I always eat the tastiest hutspot in Leiden here during the October 3rd celebrations in the most beautiful cafe in Leiden.

We had a delicious meal at LaBota last night. Great prices, good service, and a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

The pork tenderloin satay was served raw. It was very disappointing that I had to insist on a solution myself, and no apology was offered. When I paid, I even received a sarcastic remark from the owner: "If something's wrong, I'd rather not know." Ultimately, I didn't have to pay for the pork tenderloin, but I found the way complaints were handled very unfriendly.

Last night, we went out for dinner with six girls. Five of them had a delicious meal, but unfortunately, one didn't. She had a pork tenderloin satay, and after a few bites, it turned out to be still raw inside. When we pointed this out, the waitress offered the option of either searing the meat or providing a completely new meal. She indicated she wanted to leave it at that. Everyone was almost finished, and she wasn't really hungry anymore. When paying, she indicated she didn't want to pay for the pork tenderloin. They initially refused. After asking for the manager, she eventually got her plate free. We overheard the manager later making a (funny/sarcastic) comment at the cash register along the lines of, "I don't need to hear about complaints." It's such a shame how this was resolved. A sincere apology, "The food is on us, and would you like another drink on the house" would have been more appropriate. It shows how sorry you are for how her evening turned out, and we would have left feeling better.

Mediocre. Cold, undercooked tenderloin. Chicken satay cold and tough. When we ordered, they didn't include the bill. We won't be returning it again.

Food is very good, a lot of noise from other association (no nuisance) but we could hardly hear each other in the group. Despite the noise, the atmosphere was quite good. The wine was mediocre

I had a delicious rib dish — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Great value for money! The restaurant is clean and welcoming, making it a safe and comfortable place for a solo traveler. Highly recommended!

After all these years, this restaurant remains a hidden gem! The food is delicious, well priced and still top quality. I used to come here a lot when I was a student, and it seems to have gotten even better. I will definitely come back. The snack platters that passed by looked delicious too! Oh, don't forget the desserts! The cheesecake would not have been out of place in New York!

Had a great meal at a unique location in the historical centre of Leiden. Excellent service by Julia, all friendliness and professionalism. Kudos to the kitchen. Tip: order lamb steaks in honey and thyme sauce.

What a faded glory. Upon entering, only two tables were occupied for three waitresses. The waitresses were clearly and audibly complaining about their employers. I ordered and received spare ribs twice, but neither were warm. I reported it and went back to the kitchen... The cook scolded us/the girl for "still steaming." Fortunately, we did receive (the same plates) warm ribs back, including a warm red cabbage salad; the microwave had done its job. Ordering an extra coke wasn't possible because the waitresses were too busy. After eating and waiting 10 minutes with the dirty dishes between us, I went to the bar myself to pay by card. The waitress let a moment of silence fall, so I felt comfortable tipping. I only changed the bill once.

Food was great. Some of the best service I’ve had in Leiden. The portions are pretty good size too. Not sure what all the complaints there are in other reviews.

Wonderful place for dinner with a nice glass of wine. You can also come here for a good drink. The drinks board is highly recommended at La Bota.

Really looooove labota. Funny café where you should not expect culinary miracles, but good portions for friendly prices. There is a super cozy atmosphere. I really should visit again!

3 course dinner with a soup as a starter, slightly on the lukewarm side, but well seasoned. As a main course a delicious Dutch Steak, highly recommended!! The lady blanch for dessert is also good. In short, a beautiful evening with good food and fun!!

Very nice brown eatery with delicious dishes. The service is smooth and friendly. I could hardly choose from the menu. Quite extensive, there is also plenty for vegetarians. Groups smaller than five do not need to make a reservation. No loud music, just nice chatting with each other. TOP. I don't know if there is a drinks/beer menu, but that would be a nice addition. I haven't seen it. Once again, delicious food!

Great atmosphere with really tasty food - we had the tapas platter (on the left in the photo) which was delicious and very good value at €22, plus the nachos, garlic prawns and calamari rings. Total bill for 2 beers, 2 wine, 2 coca-colas and food was €83 (before tip). More than enough for three people! Staff were friendly and there was a warm atmosphere. We will be back!

This restaurant is always full and busy. That is not without reason. The food is delicious (meal salad, steak tips, teriyaki) and the portions are generous for a great price. Introduced by our daughter who was studying there at the time, this is a keeper.

The food tastes good and portion is generous, but the wait was incredibly long, over an hour of wait after ordering, go when you are not in a rush

Because of the crowds, when we drank one coffee after dinner, they asked... if we wanted to sit at the bar because it was busy, so other people could sit at our table before eating... so... eat and salt

I've been coming there since I was a child, when my father would occasionally take me out for dinner, about 35 to 40 years ago. And today I went again with my own family, we come there with some regularity. Delicious spare ribs and Dutch steak, always atmospheric, no absurd prices, always a good experience. This time we didn't make a reservation so we had to wait, a little over an hour in the end, but next time we'll try to do it differently 😅.

The food was mech. I got the duck and the chicken burger to share with my boyfriend. The patty was definitely just a frozen precooked processed chicken tasted very very bad. The duck was tiny and overcooked. The other friend got ribs, those were good. We were hungry so the survive was quite slower than we wanted but I would definitely go back for a drink and tapas. And the deserts are perfect. I do not recommend their main dishes but their starters are good even tho are quite expensive for what you get.

The restaurant itself is typically dutch in the student style where you can eat simple but tasty meals. The service was really friendly, especially when ordering drinks and food. The atmosphere is really nice, warm and cozy. The food was simple but tasty and well prepared. If you are looking for an easy and informal dinner this is the place for you!

Nice restaurant in the city center of Leiden next to the Pieterskerk. Good food for a normal price. Very busy, but that has no influence on the atmosphere.

Eendenborst was niet goed en konden ze helaas niks aan doen. Dit is wat je besteld had. Voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht besteld alleen werd het hoofdgerecht geleverd. Gelukkig niet voor het voorgerecht moeten betalen. Het was VOL deze avond wellicht heeft dit er mee te maken dat het niet top was.

Goede prijs kwaliteitverhouding en bovenal een heel leuke sfeer in dit eetcafe.

Over het algemeen is de prijs kwaliteit verhouding goed. De prijs ligt wat lager waardoor je minder verwacht. Helaas was de schnitzel echt te ver gebakken en niet lekker.

Prima restaurant! Een eetcafé is de klassieke zin. En sfeervol met al dat hout. Studentikoos maar welk kwaliteit.

Heerlijk gegeten met vriendinnen! Leuke sfeer, ouderwets goed eten en een keer andere bijgerechten; kool en maïs. Aanrader!

Vaak geweest, saté en sparribs zijn altijd goed. Kaneelijs is ook erg lekker.

Eten was echt heel slecht. Schnitzel was helemaal doorbakken en heel stug en de biefstuk was taai en koud. De cheese cake hebben we niet opgegeten en terug gestuurd omdat deze heel slecht was. Ter compensatie kregen wij 2 gratis koffie.

Erg gezellig en lekker eetcafee. Lekker achter op het terras gezeten.

Mooie locatie. Gezellig en aardig personeel. Het eten vind ik persoonlijk wat minder. Daar mag wat meer passie /homemade in, en wat minder "pre-fab" gerechten.

Calamares waren wat droog. kant en klaar uit de vriezer. Wienersnitzel was qua smaak goed. Had wel dunner gemoeten. Donker Kasteelbier van de tap was fantastisch

An authentic dutch "eetcafe"/brasserie. Good price and quality. Famous for their spareribs. Pressed beer: try Kasteelbeer from Belgium. For every kind of people!

I've been a custoner at La Bota for 20 years. Unfortunately, our visit this evening will be the last for the foreseeable future. La Bota was always about simple, honest food for a good price and friendly atmosphere. The prices have rocketed, the quality has dropped. The prawn salad for 18 euros was very poor value. The fish and chips was clearly direct from the freezer, the octopus rings were all batter, no octopus and could have just as easily been onion rings. The service was still friendly but helpless to do anything about the quality. La Bota, please source better, cook better and get back to what you were good at...

Gewoon nog een resaurant dat normaal is gebleven! Zeer behulpzaam, attent en gepassioneerd personeel. Gezellige drukte en huiskamer sfeer. Eten is presies goed lekker en compleet, maar niet over de top en nog betaalbaat. Het gaat hier om gezzellig zamen zijn met een hoed bord eten!!

Schöne rustikale Location. Service sehr gut und aufmerksam. Leckeres Essen. Bei 6 Personen waren alle mit der Vielfalt zufrieden. Preisniveau und Qualität gut. Insgesamt war ein schöner Abend Tisch direkt am Eingang war nicht so doll aber das war nicht entscheidend
