We had a choice between two main dishes, vegetarian or meat. We chose one of each and it did not disappoint. One of our best meals in Haarlem!

What a lovely restaurant! The service is friendly and fast, and the concept is truly unique. We didn't know what we were going to eat, but it certainly didn't disappoint. We enjoyed it immensely!

If 6 stars were possible, I would have given them! Kokkie Londo is a super cozy restaurant where you really feel and taste the Indonesian atmosphere! The friendly service makes it complete. It's nice that you don't have to stress about choosing, because there is simply one daily menu for a very reasonable price.

We ate here for the second time yesterday. First of all, it is very nice that there is just one set menu (with a vegetarian option), which saves a lot of decision-making stress. All four of us chose the chicken menu; various delicious small dishes, meat and vegetables well balanced, nothing overpowered anything, a delicious soup on the side and more than enough. Also delicious desserts, excellent wines, and homemade iced tea. And all of this in a very atmospheric setting with very friendly service and a reasonable price. We will definitely be back!

The food tastes great. It is somewhat adapted for a broad audience. We could choose between a fish or vegetarian menu. Each menu consists of various dishes and is served on one large plate. It was a generous portion, suitable for big eaters. The dessert of black rice porridge with coconut and ice cream is highly recommended. The ambiance is good and the Indonesian decor gives you a bit of an Oriental feel.

We hadn't made a reservation and arrived at 5:00 PM, at opening time. For the first time. Making a reservation is obviously smarter, but fortunately there was still room and we had a delicious meal. A pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. I find it an advantage that I am only presented with the choice of a meat or vegetarian menu (this is the concept). I am surprised with various dishes on one plate. An excellent explanation of what the dishes on the plate were. We enjoyed our meal. Top quality. We will definitely come back here, but next time we will reserve in advance! 👍🏻

Delicious food in a casual atmosphere. Attentive service.

The concept of this restaurant was difficult for me and my wife. And we didn’t feel welcomed frankly. I asked for a menu and was told we had two choices vegetarian or fish. There was no explanation of what we would be served in each choice. Then I asked what drink pairs with the food best such as beer or wine etc. I was told to drink what I want. When we got two plates one vegetarian and one fish, we didn’t know what we were eating. We like to know what we are eating for a lot of reasons including to learn. Someone explained, but we couldn’t understand him. It was a mashup of items on the plate. Some were good and others didn’t work for us. We paid and left with a bad taste in our mouth literally. We have eaten all around the world for a long time now. We eat mostly anything. I think this restaurant is arrogant and the people running it are rude blanks.

I’ve had my eye on this restaurant for ages; I love Indonesian food, so this one was still on my list in Haarlem. 34 degrees outside, but still... nice atmosphere inside; despite all the trinkets, it exudes a certain tranquility. Service, think Kokkie Londo himself... funny, friendly, nice. A daily special, let's say a "daily special," but I'm definitely underselling them by saying that. The food is delicious, a full plate; it was more than enough for me. Tasty food, varied, the whole of Indonesia on your plate. You can choose meat or vegetarian, or perhaps you want both. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommended. Do make a reservation; they charge €2.50 for the reservation, which I certainly don't think is unreasonable. You can also get takeout.

Amazing place and food. Very authentic food and everyday is always a new menu. They only serve one menu of the day, which is really good concept to ensure no food waste. The owners are amazingly generous and friendly, i definitely recommend this place!

I have never been treated so badly by someone who claimed to be the owner. Rude, a rude boor... when I asked for another table for 3, I got a sharp retort immediately... that is your table and otherwise just leave. Still, as a connoisseur of Indonesian cuisine and culture, I tried the food... Unfortunately, the fun was completely ruined. My advice: stay away and get your food at "Bij Toko Nina, Koningstraat"

Highly recommended. Delicious food, dead simple concept, and that’s exactly what makes it so nice. A generously filled plate with, in our case, delicious, wholesome vegan recipes. Friendly, efficient service and great value for money.

The service is quite blunt and abrupt. The tables and chairs are reminiscent of a parents' evening in primary school. The food itself is fine, but there is little room for personal preferences.

The owner/chef comes to your table to explain the dishes. Dessert is a choice of three different dishes. Enjoy a delicious Javanese meal for a very reasonable price.

This is your go-to place for an unique dinner experience!! I really loved all the indonesian decorations in the restaurant. Even the waiters come dressed in indonesian clothing. When you enter you almost get sucked into this new and exiting fantasy world. They only have two simple menu options (veg)/(non veg). I got the one with fish. I loved (almost all) of the dishes. They were really flavorfull and a good combination of a little bit of everything. I personally am not a fan of octopus rings with their squiggly texture, but I guess if you do like them they were well prepared. The dessert were maybe my favorite part. I never had banana flavored 'spekkoek' before, and the pandan coconut cake was soo light fluffy and delicious.

It's like stepping into a fairytale world. Food is served (it's good!), affordable, cheerful, lovingly prepared, and delicious!

I wonder who owns this restaurant: the flamboyant gentleman posing as the chef, or the corpulent, short, elderly man? The latter waddles awkwardly and grumpily through the restaurant's narrow aisles, but is incredibly quick-witted when it comes to paying: He types in two amounts, with the message "you can choose your own"??? Huh???? He meant with or without a tip. It's bizarre that this gentleman himself indicates what the tip should be, and worse, reacts very rudely and inhospitably when you, of course, choose not to tip. (Business card payment) The young staff serving were good and correct, as was the food. Some dishes were too cold (satay), probably due to the way they were kept warm (serving method). But that also fits the price and the concept.

Chef Londo prepared a Javanese rice table for my mother's 87th birthday at our house. Absolutely fantastic! The decorations were beautiful and festive. The food was truly delicious and a huge success!

The chef was incredibly friendly and explained everything he had prepared. Unfortunately, the owner is rude and arrogant and doesn't belong in the hospitality industry. The waitress was also rude and, in my opinion, out of place. I won't be back.

On the recommendation of friends, we ate here on a Saturday night. We did make a reservation in advance. We had to pay a deposit of €2.50 per person. This was probably because people might not show up after booking. We're not from the area and parked our car at the Houtplein parking garage, a few minutes' walk from Kokkie Londo Londo. It's a small restaurant with cheerful decorations. The tables are a bit close together, but not intrusively. We received a friendly welcome from the owner. Despite several signs hanging around the restaurant saying, "Due to staff shortages, your order may take a little longer, thank you for your patience," we were helped quickly. The menu isn't very extensive; on Saturday night, we could choose between meat and vegetarian. We chose the meat option; you get a plate with all sorts of Javanese dishes. All delicious. And all for €17.50. Everyone gets the same portion. While the women at the table had more than enough to eat, the men could still eat a bit more. Perhaps it's an idea to offer separate portions for men and women? 😉 For dessert, I chose the Roti Kukus, with ice cream and whipped cream. It was also delicious. We sat for two hours, enjoyed a delicious meal, and had a very pleasant evening.

Delicious dishes, because it was Friday, they were fish dishes. It's located just outside the town center/shopping area (a 15-minute walk from the church). Definitely worth eating here. 👌👌👌☺️

Indonesian food is available at many restaurants, but Haarlem's Kokkie Londo on Wagenweg is a complete experience. Every day, you're served a fixed and very affordable menu, with all the specialties cheerfully presented on a single plate. Each dish boasts that typical Indonesian flavor. The cheerful Ipul and his (cooking) partner Raymond will never let you leave their charming eatery disappointed!

A cozy little restaurant with only a daily special (meat/fish or vegetarian). The staff is friendly, and the owner always seems to smile. The food is "Dutch" in terms of spiciness, but has a typically Javanese flavor (a bit sweet and quite a lot of coconut). Reservations are recommended. There's a €2.50 fee per person, which is understandable considering the concept and how busy it is. This fee will be deducted from your bill.

Next to Lachende Javaan, although in a different format, probably THE go-to Indonesian restaurant in Haarlem. Simple menu (two options only! And different every day), which helps a lot avoiding headaches, super friendly and talkative chef in extraordinary traditional clothing that will explain all you get on the plate. I was seated outside, hence looking forward to coming back during the colder months to enjoy the cozy interiors. Recommended!

We had a nice evening, the only disappointment was the host's reaction when it was indicated that the food was tasty but almost cold. The grumpy answer was: They are not potatoes. Very bad accessibility for disabled people. After entering you had to go down a flight of stairs (2 high steps) without any possibility to hold on to anything. We just left. After this the owner came out to say that he could help, but my wife did not feel safe.

Yesterday, it was our second time at Kokkie Londo. We love their concept - they have a menu that changes daily with a vegetarian option and a meat option. The portion is huge and the food is extremely delicious, you can tell that everything is made with a lot of care and love. 🧡 The owners are wonderful people who clearly put so much joy into what they do, and it really shows. The place feels warm and welcoming because of them and you can appreciate the details highlighting the vibrant Indonesian culture It’s also very affordable for the quality of food you get - they offer a nice selection of desserts(my favourite is the spekkoek), beers, and a variety of exotic teas. If you’re in Haarlem, I highly recommend trying this. It’s definitely worth a visit.

How nice is this? Delicious Javanese food at Kokkie Londo. A different menu every day; you can choose between vegetarian or non-vegetarian (fish on Friday) and you will receive a plate full of delicious dishes. Not only the price is very friendly, but the entire atmosphere in the restaurant, pleasant buzz and nice decor. Management pays close attention to you. We have been there a few times now, but you can also pick up. Reservations can be made via the website and are recommended; I haven't seen any empty seats yet (and I understand that).

Indonesian restaurant with flavors closer to what I remember from the archipelago. Loved the buffet option they offered us for our corporate dinner, with lots of great food and sambals. Their dessert was sweet and memorable too. Owner is joyful and welcoming which made for an overall great experience!

Finally a place that very close to Javanese spirit. This restaurant offers you the colourful dish of Indonesian foods. Indonesian dish is more than rendang and smoor (semur) and Kokkie Londo definitely delivers it. Portion is huge, every single thing is very thoughtfully prepared and freshly cooked. Went to Kokkie Londo for the first time by invitation. Very pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, but also by the pleasant atmosphere and nice service. Highly recommended.

We had the fish menu on Friday; the food was tasty, well-portioned, and felt like a home-cooked meal. The menu changes daily, but you only have two choices: either meat or vegetarian, which makes it easier to decide. The menu and flavors are also unlike typical Dutch-Indonesian restaurants, which I appreciate. The chef was friendly and can speak Indonesian, which is a plus for me. It's better to reserve in advance to dine in. One suggestion would be to put the cendol in the drinks menu rather than as a dessert, I personally enjoy it with my meal instead of after. I would love to come back some other time to try the other menu.

I have experienced Kokkie Londo as the ideal place to enjoy Eastern or Indonesian cuisine. Each specialized chef gives his or her own 'twist' to the composition, aroma and balance of the countless varied Indian dishes. In my opinion, Kokkie Londo has provided a lasting memory of their beautiful dishes. With my partly Indian roots, I can consider myself a connoisseur. Surprisingly good! I expected an over the top experience looking at pictures and walking in. Instead, we sat down to have a culinary experience based on home cooked flavours your mom would make (were you Javanese of course). No menu, means no choice besides vegetarian or meat. It's very freeing to just sit down and let yourself be treated to aN amazing meal. We almost decided not to go. Now, we will 100% come back multiple times. Thanks for a great evening!

Some places have this: a spot that you can't find anywhere else. This is where you want to be. The accessible meals are tasty and surprising. Add to this that you are in a nice setting and for a friendly price. I would like to join you again on my next visit to Haarlem.

A colorful place with equally colorful owners. The food is a choice between meat or vegetarian and then everyone gets the same plate of dishes. They are all equally tasty and fortunately not too spicy. It is a refreshing concept that has caught on well and rightly so. And importantly: not terribly expensive either!

Kokkie Londo guarantees a unique gastronomic experience. The changing daily menu and the ingenuity of the host or chef mean that you can be surprised with confidence. The choice of vegetarian or meat is clear, but that does not mean that table companions do not enjoy the same experience together. The food is full of complementary flavors and dishes. In addition, attention is paid to suitable alternatives in both menus without detracting from the 'dish of the day'. The explanation at the table and the chef's enthusiasm are contagious. All in all an experience and at a very reasonable price. 10/10!
