Toko Nina in Oude Stad

I actually like the store, it has lots of Asian foods products that I need. The food was okay, I had different experiences the first time I’ve been there and the last time. I think it was better before. Maybe because recently I tried different menu. The last time I came, they were very busy in the kitchen. I was waiting a bit at the cashier. There was a girl came out from the kitchen but maybe it was her lunch time because she just took the food and went back inside the kitchen again. I got a chance to be in eye contact with one of the staff in the kitchen and wave a bit. Then finally someone came to the cashier. Hopefully next time at least one person could stand by at the cashier.

And then there's the food… truly mouthwatering! Authentic, fresh, and lovingly prepared. Every dish is an explosion of flavor – from the perfectly seasoned rendang to the delicious ayam jahe and the creamy spekkoek – it's unbeatable anywhere else. You can taste the passion and tradition in every bite. Toko Nina is especially known for its delicious Indonesian snacks like lemper, rissoles, and pastries. Their sweet treats are also delicious. In short, Toko Nina is a must-visit for lovers of traditional Indonesian cuisine. Highly recommended for a delicious meal!

Been coming here since I was young. No other toko can match this one for me. Always delicious food. And the homemade sambal is fantastic!

bad customer service 🙁 Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience here. While there were at most three customers in the store, I stood in line at the checkout for several minutes – as the second. The third customer was still walking around the store. When it was finally my turn to pay, the employee decided to completely ignore me and instead help the other customer, who was not even at the checkout. Of course, it can sometimes happen that an employee does not know exactly who is next – that is understandable. But then you could at least ask who was there first. However, with only three customers in the store, it is unlikely that he lost track. To me, it felt like I was deliberately ignored – for whatever reason. There was not a single apology, not a word of explanation or a simple “I will be with you in a moment” – nothing at all. As if I was simply not there. This is not the first time I have bought something here, but it will certainly be the last time. Too bad, because I used to like coming here. 🙁

Very tasty food! Everything fresh and well seasoned. I have not eaten a better toko in Haarlem than Toko Nina, and I have been to a number of the more well-known tokos.

Super nice and courteous staff. Food is prepared quickly and for the price it is absolutely fair value for money. I'd love to come back on my next city trip to Haarlem ;-)

This is an interesting thing. I was looking for a wok, unfortunately the choice was limited to only 1 type, made of sheet steel. A huge hassle to get it ready for use, the protective layer against the oxidation that always lurks with that material must first be torn off, a heathen job. In addition, the material must then be fired several times so that a non-stick layer can form. However, as far as the food on offer is concerned, the place deserves a lot of praise, it is in excellent condition. There is also truly stunningly beautiful ceramics from Japan for sale, all hand-crafted in a way that only the Japanese can do. Unfortunately, I will have to save up for that first...The costs for the food bowl in the photo? 33 euros... You shouldn't even think about accidentally breaking that bowl after 1 or 2 times. Are you a millionaire perhaps? Then you should definitely take a look there, the money will roll straight from your pocket into the cash register...🥴

The best shop in Haarlem was without a doubt Toko Gembira on Tempelierstraat, but unfortunately it has now been taken over. I recently bought risoles at Toko Nina – after one bite I immediately threw it away. It just wasn't tasty. Even the window display doesn't make me hungry anymore.

Friendly people with a bit of patience. I bought an obscure ingrediënt which I misponounced and was met with a friendly nod, a smile and help. Also observed some people had question concerning the menu, which imho is understandable. The shop is neat and well kept. Would recommend for a quick taste from abroad. Which is a luxury concidering Dutch cuisine.

This is also a very good store. I came there when the previous owners, Nina and Edward, were in charge. Daging Smoor Djawa, Saté Ajam, Sajoer Lodeh... Yuzu (Asian citrus fruit) Ice Cream, wonderfully creamy, tastes like lemon, lime, grapefruit and mandarin!

This store is fine, but I wouldn't take meat dishes from them. As a previous review already described, the meat (chicken in this case) seems to be of inferior quality. Never eaten such disgusting (sorry) satay, well, after eating 1 stick the other 2 were thrown away. A waste of effort and money.

Toko Nina is one of the best Indian shops in Haarlem and the surrounding area. An extensive shop with spices, emping, prawn crackers, rempeyek (also with cashew nuts), crockery, drinks, dried fish, different types of sambal and delicious Indian ready-made dishes. To eat there or take home. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. And don't forget the corn cakes. Always take a few with you! Delicious pedis or mild, you can eat your fingers. And also read the wise sayings on the board outside, humor with a radiant Indian smile. You smell the kretek, see the gunungs and feel the Adat with every bite. I say terima kassi and selamat makan! 👌👍😁

I celebrate the Indonesian food stores where you can put together a plate (container) from lots of pre-cooked food. The Toko Nina is simply great. Great service, great food, great decor. We are often in Haarlem, we will be back!!

Been a few times now, very satisfied with the food. Quality and taste are top notch. And the food is not too expensive either. So as far as I'm concerned, it really deserves 5 stars and no less.

Ordered a number of snacks (pie and corn cakes) and brought two meals with us. Everything tastes great. And the rendang… The best I have eaten in a long time. Beautiful, tenderly cooked meat of good quality. I hope this is consistent quality, then this store is highly recommended!

The quality of the food is 5*, the staff is friendly and provides information and advice on request. People with Indonesian roots also get rice table dishes here.

Nice shop for all your Indonesian dishes

An old-fashioned store owned by an Indian family (I suspect). The feeling of home is greater here than at the Tong Tong Fair, the food is very good. The homemade sambals are highly recommended and if you want to cook yourself, they give the right advice.

Inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een top toko met decennia aan ervaring en tevens een gedeelte met prachtig oosters serviesgoed en toebehoren.

Aardige werknemers, goed aanbod aan oosterse ingrediënten om zelf mee aan de slag te gaan.

Ik kom vooral voor de winkel gedeelte.

A la fois un magasin de produits asiatiques et un traîteur indonésien. Bcp de produits en provenance d'Indonésie dans le magasin et de très bons plats indonésiens à emporter. Une bonne adresse.

Aanrader, voor iedereen die van lekker en vers eten houdt! Fijne plek met vriendelijk personeel. Ik kom er al een aantal jaar en de kwaliteit van het eten is altijd goed! Daarnaast hebben ze ook een supermarktje met onwijs veel keuze aan goede producten. Kleine tip: neem altijd een kwart spekkoek mee anders krijg je er spijt van :)

Niet een hele grote Toko, wel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben chopsticks gekocht en chopsticks houders. Helaas dit keer geen eten meegenomen, maar de keuken is aan te raden 👍

Culinair hoogtepunt in Haarlem. Fantastische gerechten met originele smaken. Mooi gebalanceerd assortiment met kruiden en ingrediënten om thuis lekker te gaan koken en alles met uitermate vriendelijk advies. Mooie collectie porselein. Zelfs koffie uit Indonesië verkopen ze er.

The food was super good! They offer many choices of both vegan/vegetarian and meat dishes. As important, the people there are incredibly kind and friendly as they explained each dish to us for our 1st Indonesian food experience. And they even heated it for us. The service was amazing as well as the food.

Ik had een vegartarische maaltijd gehaald. Eenmaal thuis zag ik dat er stukjes vlees in zat. De volgende dag gebeld en er was heel onverschillend gereageerd... ja misschien per ongeluk vlees in de groente gekomen... Ongelofelijk en slordig! Vegetariers kunnen beter geen eten halen.

Conseguí comida de Toko Nina y la carne picada y el pollo eran increíbles. Acompañado de arroz frito y verduras, fue la comida perfecta. La noche siguiente tuve que volver y esta vez probé carne y pollo más picantes. Comí en el restaurante esta vez.

Me encanta este Toko. La comida es muy buena y el personal muy amable. Mucha gente podría tomar un ejemplo de Mi buen indonesio también aprobó la comida. Cuando estés cerca, ve por lo menos a comer algo. terima kasih banyak
