Absolute blast! Sandwiches are tasty and the coffee is great!

7/10. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, my sandwich was good value for money, just a bit too much lettuce for my liking! The caprese sandwich didn't have much mozzarella and pesto. All in all, a nice place!

What a gem in Haarlem! We discovered this spot quite late one Sunday and enjoyed a delicious sandwich and a nice coffee, all for a very reasonable price, which is quite hard to find these days. The service was friendly, even though we arrived just before closing time. We actually wanted a coffee after our sandwich, and even though it was almost time, he was very relaxed and said he was still busy, so we could still enjoy a final cup of coffee. Definitely a place to return to! Good to know: you order at the bar, not at the table (as you might expect).

A modern little café that serves excellent coffee and delicious snacks like cinnamon rolls and pastel de nata. The ambiance is simple and modern, and it's popular with young people.

We ordered an expensive filter coffee, which was even weaker than tea; it tasted like water. The staff only spoke English, and we had to get our own cutlery from the bakery next door. We also found the pastries and rolls too sweet. We wouldn't go back again. It's a shame, as we'd read other positive reviews.

Good product but very very slow service

I bought a loaf of bread this afternoon for €6.50. I asked if it could be sliced, and the employee asked in English if it needed to be sliced. This was a complete failure, after which the partially sliced ​​loaf was literally stuffed in two pieces in a bag. When I got home, the bread was completely stuck together, so I had to cut it in half myself, but that didn't work, so I had to throw the whole thing away. They won't be seeing me again.

Must try their baker's "secret recipe" cinnamon buns. They may appear to have a unique buttery crisp outside but they have the most delicious peelable layers of perfectly fluffy and soft cinnamon goodness on the inside! Full of cinnamon flavour and love! Service and ambiance are perfectly relaxed and welcoming 🫶. Great place to spend part of your day in Haarlem!

I'm not usually a fan of iced coffee, but this one was absolutely fantastic. A heavenly coffee paired with a pastel de nata in a hip and cozy setting – it was absolutely worth a visit!

The staff were very friendly and brought us our food and drinks promptly. The cinnamon rolls and dirty chai were delicious, as was the yogurt bowl with fruit and delicious roasted nuts.

Worst service I've had lately. As a customer, you're simply ignored. In the 30 minutes I spent there, at least five customers walked out, not because it was busy, but because they were ignored. The men were so busy being busy that they forgot there were customers coming to pick up their paychecks. When we left, we had to say goodbye twice, and even then, it was too much for the men to respond.

Wonderful for a cup of coffee and a cozy lunch. I felt right at home. They also run a bakery. Highly recommended!

Cinnamon buns are expensive but incredibly tasty! The cardamom version is also finger-licking good. Quality can cost a bit!

Delicious cappuccino, latte macchiato, cinnamon bun and blueberry cheesecake. Especially the last one was excellent! Actually these are two shops next to each other, on the left the bakery and on the right you can enjoy coffee with something nice or a sandwich for lunch.

Though this place has a high review, our experience was totally unpleasant. The croissant that we got was dry, which is weird for a place that has bakery next to it and as part of the business. It took a very long time to receive our coffee; so slow service while it is not a busy place at all. And more important, it is not a good place to work the cellphone coverage is weak and their own guest wifi also is very weak and loads any pages hardly. We will give it another try later, and hope we have a different experience, but for now, I would not suggest this place especially if you want to get some work done.

I always enjoy this place for coffee and buying bread. But this morning, I want to thank an exceptionally kind and attentive barista! She was absolutely wonderful, professional, and provided a very high level of service. It’s quite rare to come across someone like her!

Glad that we have discovered this great spot in Haarlem. We ordered a Chai latte, Salmon sandwich and some sweet pastries. It's super fresh straight from the bakery shop and very delicious. My daughter has been begging me to come back here. Carrot cake is also really nice. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, even when it's busy. It's our new go to in Haarlem.

Excellent coffee, the open faced sandwiches we ordered exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor and how well the flavors went together. We had a latte and a dirty chai (hands down my favorite one in Haarlem and Amsterdam this far). We also had the pastrami sandwich and the turkey truffle. The staff was nice and efficient. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately, I had yet another disappointing pour-over coffee here. At €5.50, (already expensive) I expect something warm and flavorful, but every time, it’s cold and tasteless. This time, I felt compelled to leave a review—something needs to change. Also, serving it in this glass just doesn’t make sense, serve it in a hot-cup, please learn it! Will stop comeback here, hopefully things will change!

Good sandwiches and nice coffee, but the service was (at least today) very poor. The two of us were just there for a cup of coffee and lunch. While I was eating my lunch, the waitress came to me to ask if I would like to walk to the cash register to pay immediately. I said I would indeed do that after dinner. As if that wasn't already the idea? A bit strange turn of events...

Unfortunately I will never come back here again. I found a blonde hair in my bread. This means that people in the kitchen do not work cleanly. Please use gloves and a hair net!

Cinnamon buns are the best in town, but the staff is sometimes rude to customers or to each other. The baker who makes a bad joke to the woman behind the counter (she didn't laugh), the owner who was rude to the staff or the owner who accidentally gave me a large coffee while I didn't notice. He then came back to tell me this. That felt quite uncomfortable.

Place looks nice, but staff is inexperienced and they use supermarket cold meat on their sandwiches (we saw the Vomar packages) supposedly because they ran out of proper meat. They used way too much sugar in the ice tea. Disappointed.

Very unfriendly staff- unfortunately the worst service experience for us in Haarlem so far.. .. we went to this cafe a few months ago.. we live in Haarlem and wanted to try out this “new” / “hip” cafe spot.. most of the time, the young female staff seemed to be more busy interacting with their friends and colleagues, instead of focusing on the actual customers.. Before we decided to leave the venue, we thought it would be nice to return the tray with the mugs to a desk - to support the staff and reduce the work- load.. When we were about to return the tray with the mug, my partner asked one of the staff members where we could place the tray.. the female staff, however, did not even bother looking at him and just ignored him and his question..and continued chatting with her friends instead.. Haarlem has plentiful and amazing cafes, with amazing staff.. I would therefore recommend avoiding this one, tbh..

Very good experience in this little cafe. The exterior is pleasant with a few tables overlooking a quiet street, the interior is also charming. The waiters are very friendly and prepare excellent coffees as well as pastries fresh from the oven. The croissants are particularly good, better than some French croissants. So I can only advise you to go there.

We stopped by for a quick cake on our way out of Haarlem. Ordered a basque cheese cake, ice tea, and the lime & poppy cake at the bar and sat down in the back. After what we thought was our order was served, a female server came by with a matcha ice tea and we told her we didn’t order it. She came back after checking at the bar and insisted that we had. So we accepted it. As we were finishing our food, this man comes over to ask if we are having the matcha ice tea and then says “you didn’t pay for that!” Rather aggressively. We told him that his wait staff insisted that we did. The female server came over immediately to tell him that it was on her and that we did indeed refuse it. He then continued to argue with her and involved us in it by saying “mistakes happen but..” implying we just took the food without paying for it. A rather sour end to what was a very nice day in Haarlem. Having worked for the service industry, I get that miscommunication does indeed happen. But the place was over 70% empty and there was no reason to be disrespectful to us.

Today, Sunday, July 14, we visited the place and experienced terrible service. The staff had no service attitude; they started talking among themselves, and our order was given to us late and poorly they throw out drinks to us very rude service, the most terrible service that I had.

The service is terrible the guy just came and throw my coffee to me the service is very rude, a bad service can ruin all the experience need better staff.

Tasty, high-quality coffee. Nice selection of cakes. Unfortunately, the waiting time for the order (tea + coffee) was quite long, and with 5 tables occupied by guests, the waitress never brought the correct order, asking each customer if it was their order 🙈

I must say they sure do have the best bakery in Haarlem. A lovely bakery with excellent customer service. If you are looking for some fresh baked bread and yummy pastries to enjoy, then this is the place. Make sure to try their cheesecake; it's magnificent. Also, do not forget to explore their lovely cafe next door to the bakery.

One of the best croissants I’ve had outside of France. Buttery, flakey and delicious! The coffee was also pretty good, but would not say it’s the best I’ve had. The vibe is great and very relaxed. Will definitely be back!

Went cafe hopping today and landed at la maru. It’s pretty spacious and there is a lot of natural light which I like.

Delicious coffee, but no good WiFi and unfortunately the worst reception is at the back of the shop, where the laptop table is located. For a good coffee in between, not as a workplace.

I really like this place, the coffee and chai latte are really good, and their treats are delicious, especially the carrot cake, super moist and tasty! Although I wish they would make the carrot cake with real Philadelphia frosting, instead of the super sweet topping they have now!

This is the place to be for the tastiest cinnamon buns in Haarlem and the surrounding area. You can eat here on site. They have various sandwiches, cakes and other treats. Everything prepared with love. On the other hand you have the bakery with delicious bread based on German sourdough. Baked fresh every day! A treat to eat and drink here. A selection from the range: cinnamon buns, almond croissant, pastel de nata, bread pudding, vegan cakes and brownies. Also a lot of choice in coffees. Also the choice to have your cappucino prepared with oat milk, for example.
