I completely disagree with the last review. An Indian restaurant and THEN bland food??? We, my wife, daughter, and I, were welcomed by a very beautiful and very friendly hostess. The entire buffet was explained to us well, and if we found something too spicy, we had to let her know. Very friendly service and the food was incredibly delicious. What a taste sensation. A solid ten!!!!

Worst experience. Very rude behavior by the manager lady. Specially when i asked for nuggets and she said yes there is a meal with 3 nuggets and fries, i said yes please make 4 portions for kids as we were having 6 kids with us. Then the order came wirh fries only, waiter didnot bother to answer why there are not nuggets with fries and then he said while leaving that no nuggets and ask manager. Then i call manager lady and she came and said no muggets, i said u didnt mention it before. She said with very rude talk and attitude that i dont know. And at last she was very rude as we were guests with my friend and my friend asked while paying that we dont have any issue with nuggets but your way of talking is not good. Then again she said go away from here. Summary, worst experience with the lady manager and overall exp of food is bad as well.

The restaurant has a rather peculiar drinks menu. It lists various types of beer, including Indian beer, and wines, but these are subsequently not served because the restaurant is alcohol-free. If you know this, it is stated at the bottom of the menu, but then why are beer and wine listed on that menu?

Very pathetic 3rd class service, the lady manager and staff was very rude. Unfortunately there is no option to check even less than 1 star..... We visited with family and spent more than 330 Euros, the lady manager herself told that we can order fries and suggets, and when we ordered. They informed us in a very rude manner the unavailability, and kept on talking rudely to us during whole visit.... It was our mistake to choose Kitchen Rani over Ghani resturant.... Never ever visit this rude pathetic place, zero value for money, boycott....

Today, 11-07-2026, I went to eat at Kitchen Rani with my husband. Everything was top-notch again, just like always. Kitchen Rani truly remains my favorite. The food, the hospitality, everything is very good and delicious! See you again soon!

We had a great time hosting a party for 20 guests at the restaurant. The staff was very accommodating to our wishes on the menu and provided excellent service to us. All our guests had only positive feedback on the food and selection (half of the guests were vegetarian) with something for everyone.

The food was delicious. I am a big fan of pIndian food and they didn’t disappoint. They served me perhaps the best I have ever had .

I normally never post reviews, but after this experience, I feel it is important to warn others. While my cola was being poured, there was a silverfish larva in my glass. Fortunately, I hadn't drunk from it yet, but my appetite vanished immediately and I stopped eating and drinking right away. Additionally, the food was very bland, it took a long time before we received our drinks, and the staff didn't come across as very friendly. The music was also so loud that a normal conversation was barely possible. All in all, a very disappointing experience and no reason for me to return.

We hosted around 100 guests representing more than 14 nationalities. For many of them, Indian cuisine was a completely new experience, yet the food was so beautifully prepared and presented that they thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Several guests even asked about the cuisine afterward, eager to learn more, which speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity of the food. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their exceptional service, warm hospitality, and attention to detail. They played a huge role in making our event a resounding success. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a memorable dining experience for their guests!

We visited Kitchen Rani on a Saturday afternoon with our two children. The restaurant was filled with both small and large groups, and we immediately enjoyed the ambience when we walked in ☀️ The hostess greeted us warmly, showed us to our seats, and explained the dishes to us. There was so much choice, with all the food being genuinely flavourful and freshly prepared 🍽️ We had a lovely time here. The food was excellent, and the staff were very kind and helpful 🙏🏽 We will definitely visit Kitchen Rani again.

It was a quiet weekday evening. A lovely lady explained how the buffet works and what dishes are available. The dishes tasted delicious. I had a pleasant evening with my team. There were also other larger groups at other tables, but it was not noisy.

Today ate buffet with my friend we both have problem. Very bad even tomorrow we have to go to the huisarts . Shouldnt expect that and need my money back . Spend 85 euro and ate old food not worth it at all.

The children could play their games quietly there, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the evening. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Additionally, the restaurant looked fresh and well-maintained. The music was also at a pleasant volume, allowing for comfortable conversation without it getting too loud. What appealed to us most was the warm and relaxed atmosphere. It truly felt like a family restaurant where hospitality is paramount. A successful evening and definitely worth repeating. We ate here today with 7 people and spent a total of €235. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food was cold, tasteless, and of mediocre quality. For a buffet, you expect a wide selection and that everything is fresh and at the right temperature, but that was not the case here. Additionally, it was disappointing that drinks were not included in the price. An extra €4 had to be paid for every drink, which made the bill significantly higher. For €35 per person, you expect much better food, more variety, and a more complete buffet experience. Moreover, the selection was limited. All in all, we found the value for money to be very poor and would not eat here again. Do not go here!

I've ordered from here several times through Uber Eats; you can pick it up at the restaurant or have it delivered to your hotel (outside). The food is always very hot, fresh, and delicious. The portions are very large, and the price is absolutely reasonable for authentic Indian cuisine.

Absolutely disappointing experience. The food quality and variety were far below expectations for an Indian all you can eat restaurant. Most dishes lacked authentic flavor, and the curries were overwhelmingly sweet rather than balanced or properly spiced. The desserts were especially poor, cold gulab jamuns sitting out with no freshness or taste. Every dessert was disgusting. The tandoori section was the only somewhat decent part, but even that had minimal variety: basic chicken, lamb, mushroom and one paneer dish only. No fish options, no dosas, no samosas, no pakoras, very surprising for a restaurant claiming to offer Indian buffet cuisine. On top of that, every drink, including water, was charged separately and overpriced. The chai was honestly one of the worst I’ve had. The atmosphere also felt outdated and poorly maintained, and the buffet area itself was very small and limited. I genuinely do not understand the high ratings this place receives because the experience did not reflect them at all. If you are looking for a much better Indian all you can eat experience, I would strongly recommend Indian Lounge in Hoofddorp instead. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

You cannot be 100% halal if you sell alcohol, because alcohol is haram, both selling and consuming it. And since you do not sell beef, I think you do this for your own religious reasons.

The food is good, but there's very little choice, and the music is quite loud. There are very, very few options for people who don't eat meat. No fish was available on the buffet. The dessert buffet offered very little choice: three kinds of fruit (unripe) and four "sweets," including a tasteless rice pudding. So, it's expensive for what it is…

Fantastic restaurant with a view of the sea and the best biryani we'd ever tasted. The street food bar was a delicious revelation, the lamb was divine and the butter chicken just melted in your mouth. The service was exceptional, with the Indian version of an Irish Mammy insisting on sending us home with a takeaway fruit salad because we'd eaten too much to want dessert. We will definitely be back, and soon.

I visited this restaurant on a weekday and was surprised by how much the quality has declined compared to last summer, when I had a very good experience. The weekday buffet had very limited options. There were only a few desserts, and even those seemed to be there just for the sake of it. The salads were not fresh. I ordered a large bottle of water, but they didn’t have any available. Instead, I had to order two small bottles (200 ml each), and they charged €7.50 per bottle. That wasn’t even enough for one child. Although the weekday menu offers far fewer choices than the weekend, the price remains the same at €35 per person, which doesn’t feel justified. The atmosphere was also disappointing. The restaurant was completely empty despite being very large. Dining in such an empty space felt dull and uninviting.

We had made a reservation, but when we arrived, it turned out to have been canceled. I have no idea how this happened, but luckily the staff member indicated she still had a spot available. So we were able to sit down. It was incredibly busy on a Saturday, but the staff did their best to clear tables and take drink orders promptly. The price is a bit on the expensive side; the selection isn't very wide, and you pay €35 per person. If there had been a fish or shrimp dish, the price would have been more reasonable, in my opinion. Drinks are not included, so it quickly adds up. The food is very tasty, though; the meat (chicken and lamb) was delicious. Jalebi was petrified, but the mango lassi dessert made up for that. We went home with full bellies. Most importantly, we didn't have any stomach problems after the meal. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely not recommended. The food wasn't just bad, it was completely tasteless. Even the cucumbers were dried out. There was barely any dessert options, and the restrooms were downright filthy; you literally stuck to the floor. We left after one plate, and later that evening we all had stomach aches. Once, never again!!! You have to ask 10 times to refill the lamb, butter chicken, no shrimp, no docs.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and it was a delightful surprise! The owner was incredibly welcoming and explained their all-you-can-eat service. Despite its elegant setting, the restaurant feels very comfortable. The music is strategically placed so it's easy to hear without being overwhelming. The food is absolutely top-notch; you can truly feel the chefs' passion for preparing it. We also received a very special and kind service- even more so for our daughter. I highly recommend it! We will definitely come back.

Last Sunday, I celebrated my 30th birthday with a group of family and friends (31 people). We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the excellent service, and the delicious food. There was plenty of choice, so even the picky eaters in the group enjoyed it. I'd like to thank all the staff at Kitchen Rani for their excellent service and flexibility. We'll definitely be back!

Very cozy and good variety of food.

Last Friday, we celebrated my birthday at Kitchen Rani. The food was delicious; just the right amount of spiciness for my children to enjoy, and the pani puri corner is fantastic! The desserts were also a hit. The sweetness was just right. Hostess Samya is wonderful. She makes you feel at home. Thanks in part to her friendliness and service-oriented approach, we will always return. Samya is the true calling card for this restaurant. While serving, she happened to realize it was my birthday, and what a surprise she gave me! Thank you, Samya, I will never forget this birthday thanks to you!

We had never been to Rani Kitchen before. Yesterday was our first and last time. It was VERY disappointing. Here are a few negatives. We weren't even asked what we wanted to drink; we had to ask repeatedly. Finally, she brought a drinks menu that also listed alcoholic beverages. When I tried to order a glass of white wine, the woman said they didn't have any alcoholic beverages. In that case, I think you should remove the alcoholic beverages from the menu. The food wasn't tasty. The dessert was nothing special. There were no cards with the food. We had to keep asking, "What's this?" or "What's that?" The atmosphere wasn't pleasant; many tables and chairs were empty. In the restroom, I found an employee washing his feet in the sink where you're normally supposed to wash your hands after using the restroom. I confronted the employee, and he looked at me and started laughing. I even reported it, but she acted as if she didn't care. This REALLY can't be done. Absolutely no more Rani kitchen for me.

The worst customer service e.g. bad food better choose another restaurant

At first glance, it looks good, but appearances can be deceiving. The main courses are okay, but the meat is overly seasoned and burnt, leaving a lingering aftertaste. I ordered mango lassi and was served a tiny glass of yogurt that had nothing to do with mango lassi, but I paid €4 for it. The dessert corner is a joke and has nothing to do with Indian cuisine. I'm talking about two years ago, but now it's not worth it and quite expensive for what you get. I'd say skip Kitchen Rani and go to a truly good Indian restaurant.

It's a shame the restaurant has gone downhill. I expected to find authentic Indian sweets like rasmalai, samosa, burfi, and jalebi, but unfortunately, they weren't there. Instead, there were Dutch desserts, things you can also get at the Gouden Wok, so to speak. That, in my opinion, doesn't belong in an Indian restaurant. The mango lassi was also disappointing: a small glass for €4.00. In 2023, the selection was much more extensive and better, and it was a truly Indian concept. Furthermore, the refills weren't refilled properly or quickly, which made it even less appealing. I mentioned this when paying, but the woman behind the counter didn't seem to pay much attention (she seemed to have a headache). It's a shame, but I won't be back.

Enjoyed a "high tea" on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, it wasn't the high chai/tea advertised. It was just a buffet. The sweets were also scarce, which kind of misses the point with the concept. The savory food—just rice and curries and such—was delicious, of course. But that wasn't what I came for; I would have preferred it for dinner, not in the afternoon. I'm giving it 3 stars because the reality is different from the ads for the high chai on social media. The variety of sweets was also less than expected. The platters in the reels look very different, which is actually what I came for.

Impossible!! Normally, it takes 2.5 to 3 hours to eat if you make a reservation starting at 5 PM. When you arrive, they tell you that because it's busy, you can only stay for two hours, which isn't the intention. So, not recommended!!

We had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience here as a family with a 2-year-old child. We were seated on a sofa where the wallpaper was already torn. During dinner, our child pulled slightly on the already damaged area (2–3 cm). While settling the bill, a staff member (who later claimed to be the owner) approached us, saying they had checked CCTV footage and demanded that we provide our number to cover “insurance” for the wallpaper. Under Dutch consumer law, customers are not responsible for pre-existing damage in a restaurant, and it is not lawful to demand insurance details without proof or agreement. This felt like someone trying to take advantage of the situation. What made the situation unacceptable was the way he behaved: • He dismissed our concerns and refused to listen. • He made discriminatory remarks to my wife, saying he would only speak to me as “the man.” Such gender-based comments go directly against Dutch equality and anti-discrimination standards. • He accused us of not raising our child properly in front of our children • He first said he was staff, then claimed to be the owner, making his statements unreliable and not trustworthy. • When we asked to see the footage or speak to a proper manager and he refused stating that he is no time and just provide the number or not even willing to share their names. We paid respectfully for the food we ate, but the overall treatment was shocking—disrespectful, discriminatory, and legally unreasonable. In the Netherlands, families should feel welcome and safe when dining out. Sadly, this was not the case here, and we cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience. It’s a pity to know people with such disrespectful behavior still prevails. Being truthful and honest is what matters end of the day. Hoping such realizations are brought into their lives rather than trying to pursue the path full of lies.

I'd been curious about this open-buffet restaurant for a while. My family and I had a delicious meal on my birthday. Every dish was prepared with care and love, which is quite special for an open-buffet restaurant. The staff is also very warm, welcoming, and helpful. The hostess was working with a young man who was even on his first day. He did an excellent job, and his support and hospitality came naturally. If you love Indian food and can embrace the explosions of flavors in the dishes, richly prepared with the iconic spice combinations, you've definitely come to the right place. The atmosphere is also pleasant, and the music is appropriate to complete your experience. All the food is halal, and there are plenty of vegetarian options.

Truly the best Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at! A fantastic buffet, even with a pani puri bar, featuring a variety of delicious fillings. And for dessert, Gulab Jamun! If only I lived closer, I'd definitely come here more often!

Keep in mind that it's self-service only, so don't expect table service, even though the staff are kind and helpfull. A great spot if you're hungry and love authentic Indian cuisine!

One of the best Indian buffet restaurants in the Netherlands and the location is perfect for dinner. The elegant interior with a stunning view of the Scheveningen beach from inside made the experience worthwhile. The food was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of veg and non-veg options. The desserts were just mouthwatering. Definitely would love to try again.

Beautiful little restaurant in the Hague. The food there was fabulous and the people were so helpful though a little judgy. But goodness the food was amazing, proper Indian food. Such a lovely environment too lots of seating and tons of food options. I ate so much and it was amazing. Would recommend absolutely.

We had a delicious meal with a group of 16. Everything was fresh and replenished regularly. We had several telephone calls and contacts during the week of the reservation. The staff is really helpful and cooperative. The service on the evening itself was also great!

Our experience with this business was downright disappointing and immediately set the tone for the afternoon. The website states that they are open on the last Sunday of the month at 11:30 am. Yet at 12:30 we stood in front of a closed door with a group of 19 people, even though we had a reservation for a bachelor party. There were clearly employees present, but no one bothered to open the door or speak to us. Only after repeated knocking and calling was there a response, but the person on the phone was extremely unfriendly, incomprehensible and even rude. This conversation was so unpleasant that I eventually hung up. When we were finally allowed in at 1:00 PM, we were not warmly welcomed – no apologies, no explanations. We were assigned a long table, but the space was so tight that we could barely move; it felt like we were packed in like sardines. In addition, we had reserved a high chai, but a week before our reservation we were told by email that this was no longer offered - even though it was still listed on their website. As an alternative, we were allowed to use the buffet with unlimited chai. Unfortunately, the food was bland and every refill of the chai tasted different. The worst part was that when someone in our group ordered a soft drink, it was only provided after he had paid first. All in all a very disappointing experience on all fronts
