Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant in Wijk 28 Centrum

We went here for dinner today. I made a reservation in advance because my girlfriend had been here before and had heard good things about it. That made me very curious. What stands out is that the staff are very respectful, polite, and customer-friendly. The food was delicious. Compared to many other Indian restaurants, the dishes here aren't overly spiced, so you can really taste the flavors. It's a small and cozy restaurant, so it's not too crowded—which is very nice. We will definitely be back. It's a lovely restaurant with lots of choices. If you like curries, you'll be in the right place. I'm half-Asian and very picky, but this is the first Indian restaurant that actually scores a 10.

Enjoyed several dishes yesterday. Especially the lamb dishes were very tasty. Starters too. Choice of spicy or slightly less. For the 2nd time eaten and will come back again.

I had made a reservation, but there was a sudden death of a loved one (2 hours before the reservation). I then canceled but apparently that didn't go well. I get called twice in 5 minutes and then someone yells at me on the phone. I indicated that I had canceled but that this probably did not go well (due to the circumstances). The man on the phone threatened that I had to pay money, while I didn't even pay a deposit. I understand that I should have canceled, but shouting at guests on the phone is super antisocial and unfriendly. So I will never go here again.

Food was not good. They serve us old making food which is already gone and food smells are bed. And price is high compared to food quantity

This is one the best Indian Restaurants in the area. Truly authentic Indian as well as Pakistani taste. The Chicken Bhuna was perfectly spicy as it should be. The plain and garlic naan are soft. Good cosy atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. Definitely recommended if you are craving proper South Asian food.

Am now in Drenthe in a good Indian restaurant, but realize that a few weeks ago I ate again at Taj Mahal in The Hague and it was so excellent that I intended to write a review and unfortunately forgot. This restaurant would do well in the heart of London. This is how Indian food should be: perfect.

I ordered from Uber Eats, but the order never arrived. They didn’t even bother calling to inform me that the order wouldn’t be delivered. After waiting two hours, I decided to call them — and to my surprise, an Indian guy answered the phone only to tell me that it wasn’t the Taj Mahal restaurant!!!!!! 😅🤣 I heard that they had the spiciest vindaloo in town, which is why I wanted to try this restaurant. However, I now know for sure that they have the worst service I have ever experienced. Failing to inform the customer that their order will never arrive is incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Really fantastic food, everything super tasty and freshly seasoned. Run by a very friendly and sweet couple. They lovingly explained everything about the dishes and came back afterwards for an extensive chat. Definitely try the Chicken Marco Polo ;( We will be back!

Been here, probably the worst service I have gotten in an Indian restaurant in Europe. I have traveled enough in Europe, being living here for many years now. I would rather recommend going to Krishna Vilas restaurant which is very close by to this restaurant. Personally, I can't enjoy the food if the service is not good. If I come back Den Haag again next time, I know where not to dine-in. Definitely not taking my friends and family there.

I love these little simple Indian restaurants. The menu is varied, the food comes quite quickly and tastes really good! 👍 I would like it to be very, very spicy, and this wish was more than fulfilled 😂🥵 I'd love to come back 🙂

Mediocre and weak Indian taste. It's more like a fusion-like mix of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and something else. It doesn't even remotely resemble Indian food.

Zeer slecht, onbeschofte behandeling, en dwingend aansturend op contante betaling? Pinnen was absoluut niet mogelijk? Storing was het smoesje. Ik moest maar gaan pinnen! Het eten, de bediening, de hygiëne, de service allemaal niks. Doe er uw voordeel mee. Aan voorbijgaan, zoals ik al vaker las achteraf.. jammer zonde van mijn dure geld!!

Have eaten here many times. The food is delicious and tasty. Service is top notch. We always ask politely whether everything is satisfactory. They also take into account if you want your dish to be a little less spicy. Furthermore, the tables are always neatly clean and the food is also neatly served by the friendly staff. Were from Ierland, and are used to eat good indian dishes, this restaurant doesn’t serve indian food. I don’t know how to call it but it’s not indian. No manners, an uneducated, way of asking for cash and vague handwritten bills??? Obsolete, old 80’s way of doing buss.

Delicious food in this restaurant located in a cozy side street of the Denneweg. Very nice and good service. There was a lot of food left and we were able to take it home with us.

It's terrible! First of all, there were hairs everywhere in the food. In addition, the plates were visibly dirty, no hygiene there at all. The service was rude. To make matters worse, we ended up receiving a vaguely handwritten receipt with no date. This restaurant is highly recommended. Very antisocial.

Het is vreselijk! Allereerst zaten overal haren in het eten. Daarnaast waren de borden zichtbaar vies, totaal geen hygiëne daar . De bediening was onbeschoft. Tot overmaat van ramp kregen we uiteindelijk een handgeschreven bon zonder datum. Dit restaurant is echt een afrader. Heel asociaal.

I was here over the weekend but it was disappointing. 1. Service was very poor, the waiter did not know what to recommend, there was hair in the rice and on the table cloth. 2. Food was not only expensive but also not tasty. Everything had a strong but not special taste. It was impossible to swallow. 3. The portion wasn't big either, for 30 euros per person I couldn't eat much, let alone enjoy it

The restaurant is a bit hidden and inconspicuous, but we found it and were immediately warmly welcomed with our group of 7. The service and ordering was super friendly and uncomplicated! The restaurant is certainly not super new inside, but the food and the evening were simply great and the price/performance was also right. Gladly again!

Just had a delicious meal at Taj Mahal. Good quality naan, fresh meat and the tandoori chicken was delicious. Tasty curries with enough meat. The Indian tea (chai) was delicious with fresh herbs! Service is top notch and the staff is very hospitable and pleasant. We will definitely come back here! NB! Someone in the reviews writes negative 1 star reviews about this restaurant and threatens the staff every time. Report this review if you see it because it is lies and threats that are not true!

I was here a few weeks ago and I must honestly admit that I have never eaten such delicious butter chicken and spinach!

Warning for tourists and anyone who wants to eat here. As a good customer who has spent a lot in every area, I have had very bad experiences with this restaurant. Don't rely on the good experiences in the reviews. Someone pointed out these two reviews to me where the owner responded very strongly to his own review. It concerns exactly the same text and story, from someone of different gender??? The reviews are chronogic also months apart! Here is a task for Google to intervene because the owner manipulates the ratings to mislead customers and tourists! There are real reviews where customers have even been physically attacked! You also get very bad bills without a date or they force you to pay in cash, if necessary by force! these are all signals of tax evasion! I have reported this to the tax authorities! You are also billed for thing you never had. Once confronted with it the owner will lie, because that is what he is best at. Never go to this place is my advice to any normal thinking intelligent person. Close this place down please because This restaurant also has a few mice running around. I have seen them myself. The truth is not something they want to hear once confronted with it. Please sew me for slander and libel, we will speak to one onother in court. The facts are partly presented by these photo’s. Which contain meta and exif data. I am IT expert myself, not only developed software but also know how to ise it.

Best Indian food in Netherlands. If you are searching for authentic Indian food then this is your stop. We ordered Tandoori , Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Biryani, Salads, Kulfi. Each and every item was lip smacking good. Its located in Den Haag . The next best thing is their hospitality. Each and everyone tries their best to make you feel at home. I would specially mention Rana Bhaiya. He was like a cherry on the top. His behaviour and hospitality is impeccable. Whenever we crave for Indian food this is where we would visit everytime.

Indian here, The food was decent, prices were on the higher side, but the staff behavior was really weird, fishy and rude right from the begining. It felt like they werent happy to be in that job or to see other indians. Like some of the other reviewers, I cant put a finger on it. 1. Most indian restaurants have a warm and welcoming character s guests are treated with respect, irrespective of their origin. This was not the case, for us. 2. It felt like the waiter judged our choice as we werent too hungry and he wasnt going to make a lot of profit. Not everyone goes to Indian restaurant to have 'exotic' cuisine, some people just want to eat and have a quick bite, especially when touristing. My opinion, the owner should train the waiters to be a bit more polite and welcoming. If there is a minimum order policy, please be upfront instead of reacting with rude behavior.

Naan were too dry, cheese naan had no taste, the chicken korma was too sweet, we didn’t receive any papadum at the beginning. I won’t go back, once is more than enough and way too expensive regarding the quality of the food and the atmosphere (the restaurant should be completely refurbished)

Gisteravond weer eens bij de Taj Mahal gedineerd. De kwaliteit van het eten is en blijft uitstekend! We komen al vele jaren bij dit restaurant en de gerechten zijn allen werkelijk een niet te missen smaaksensatie. De service was er zoals gewoonlijk aangenaam en buitengewoon vriendelijk. Een gevarieerde keuzemenu waaruit je genoeg kan kiezen. Dit restaurant is t.o.v. van andere bezochte Indiase restaurants in Den Haag toch echt één van de betere.

Het eten is boven verwachting goed en lekker. Alles wel aan de pittige kant maar dat kan hier geen verrassing zijn. Vriendelijke en snelle bediening. Iets meer initiatief of je nog iets wilt drinken zou fijn zijn. Kortom, heerlijk gegeten en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Geen idee wat het kostte want ik was er op uitnodiging.

Recently, we visited the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant. Food was really tasty as real Indian food tastes. The price is okay for real Indian food. We were also pleased with the customers friendly behaviour. From our side, we can highly recommend going there especially for the taste Indian food.
