The decor after the renovation is a mix of NYC speakeasy and boudoir style, I love it! The menu has become simpler, though. But the food is still good! Eggs with mayo are a great addition :) excellent cocktails. I've been coming here for years and hopefully for many more years to come.

The food was really tasty, but there wasn't much on the menu for me. Pleasantly surprised by the good taste. There were a lot of old people. No place for me. We were also unnecessarily seated at uninviting tables while we were celebrating a birthday. That was a shame.

I don't recommend this place. We waited a long time for our order, even though the restaurant was sparsely populated. They brought us steak and salmon, but neither the fish nor the steak was well done. We didn't ask before ordering whether we wanted the steak well done. We just assumed we wanted it medium. The fish was rare, so I asked for it to be cooked through. They brought another piece of fish 10-12 minutes later, even more raw. We had to ask again for it to be cooked well done. We took it away, and had to wait another 10 minutes. We even tried to refuse it through another waiter who happened to be passing by and saw our upset faces. They didn't even apologize for the incident; only one waiter, who had nothing to do with our order, modestly said, "Sorry." Overall, the restaurant looks nice, but the service is very poor.

We sat on the terrace here on a sunny Saturday. There was still plenty of space around 4 pm. The service was a bit slow. I had ordered baguette and iced tea. No napkins came with the bread, so I had to use my own tissues. Then it took a long time again before I could get napkins. Regularly, the wrong orders arrived at the wrong tables. Except for one waiter, they all spoke English. The dinner menu was also taken away while we wanted to order food. The food took a long time to arrive. We had ordered salmon and steak. The salmon was good. The steak was okay. The fries were very crispy, making them hard and not tasty. The salad was a whole head of lettuce with very large leaves, making it difficult to eat and requiring you to cut it yourself. There was also a lot of red onion in the salad. The staff could certainly provide better service. The only staff member who understood the rules was the young man who was also the only one who spoke Dutch; at one point, he ran the whole terrace by himself, and that went very smoothly. The interior inside is beautiful, though. 1950s style. The light in the toilet is very dim. All in all, an okay experience. The bench on the terrace was comfortable.

A very pleasant experience, excellent service, especially from our waiter Lucas, who served us in Spanish, which we greatly appreciated. He was friendly and attentive, always checking if we needed anything. Truly, the service was outstanding. The food and Lucas's recommendations were spot on. Without a doubt, when we return to Amsterdam, we will dine at this establishment again, especially with waiters like Lucas. They make you feel right at home. The service was incredible; 5 stars simply don't do it justice.

Have had drinks on the terrace a few times already, and now had dinner. Bouillon 3.0! You pay a bit more, still not too much, but you can stay as long as you want. A breath of fresh air, affordable food without being kicked out after 1.5 hours. Steak frites tasty, bisque delicious! Staff amazing, not all of them speak Dutch, but neither do we in Amsterdam.

A nice place. We sat inside but it was too cold because the large windows were wide open. We went to sit all the way at the back. The service was top-notch. The food was nothing special and therefore relatively expensive. The coffee machine was broken, so there was no coffee. They also refused to get it from the neighbors as a courtesy. There was live music, but the clarinet was playing incredibly loud and we really had to speak loudly. All in all, I won't be coming back there to eat. The terrace in the sun in the summer can be nice, of course.

Very chaotic staff; they walked past my table at least 10 times, which made me very uncomfortable. Furthermore, if you ask for a carafe of water, they say no. There are also very few Dutch staff members; I'm done with that too! At the cloakroom, they lost my coat, even though there were only 4 coats there. Very disappointing; I'd rather go to Bouillon, where they understand what real service is and are nicer too!! So, as far as I'm concerned, this place really needs to make a big change or close down!

I have to say, amazing! We opted for the sharing dining concept, which means "And... And." That was truly top-notch! Everything tasted equally delicious: the Sea Bass, the Code du Boeuf, etc. We had the house wine, a Cotes de Cascogne Blanc, which was truly delightful and pleasantly priced! It's also nice for a change not to always pay top dollar for something tasty! Wonderful ambiance! In short, highly recommended!

Great to see Rembrandtplein is elevating its hospitality game. Amazing revamp: food was on point, service attentive - despite how busy it was - and late in the evening it turned even better. Yes, I’m a bit skeptical about touristy squares in Amsterdam but this one is worth the visit.

We opted for two very good steaks and fries, served with a meat-based sauce and mayonnaise. And their chicken. All accompanied by a warm baguette and garlic butter. Asia, the hostess, was attentive and gracious, as was Emma, ​​the girl who served us at the table. Compliments to the manager and all the staff. I'll be back and recommend it to everyone.

Unexpectedly ended up at Chez Van Rijn on a Friday evening. I used to know this place as De Kroon. Pleasantly surprised by the luxurious, warm atmosphere and the ambiance. Friendly and efficient staff. Dynamic cocktail bar and comfortable sofas. The resident DJ played with the right vibe, and there was also live singing by a very good singer à la “Frank Sinatra”. Super relaxed place with a nice crowd. A great addition to Rembrandtplein and the city!

We stopped to have dinner, but the staff on the terrace didn’t even acknowledge us. In fact, they even suggested that we shouldn’t have dinner there. We asked for the dinner menu three times, and only after insisting did they finally bring it. They were very arrogant and dismissive, especially the young man on the terrace outside. Inside, however, the ladies were very pleasant. The terrace is a BIG NO. I wouldn’t have left this review if we hadn’t been treated with such arrogance and disdain.

We sat there with a group of 3 and lucas from Argentina served us and he was so kind and he gave us a good service. So when ever you are there make sure lucas is there he will make u feel at home ( warm feeling )

While shopping, we wanted to grab a quick drink and a small snack here. There were four of us, and it took about half an hour before someone came by to take our order. The staff were mostly busy doing nothing, pushing chairs around, walking back and forth aimlessly, and chatting amongst themselves. After waiting another ten minutes, two of us received our drinks; for the other two, I had to speak to the staff after a long wait. I have no idea where they were. (A glass of wine and an iced tea doesn't seem that difficult to me.) Apologies were made, but I saw that many people around me were complaining. Conclusion: nice place inside, but very poor service. A real shame. Also for the owner, because they could be generating much more revenue.

It is a nice restaurant, however, the staff are aggressive. I cannot call them waiters. I understand that they pour the drinks, but if you don't want ice in your drink, they just slam the ice onto the tray along with the cola; the customer is expected to finish the rest of the cola because the employee does not offer a new one. I find it a disgrace for such an expensive restaurant! Finally, when I wanted to pay with my debit card, the card reader didn't work! Anyway, she said she would go get another card reader, and that I should go to the toilet... and then she came to get me from the toilet. What a primitive affair...

Fantastic restaurant for trying out different food as well as drinks. Lots of options! Especially the cocktails (I highly recommend the La Vie en Rosé). Upon entering, you receive a warm welcome and immediately feel a nice and pleasant atmosphere. The service is top-notch, drinks arrive quickly, and the food tastes of high quality. It’s an okay place to have a drink. It seems that people don’t have a clue what they have or don’t have in the menu. I was there a couple of times and had kind of the same experience. The place smell a lot like meat but the decoration is nice.

Yesterday afternoon we had to wait well over half an hour before we could order anything, then it took a long time for the drinks to arrive.... and then when paying, noticing that the price of Chablis had been charged for 2 Chardonnays (€3.00 more). It was resolved, but hopefully this was an isolated incident.... otherwise, a truly beautiful establishment in a stunning location!

Terrible. No food choices for those with allergies apart from salad. They say things are cooked fresh and prepped or processed and yet they were unable to offer anything other than salad. Servers totally clueless about what I could eat. I had to ask them to ask the chef and the answer was basically nothing except salad. Drinks served and the glass was dirty which I also had to point out to the server. I would not recommend and nor will I go again.

Go here if you want to be ignored and want to feel invisible! The staff told us they would come to take our order and never came , walking past us giving us eye contact also and just ignoring us, we then decided to approach the bar stood there for around 5 minutes again to be completely ignored but also be given eye contact to say - I know you’re there but I don’t care !

No food after 50 minutes! We waited for our food for over 30 minutes. After that, I asked if they could please speed things up and why the food still hadn’t arrived. They said they would check. After another 10 minutes, I asked to speak to the manager to understand what was going on. He told me he would check and then came back saying the food would be out within 10 minutes. Ten minutes later, there was still nothing. At that point (50 minutes after our order), we were frustrated and extremely hungry, so we decided to get up and leave. Very disappointing experience and poor management overall.

I had a lovely meal there with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. The service was good, but it took a while to get our food, which was understandable, as the restaurant was packed. But we didn't really care.

Just had a company dinner here. Vegetarian options were provided. The main course ended up being just risotto with half a mushroom. Literally nothing else. When I asked if there was anything else coming, I was told, "No, but there's more than enough risotto." The starter was a quarter of a carrot and a quarter of a head of chicory on a flavorless white foam. The ingredients list did contain a lot of difficult Japanese words. The dessert was good, but I'm going home to cook some more at 11 p.m. The service was prompt and attentive. The heat was so high that everyone rushed out to Rembrandtplein after dessert.

Super nice cook came by to ask something, kind service and atmosphere but quite expensive and small portions. Tasted great.
