I ordered food for the first time today (via Thuiszorgd) from Toko Gembira, and the food was absolutely delicious! I loved it and will definitely be ordering from them again. The food is truly high-quality and delicious! Thank you so much! 😀

Food is very tasty and always fresh

The food was so hot it was inedible. The beef was also dry and tough.

Today for the first time and the food is a 10. So refined, so tasty. Unadapted and authentic. As an Indo I am very critical, but this is really very good.

In our opinion, Toko Gembira is the best in Haarlem. Super fresh food, with lots of good vegetable and meat dishes, great for lovers of good and healthy tasty food and for vegetarians. Very nice people too, great and personal service. We come there at least every week or have it delivered. Chapeau and 3 stars for the chefs!

Top shop! Delicious dishes - also for vegetarians (great tempeh) and very nice new owners. We have been coming to this store for a long time and now think it is even better than before.

Placed an order 18:30, tried calling around 20:00 after food didn’t show up despite the app updating etc as usual. Food didn’t show up. Additionally to this review, here is another experience. Foods is superb, best takeaway Indo food in Haarlem. Customer service/delivery makes the delicious food not worth it in the end. Ordered at least 6 times and not once has it arrived in the time frame. Always around 1-1.5 hours late which is quite simply unacceptable. The problem they have is that they leave the ordering system open on the likes of Thuisbezorgd/Uber and so on, and try to capture as many orders as possible then work towards them knowing full well that the order times will not be met. They then silence/shut off the telephone when you try to call them (tested this as I walked into the store with the phone ringing, but I could not hear their phone ringing in the store). The manager/owner has a real anger-management issue, he has no control over the emotions and will direct his anger to anyone nearby him. Yesterday, he raised a stapler to me threatening to kill me/cut me. It was honestly insane, called the police to deal with this guy as he was clearly unhinged by stress or something. Would avoid this place now, having been each week for 6 weeks, they now lose a valued customer who used to speak highly of their food to others and encouraged people to try their food, no more, they lost that opportunity by not respecting customer time & complaints in a professional manner and resorting to violence & hate speech (called me af*ggot for some strange reason). Avoid this at all costs, unless you are willing to wait 2-2.5hrs for your food. Oh and don't think that if you pre-order for a set-time, they will deliver on that, that was my experience last night knowing they are slow with delivering, I set the order time to later so that it would not be late, but made no difference.

Ordered a few times & delivery always takes more than an hour than it should do. Delivery drivers & staff in store were unhelpful & rude

I have ordered twice from Toko Gembira and both times it was fantastically delicious. Good price for a meal and it always makes me happy. The downside is that it took longer to deliver, but I will definitely order more often!

I think the reactions are rather exaggerated about how tasty it is. It was fine to eat if you are really hungry, but it was the least tasty Indonesian I know. I think the prices are good, so that's why I give it 3 stars. Service was good

They used to always have tasty fresh Indonesian snacks that you could get from the freezer in larger packages. The lempers here were fantastically tasty. Unfortunately they no longer have this, too bad! I'm still hoping for a return of the lempers :)

A really lovely shop where you can order really good food. I have ordered from here several times now and Toko Gembira really never disappoints. Sometimes I have to call to ask where my order is (usually on weekend days), but in the end your food is always delivered and it always tastes good! Keep it up!

Delicious food! Wide choice and also many vegan options! The owners are sweet, open-hearted and like to think along. Busy with renovations so the atmosphere is being worked on! You don't need that atmosphere for takeaway, of course, but it's fine for a quick lunch. And most importantly: the taste of the food is sublime, you can taste the freshness and love in the food. A really top store!

Delicious dishes from the store.

On April 14, Gembira provided catering for 20 people. Always on time, great service and, above all, delicious Indonesian dishes. In short, great!

Yesterday I got 2 rice tables and some extra loose dishes. Very good help and advice. Nice, nice people. And to top it all off, the best Indonesian thing I've ever eaten. Everything really has its own special taste. Many differences in taste. Delicious. I'll never go anywhere else again. It also appears that they deliver at an agreed time. Warm and ready to serve. See you soon.

Had a very extensive Christmas dinner prepared for 9 people. Delicious, diverse, lots of it, authentic and incredibly tasty. I was a little late in ordering, but this was no problem at all. Felixbel, customer-friendly, courteous and cooks like the best, Christmas Eve was a real Indian party! We will definitely come back in 2024!

Top toko! De daging smoor was echt heerlijk. We hadden een nasi rames speciaal genomen met 2 vlees en 3 groenten. Grote portie en erg lekker allemaal. Zeker een aanrader! Ook de service was erg vriendelijk en snel.

Timon heeft heerlijk gekookt! Toko Gembira in Haarlem kunnen wij aanbevelen. Wij hebben zojuist super lekker gegeten op de SEH in Haarlem. Super snelle en gezellige bezorging! Dit zou je ook eens moeten doen!

Het afgelopen weekend weer eens kunnen genieten van een heerlijke maaltijd! De keuze is reuze, het eten is authentiek, met passie gekookt én dat proef je! Nette en schone toko, beleefde medewerkers en een goede service gehad bij het afhalen van het eten.

Heerlijk gegeten! Het was veel, lekker en ruim optijd. Wij gingen voorheen altijd naar Terang Boelan maar stappen nu zeker over naar Gembira

Wij hebben heel wat toko's in Haarlem geprobeerd, ik vind dit veruit de beste! Vanavond hebben wij een heerlijke rijsttafel gegeten van toko Gembira! Bij aankomst zag het er al sfeervol uit, we werden vriendelijk geholpen, ik zou dit ook zeker aanraden voor feesten en partijen.

Super lekker eten, heel vriendelijk personeel! Allemaal lekkere snacks gehaald en daarna ook meteen een maaltijd meegenomen voor thuis!! Dikke aanrader!! Zeker de Indonesische afhaalspot van Haarlem!

Alles is lekker! Authentieke smaken! En genoeg keus! Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Het liefst zou ik hier elke dag willen afhalen! Verder is het heel fijn dat de straat eindelijk weer open is en dat de toko weer voor iedereen bereikbaar is. Dus hup allemaal snel naar de beste toko van Haarlem!! Of laat het lekker bezorgen!

Wat hebben wij genoten van de uitgebreide rijsttafel. Alles was heerlijk gekruid, heel vers en keurig verpakt. Het eten was met liefde bereid, dat was te proeven. We komen zeker terug!

Naar mijn idee de lekkerste toko van Haarlem, je proeft de liefde voor de keuken terug in de gerechten. Niet onbelangrijk: zeer betaalbaar.

Wat een top toko! Onwijs lekker gegeten en hele goede service! Vers, goede porties en de rendang vlees (specialiteit van de eigenaar) is een absolute aanrader. Wij komen zeker terug!

Toko Gembira in Haarlem is echt een aanrader als je van lekker Indonesisch eten houdt. Het eten is super lekker en je proeft dat er liefde in is gestopt. Als je van pittig houdt, zit je hier ook goed; de maaltijd was heerlijk pedis! Wat ook fijn is, is dat de locatie makkelijk aan te rijden is en je kunt gewoon voor de deur parkeren. Dus als je in de buurt bent, zou ik zeker even langs gaan. Je wordt er echt blij van!

Een aanrader. Super lekker, vers en gezond eten voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. Vanaf 3-9-23 zijn de wegwerkzaamheden klaar en is de zaak weer goed te bereiken.

Fantastisch lekker Indonesisch eten. Na de vorige eigenaar dacht ik dat het niet lekkerder kon, maar de nieuwe eigenaren hebben me weten te verbazen!

Ik als echte Hollander maar enorm fan van Indonesisch eten vind dit veruit de beste toko van Haarlem. Alles is goed op smaak , groente gerechten waren super lekker dus ook als je vegetarisch bent genoeg lekkers te bestellen . Pittig is lekker pittig , niet te gek maar ik raad wel aan om pittig met mild te combineren . Porties zijn royaal en goed verpakt , al met al heerlijk eten en een echte aanrader.

Onwijs lekker gegeten! Bij bezorging bleek de bestelling niet compleet, maar onze bestelling was niet goed doorgekomen bij UberEats (en hadden we zelf ook niet goed gecontroleerd). Het restaurant was inmiddels al dicht maar meneer aan de telefoon wilde ons toch graag helpen en heeft een heerlijk gerecht nagestuurd die er bizar genoeg al na een kwartier was. Topservice, hier bestellen we zeker nog een keer!

Heb hier vandaag voor het eerst gehaald. En het was heerlijk! We hebben genoten van alle dingen die we hadden gekozen. Vers en vol van smaak. Absoluut een aanrader om te bestellen of te halen.
