Restaurant Vonck by Flow in Ommen

Reservations recommended. On New Year's Eve, a menu was offered from which one of three dishes could be chosen. Very friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was nicely presented and simple.

The restaurant reopened yesterday after several months of closure. A friendly welcome, delicious food, fast service, and a correct bill. A good start!

Can't rate this because the restaurant is closed. Only open for breakfast and drinks.

Well, the terrace is nice and welcoming. The main courses are a bit disappointing.

Excellent restaurant in a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere

Vlak voor de middag kwamen we aan op een aardig ingericht terras, Moesten lang wachten voordat er iemand langskwam voor het opnemen van de bestelling; een persoon met een roze sjaal was bezig met het neerzetten van bloempotten op het terras en gaf totaal geen sjoege. Eindelijk kwam er een ober langs, die niet erg geïnteresseerd de bestelling opnam. Daarna weer een hele tijd wachten. Daarna kregen we te horen dat de koffiemachine zich aan het reinigen was. Daarna werd een kop koffie op tafel gezet, die vies smaakte. De bijzondere lunch was te eten. Het bestelde glas wijn werd vergeten te serveren. Ondanks het feit dat er meerdere medewerkers aanwezig waren, kreeg niemand het in zijn/haar hoofd om langs onze tafel te komen om te vragen of alles naar wens was. Daarna op het terras toch een wijntje kunnen drinken. Het afrekenen duurde bijna een half uur: eerst wachten op gasten, die zich afvroegen of zij twee eenpersoonsbedden wilden of een tweepersoonsbed, vervolgens grapjes met deze inboekers over 'zwart'betalen. Opschieten was er niet bij. Vervolgens werd er een rekening gepresenteerd die niet klopte. Degene, die afrekende, rekende de niet geserveerde bestelling mee; verder wist deze man niet hoe een actie, waaraan ze zelf deelnemen, in elkaar zit. Dit duurde 20 minuten. Geen verontschuldiging, wel een opmerking dat we nog zo pienter zijn. Al met al hebben we geen greintje gastvrijheid mogen ontdekken. We vinden VONK een aanfluiting voor de horeca in OMMEN.

Prices have gone up by 30%, over €29 for a hamburger... that's a complete rip-off. €12 for fried snacks... well, yeah.

We had a wonderful meal this evening, the starter was delicious, we ordered the entrecote medium rare before we received it Well done, a shame, nothing to say about it, sorry, but the inside of the meat is not really great! Luckily I had a nice glass of wine after that (it was certainly tasty). Otherwise we had a very nice evening.

Delicious food, meat traced to the table, nice experience. We had never been there before, but we will probably come there often. Due to a lack of staff, their opening hours are still somewhat limited, but that will probably be fine. The current staff still has to learn, but they are nice and that is important.

Besides the fact that the ambiance is very good, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. An excellent sirloin steak that was cooked medium and as soft as butter! Plus the delicious side dishes, this was a sublime addition to the whole. I decided on a very rich Vonck hamburger with fries. Sounds so simple, but taste it first, then you will understand that I am talking about quality. The service was exceptionally friendly. The man who served us was knowledgeable, helpful, advisory and professional. Partly because of him, this became a sublime evening and I can wholeheartedly recommend this establishment!

Service takes 10 minutes on the terrace. After walking in, the irritated response is “we're coming”. At lunch they are not asked whether the guest would like brown or white bread or traditional bread, as the menu states, and apparently you get standard white bread. They also have a choice of no fewer than two types of beer. All special. Prices are good. So high. The food is very tasty, by the way.

Mixed feelings after our dinner. Let me start positively; we had a fantastic meal! Our dietary requirements were handled with care...very nice! The girls at the service are friendly and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and the round sofas are comfortable. But when we got home we still felt that the friendly approach of the manager was not our "thing". I (male) was immediately addressed by my first name, the manager came and sat at our table uninvited when he wanted to explain the menu, we found his jokes to be "a lot" and somewhat inappropriate. While other guests may appreciate this approach, it is not our thing.

Made a reservation more than 3 months ago for 8 people for Sunday evening. Unfortunately, I received a call three days in advance that the reservation could not go through because the restaurant was closed (on that day). Very unfortunate, now just try to find a nice restaurant!

A good service from very friendly people who took good care of us. The best place in Ommen. 100% recommended.

Nice and smooth service and she told us with knowledge about the meat that was in a refrigerated display case, its preparation and the taste. Made me hungry!

It's because I have to give a star. We had a “beer tasting” then we were asked what we wanted... Usually when you have a beer tasting it has been thought about. The staff seems to have lost their zest for life... Walk a bit and order a Straffe Hendrik at Spoor 7. That will make your day a lot better.

What a terrible mockery! We received no attention and after 1.5 minutes it was time to taste the three beers?? Past. Nice try, but don't fall for it.

The hotel restaurant is only open on weekends. We had dinner at the restaurant; standard steaks were not available and we were offered meat that weighed approximately 1.2 kg. Since we were a group, we took 2 pieces - one piece was very tasty, and the second was like rubber. The chef himself came and cut the meat - spectacularly. I really liked the vegetables.

We werden verwelkomd door een aardige jongedame die onze jassen aannam. Prachtige openhaard partij en mooie zaak. Jammer dat de keuken de in het oog springende dry-age vitrine kast gebruikt om voorraden zoals potten met augurken etc. neer te zetten. Een wat norse jongeman legde de menukaart bij ons neer en vroeg wat we wilde drinken. Ik vroeg de wijnkaart en kreeg daarop een groezelige grote kaart met daarop bij een aantal wijnen de prijzen met pen doorgekrast en daarachter de nieuwe prijs geschreven. Onderaan stond ook nog een zwarte stift doorgekringelde wijn. Erg slordig. Ik bestelde een fles wijn, die even later door de jongeman zonder een woord te zeggen ongeopend op onze tafel werd neergezet. na enig aandringen en discussie werd met een boos gezicht de fles door hem geopend en onzeglazen ingeschonken. Een andere vriendelijke jongedame heeft ons de rest van de avond bediend. Voorgerechten waren lekker. Het steakmes voor mijn hoofdgerecht was helaas bot. Het was meer trekken als snijden. Op mijn verzoek om wat peper en zout kregen we een houten bakje met daarin papieren zakjes met zout en peper. Het nagerecht was prima, al was de port op mijn nagerecht vergeten. Al met al een slechte ervaring in wat een hele mooie zaak zou kunnen zijn. Jammer

Delicious 5 course dinner entrecote could have been a little juicier. But wonderfully surprised in terms of the menu. Pleasant and hospitable service. Also suggested us to go to cafe de inn. Great idea

Looks nice from the outside but that's about it. I have passed by there many times, but had never been there and had expectations about it. We were 6 people. Wardrobe or coat rack? Our coats were hanging on our chairs as it rained outside. The service was substandard. Every table companion sat with raised eyebrows looking at their plate several times and our taste buds were certainly not surprised. It's that I have to give a 'star'... but they don't deserve one. Definitely too expensive for what we ate. Small detail: orange juice was not available, the soup was too lukewarm and the herb butter was so salty that it gave me a coughing fit. Dame Blanche was a bowl with cold chocolate sauce at the bottom with 3 scoops of tasteless ice cream with almond shavings. Next time just go to one of the restaurants in the center of Ommen.

Ontvangst in een Nederlands restaurant in een Nederlandse plaats: in het Engels. Bijzondet toch. Er waren 2 vrouwelijke gastvrouwen, waarom doet niet de Nederlandsprekende de ontvangst met uitleg dat de andere persoon alleen Engels spreekt en of dat een probleem is? Je staat raar te kijken en niet iedere oudere spreekt vloeiend Engels. Enfin in ons beste Engels naar een tafel gebracht rn daar zitten we. Jawel 5-10-15 ja zelfs 20 minuten zonder enige aandacht. Dames druk met van alles, niet met ons. Na 20 minuten worden er 2 borden met vlees op onze tafel gezet. We kijken haar aan en zeggen beleefd ‘wij hebben dit niet besteld, we hebben nog geen menukaart gehad en er is ons nog niets gevraagd’. Oeps, excuses (in het Engels) het was bestemd voor de tafel ernaast. Vervolgens, haar fout beseffend, kwam ze vragen wat we wilden drinken en gaf de menukaart. Het was inmiddels tegen 8 uur en de meeste gasten waren al klaar en/of rekenden af. Wij voorzagen dat wij daar binnen korte tijd als enigen zouden zitten. Dus kozen geen voorgerecht. Hoofdgerecht 1x tournedos (maar liefst 32 Euro) en 1x vis zeebaars. Daar zit niets bij, apart te bestellen en betalen frites 4,-, salade 5,- of gegrilde groenten 5,-. Dus ruim 30 Euro voor een redelijk klein stuk vlees zonder. De gerechten worden snel geserveerd en zijn zeer smakelijk. Complimenten aan de keukenbrigade. De serveerster geeft geen bestek bij de frites en salade dus dat moet je zelf regelen met het bestek van de vis / het vlees. Niet handig hoor mayonaise met vork en mes …. Maar zo gelaten. Als dessert keuze 3 gerechten, zou wat uitgebreider mogen. Er zat niets van onze gading bij. Dus kopje koffie en daarna de rekening van 80 Euro totaal. Over het eten meer dan tevreden. Bediening mag enthousiaster en efficiënter. Jammer. Het verbaasde ons trouwens dat er in de herfst geen wildgerechten werden aangeboden. Vaak toch een aanbeveling van het bedienend personeel of dagmenu. Zien we op de bar bij het afrekenen een flyer van een wildarrangement liggen!

Very disappointed with our first experience with Vonck. The reception was terrible. We had made a reservation but had to choose a table. We had to ask where we could put our coats. Were served by a young man who barely speaks a word of Dutch. Super fast operation. Yes. However, you don't necessarily want that during an evening meal. No please when serving. No tasty food. None enjoyed clearing it. No guidance at all for this young man in table manners. Shame. Entourage is really okay. But the poor management breaks it down. Shame. They can make a very good tent out of it. The ingredients are really there. But then things really have to be different.

We had tartare and when we asked for a piece of bread with it, the answer was that it would take at least a quarter of an hour. Then an entrecote for 26 euros. For me and my husband it was so tough...not really worth the money in terms of taste.

Er is een hele gezellige sfeer. Het eten en de bediening viel tegen. Vegetarisch eten is echt onder de maat.. weinig en saai. De wijn was lekker, maar veel te koud geserveerd. De bediening kwam de laat als het gaat om het eerste drankje en het eten stond binnen 5 minuten op tafel, was het wel echt vers?

Bad experience at Vonck. We were allowed to have a drink outside and order to eat inside. Sounds great, after 30 minutes I went inside to order drinks... and get the menu. Another half hour later we went inside to see if we could order... and it wasn't busy. Food delivery took a very long time, steak tartare was prepared at the table with traditional side dish. Received a hunk of meat that was too salty on my plate with a bowl of fries. And not prepared at the table either. And with an empty glass you have to specifically ask for a new glass, to the server who did not speak Dutch and shows no interest. Still a lot to learn from Vonck. My wife had a nice meal :) But all in all, not recommended for us.

We were kindly received by an English-speaking young man. What was immediately noticeable was the predominant loud-sounding doeg doetg doetg music, as if you were entering a clothing boutique for young people. Personally, I want to leave immediately, but because we had made a reservation with several people, I asked if some melodious music could be played. Ultimately, this was only complied with for a short time. The food tasted good, although I personally dread a hamburger that was left too raw on the inside. I only ate half of it. The coffee was very good and...at the right temperature. I won't come back purely because of the music that is too loud and overpowering, and not even for that hamburger.

Wij hebben echt heerlijk gegeten hier, flink stuk tomahawk wat gesneden werd voor onze neus door de eigenaar. Ik vond het een leuke ervaring en het eten was echt verrukkelijk. Toetje ijs met huisgemaakte citroen cake simpel maar o zo lekker.

How beautiful the restaurant has turned out! It radiates warmth and conviviality. A lovely relaxed atmosphere. And the food is excellent! Wonderfully tender piece of meat! Good service, very friendly. Good knowledge of the products. It was a wonderful evening out.

We hadden een entrecôte met oerfrites en een zeebaarsfilet met gegrilde groenten. De entrecôte was redelijk taai, de frites waren prima ( wel een heel klein bakje voor 1 persoon). De zeebaarsfilet droop helemaal in de olie, het hel bord zat vol met olie; zo zonde van de zeebaarsfilet! De gegrilde groenten ( broccoli en wortelen) roken en proefden helemaal verbrand. Desert stonden maar 3 keuzes op.

We are at a campsite in Ommen and are real BBQ enthusiasts. So then this restaurant with the great meat from the Josper is a solution! The enthusiasm, but especially the passion and knowledge that the manager spoke about were great! And that was all before our delicious food arrived! So tender, even the children enjoyed the cote de boeuf! And we were surprised with the wines he poured us! Price/quality is in proportion! Definitely recommended if you are in Ommen!

Getting used to the English reception and then experiencing a taste sensation full of surprises, ending with meeting the Spanish chef and showing the Jospers wood oven that gives the “Vonck” to the food 🙏♥️ Delicious dry aged meat cut and served at the table, Spanish appetizer based on a 2-star restaurant with, among other things, octopus and blackberry tasted, what a taste sensation

Today I had a delicious meal here with 2 friends! One of the tastiest burgers I've eaten (and there are many😂). Nice restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommended. See you soon!

The food was inedible. Lobster that tasted of nothing and was tough. Dry aged meat that was also inedible. Definitely not recommended. Overpriced and does not meet expectations at all.

Well. It has been a reception location for asylum seekers this year for those under 18. Pushed through it, so to speak. But afterwards there was not one who was under 18. I didn't understand why the owners just went along with this..... except that f earns well of course. But now I read that they have waitresses who cannot speak Dutch. AHA. Dietary requirements were carefully taken into account. The food was very tasty and we got a cocktail on the house because it was Valentine's Day. The table was also romantically decorated. Friendly and enthusiastic service. They offer a varied menu and they come to your table to cut the meat (dry aged). A nice experience. It was great, we enjoyed it!

The three of us had a lovely meal at this restaurant last night. It wasn't busy for a Saturday night. The service was very friendly. The starter, the tartare, was prepared at the table. Very nice and super tasty. The main course, the cote de boeuf, was also tasty. The recommended wine was also tasty. What surprised me was that at one point the bottle of wine was empty and one of us barely got half a glass, but in the end we had to pay for a full glass. I thought there was a point.

Went to Vonck for dinner, nice ambiance, but then it comes... We order a tomohawk steak 100gr/8€, which isn't bad at all. The waitress (who did not speak Dutch) said that we had better take 1 tomohawk together because they were a bit larger... Well, it would be nice if this was reported in advance. We agree..., but what can you expect from a 400 steak? for together? Forward 500 gr. No, we are being served a steak of 1100 grams! Bizarre, and without batting an eyelid, presenting €88 on the bill... After a lot of protesting we still got a €22 reduction. People beware, you don't want this! The taste ? Taste always remains personal, so it is somewhat subjective for a review. Our opinion ? Don't eat!

Had a delicious meal with six of us last weekend! The decor is very attractive and the service is professional and prompt. The steak tartare was prepared at the table to your liking. As a main course we shared the Tomahawk steak that we had ordered in advance. And the various desserts that we shared were also a treat! I would love to come back here again!

Delicious dinner in Vonck restaurant. Fantastic menu, delicious wine and the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. We enjoyed. Also a super nice children's menu that our 4-year-old son was very happy with. Definitely recommended, beautiful location & we hope to return soon!

Once, but never again to Vonck! Very expensive for what you get! • 2 croquette sandwiches with a pair lettuce leaves €10 • a small bare bowl of greetings- Tomato soup (without balls or baguette) €8,- • milk 3.50 • chocolate milk €4,- Our gift voucher of €35,- According to the not-so-smooth waitress, it was only worth €24.50. However, we were able to prove in the email on our phone that we were right. No sorry or anything, and poor communication. For a luxurious restaurant like this, you expect something better!

We had lunch with you. Bouncer € 12, you expect something, but unfortunately. Hamburger €18, in your restaurant expect it to be nicely "dressed" on the plate. Lettuce leaf sandwich, tomato hamburger slice, this was also not properly cooked, nothing special. A missed opportunity, we won't be coming to your restaurant again.

Made a reservation for dinner at Vonck. Unfortunately, our dog was not allowed inside, but luckily the weather was nice and we could sit outside. The service is the friendliest but not really experienced yet. Questions about the wine or a dish were answered somewhat uncertainly and in my opinion the attitude was also a bit too informal. I also don't think the way the cutlery was placed on the table casually and crookedly was very neat. The food was fine, delicious flavors, but the service still needs some work.

Had lunch this afternoon, the service did not go very smoothly due to a lack of staff (general problem in catering unfortunately) it starts with a drink, ordered an ice tee. Tip: add some ice cubes and a lemon. Looks so much better and more luxurious and fresher. What bothers me is that the bouncer I had was an ordinary bald "home bouncer". 3 eggs, cheese and ham. That's it! . You can also turn a bouncer into a party on the plate. Salt and pepper shakers on the table are also not an unnecessary luxury. Do not serve from the breakfast buffet from bags. And then the price!! 12 euros. way too much in my opinion. (look what your colleagues are offering) If you want to convey that you are slightly different from others, show that at lunch. Missed opportunity unfortunately.. It's a nice thing, but there are still some things missing. .step it up

The four of us arrived. And wanted to have lunch in the restaurant. We had a dog with us. That was not allowed inside. Is that bad, no, those are just the rules of the house. What's bad is the way it was shared with us. Very unfriendly, from above, without looking at us. If you had kindly asked us to take a seat on the terrace for that reason, we would have done so. The tone meant that there was no need for the four of us anymore. We left and had a delicious lunch somewhere else in Ommen. How hospitable can you be.

Nice asset for Ommen. Delicious food and top service. Nice that they use local products. We will be back soon.

We wanted to have breakfast here this morning, entrance could not be found. At the entrance to the hotel, employees only focused on checking out. Then we had breakfast somewhere else. Plenty of parking and a beautiful location for only 3 stars.
