Great restaurant! The food is excellent!

It takes a long time for them to prepare the food. Waited 40 minutes for it to be ready.

Most of the restaurant had been cleaned and cordoned off. When it got busier, people had to stand. The cola tasted mostly like water. The food was decent. This was the very last time I've been here.

Cold food, smelly toilet staff, talking street language and just calling people bro etc.

It is really not possible, the staff are not social and friendly, no good crockery inside, the tables are all dirty, not cleaned properly and the toilet is smelly

Bad service, understaffed, and my chicken was cold (how? Chicken is literally in their name; you'd expect them to be able to fry it properly). KFC in the Netherlands isn't great, but this branch manages to make it even worse.

It's a nice and spacious KFC. The tables are (usually) cleared quickly, and the floor is also kept reasonably clean. The food is just okay. The staff is generally friendly but also very busy with each other. The restrooms could be cleaned more often, and the parking lots are sometimes littered. A great KFC worth stopping by again.

Chicken is delicious, I love it. The red is pretty normal, just like all the others from this chain.

Order and service: the person I spoke with was friendly! Service guy: repeated my order. Order: 2 crunchy cheeseburgers WITHOUT bacon and a vanilla milkshake. Order at the window: (the same) friendly young man was present. Burger contents: wrong order. Burger contents: sloppy with the tomato ketchup! The tomato ketchup was squirted on too much. The tomato ketchup was spread all over the wrapping paper. Burger contents: 5 large pickles on each burger. Burger contents: 2 small chicken nuggets on a bun. Burger contents: the chicken and bacon were cold and soft. Chicken texture: soft, outer layer lacked crunch, tasted old. Bacon texture: not crispy, soft/slopped, tasted old. Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: was delicious! Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: not too sweet. Vanilla milkshake without whipped cream: nice and creamy.

Edit: Went back again this week, but didn't improve much. Order incomplete, forgot to shake the bottle of sauce for the sundae, which left a thick layer of oil sludge on it. Had to go back myself for napkins, spoons, straws... Another long wait for a simple order, even though there were hardly any customers. --- Long wait for order, even though there were hardly any customers. Child got a children's menu with only a box of chicken popcorn and a small container of applesauce. They forgot fries, and the toys were gone. As compensation, both children received ice cream. Expensive, tasteless, and dry chicken. One star for the food, the second for the employee who let the children choose an ice cream because he realized we weren't very enthusiastic about the food. Not worth repeating.

Well a bit hard crispy tasty took a bit longer but it's ok

I've been here three times, and every time it's the same: very messy and dirty, disinterested staff, and mediocre food that takes ages to arrive. I'll be choosing a different place to eat from now on.

In a bucket of 10 original pieces, there were only two small drumsticks and breast. Normally, it's a mix of everything, so this is very disappointing.

Waited 45 minutes for two menus, and indeed, the tables and floors weren't cleaned well. I thought, "Go to the toilet!" I've never seen such a wet floor! Regarding the staff, well, that's how young people treat people these days; they snap at them and just walk away. I won't be back, but I'll go to McDonald's.

Lots of rubbish in the restaurant, unfriendly staff.

Floors were filthy and greasy. The rest of the store was dusty and greasy. (Not something you get from a day of poor cleaning.) While ordering, I looked from the dusty and greasy cash register to the cashier's dusty and greasy hat; I slid back and forth a bit and then decided to cancel the order. Really disgusting... I'm never going back here.

The food was good, but the young man behind the counter wasn't really interested in what he was doing. He almost threw it on your plate. Enjoy your meal, or please, that was too much trouble. No music or anything to enhance the atmosphere, which wouldn't have been a bad thing. The food was good. I would definitely go there again.

What a filthy place. Only opened for an hour on Sunday. Toilets covered in dried urine and walls covered in... the windows were clean, but the rest of the place is eons. And this is life-threatening with chicken. Live the bacteria!

The burger didn't even remotely match the picture, and that for €10.99 for one. The chicken was decent, but also very salty, as is the case with many fast food restaurants these days. You practically have to top it off with a soft drink or ice cream. I don't think the staff were particularly enthusiastic today. A downside, however, is that the dishes are prepared with bare hands; no gloves, which is not very hygienic. I think that could be improved.

It's a shame you can't give less than one star! KFC Assen deserves a certificate for the dirtiest, worst, most disrespectful restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE!

It took over 40 minutes for the order to be incomplete. They immediately returned, claiming it had to be complete. After insisting, they checked and it turned out it was ready, but it hadn't arrived on a tray. The atmosphere wasn't great either, as the average wait for food was half an hour. Trash cans were overflowing. We were going to grab a quick bite to eat before another appointment, but ended up being late for our next one.

Worst KFC ever! The order is never correct! And often the chicken is completely dry...

It was delicious, especially the coriander version.

Just a KFC. For lunch, quick service. It was nice and quiet for lunch and the restroom was clean.

The place was quite dirty; the table wasn't clean, and there was trash everywhere. The food wasn't very fresh; I think it should have been thrown away and replaced if they'd followed KFC rules. The only positive was that we got a few extra tenders, but otherwise, I wouldn't go back. Most KFCs are cleaner, and I prefer fresher food.

The food was delicious, but we were cheated out of our recyclable cup. They didn't give us a refund and apologized. The others were also cheated out of it; they just wanted to make some extra money. Not nice.

Headquarters; please do something about this sinking ship. It's a shame we have a KFC in Assen that's as bad as this one. The children's play area has been "temporarily" inaccessible for months. Messy, no table service. Same stains by the window for a month. The table is sticky, the toilet is dirty... put a good manager with a RM in charge.

The food was fine; could have been a bit warmer. The staff was very unfriendly and had cordoned off half the restaurant ‘because they were almost closing’ (it was 21:15 when we arrived; closing at 23:00). When ordering, we ordered take-away cups so we could take them with us in the car; we get reusable cups and comments if we take them (but we pay 0.15 per cup). Numbers for table service were not available; so a number was called out softly 3 times. Finally, the restaurant was dirty and three customers walked in with a dog…

Find it very dirty and too. Few staff you could tell everywhere mess. We just went outside to eat

Dirty tables and an hour wait for a table: a tragedy.

People don't feel like it anymore, we were standing in front of the window, nobody opened the window, how do they expect to make money?

After the last time we gave KFC one more chance… But on a Tuesday evening we went in here to have a bite to eat. What first stands out is the staff who are working with long faces, they clearly don’t feel like it and are mainly busy with each other. In addition, we had to go through the entire ‘restaurant’ to find a clean table, and there were 2 other tables occupied…. The trash cans were overflowing, the trash was in front of and next to it. Even our three-year-old daughter said, it’s really dirty here, isn’t it! We won’t be back.

Service level is disastrous here. This team lacks a good team leader who is present and makes sure everyone is on top of their work. The restaurant was downright dirty (and I come here often so I'm not talking about a one-time experience). Especially toilets and tables. During the last visit it was a mess both inside and outside at the seats (tables not cleaned etc). Too bad because if you do this well you can at least compete with the neighbors (ie the golden arch)

Those half-baked kounavvels here clean two hours in advance, so we are constantly being sent away from our seats. The order here is also never complete, the tables and benches are dirty and the staff belongs in an asylum

People behind the counter goofing off, laughing and getting 6 out of 7 items of my order wrong. Get it together, stop hiring children. At least have an adult manager. EDIT: it just keeps getting worse. I've never been here and had my order come back right the first time around.

Every time I want to give KFC Assen another chance, because it is local, I am disappointed that they always forget to include something in my order. You are not getting cheaper, then I can at least expect my entire order. Still going to KFC Groningen then ;)

Had dinner with the family. Were there around 5pm. All tables dirty, not cleaned either. The bins so full that there was rubbish everywhere, on the floor, in the planters. Visibly grumpy staff. Cold fries, lukewarm burger. Chicken ok. Children's play corner closed.

Would recommend that a general manager takes a look. It isn't cheap and yet the whole restaurant is a joke. We came in at a very quiet time, 5 tickets total (Drive-Thru and regular orders combined). Our order took 20 minutes to be finished and yet it looked like it was thrown together in 2. Fries undersalted and soggy, the burgers barely having salad and sauce. Trashcan overflowing. Desks not wiped down. And a child/teen (?) walking behind the counter to fiddle with the screens while actively talking to others - also not in KFC uniform. The employees said nothing. I understand that HORECA is a soul-sucking industry. But people are paying for a service. Just a little care would mean a lot.

This is one of the best KFC branches I have visited in the Netherlands. The quality of the food is much better than many other branches, and it is well cooked and less greasy. They could be better about table cleaning.

What a breath of fresh air at this KFC compared to KFC Hengelo, staff is polite and tidy, tables, floor and toilet were clean on sight, food was hot..., why 4 stars then? The moment you grab the chair to sit down, the chair sticks to your fingers, so wash your hands again. Opening hours are somewhat limited, but that will be adjusted to the location. An affordable alternative to the very overpriced McDonalds restaurants. Saturday afternoon 13:30.

A bit of a shame, it wasn't busy and then for a handful of customers that were there, the orders weren't prepared properly. In 15 minutes 4 customers returned to have their order corrected. (1 customer even came back for the 3rd time for 1 order!!) We also had to go back inside to have our takeaway corrected. (And then later find out that the special was still wrong) Upd. After contacting customer service, received a KFC friends pass for 1 year. That was nice.

Long very long wait 42 minutes waiting for 1x fries 3 pieces of chicken fingers and 1 chicken sandwich and it wasn't even full what a bad KFC it is definitely the worst in the Netherlands and beyond 😥😬🤷🏻‍♂️😡

Took ages to get our food. Staff act like they are working but do nothing. Better go somewhere else if you want to save time.

Really bizarre how cancer bad this kfc is, everything is really bizarre dirty, now waiting 45 minutes for my order on saturday night. There are really 3 men working. Sws every time I come here they screw something up, or cold food, or it takes ages, or I don't get the right order, cancer store.

Today was King's Day and we thought let's give the KFC another chance after every misery... *There were far too few staff. *The drive was closed (very strange) *There was no clean table to be found.. *Kids room closed off (which is already a mockery). *the windows to the outside are just gross. *the toilet room is too dirty for words (nice music). *Waited 55 minutes for food. * Charged a 1 euro cup deposit and received a disposable cup that you could not return. *no staff who are concerned or even attempt to clear tables or sweep through the place. *several order screens did not work. Go on, go on... I wonder if anything is ever done about the criticism??? This is the way to ruin a restaurant with such staff and no management. Very unfortunate!

Judging from the reviews, there is a lot wrong with this branch. Had to wait more than 30 minutes the day before yesterday while two other tables were occupied and the drive was empty. The parking lot was a mess of garbage, the staff stood in a large group in front of the counter chatting. Once the food arrived it was lukewarm at most. Not worth repeating.

Lack of qualified personnel. No insight at all into running a restaurant. People inside the restaurant waited more than an hour for their orders, while drive-thru customers were served within 10 minutes. Like other people, we asked for our money back and went to McDonalds where we had our food within 5 minutes. So it can be done that way!

Lousy service today. 60 people inside had been waiting for more than an hour while the drive through received all the attention of the employees. According to him, the manager was not “allowed” to decide for himself whether to help the people inside. We and others with us just asked for our money back and left. So for the time being you don't have to expect to get food here.

Very very big disappointment. All the tables and floors are filthy. First you have to look for the cleanest place to sit and you still have to clean your table yourself because the staff doesn't have time for it. We had to wait 62 minutes for our food, this is really unacceptable. While the drive was served within 10 minutes. We had several children with us and luckily we still had food in our bags. The staff was very unfriendly and didn't seem to care at all. No apologies for the long wait and not even bon appetit. It was that our friends had already received food, but otherwise we would have walked away. KFC was always a go-to, but the quality decreased significantly per visit in Assen. Chaggie staff, dirty tables, burger with more sauce than burger. If you say that all the tables are dirty and if they want to clean yours, you get: we are going to close soon and we will clean the tables. Made it clear that I do not agree with this and that they will clean the table. With grumbling it is finally over. I also avoided the toilet… damn it man. I strongly recommend that you check with the managers about the situation and the atmosphere, whether your staff understands what customer-friendly means. Considering the other reviews, we are clearly not the only ones who are annoyed by the downright filthy conditions.

Pretty neat restaurant, no waste around the building, it is clean inside. Service is good but can sometimes take a little longer when it is busy. Price is excellent for quality. Lots of choice for food including vegetarian options

We have been going to KFC in Assen regularly for years, and although we have always had good experiences, our visit today was a huge disappointment. The restaurant was very dirty; most of the tables were not clean and there was food and drinks on the tables and the floor. We had to wait almost half an hour for our order, and when we finally got it, it was way too greasy and not of the quality we are used to. Given the good experiences of recent years, I give 3 stars, but if it stays that way, 1 star would actually be too much. Unfortunately, today's KFC is very different from, say, a year ago. The service and hygiene have deteriorated considerably. I hope they improve the quality and hygiene soon, because we always have good memories of this restaurant.

Today I felt like having KFC but got flashbacks of all the times that half of the order was forgotten, wet butter in the take-away bag, missing ingredients on burgers and wraps (even when extra ingredients have been paid for), forgotten fries at the drive, no whipped cream. On the ultimate ice cream (even when you ask, the manager doesn't do anything with it), no napkins at the drive several times. At McDonalds these things are a lot better. Sorry for the truth. But I don't feel like hassle for today. Update: I want to come by for the new lava wings, but I know it will fail anyway as all previous times have proven this. Terrible, staff unfriendly, disinterested and not professional. Hygiene far below par, all the waste bins were overflowing and you couldn't get rid of your waste. The floor was super dirty and when you indicated to the staff that the trash cans were all overfull, they said yes, we will clean it up soon. The times are also not correct, I have been there an hour before closing and then you can't order anything anymore because they have already turned everything off..... The staff will also make you wait a long time even though there is almost nothing to do, they will happily wait half an hour for your order. Never again KFC Assen.

The food is always good, and I enjoyed the friendly, helpful staff. Definitely worth driving past McDonald's and going to KFC!
