La Dolce Vita Ommen in Ommen

This is the only real pizzeria in Ommen. Forget Felice, don't go, it's not Italian at all. This is an Italian place with an Italian kitchen. Real Italian beer, Italian wines, and real Italian pizzas, pastas, etc. Highly recommended!! Update: It's quite mixed. The last experience wasn't that great: a pizza from a shawarma shop or the supermarket was more Italian than the pizza from this pizzeria. So, well..... mixed feelings. Little quality control and I think the pizza maker is a student who rotates and has never been to Italy. The owner apparently thinks it's OK that there is so much difference. The service is very good and friendly, though. The owner was apparently abroad. Missed opportunity. In hindsight, I should have gone to another pizzeria!!

We ate with two people; the (young) staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is located a bit further back, so it took a bit of searching to find it. One pizza was fine, but the second, unfortunately, really wasn't. We sent it back first because there was too much liquid on it, only to then reluctantly try to eat a tasteless, tough pizza. The chef (just starting out?) genuinely felt very sorry about it, and that was reflected in the bill. That is why I hesitated to write this review, but given the other very mixed reviews, I advise the owner to take a critical look at his kitchen staff... However, I am not sure if we will give it a second chance.

Slow service; carpaccio as a starter, very salty, lots of olive oil. I had a mixed grill, meat cold; my girlfriend had pork tenderloin with gorgonzola sauce that was nowhere to be found. After fifteen minutes the fries finally arrived. Ordered drinks several times, brought twice..........We found it disappointing for 84.50.

So many mistakes: dry bread as a starter with no herb butter served with it. Ordered spaghetti that was forgotten to be cooked, and the fries were not served as a side dish. The toilet was too dirty; door handles were missing or on the cistern. In short, never again for us.

We had a delicious meal! You can really taste the authentic Italian flavors and the quality of the food. The staff are incredibly friendly, give you a warm welcome, and do everything they can to ensure everything is exactly to your liking. The hospitality and excellent service make the experience complete. Definitely recommended; we would love to come back again! P.S. I recommend the fish lasagna!!

Starter and pizza came together, ultimately resolved well

We loved it SO much. The food was incredible and it kept on getting better. Gio has been the best host! There was love music and we sang and dance all the evening. I cannot wait to go back, best vibes everrr!!!

Congratulations, you have just served me by far the worst seafood lasagne I have ever eaten. What happened to pasta sheets, what happened to bechamel sauce, what happened to fresh seafood produce…..? Truly awful and not even worth one star…..it should be a crime to offer this rubbish to paying customers. Never again. Not in any way recommended….

Pizza very greasy, knives blunt. It took especially long for our neighbors (they simply forgot, I had already walked away), but also for us it took a very long time before the bill came... The staff isn't paying attention, doesn't look around. Owner is a bit too smooth-talking. A shame.

Some restaurant visits leave you remembering the food. Others leave you remembering the atmosphere. This one will be remembered for something entirely different. Our group arrived expecting a simple opportunity to share perspectives as part of a multicultural project. What unfolded instead felt less like a professional interview and more like stumbling into an unsolicited political rally hosted by someone who had mistaken a restaurant for a podium. Throughout the visit, the owner repeatedly injected racist, xenophobic, and politically charged remarks into conversations that had absolutely nothing to do with politics. Members of our group, representing different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, found themselves listening in disbelief as comments were made that ranged from inappropriate to openly offensive. The most remarkable part was not that these statements were made, but that they appeared to be delivered with complete confidence, as though it was not a pre-arranged research visit, but a rehearsed lecture on the owner's personal worldview. Restaurants are often described as places where people come together. This establishment managed to achieve the opposite. What should have been a visit of cultural exchange became an uncomfortable lesson in how quickly hospitality can disappear when prejudice enters the room. Food can be excellent, service can be efficient, and decor can be beautiful, but none of those things compensate for an environment where guests are made to feel unwelcome because of who they are or where they come from. Respect is not an optional side dish; it is the minimum requirement. We left with a story, certainly—but not the kind any restaurant should want associated with its name. In an industry built on welcoming people from all walks of life, this experience was astonishing for all the wrong reasons. One star is generous.

Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to reserve a table here anyway, and we absolutely did not regret it. As far as I'm concerned, this is highly recommended! The service was fantastic: incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were seated in a spot where a slight draft could occur, and the staff even came to ask if it was bothering us so that the doors could be closed if necessary. That kind of attention is greatly appreciated. But above all, the pizzas were truly fantastic. Delicious in taste and clearly prepared with care. Highly recommended!!

Having spent some time in Italy, like me, I know what a good Italian pizza should taste like! The pizza we had yesterday at La Dolce Vita in Ommen was tasty, but it wasn't a real Italian pizza. No matter, it was delicious, crispy, with a very fresh vegetable topping—whether asparagus belongs on a pizza is debatable. The beer was Birra Moretti, a proper Italian beer, and very good! There were definitely a lot of customers there, and everyone seemed very satisfied, which speaks volumes for the restaurant! We'll be back more often when we're in Ommen!

My friend and I went out for dinner here. We had a 4-course surprise dinner. We tried things here that I wouldn't normally order myself. It was delicious. I definitely recommend it.

Great food, friendly service, but a bit too many people asking if everything was alright. Someone brought warm mushrooms but said they were shrimp. Ask beforehand if you want pasta or fries. For us, fries belong at the chip shop and pasta at the Italian!

Excellent value for money with typical Italian dishes. You'll be served and advised on the dishes in a homely atmosphere. There are also plenty of options beyond the menu; just ask the owner, who is often present and welcomes you with open arms in his own Sicilian way. Besides the delicious meals, they also have a wide selection of wines, which is highly recommended. This restaurant also regularly offers wine tasting evenings with a detailed explanation of the dish's creation and the accompanying wine. Something we as a family thoroughly enjoy.

Delicious food and very nice service!!!

The owner made a very inappropriate joke upon arrival, which he mostly laughed at. The other staff were very friendly. The house wine was delicious. The ravioli with truffle sauce was also delicious. But 12 pieces of pasta for €22 doesn't seem reasonable. From now on, we'll go a bit further afield when we want Italian food in Ommen.

On Gio's advice, we enjoyed a delicious meal of Italian cuisine.

Ordered 3 pizzas for €54. Luckily, we checked the box before leaving because one pizza was completely missing a topping (a shame). The pizzas didn't look particularly appealing, though (disappointed). After we pointed out that the toppings were missing, we did receive a bottle of wine (thoughtful). The pizzas were quite filling, though (which I find very important).

The food was okay, but honestly, nothing special. The herb butter was much too hard, making it unspreadable, and there was a sewer smell outside where we were seated, but the restaurant can't do anything about that.

What a discovery! A Quattro Formaggi with pesto cheese instead of blue cheese was a truly brilliant idea. The pesto cheese added such a wonderful, herby freshness that the other cheeses were even more pronounced. Every bite was melting, creamy, and simply delicious. And then… the limoncello. Ice cold, sparkling, and so refreshing that it felt like a sunny Sicilian holiday in a glass. Compliments to the chef; this was a delight from start to finish! Had pesto pasta with penne. Immediately afterward, I had a stomach ache and needed the toilet. A waitress came over and mumbled, "Whose is this?" Then he said it was a pesto pizza, when it was actually a Quattro Formaggi. I bought a beef steak for €43.50 with barely any herb butter. I asked for medium rare but was given rare. And it still tasted quite tough/like a cheap cut of meat from the supermarket. Never again.

Contrary to our previous review, we had incredibly bad pizzas tonight. They were soaking wet. They tasted like mushrooms from water, and the rest was frozen. Such a shame, as we were looking forward to our annual Ommen outing. During our vacation, we ate here with two adults and two children. The service was reasonably quick, as the restaurant was packed. The pizzas arrived within 20 minutes. The dough was good, the toppings were good, and the temperature was good. In short, a delicious and enjoyable meal.

We gingen buiten zitten vanwege de temperatuur, maar er lagen helaas veel peuken op de grond en meubels zien er wat vergaan uit. Pizza’s hadden we meer van verwacht als je eet bij een Siciliaans restaurant. De bodem smaakt goed maar karig belegd met veel te veel mozzarella.

Simply good food with fresh products

What a breath of fresh air! I came in alone; it was busy, but they immediately prepared a "viertje" (a four-course meal) for me. A very nice menu and a good wine list. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was excellent; burrata and sirloin steak. I will definitely be back, even though Ommen isn't close by. Many Dutch restaurants and cafes could learn a thing or two from this.

La Dolce Vita Ommen is a Sicilian gem in Ommen. You can immediately taste that all dishes are freshly prepared and made with real Sicilian products. The flavors are pure, rich and full of character, as if you are in Sicily itself. From the pasta to the homemade limoncello 'everything radiates quality and passion'. A wonderful experience for lovers of real Italian cuisine!

Good food and good wine always very pleasant

Ate outside, wine ridiculously expensive and very small quantity. Pizza was fine. Other guests could smoke unashamedly at the table under the owner's watchful eye! The owner himself really likes to hear himself talk and is overly jovial towards guests and also gives all kinds of medical advice to guests.

Vriendelijke ontvangst zelf een plekje uitzoeken. Vooraf bruschetta soort hard naanbrood niet watm maar bekeg smakelijk en gekruid. Carpaccio is zoals hoort te zijn. Lasagne (gewone) is voorzien van mozzarella en ham gehakt maar erg flauw en machtig. Zelf peper zout erop is iets beter maar niet top. Mixed grill 4 soorten vlees ossenhaas, biefstuk, varkenshaas en ribbetjes en in die volgorde worden de stukjes ook groter. Eerste drie prima gebakken en lekker, ribbetjes laten liggen ik houd er niet van gekluif en zat al vol ook. Frietjes en mayo top krokant! Sausjes wat standaard bbq chili en soort bearnaise. Dessert 1x de huisgemaakte meloentiramisu is heerlijk! Lekker gegeten.

Dinner for three. Authentic Italian atmosphere. Good food, the Italian style ribs were cooked, tender and mildly seasoned. An eye-opener. The authentic bruscetta is a delicious snack beforehand. The pasta at the table was also enjoyed. The sorbet is unique, but tasty. Portions were more than enough for our party, but not over the top.
