The pancake was okay...my husband had a tuna sandwich. Topped with cucumbers and tomatoes. I work in the restaurant industry myself. I would be utterly ashamed if my staff put cucumbers and tomatoes like that on a plate!!! They looked like they'd been pre-cut days ago. At least they took the Coke off the bill. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The pancakes here are very large and flat - and very delicious. Very much recommend the Kirsch/cherry option! Not many options apart from the pancakes and some deserts foodwise, but there are plenty of drinks to choose from. Service here was warm and friendly and cleaning seemed up to usual standards.

The food was good, but the waiting time was very long (waiting 45 minutes for lunch even though it certainly wasn't busy).

Although I found it very progressive that as early as 1986, Arabic-speaking people chose to run a Dutch pancake house specifically, the quality and the overall presentation/appearance had lagged far behind. We just went out for a bite to eat in Leiden and thought, ‘pancakes are always good’.. I ordered the Schaapsbel; you would think it should go well. However, it was completely undercooked, with large, weird pieces of onion, much too thick in the middle and burnt at the edges. My wife had tomato soup. Just like thick Cup-a-Soup. If there is anything easy, folks, it’s fresh tomato soup.. this one: budget option at Sligro, 1 star. Coffee from Alfredo was otherwise fine. The kids had a La Pomme pancake variant; what can I say, lots of sugar, lots of cheap ice cream, lots of cinnamon. If the rating had been based on sugar, it would certainly be a perfect ten. The service was very friendly, though, but the ashtray right on the table wasn't necessary, and the menu was like a sticky fly strip—though it was handy against bugs.

We were able to sit outside on the terrace, and the service was friendly. We were, however, right in front of a student apartment, so we had to get up a few times to let people go to their own apartments. We had a bacon and cheese pancake and a pancake with warm cherries. The one with cheese and bacon wasn't great; the inside was a bit soft. Afterward, we had an ice cream sundae, which was very tasty.

I've had a delicious gluten-free meal here before, but this time it wasn't as good. They didn't ask me if the vanilla sugar they use in making cherries was okay. They had politely asked me this before, but this time I missed it. It was very busy, so I felt a bit lost! The lannekoek wasn't as tasty either, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

After a visit/inspection by Rob Geus for his television program "De Hygiënepolitie," she didn't immediately accept the offered help, but did invite Geus back soon after to confirm that she had already managed to solve 99% of the problems independently! I had a great experience. I'm gluten- and lactose-free, and they were incredibly helpful. They were mindful of cross-contamination and even asked if traces of it were okay! The staff were very friendly, and they had a delicious gluten-free pancake (with warm cherries). I can eat here with peace of mind!

I recently visited this pancake restaurant and my experience wasn't great. The gas smell hits you the moment you walk in, the pancakes are way too thick and therefore raw, and the restrooms are absolutely disgusting!

We were there on October 3rd – a major holiday in Leiden (which we didn't know). The restaurant was accordingly very busy, and even though we arrived with eight people without a reservation, we were shown a table after a short wait. The service was very friendly, and the poffertjes and pancakes we ordered arrived quickly and hot. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but they were absolutely reasonable for our taste. Everything was delicious, and the portions were more than sufficient. We will be back. Thank you very much 💖

We had delicious pancakes today, and we both had the sheep's bell. What was surprising was €15 for one Kriek beer and one Rivella??? There was no drinks menu on the table, and the beer menu didn't even show prices. Felt ripped off!

Beautiful location, but the pancakes are inedible; they taste more like a bland Turkish pizza. The salmon pancakes are served on a plate and are ridiculously overpriced. The bottled beer isn't cold. Too few staff, and the wait for your food is too long. In short, not recommended.

Takes a long time before you can order and portion is very small

It tastes good. But you'd expect that you wouldn't have to spread the Nutella on your own pancakes. The cutlery and plates were still dirty. I think the picture says it all. You can at least keep it a little clean and serve it nicely.

Overall, we were very disappointed. Some of the pancakes were burnt, the staff was very unfriendly, and the bitterballen only arrived after we were ready to pay. There are certainly better places for lunch.

We were aiming for a nearby pancake house from a guidebook but came across this one first. There was just room for the two of us but it was very popular and lots of families were eating there. One of us had the Hongaar, a pancake with goulash , and the other had mushroom and paprika with extra cheese. For dessert one of us had apple pie and the other an apple pancake . It was a cold day so we had hot chocolate, and also cider. The service was friendly and the food very good

We waited 1 hour for a pancake. The people on the terrace were helped first! When the terrace was empty we were helped. What bad service! And we still received an apology!

The dubai pancakes pistachio was so bad

Quiet on Saturday afternoon. There is a lot of gas smell inside from baking the pancakes, so your clothes smell like it when you get home. Sometimes it was even a bit breathtaking that we wondered whether the extraction was turned on. Service friendly but not very knowledgeable. A latte and a French coffee took a long time... walking with a tray was awkward. It's a shame because it doesn't require some training. Drinks tasted great and very tasty with lots of Grand Marnier in them. 😉 Toilets unfortunately filthy, floor a wet mess. We also found it a bit dingy in the restaurant, a lot of rubbish/busyness behind the bar, and at the front of the bar about 12 empty bottles full in plain sight. And due to baking, there is a lot of dust and grease on the shelves and glass plates. But yes, that is not necessary if you clean consistently. When the door to the kitchen opens, we almost spontaneously felt like cleaning. So we see hardworking people, family business?, but with a little more guidance we can certainly make more of it.

The pancakes were very tasty and the service was great by the friendly staff. One point of attention: perhaps install a door closer in the toilets (doors were wide open), because the back of the room smelled quite like a pungent toilet odor. Not very pleasant - especially not in a restaurant.
