I don't recommend anyone to deal with them

A rather dreary place where mediocre chicken is served by uninterested youth.

The children really want to go there again, but it's a disappointment every single time. We asked for 2 stripes on a crispy burger, but according to the staff, there should only be 1, even though the product photo clearly shows 2. So now we have half a dry bun with nothing. Well, that second one was probably already given away to his friends who come to eat without paying. We won't be going there anymore.

The food is delicious!!! I had the Colonel burger, very tasty and juicy chicken. Very delicious. My father had the Kipsalon, which was tasty but very spicy. The music is terrible, not my taste.

One of the worst KFC experiences I’ve ever had. First of all, they started closing off the seating area three hours before closing time by using chairs as a “barricade”, which even blocked our way out. Secondly, some of the chicken strips were undercooked and difficult to eat. The fries were okay. There was also an issue with the drinks, although I think that’s the franchise owner’s fault rather than the staff’s. We ordered two Pepsis and two Pepsi Maxes, but there was no way to tell which drink was which. For example, in Poland, regular and zero-sugar drinks are served in different types of cups. Another franchise-related issue was the sauce containers, which were almost impossible to open with bare hands. We actually had to use our keys to open them because the plastic seal was so tight.

Terrible place. I ordered just fifteen minutes before closing time and they gave the order to the wrong person. Then they refused to prepare another order properly, since I now have no food. The staff were also super rude and lax; downright ridiculous and a very bad experience.

Only one boy saves this place. The rest of the staff barely does anything and often sit talking to each other. The food is also often cold, raw, or missing ingredients. I often notice that even the food delivery people wait almost half an hour at this location to pick up the food, and that drinks often leak because they don't use cup holders.

I can't give a much higher rating; regularly wrong items or things forgotten in the order. I had indicated table service, but apparently I had to pick it up myself. The incorrect order was handled reasonably well. But still, it remains a mistake.

Well, it's a KFC, it just depends on who makes what. One time there's a huge mess in the container, other times the chicken is fine.

We hadn't been for quite a while because things often didn't go well, the food wasn't good, and the staff wasn't friendly either. We went back today after a long time, and what an improvement! The lady taking the order was super friendly, and it was ready super fast too. What an improvement, chapeau 🤗. We would love to come back under these circumstances.

The service level here is disastrous. This team lacks a good team leader who is present and ensures that everyone is on top of their work. The restaurant was downright filthy (and I come here often, so I am not talking about a one-off experience). Especially the toilets and tables. During the last visit, it was a mess both inside and outside at the seating areas (tables not wiped down, etc.). It is a shame, because if you do this right, you can at least compete somewhat with the neighbors (i.e., the Golden Arch). 6/6/26 addition to previous review. When dining in the restaurant, they offer the service of being served at the table. However, there are signs with table numbers that you have to take with you. This is not in order, making table service impossible. Not the deciding factor, but when I pointed this out, the lady in question was unhelpful. Very unfortunate, because it is crucial for the customer experience! Unfortunately, another poor rating.

Not the best KFC around. Staff not the most interested in doing the job. Food is prepared so so. The vibe in the place is just slightly off. Don't come in an hour before closing time, they will relegate you to a tiny section of the restaurant next to the toilets, because the rest has already been cleaned...

Very disappointed. The food didn't look fresh; some chicken pieces were very dark while others were pale. We ordered Original Chicken but received a mixed bucket. Additionally, the woman who served us was very unfriendly. I frequent KFC, but the quality and service have really gone downhill lately. After this experience, I won't be coming back here.

May 2026, early evening. Toll roads are clean! Ordering via the kiosk is pleasant and works well. The fries are soggy and not warm. With all our orders! The chicken is deliciously tender and the temperature is just right. Big minus... no coffee at this branch! For that, we had to go to the neighbors' golden arches....

KFC food is just good. However, in this restaurant, almost all the seats were cordoned off. They didn't feel like keeping everything organized anymore. They don't do table service either, and the remaining tables are quite dirty. The staff isn't friendly either. Now I understand why it's so quiet there.

I didn't like the food; the breading on the chicken was too thick. The taste was different, however.

At the drive-in you have to shout to be heard, and at sunset it is difficult to drive near the counter. Something could be done about that. The employee had trouble finding the menu we were given. We also had to pay a €0.30 deposit, for what? For cardboard cups? It shines right in your face.

We had a delicious meal; it was very fresh and nice and quiet at 11:00. We were served quickly and the staff was friendly during the day.

Not exactly fast food, having to wait half an hour. And on top of that, you get chicken with the feathers still on it.

The fries contained way to much salt! I could actually scrape it off my fries... For the rest it was okay. Update: after some time I went back and again the order wasn't processed correctly, no chicken at all for my son, the wrong milkshake for me and lukewarm fries. They offer table service but don't expect any napkins to clean your hands, those you have to pick up yourself. All urinoirs were also out of service and there was no soap left.

Nothing but young staff; I don't understand why they don't put a manager with some experience in place. Just young Africans who can barely speak Dutch and talk to each other in their own language. If you want to give some feedback, you have to use sign language, and then they talk to each other in their own language. With two people waiting in front of me, I had to wait 25 minutes for my food. You think you're going to get a hot meal, but forget it. They find it more important to dance and fool around with each other.

Great location in terms of layout, and the people are friendly. But the chicken is a bit dry and tasteless, and if you get a burger, the sauce has to do all the work. I don't know if this is KFC in general, or just this location.

I am very sorry. I absolutely do not think you deserve even a single point. You made a mistake on the menu, and after that, I felt uncomfortable. You didn't even provide extra sauce. You gave me a Pepsi with the cap already open. What else are you going to do? I'm sorry, but this was truly shameful. Additionally, your toilets smelled of urine. I am not at all satisfied with the hygiene. Sorry, this is my opinion, but the service and the way customers are treated is truly terrible. Truly terrible. I also feel very sorry about the money I paid, because I don't think you deserve it.

Horrible place. The staff is rude. And the food is inedible, so salty. Worthless! Don't go there! They also close way too early. The website says it opens until 11 PM, but they close at 8 PM.

1 star because 0 isn't possible. The order was incomplete and all the food was cold. After ordering at the drive-thru, it took far too long to get it. The staff seemed unmotivated and slow. Worst KFC in the Netherlands, highly recommended. Next time, drive to the neighboring restaurant with the yellow M; they also sell chicken there.

Through the drive thru, and then having to wait a long time further on, normally I don't mind waiting longer, but KFC made me really ill.

We had to wait a really long time in the drive-thru before we even got our food. We ordered at 4:45 PM, so it wasn't exactly busy for dinner.

Nice atmosphere, very pleasant. Unfortunately, the quarter pounder wasn't available. The fries were cold, unfortunately. The forgotten fries sauce was promptly delivered.

My first time at KFC, and I really enjoyed it! The fries were really hot/warm. The chicken could have been a bit warmer, but they weren't cold! They were a bit on the warm/lukewarm side. The milkshakes are really good! The food arrived very quickly!

What a crappy establishment. Order a combo box (spicy). Two strawberry milkshakes. Two original pieces. Two chocolate sundaes. I was charged €41, which wasn't right. But I only realized this when I was already home. What did I get? A box with only strips, no wings. Two chocolate milkshakes. And no straws or spoons. All in all, a crappy experience, and I will never come back here. Tip for the manager: please hire decent people. The staff doesn't seem interested.

I just picked up 6 hot wings from Kentucky Assen. The guy who helped me wasn't very nice and gave rude answers. The chicken was cold. It was 6 small pieces: 4 wings and 2 from the other side of the wings. I paid 6.85 cents. 15 minutes ago, it was baked, he said. Assen KFC is the only KFC where I often get this problem! I just read all the reviews. I also tried the chicken. I don't often dislike food, but I've never had it this bad. No flavor and cold! Please read the reviews and contribute!

The umpteenth time the order was wrong. It was usually resolved quickly. This time, no fries with the menu. Too bad.

Most of the restaurant had been cleaned and cordoned off. When it got busier, people had to stand. The cola tasted mostly like water. The food was decent. This was the very last time I've been here.

Bad service, understaffed, and my chicken was cold (how? Chicken is literally in their name; you'd expect them to be able to fry it properly). KFC in the Netherlands isn't great, but this branch manages to make it even worse.

It's a nice and spacious KFC. The tables are (usually) cleared quickly, and the floor is also kept reasonably clean. The food is just okay. The staff is generally friendly but also very busy with each other. The restrooms could be cleaned more often, and the parking lots are sometimes littered. A great KFC worth stopping by again.

Chicken is delicious, I love it. The red is pretty normal, just like all the others from this chain.

Order and service: the person I spoke with was friendly! Service guy: repeated my order. Order: 2 crunchy cheeseburgers WITHOUT bacon and a vanilla milkshake. Order at the window: (the same) friendly young man was present. Burger contents: wrong order. Burger contents: sloppy with the tomato ketchup! The tomato ketchup was squirted on too much. The tomato ketchup was spread all over the wrapping paper. Burger contents: 5 large pickles on each burger. Burger contents: 2 small chicken nuggets on a bun. Burger contents: the chicken and bacon were cold and soft. Chicken texture: soft, outer layer lacked crunch, tasted old. Bacon texture: not crispy, soft/slopped, tasted old. Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: was delicious! Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: not too sweet. Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: nice and creamy.

Edit: Went back again this week, but didn't improve much. Order incomplete, forgot to shake the bottle of sauce for the sundae, which left a thick layer of oil sludge on it. Had to go back myself for napkins, spoons, straws... Child got a children's menu with only a box of chicken popcorn and a small container of applesauce. They forgot fries, and the toys were gone. As compensation, both children received ice cream. Expensive, tasteless, and dry chicken. One star for the food, the second for the employee who let the children choose an ice cream because he realized we weren't very enthusiastic about the food. Not worth repeating.

I've been here three times, and every time it's the same: very messy and dirty, disinterested staff, and mediocre food that takes ages to arrive. I'll be choosing a different place to eat from now on.

In a bucket of 10 original pieces, there were only two small drumsticks and breast. Normally, it's a mix of everything, so this is very disappointing.

Waited 45 minutes for two menus, and indeed, the tables and floors weren't cleaned well. I thought, "Go to the toilet!" I've never seen such a wet floor! Regarding the staff, well, that's how young people treat people these days; they snap at them and just walk away. I won't be back, but I'll go to McDonald's.

Floors were filthy and greasy. The rest of the store was dusty and greasy. (Not something you get from a day of poor cleaning.) While ordering, I looked from the dusty and greasy cash register to the cashier's dusty and greasy hat; I slid back and forth a bit and then decided to cancel the order. Really disgusting... I'm never going back here.

The food was good, but the young man behind the counter wasn't really interested in what he was doing. He almost threw it on your plate. Enjoy your meal, or please, that was too much trouble. No music or anything to enhance the atmosphere, which wouldn't have been a bad thing. The food was good. I would definitely go there again.

What a filthy place. Only opened for an hour on Sunday. Toilets covered in dried urine and walls covered in... the windows were clean, but the rest of the place is eons. And this is life-threatening with chicken. Live the bacteria!

The burger didn't even remotely match the picture, and that for €10.99 for one. The chicken was decent, but also very salty, as is the case with many fast food restaurants these days. You practically have to top it off with a soft drink or ice cream. I don't think the staff were particularly enthusiastic today. A downside, however, is that the dishes are prepared with bare hands; no gloves, which is not very hygienic. I think that could be improved.

It's a shame you can't give less than one star! KFC Assen deserves a certificate for the dirtiest, worst, most disrespectful restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE!

It took over 40 minutes for the order to be incomplete. They immediately returned, claiming it had to be complete. After insisting, they checked and it turned out it was ready, but it hadn't arrived on a tray. The atmosphere wasn't great either, as the average wait for food was half an hour. Trash cans were overflowing. We were going to grab a quick bite to eat before another appointment, but ended up being late for our next one.

Just a KFC. For lunch, quick service. It was nice and quiet for lunch and the restroom was clean.

The place was quite dirty; the table wasn't clean, and there was trash everywhere. The food wasn't very fresh; I think it should have been thrown away and replaced if they'd followed KFC rules. The only positive was that we got a few extra tenders, but otherwise, I wouldn't go back. Most KFCs are cleaner, and I prefer fresher food.

The food was delicious, but we were cheated out of our recyclable cup. They didn't give us a refund and apologized. The others were also cheated out of it; they just wanted to make some extra money. Not nice.

Headquarters; please do something about this sinking ship. It's a shame we have a KFC in Assen that's as bad as this one. The children's play area has been "temporarily" inaccessible for months. Messy, no table service. Same stains by the window for a month. The table is sticky, the toilet is dirty... put a good manager with a RM in charge.

The food was fine; could have been a bit warmer. The staff was very unfriendly and had cordoned off half the restaurant ‘because they were almost closing’ (it was 21:15 when we arrived; closing at 23:00). When ordering, we ordered take-away cups so we could take them with us in the car; we get reusable cups and comments if we take them (but we pay 0.15 per cup). Numbers for table service were not available; so a number was called out softly 3 times. Finally, the restaurant was dirty and three customers walked in with a dog…

Terrible bad. Terrible staff shouting through the restaurant. Cold food, burgers not complete. Dirty tables and it's not even busy. Staff prefers to take selfies. Than be friendly.

Had to change my review. I am waiting right now more than 30 minutes for my order. This is not normal and the people who work here are not working really fast. And they just don't care. People are waiting where. The date 29-06-2025 18:18 I hope in the future i can change my review

Dirty tables and an hour wait for a table: a tragedy.

After the last time we gave KFC one more chance… But on a Tuesday evening we went in here to have a bite to eat. What first stands out is the staff who are working with long faces, they clearly don’t feel like it and are mainly busy with each other. In addition, we had to go through the entire ‘restaurant’ to find a clean table, and there were 2 other tables occupied…. The trash cans were overflowing, the trash was in front of and next to it. Even our three-year-old daughter said, it’s really dirty here, isn’t it! We won’t be back.

People don't feel like it anymore, we were standing in front of the window, nobody opened the window, how do they expect to make money?

Those half-baked kounavvels here clean two hours in advance, so we are constantly being sent away from our seats. The order here is also never complete, the tables and benches are dirty and the staff belongs in an asylum

Long wait, prices are excluding packaging how else do you get the milkshake? Say the price is 15 euro cents more expensive

People behind the counter goofing off, laughing and getting 6 out of 7 items of my order wrong. Get it together, stop hiring children. At least have an adult manager. EDIT: it just keeps getting worse. I've never been here and had my order come back right the first time around.
