Cozy, laid-back neighborhood spot with Dutch dishes, great for a bite and a beer. The food was good, vibe was great, and service by Emma and the gang was top-tier. When we sat down, the place was swarmed by four other couples, two families, and a large group all at once. Absolutely packed. Emma made the Saturday night rush look easy handling all the questions, suggestions, orders, and corrections with so much grace and professionalism. Friendly, bubbly attitude the entire time. Food came out quick and we felt super taken care of 🩷

Had several meals here as I stayed at the Renaissance Amsterdam. As good as it gets. Stoofvlees and the pie was amazing. The burger was good too (no pics as it was gobbled up rather quick!)

Sara recommended local specialties to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Plenty of food, very good, in a cozy atmosphere.

I visited Koepelcafé yesterday and had an amazing experience. I was welcomed by Emma, a really friendly girl. Then I had the pleasure of being served by Anne, an amazing Dutch girl. The girls made my visit a real pleasure.

Delicious food yet the staff not so delicious. When we were seated, it took the staff a while to take our order then the food took a very long time to arrive, next, the staff took a while to bring our bill when we asked for it and lastly, we asked for some tap water, we never recieved it until we came up to the bar. We were the only people seated indoors and during the time we went, it was very quiet. It's disappointing that despite the restaurant being quiet the staff took so little interest in me and my friend. The service was very slow. It sad as the food is very lovely. I wouldn't come again.

The food was really nice and it was good to try a traditional Dutch a dish. However, the service really let it down. They took ages between each interaction (e.g sitting down, ordering, serving food and drinks, collecting plates and giving the bill). They also forgot our water so we had to go to the counter to ask for it. The staff were friendly but kept walking in and out of the room without serving us.

A very cute café with a delicious selection of hot and cold dishes. The appetizer selection was especially great. Csaba, the server, did a fantastic job; she was very attentive and polite. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Amsterdam.

I don't think I've ever had such good service at a business of this caliber in the heart of Amsterdam. It's great that it's still possible. Lars, we'll be back just for you!

Service was good...but the club sandwich was bad, the lettuce was brown and warm on the bread...it used to be good...it has really gone downhill...the club sandwich was without fries, you are supposed to serve it with fries or chips...service was good though...it wasn't tasty.worst club sandwich I have ever eaten...I didn't look appetizing either

While staying at the adjoining hotel I stopped in for a couple of drinks. Really great place with great service. Emma served me and she was delightful. Lorenzo, the bar tender, made my drinks exactly as I like them. Very nice experience and I'll definitely be back!

Friendly staff at this restaurant with a pleasant decor. The food is good, with plenty of Dutch specialties. The Gouda burger is good, and the mushroom sandwich is delicious. Just the service was a little slow.

The service from our waiter Csaba was amazing! He was attentive yet didn’t bother us. The tapas were great. The wine was awesome. Highly recommend if you’re needing a quick bite or a place to kill time.

Huge thanks to Angelo at Koepelcafe! I was in a difficult situation with a dead phone battery, and he kindly let me charge my phone without hesitation. On top of that, he was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and gave great service the whole time. Small acts like that really make a difference when you’re traveling or in need. Koepelcafe is lucky to have someone like Angelo working there, highly recommended!

The prices are quite high, even by Amsterdam standards. I'm surprised a 32-euro steak is served without a side dish. A few bare lettuce leaves aren't even dressed and can't even be called a salad.

We had a drink at this lovely little bistro the first day we arrived in Amsterdam. It was busy but they were happy to let us sit down and have a lovely glass of wine. We returned for dinner on our last evening and the food and service were excellent . Highly recommend this lovely spot and shout out to Emma and Lorenzo for such good service . Right next to the Amsterdam Renaissance and close to the train station. 👍👍

Had a disappointing meal at Koepelcafé. The club sandwich was okay, but the meatballs satay was really inadequate. A few standard small meatballs with very little satay sauce on a bad bun. Plus point: we sat outside on the terrace in the sun.

Had such a cozy and memorable evening at Cafe koepel — this place just gets it right. We started with the bitterballen, and wow… perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful inside, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The sandwiches were hearty and fresh (that stacked, toasted goodness 🤌), and the soup was pure comfort in a bowl — especially with that bread on the side. The hot alcoholic drink was exactly what we needed on a cold Amsterdam night — warm, rich, and honestly a mood by itself. Big shoutout to Gus, Alejandro, and Emma for the super friendly and attentive service. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambience is cozy with great seating, soft lighting, and that relaxed vibe that makes you want to sit, chat, and stay longer than planned. Great food, great people, great vibes — would absolutely come back

We had a lovely lunch today Sara and Gijshe couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The food was fantastic and really hit the spot! We loved everything about the place and are heading back tonight for a few of Lorenzo’s cocktails.

We stopped in for dinner last night and were served some delicious food. My husband got the Stamppot (grilled sausage & mash) and I got the Stoofvlees (Beef stew & Fries). We finished off with some delicious little Dutch pancakes and what my husband described as “one of the best apple tarts he ever tasted.” The wait staff: Emma, Gus, and Lorenzo were just lovely! We were seated right away, staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. We recommend stop in for a meal if you get the chance.

A lovely time spent with the family. The service was very friendly; the waiters tried to speak a little French, which was very kind as our English wasn't great. We ordered sharing platters to discover local specialties. They were very good. If there's one slight drawback, it's the desserts, which we found good but not amazing. In any case, a great place to eat.

I was here in Amsterdam with my family and some friends, a total of ten people. We found this little place by chance. It's not huge, but they worked wonders to fit all ten of us in, and we ended up being comfortable (my only advice is to book). We ate well, which is very difficult for an Italian abroad. The credit, I must give, goes to the man who served us and guided us through our choices both on the first night and on the second day we returned: Angelo. As a true compatriot, he recommended the dishes and beers that best suited our needs, and on both nights we were truly satisfied with both the food and the excellent service. So, a sincere thank you to all the staff at Koepelcafé, but above all...thank you, Angelo.

We sat on the terrace in the sunshine. The staff did not speak Dutch. We ordered a cappuccino and a flat white. During serving, it was unclear what the cappuccino was… so I don't know what I drank… the waitress apologized but made no effort to correct the mistake…

I cannot recommend this restaurant due to extremely poor service. I went there expecting Dutch cuisine, but despite having three staff members, they were unable to keep up. They didn't even write down our orders, so the food didn't arrive properly. The staff were incompetent and had bad attitudes. The beer was also terrible, lacking any carbonation—a first for me. Very disappointing experience. The food was average, but the service was terrible from start to finish. We ordered three dishes and only two arrived at first, which was frustrating and showed how poorly things were handled. The beer was also flat and tasted like it had lost all its carbonation. At the end, someone who seemed to be the manager came over to apologize, but the bigger problem is clearly the staff. They seemed poorly trained, inattentive, and unprofessional throughout the entire experience. Don't waste your time here. There are many better places nearby.

My family and I stopped here to escape the cold. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and tidy. We had hot chocolate and pancakes, which were excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Angelo, who greeted us with a smile and professionalism. We'll be back soon, highly recommended!

Great experience! I had a truly delicious fondue and some traditional bitterballen meatballs, incredibly flavorful and well-made. The food overall was excellent quality; you could taste the care and attention put into the preparation.
