large plate). The sautéed spinach and parmesan truffle fries were the standouts, but the service was slow. Nice view and location!
