Kyoju in Wijk 42 Ypenburg

We ate here again yesterday. We have been coming to the owner Rachel since the beginning and the food here has only gotten better over the years, even after her renovation you can now eat here in a really nice atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to eat delicious sushi, the fish and meat dishes are also top notch. Highly recommended!

I went here with my mother and brother. Before we could order, we were asked if we wanted all you can eat with drinks or without drinks. We opted for food without drinks. The food itself was just standard. After dinner I went to pay with the manager (presumably also the owner). She indicated that it was not at all okay not to order drinks, and that the cash register automatically charged one drink per person, so a total of 3 drinks. When I tried to tell her that this is not possible and that I was not told in advance, she said that her staff would sometimes be shy to say that to the guests. So something isn't going right here! I didn't want to make things difficult, so in the end she had me buy 3 cans of drinks and take them with me. Shameful, I've never experienced anything like this. I'll never come back here again

Had a delicious meal here last Wednesday, lovely people and fast service. We were very bothered by a table behind us where the children were screaming, running around and the adults were talking loudly. Sometimes we couldn't understand each other. When we left, we saw a table with half-eaten dishes and slipped on the leftover food, napkins, etc. that littered the floor behind us. We felt very sorry for the people who were allowed to clean that up.

I would like to share a negative experience about my visit to this restaurant. Last Wednesday the owner called me a bad mother. Before we were seated, she said that my 2 year old wasn't allowed to drink from my drink and that if he wanted anything I had to pay for it. This while he already had his own water. Later, when my 2-year-old son wanted to walk around, she came to me and told me that this is normally not allowed. She determined that it was allowed now because it was quiet, but that it would absolutely not be allowed when it was busy. I also understood this. When paying, she told me for no reason that I needed to raise my son better. This went too far. I asked her why she says something like that to a customer. According to her, he should sit and not fuss. She said that she has two children of her own and is always strict, and that I should be the same. How can one expect this from a 2 year old child who is curious and wants to discover everything? I indicated that she does not have a good heart and that I will never come here again. Her response was that she didn't care. When I said I would write a review, she tried to justify it. In short, the owner was not friendly and showed no empathy for young children. Furthermore, the food was disappointing; the sushi was not fresh.

Had a lovely meal with the family. Excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. Very busy, so some of our orders arrived on the table after we had already paid. But apart from that a great restaurant.

Very good and fresh sushi in a beautiful restaurant. Atmosphere and service are fast and friendly and the owner is very nice, also takes time for a chat and appreciates her guests. The Dragon Roll is recommended. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already.

This place is an absolute gem if you like good food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. The food quality here is amazing. I’d recommend the shrimps, beef, and squid. The sushi is also really nice. 5 stars, no doubt!

We had a delicious meal again, the service was perfect. The price and quality are also perfect. We always receive a friendly welcome from the hostess, and this time too, our granddaughter was spoiled with watermelon 🍉 she thought it was great, thank you for the pleasant evening.

Actually everything was just fine. Friendly reception and staff. Lots of choice on the menu, which is useful with children and different tastes. Good portions. You can order via a QR code and go directly to the kitchen. Food arrived quickly.

Went out for dinner tonight and as usual it was really great, the atmosphere is cozy, the staff helps you, the owner is sociable and you can always talk to her. I've been coming here for years and never been disappointed

33,50 for dinner with desert included very good price. the dinner has a lot of variety and the desert as well. you have to scan a QR code and order with your own phone and there is no wifi so bad if you dont have mobile data. staff doesnt speak much english but is very very nice.

Cozy restaurant and delicious food.

My friend and I wanted to have a nice dinner however as soon as we got there we are met with sass without even properly taking to each other. The cashier was rude and lied to us saying the restaurant was full and about to close. Meanwhile, the restaurant was empty and after checking further for closing hours, we found out that the restaurant was going to close 6 hours later. We then ordered takeout food, and had to politely ask for cutlery, which caused her roll her eyes and madly walk away to get plastic cutlery. My friend ordered a Soup and the Tofu was nearly invisible because the amount is minuscule. You do not get what you pay for. The sushi was delicious... only with the dessert (lychee) we found worms/larvae in the fruit. Yes, you read that right.... After quietly pointing it out, they said it was because it came from a can. There was no service-worthy response to the discovery and they left with a sickening feeling. When paying, there were no apologies, just distracting questions about how we found their restaurant. The food was delicious, but the dessert is the only reason I won't be back again...

Let's start with that a reservation is highly recommended, as the place was almost full by 6PM already. The food tastes great and highly recommend trying the Sake Rose (#98) and their fried salmon dish. Waiter service was very good. There are 5 rounds with 5 dishes per person allowed. Reasoning for putting three stars is the bad experience we had during checkout with the owner of the place. They insist we must buy one drink per person or they cannot checkout. This was not mentioned on the menu at all nor mentioned by anyone when we place reservation and had a waiter seat us. The owner make some excuse it's not about money, but when I ask to take two drinks for takeways they complain this is not possible. After some back and forth they finally gave in and give us two bottle of water. Then the owner mention they need to earn money and hope we understand. Lame excuse, they force you to buy items by a policy that is not made clear anywhere until checkout. I was considering tipping them for excellent service by the waiters, but the owner's behavior made me decide not doing so, and removing one star from my review. We spend about 40 Euro per person.

Kyoju is een geweldig restaurant om sushi te gaan eten, het eten is geweldig en het personeel ook. Ik ga zeker bijna elke maand daar eten en dat doe ik al 7 jaar tot het het eten niet meer lekker is. Samen met mijn partner, zoon en pleegdochter eten we daar graag

I go there often. The wontons here are super delicious. I order three bowls each time (2 pieces per bowl) and the service attitude is also good! I usually go there to eat once or twice a month. After the summer vacation decoration, it looks better and is more upscale!

We hebben er prima gegeten alles was erg lekker ,enige min punt is dat als je all incl neemt dus met drinken je goed op moet letten er staat o.a. incl tapbieren. Onze mannen hadden hertog jan( van de tap) die stond op de kaart van 25 cl en 50 cl. Dus namen ze 50 cl. Maar toen we gingen afrekenen wilde ze 6:15 per biertje rekenen. Want alleen 25 cl zit in incl wat natuurlijk heel raar is want als je 2 glazen pp besteld zit het erbij en 1 glas niet is erg krom en nog klein puntje een lach op het gezicht van personeel doet ook wonderen

Quite busy, so it took a long time, especially in the beginning, before everyone at our table (4 people) had something. Quality of the food was good, but sometimes the taste was a bit flat. E.g. Wasabi was not spicy at all.

Their bike couriers drive through the pedestrian zone behind their restaurant. Tried to talk to a biker about it, was just ignored. Such a pitty that this makes the image of the restaurant.

Had a delicious meal at Kyoju Sushi & Grill in the Ypenburg shopping center in The Hague. The outside doesn't look very attractive or inviting, but once inside it really doesn't matter. Clean place, friendly and fast service, easily accessible and free parking in front of the door. An excellent restaurant with an all-you-can-eat concept of delicious Japanese dishes. Lots of choice in fresh sushi, grill or fry and side dishes that you enter with your phone and QR code, and a dessert buffet where you can also put together your own dessert. You can choose drinks included or exclusive. We enjoyed it again. Thank you for the pleasant stay and the hospitality enjoyed.

As an entrepreneur, I eat in good restaurants every day! But Kyoju is unbeatable in its area! Even if it's a little further away from The Hague, I believe it's worth it! For an all you can eat it has incredible quality! Fresh sushi creations and such good grilled dishes. Everything arrives very quickly and very fresh! One of the few sushi restaurants that also offer an all inclusive with drinks!! The Kyoju and its entire professional team has no competition in the area! Always happy to come back. The German manner ;-)

Service fast, friendly employees, nice restaurant, food super tasty.

Went for dinner yesterday with 2 friends. Super friendly owner. Food was delicious and we were even allowed to continue until round 7! We also like the new design much better. Thank you!!

We decided to come here for lunch around 14.30. We were told we would just have an hour and we can order in rounds, every 15 minutes. Usually people can spend a bit longer but we just had to make sure we ordered on time. That went fine. But just a few minutes after our first food order we got scolded to order drinks. The way of communication was very poor and it feels like there is pressure from the owner to the staff to make money. We were shocked, and after overcoming the discussion we had about the lack of hospitality, we decided to just order one drink each for the remainder of the lunch. When we walked out they pushed more arguments onto us justifying why they were right in making us order drinks asap. We felt incredibly thirsty after the mediocre food, so we think there may be a lot of salt in the food. We don't recommend eating here even for the lunch prices.

All young children in the service and a power outage so we couldn't order anything for half an hour, not even a drink and orders not completely delivered

Zeker het moeite waard, eten is lekker, bediening top, prijs kwaliteit verhouding prima, een aanrader voor iedereen die van Japans houdt.

Net gegeten eerste kerstavond.eten was top bediening top.volgend jaar zijn we er zeker weer bij.dikke tien.

Das Sushi ist hier wirklich seeeeehr gut und es kommt kaum ein Restaurant an diese Qualität. Preis Leistung ist insgesamt vollkommen okay. Beim Deal mit Getränken inklusive werde diese recht zögerlich serviert. Ohne das Arrangement ist der Service mehr als zeitnah. Man bestellt pro Person 5 "Häppchen" pro Runde und es gibt maximal 5 Runden, die wie aber noch nie erreicht haben.

Kom hier graag met mijn vrienden een keer in de zoveel tijd. Eten is altijd goed en lekker vlot. De mensen die hier werken zijn ook altijd vriendelijk!

Donderdagavond lekker gegeten met 4 personen. Gekozen voor het diner all-inclusive arrangement. Zowel de sushi als de gegrilde en gebakken gerechten zijn goed bereid en goede porties. Je kunt met je smartphone bestellen waardoor je niet hoeft te wachten voordat je geholpen wordt. Nadat je hebt besteld hoef je niet lang te wachten. Gember (2 liefhebbers aan tafel), wasabi en kikkoman saus werd op verzoek voldoende aangevuld. Ik heb bij veel all you can eat restaurants gegeten in de regio en deze valt in de betere categorie. Personeel en de eigenaresse ook erg vriendelijk. Niemand loopt in joggingbroek of met een petje op zoals een aantal hebben geschreven in de reviews. Met zoveel keus in sushi en andere gerechten zal er heus wel een iets mindere tussen zitten maar dat lijkt mij normaal. Het is heel simpel, dan bestel je die toch niet meer?

Uitgebreide menukaart met veel opties. Er is onder andere grill en sushi, maar ook salades en soep. Door de vele keus in combinatie met het all you can eat concept kan je veel dingen proberen en de lekkerste gerechten opnieuw bestellen. Er komen vaak mensen langs om de tafels leeg te ruimen waardoor je niet met alle afwas blijft zitten.

Food was ok, not special. Waitress was not clear in explaining how it works, so when I wanted to order our last meal, we couldn't. The rules are the rules but please be clear about it beforehand.

Het eten was lekker maar size viel mee

Honestly this has got to be the best sushi I have eaten in a long time, fresh, even after sitting for 30 min while getting it home. I will only order from Kyoju from now on.

Gistermiddag hier geluncht. Eten is lekker vers en wordt op een goede tempo gereserveerd. Interieur is erg mooi en de prijs/ verhouding zit goed in elkaar. Wij komen wel eens terug!

Heerlijk eten, zijn hier al jaren vaste klant

Recent helemaal opnieuw ingericht. Keuken heeft meer ruimte en voor gasten fijne sfeervolle zitplekken. Kyoju heeft lekkere, smaakvolle verse gerechten die goed en met zorg worden bereid. Elke keer genieten! De snelheid is soms een aandachtspunt. De eigenaresse is een lieve betrokken vrouw runt deze zaak met flair. We komen er graag met de hele familie.

Sfeer is beter na de renovatie. Het bestellen is nu met eigen smartphone. Bij mij werkt het niet, dus ik mag nog bestellen met papier. Bij de site staat er nog dat wij kunnen bestellen met bestelformulier, dus moet die aangepast worden om de verwarring te voorkomen. In het algemeen de gerechten waren lekker, alleen dat ze soms niet overeen met het plaatje voorbeeld, vooral bij Sushi. En ze waren niet even gelijk qua grootte, dus soms zijn we verrast hiervan. De bediening was redelijk lang wachten maar nog binnen de tijd, omdat er weinig mensen waren. Ik weet het niet hoe als het erg druk zou zijn. Al met al was ik genoten van de lunch.

Wij zijn vaste klant bij Kyoyu, eten hier regelmatig nemen ook een hoop vrienden en familie mee. Afgelopen zaterdag wilde ik een restaurant kadobon (van 50€) inleveren. Het staat namelijk op de site dat dit restaurant ook mee doet. We waren met 9 personen maar om deze bon in te leveren is onmogelijk, als je all inclusief boekt wordt de bon niet geaccepteerd! Er is vaak discussie en helemaal geen coulance terwijl we daar toch regelmatig eten. Ik vind dit echt niet klantvriendelijk..

Heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs, en de bedienster is een super lieve vrouw! Sfeer is echt top en het is een fijne plek voor familieuitjes. Tijdens lunch is het ook heel rustig

Eten is zeer lekker maar, ik betaalde 42.50 met onbeperkt eten met drank voor 2.5 uur maar je mag maar 5 ronds eten bestellen van 5 porties per keer dus als je er steeds 2 neemt per keer mag je na de 5 keer opnieuw.betalen

Heerlijk gegeten, de gangen kwamen wel beide keren veels te snel achter elkaar waardoor wij met anderhalf uur weer buiten stonden. Voor zo’n bedrag €96,00 euro pp zonder drinken, vind ik dat erg snel

Sinds kort een verbouwing gehad, super mooi geworden !! Het restaurant zit in het weekend altijd gezellig vol ! (Zoals iedereen weet is het nog steeds moeilijk om (goed) personeel te krijgen in de horeca) , dus een kleine beetje respect kan er wel vanaf (vanuit gasten), ze doen hun uiterste best ! Voor de rest hele lieve serveerster en serveersters, de eigenaresse is een hele lieve vrouw en doet altijd haar uiterste best om het iedereen naar hun zin te maken ! Wij komen meestal 1 x per maand en elke keer genieten we weer !😊 We see youu next month
