Nice restaurant and friendly service, good food. But seriously: does the waitress *have* to stand next to your table in a crop top with her stomach exposed? That belongs in a nightclub or pub, not in a family restaurant. In response to the comment from De Houttuinen, which turns my review into an 'old-fashioned reaction' and criticizes employees: being completely yourself is different from observing any decorum in a public place. If only out of self-respect. I am not criticizing the employee with this, but rather addressing the responsible manager regarding normal manners in a restaurant. Calling that old-fashioned is what is old-fashioned! Indeed, not my place to be.

My first visit to this highly acclaimed establishment was immediately a successful, flavorful, and therefore extremely positive experience. Hospitality and Expertise deserve to be written in capital letters here—quite rightly so. The menu and drinks selection are excellent. Highly recommended!

A very nice location when the weather is good, which was the case. At the back of the building is a walled garden where you can relax. Also interesting if you have children. We were only there for a drink, but the lunch menu looked promising as well. Clean toilets, friendly staff.

Delicious, unpretentious food. Portions are generous and honestly prepared. The dessert was also delicious. We had a lovely evening in an almost homey atmosphere. What I appreciated was a quiet, small restaurant where you can have a good conversation. No music or noise in the background. Not completely stimulus-free, but certainly manageable. Highly recommended!

We were here for the first time today. The ambiance is very nice, the prices are reasonable, and the apple pie was truly delicious. The loaded fries had a little too little sauce, so they ended up being a bit too dry to eat. The play area for children provides relaxation for parents, and the service was excellent. We'd be happy to come back. I just didn't understand why there were so many different menus lying around. The concept wasn't clear, and since I don't speak Dutch, I didn't ask.

Recommended by a travel guide (book). Great ambiance; you can sit in the garden behind this magnificent old building. The seats are generously spaced, not too close together. Shade is available. The restaurant was very busy. We waited a bit in the garden and managed to find a free spot for the three of us. Many seats were reserved. The food came very quickly after ordering. There was a delicious bowl, a chicken burger with fries, and a children's meal. Decent portions and tasty, too. The busy schedule was noticeable; the waiters were friendly and reasonably attentive despite the busy schedule. Highly recommended and a great starting point for exploring the city or taking a canal cruise.

The food was incredibly delicious, a bit pricey, but you get a good portion. The back garden has comfortable seating and a fantastic view. Definitely recommended for sunny weather.

It's a real shame there aren't any restaurant staff working here, not the two young ladies. But the older, somewhat plump lady certainly isn't. I certainly want to be respectful, but the way this woman is acting is, to say the least, distasteful. The fact that there's no dress code is actually nice, but there are real limits! And if they had been incredibly hospitable, friendly, and service-oriented, it might have been okay! A smile really is free. We had the nanchos, so we can't say much about the quality of the food.

Had a great meal on Friday night, friendly service, also great fun with kids. Even in the evening you can still sit in the sun and you can choose to eat at a table or in a lounge chair. The menu was different from other places with many Vega options. All in all a hidden gem!

After a car ride of an hour and a half, you feel like having a cup of coffee or tea. If something tasty can also be served, our visit to Middelburg will start well. And certainly in this ambiance. Coffee and tea were fine. The apple pie would come from a good local bakery. The whipped cream already lost its firmness during the journey to us. Probably skimped on quality here. Shame. The terrace will simply look cozy in the summer. The service is friendly. Toilets were clean. It was pleasantly busy inside. The kitchen extraction left much to be desired. Fortunately, it could only be smelled on the way to the terrace. It can scare you. Whether we return there again, I don't expect so.

Okonomiyaki, de naam zei mij niet zo heel veel, maar wat een smaken die bij elkaar komen….héérlijk 😋 En dan een eendenbout als hoofdgerecht…..wauw….zalig met die rode portsaus, lekkere puree en lekkere frietjes ☺️ Zéker aan te bevelen, fijn personeel en een geweldige ambiance 😍 Top !!

We feel very comfortable and can only say that we will eat again. Larger selection only at lunchtime. Solid dishes in the evening. The lunch menu is small, but fresh, tasty and light. Baguette and tomato soup highly recommended

What a beautiful lunch shop. We arrived quite overheated and were able to cool off completely in the beautiful, quiet, green surroundings. The children enjoyed the pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries and we had a snack board with some Turkish bread and that was delicious.

After a day in the city, this is a wonderful place to relax and let your child play for a while! Good food and drinks, good service! Top location!

Mooie plek. Na een wandeling door de stad, neergestreken in de houttuin. Gezellige plek. Ook geschikt voor gezinnen met jonge kinderen. Vriendelijke bediening. Menukaart is klein, je kunt uit verschillende gerechtjes een keuze maken. Vooral de borrelplank blijkt favoriet. Wij kozen voor koffie/ biertje met een cruffin.

Such a nice place! I didn't think so, but when we entered we were surprised by the child-friendly menu, nice high chairs and changing room. Everything has been thought of, from colored pencils to a super cozy play and reading corner. Highly recommended for both dad/mom and kids.

What a nice place to eat! The pointed cabbage pancakes (we call them Okonomiyaki) were really tasty. The one with pork belly is highly recommended. The Pokébowl was also great! We are very happy that we found such a gem of the catering industry during our holiday!

Restaurant accueillant, family friendly, avec coin jeu pour les petits. Idéal pour y passer un peu de temps, pour manger lorsqu'il fait pluvieux, ce qui arrive souvent en Automne en Zélande. Situé dans un tout vieux bâtiment historique, avec des poutres en bois dignes d'une époque bien éloignée, la rénovation est superbe. Les plats proposés sont équilibrés, très bons, c'est de la qualité, avec prix en conséquence. Il y a un chouette jardin dehoirs, pour les enfants lorsque le soleil est là. Un très chouette endroit à Middelburg, où je retournerai. J'ai dégusté les Poke Bowls, excellent.

We had a delicious lunch here during our visit to Middelburg. They have a nice menu with surprising dishes. Also many vegetarian options which we really liked. The atmosphere is pleasant. Truly a hidden gem in beautiful Middelburg!

Garden created a 10 for atmosphere and clean hippie content and cozy corners. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no operation or option for use, although they attract people with a garden open sign at the front of the street. Definitely hipster cool inside, a bit soft.

The building itself cannot be visited directly. Does have a restaurant with a garden. Location is quieter than the busy terraces in the city center. Reachable from the city center in a few minutes.

Beautiful restaurant located in the center of Middelburg. The building is imposing and behind it there is a beautiful terrace with a garden. Various seating options and a sand area with toys are available. The toilets are very clean and modern. The apple pie was more expensive than in the surrounding area, but absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and quick. My absolute recommendation is a break away from the hustle and bustle.

Good coffee with a nice fresh cookie. Had an excellent lunch here with pointed cabbage pancake with avocado and goat cheese. Service was a bit chaotic. And girls who were serving wore shorts. You could barely distinguish them from the incoming tourists. We had to wait a long time until someone came to take lunch. The terrace in the backyard is a very atmospheric, idyllic place.
