Nice family-run restaurant. I was on my own in Haarlem for a night, so it was perfect that it was a bit quiet and I could chat to the owners. I've only eaten Indonesian food a few times, so I'm no expert and I couldn't name what I had, but it was their vegetarian combo main meal, and it was delicious!

Spontaneously spent a day in Haarlem and stumbled upon this little place on the way back to the car. We had a delicious meal, drank some delicious cendol, had great flavor, great service, and the people were super friendly. We'll definitely be back. 👍🏼

The food was okay but too expensive for what you get, especially given it took an hour to be served. The owners are really nice though and make you feel welcome. Overall I had higher hopes and was a little disappointed.

Friendly mom and pop place. Very reasonable price. Excellent satay, I liked the spicy Rendang. Do order the Jasmine tea, it's excellent.. Very reasonable prices

This was my first time having Indonesian food. It was absolutely delicious. Besides the tasty food, what really stood out to me was how friendly the owners of the establishment were. Since I was unfamiliar with the cuisine, one of the owners was nice enough to go through the menu with me and gave me recommendations. He also gave me recommendations for things to see in the city since it was my first time in Haarlem. Thank you for such a warm welcome. I would definitely eat here again.

We spontaneously had dinner there and were very satisfied. The hosts were very friendly. The portions were sufficiently large. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty.

Very small place where 2 very nice people prepare really delicious Indonesian food. It is not really suitable for larger groups to eat there. But to eat Indonesian with a small group this is a great destination

Had a really great meal here yesterday! Had the surprise rice table, with many dishes. Tasty, especially the rendang was really tasty. But also the satay, gado-gado, beans, etc., etc. We will definitely return on our next visit to Haarlem. The staff/owners are very nice and spontaneous and enjoy a chat with you. Highly recommended. Make sure you reserve in advance, as there are limited places

Authentic Indonesian experience in Haarlem We visited “Resto Indo Rasa” Indonesian restaurant in Haarlem tonight and were completely impressed! We chose the surprise menu for two, and what a great choice that was. Every dish was a taste explosion, carefully composed with authentic Indonesian herbs and a loving presentation. From the first bite to the last piece we were continuously surprised by the diversity of flavors. The menu was perfectly balanced: from spicy and savory dishes to sweet and refreshing combinations. The portions were just right, and the service was friendly, attentive. And a real family restaurant! The ambiance of the restaurant adds an extra layer to that: warm, beautifully simple and as if you are in Indonesia for a while. This is an absolute must for anyone looking for an authentic culinary journey without leaving Haarlem. We will definitely come back here!

The couple who run this place are so very warm and inviting, delightful to be around. And the FOOD! Rice plate (Rames vegetarian special) was awesome, and the chicken satay was the best I’d ever had. Also: I am impressed by their air quality system. Even though guests are generally sitting in the kitchen, the cooking oils and spices somehow get swept upward without seeping into guests’ clothes or hair

Small portion size for the price. Rice table was disappointing compared to other places. Staff were really nice and friendly though.

Dit is duidelijk geen fastfood, maar Indonesische gerechten gemaakt van verse ingrediënten! Op kaart staat een vegan drie gangen menu met Loempia’s, Sajoer boontjes, Tempeh saté, Jackfruit en rijst. En heerljjke vegan spekkoek toe. Andere vegetarische gerechten kunnen ook vegan gemaakt worden. Super aardige eigenaresse en eigenaar. Knus restaurantje in het centrum van Haarlem.

I personally really enjoy family owned businesses. There is a type of warmth about them and a great atmosphere. We had the surprise rice table for two, where you eat what you are given, everything was amazing and delicious. Great flavours, lots of variety, good amount. You will not leave hungry. The owners were very sweet and took great care of us. We really enjoyed our visit and strongly recommend it to anyone who likes Indonesian cuisine.

Had dinner tonight, everything was delicious and friendly service. We think one comment that you have to pay 1.75 for a spoon of sambal goes too far, in the past we also paid for the prawn crackers. It is normal that you get sambal and prawn crackers with it.

The food was delicious, I can only recommend to anyone who is coming to Haarlem and is looking for Delicious Indonesian food!!! As A vegetarian I especially enjoyed the jack fruit as part of the bami goreng, it was amazing :)

Best Indonesian Food in the World - better than in Indonesia and I have been there many, many times. The owners are a lovely couple and they provide beautiful food and very friendly service. Do yourself a favor if you are in Haarlem and have a meal here. Try the Gado Gado, Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang and have the Banana Fritters for dessert - they melt in your mouth.

Best Indonesian in the world - yes the world - even better than in Indonesia where I have been many times. The satay (peanut) sauce (which is the foundations for many dishes) is superb. The Gado-Gado is the best we have ever had and the banana fritters for desert are to die for - literally melt in your mouth. The Beef Rendang is another one of their specialities. Hours after the meal the flavors are still dancing in my mouth. Located down a small alley, the restaurant only seats about 20 people. It is fully licensed and even sells "Bintang" beer. The owners are a lovely couple and have put their hearts into the restaurant.

We are from Amsterdam and spontaneously went to Haarlem and ended up spontaneously and pleasantly in this cozy restaurant. We are quite critical of Indonesian food, because we know the flavors well because of our origins! We can only say that the food was super tasty, we sat there for three hours because the staff were so sweet and friendly. We will definitely come back with a larger group. We made a reservation last night and had Rijsttafel, freshly cooked and delicious, especially the spicy sambal! hmm. super friendly owners! it is a small restaurant with a mini kitchen, when it is busy you cannot expect ala minutes! reserve patiently or in advance and communicate the desired menu. really recommend!

Tasty, lovely, small, friendly!

We waited for an hour and when asked we were told "well we're busy". Then the wrong food came, which we ate anyway because we were very hungry by now and didn't want to wait another hour. The food was ok but not enough for the price. We ended up having to chase the staff to pay. Not recommended!

This was one of the best meals I had while visiting Europe. My friend and I shared the surprise rice platter, and everything they brought was delicious and wide in variety. The owners were also extremely friendly. They chatted with us about our trip and even gave recommendations on things to go see. Definitely stop here for dinner if you're able. I'd go all the time if I lived nearby.

Friendly service, really enjoyed chatting with the owners. Good value and great food too. We'd definitely return. Only improvements would be, the Satay tasted as if it had been reheated rather than cooked fresh and a selection of craft beers would be good!

With a group of five, we ate a rice table with various delicacies. The sambal that you can ask for separately was really delicious. Lovely people, authentic food. Recommended if you like some spice!

Amazing food and really cool owners.

The meal was delicious! We ate Rames Vegetarian and Rames Meat. Everything was very well seasoned and fresh in taste. We also drank fresh jasmine tea, something we had never heard of before. Indonesian cuisine has definitely won us over. We also remember the extremely hospitable owner couple, with whom we had a wonderful chat. Als ik een rijsttafel bestel dan wil ik een beetje verwend worden. Wat ik at was lekker, maar het was een beetje mager. Twee soorten vlees, wat garnalen, beetje rijst en beetje bami, sperzieboontjes en saté. En nog wat salade. Nogmaals: wat ik at was lekker, maar waarom niet een klein beetje kroepoek terwijl je wacht op de rijsttafel ( duurde tenslotte ruim drie kwartier), wat kleine gerechtjes als sambal, banaan, pindas, eitjes in sambal. Iets minder sober.

A bit disappointed, vegetarian bami rames wasn't much, it was okay, but way too pricey for the quality. Very friendly owners. Perhaps the meat dishes are worth it.

Small cozy restaurant in the center of Haarlem. The food was delicious. Rendang was super tender! We had to wait a little longer for the food, but that wasn't a problem. The owners were very sweet, especially the lady who came to chat with us. To be repeated.

We hebben de Indonesische tafel van de chef genomen. Het was heerlijk, loempia’s vooraf. Daarna uitgebreide rijsttafel met heerlijke kipsate, gado gado, rendang, garnalen, curry kippenpoot en nog veel meer. Lekkere sambal erbij, helemaal goed. En je zit alsof je in hun huiskamer zit. Heel leuk.

It's a good place, no doubt about it. If you find yourself here, you'll enjoy it. The food is pretty simple and the plate size is quite small. I went the other night to "De lachende javaans" and it was better in every aspect: atmosphere, service, food quality and plate size - related to the price (which is more or less the same as there). But this place is fine too. You have also two (smallish) tables outside, if the weather permits.

너무 맛있어요. 인도네시아 음식점은 처음 방문했는데 아기자기한 분위기와 친절한 분들이 마음을 편안하게 해줘요. 무엇보다 제일 중요한 맛!!!!!!!!!!! 너무 맛있어서 말그대로 흡입했고 음식 맛보고 인도네시아 여행까지 계획하게 됐어요. 정말 맛있어서 지금 한국에 돌아와서도 인도네시아 음식점 찾아보고 있어요. 잊지못할 맛임. 이거 먹으러 다시 가고 싶을 정도면 말 다 함. 하를렘 방문하면 꼭 드세요. 맥주 추천 감사했습니다.

Also man muss sagen, dass die Portion für den geforderten Preis definitiv zu klein waren bzw. die Preise für die Portionen einfach zu hoch. Wir haben draußen an einem sehr wackligen Tisch gesessen. Zudem muss man sagen, dass es dafür, dass der Laden leer war schon lange gedauert hat bis das Essen fertig war. Geschmacklich war es gut aber auch nicht umwerfend. Wir können dieses Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen.

Al veel Indonesische restaurants bezocht, maar deze staat echt in mijn top 3. Zeer vriendelijke service, heerlijk eten, betaalbaar.

Ontzettend gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel, en de eigenaren. Wat een prachtige ervaring! We komen zeker terug!

Cute place with friendly owners & the dinner was one of the better ones we had while in the Netherlands.

Wir hatten uns als Gruppe von 10 Personen angekündigt. Es war dann sehr eng. Das Inventar wirkte alt. Auf der Herrentoilette war das Pissoir defekt, entsprechend sah die Toilette aus... Auf das Essen haben wir über 1 Stunde gewartet. Die Portionen waren dann für die aufgerufenen Preise definitiv zu klein. Geschmeckt hat es ganz gut, aber auch nicht besonders. Alles in allem leider keine Empfehlung zum Ausprobieren.

Bonne cuisine indonésienne. Layer-cake délicieux au dessert. Accueil très chaleureux. Une seule réserve : une surfacturation pour les clients réglant en visa ou en Mastercard (2€), en prétendant que c’était une pratique généralisée aux PaysBas, ce qui s’est révélé absolument inexact. Bref, une tentative maladroite pour nous faire payer en espèce.

Lovely staff, cosy place, very central. Quite a long wait for the food (one hour), and the food wasn’t as high quality as expected for the price. The google star awarded (4.6) seemed a bit inflated.

Seven of us ate here on a cold rainy night in mod December. The owners were very friendly and patient with our orders. The food was delicious and everyone was happy with it. Would definitely go there again.

Wat een heerlijke avond hebben wij hier gehad! En ook nog eens op 1e Kerstdag. We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen. We hadden een zeer smakelijk kerstmenu met een rijsttafel. Erg lekker, vers bereid en authentiek. Ook nog gezellig een praatje gemaakt. Voor ons een zeer geslaagde avond, dank jullie wel!

Wij hebben 1e kerstdag heerlijk gegeten in een fantastisch knus restaurant gegeten met overheerlijke rijstafel , een aanrader !!!

Op 17 december 2022, tijdens mijn laatste week NL, hier neergestreken voor een heerlijk Indonesisch diner. De keukenbrigade en gastheer zijn bijzonder amicaal en gastvrij. De nasi rames speciaal was bijzonder smakelijk en met een afsluiter als koffie met sambuca kan er natuurlijk ook weinig misgaan. Een aanrader voor de Bourgondiër om relaxt een avond door te komen in uitstekend gezelschap. Waar wel rekening mee moet worden gehouden is de bijtelling van 2,45 euro voor extra pinnen. Wat ik persoonlijk dan weer niet logisch vindt want de rekening is op normale wijze met de pin betaald. Zoveel extra kan er dan toch niet zijn?

Kleine knus restaurant .heel gezellig and vriendelijke eigenaar. Ze heeft voor ons lekker gekookt..Heerlijk gegeten niet zo zout and niet te vet. Huis wijn ook lekker.Tot de volgende keer

A must try when in Haarlem! Tucked in a cute little street you will find excellent cuisine and a welcoming staff! We got the vegetarian special rice and everything was delicious! The owners were a joy to talk with as well. We will definitely be back next time we visit!

Een klein restaurant in de paarlaarsteeg, kom je binnen wordt je warm gegroet, de hoofdgerecht watertanden. De garnalen in een lekker sausje de loempia's ook lekker. Hier gaan we zeker vaker. Een Aanrader!!! Het sfeer is zo warm alsof je op visite komt bij vrienden je voel je gelijk thuis. En het is nog betaalbaar.

Leuk klein intiem restaurant. Zeer vriendelijke befoening. De verrassingsrijsttafel met vlees was heerlijk. Goede toevoeging voor ons centrum. Wij gaan zeker terugkomen.

Great taste a personal approach

Mooie zaak ziet er fris uit. Porties mogen wel alleen iets groter en wat warmer . Saté was top . En de gele rijst is super lekker. 💪

Lekker gegeten. Top bediening. Gezellig en leuke eigenaren. Goeie service met vervanging van rundvlees. Lekkere sambal en rendang. Prijs en kwaliteit top. Mocht we weer in de buurt zijn, dan ga we zeker weer bij Resto Indo Rasa eten.
