La Perla Pizzeria in Jordaan

I went to eat pasta, but since they weren't serving pasta for dinner, I had pizza and salad. I wasn't expecting much, but the salad was really delicious, and so was the pizza! It's even better with chili oil!

My wife and I returned eight years after our first visit, and it was a testament to our experience! As I told the staff the other night, we thought it was the best pizza we'd ever eaten, even in Italy.

It's a pizzeria a bit above average for Amsterdam. The prices are also a bit higher. It's comprised of two shops facing each other: a bakery on one side and a restaurant on the other. The pizzas are for one and a half people, but if you're not too hungry, they'll serve two.

Tried Pizza and Ravioli. Nice food great vibe. Don’t forget to add orange juice.

We had a very disappointing experience here as a family with our 5-month-old baby. While we appreciated being accommodated inside with our pram without a reservation and the pizza was decent, the customer service was honestly unacceptable. After waiting nearly 50 minutes and noticing several tables come and go, we finally asked about our order, only to be told it was never put through. Even worse, the waitress hadn’t written it down and had to ask us again what we ordered. Once it finally arrived (about 10 minutes later), we ate quickly, only to wait another 10 minutes just to get the bill. No real apology, no offer to compensate for the inconvenience… just a brief “sorry” and the full bill. All of this with a cranky baby in tow, trying not to overstay. It might’ve been a busy night, but forgetting a customer’s order entirely and showing so little accountability isn’t something I can overlook.

Good food. Terrible service. They forgot our order and we waited an hour before asking. Once they realised and asked us again what we wanted and the food finally came. Would have expected complimentary food/drinks or both and got nothing. Awful customer service

We sat there for about 30 minutes, and after 20 minutes, a listless waitress brought us the menu. But our drinks hadn't been taken. So we got up and left.

The pizza was great but the service was a letdown. Came in on time for our reservation but had to wait outside for 20-25 mins. Was then offered free drinks which eventually ended up on the bill anyway. I’m sure it was a genuine mistake but still made for a suboptimal customer experience. Hope the learn from mistakes and improve in the future.

Incredibly good pizza, freshly done. Bit pricey, but that's not a surprise these days. Quality of the food is 💯

We happened to walk past it. What luck! They serve delicious pizzas here. The menu is limited, but the pizzas are truly excellent. The restaurant is small, and luckily they had a table for us. The pizzas are baked across the street in a wood-fired oven.

Fantastic pizza like in Italy 👌

The pizza was cooked in a stone oven and it was crispy with good quality ingredients. I gave 3 stars due to waiting hours. After we sat down we waited like 1 hour for pizza to come. I was so hungry and it was too long for me. Maybe when you are hungry, it is bettee to sit down at the eat&go part of the place which is just across. It is cosy place and staff waa helpfull and they speak good English.

I had a tasty and crispy thin dough pizza at La Perla. I recommend it for those who enjoy an authentic Italian pizza.

They have one of the best pizze I've ever eaten! I was searching for food near the area, and this caught my attention for its seemingly authentic look, and I was not disappointed at all. The staff are all super friendly too, and I would recommend this place to any pizza lover.

While the pizza might be fantastic, the service isn't. The chef constantly yells at both staff and customers. One of the employees said he couldn't find my order and that he'd check where it was. When I asked after more than twenty minutes if my order had been found, the chef yelled at me because I'd only waited 20 minutes but had already asked for pizza four times. 😂😂 What a jerk! Even when I explained that wasn't true and why I was asking, he snapped. Random people get priority, while others wait for over an hour and a half. I would only go here if you're willing to sit quietly on a stool and wait for a good pizza.

Really good Neapolitan style pizza. They have a sit down restaurant as well as a smaller, to-go place across the street (which also has limited bar style seating). We got 3 take away pizzas, including a margharita, a prosciutto and a sausage pizza. All were very good. Recommended.

La Perla in Amsterdam is my go-to pizza spot and easily one of the best in the city! Their salami pizza is to die for. The ingredients are always super fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. If you’re in Amsterdam and love great pizza, La Perla is a must.

It's not a bad pizza, it's delicious. But it's not a place I'd go again. The service is a bit slow.

Terrible pizza — tiny, soggy, tasteless, with burnt basil… I left hungrier than when I arrived, and I even paid €16 (!!!)

It's a shame you can't rate places with 6 stars, because this pizza was deliciously authentic. Great spot and the service was great.

Had lunch here while visiting the city and I’m so glad I found this place. The menu was simple but had something for everyone. I tried the chicken shawarma wrap and it was fantastic — tender meat, fresh veggies, and a perfect garlic sauce. The owner even came to ask how our meal was. That personal touch really stood out. Will definitely be back next time.

I got the Quattro Formaggi pizza and and my God the dough was beautifully charred yet it still retained its fluffy interior, the. Sauce had depth to it and the sheer quality of the cheeses truly brought it all together 10/10 would most definitely recommend this place

The last time I am going to this place! I usually come here because the pizza is good. But today's service was unacceptable. The personnel were not friendly at all. I came in and said hi to the staff. Most of them looked but did not reply. Fine...Then we went to order the pizza at the counter. The old, fat, grumpy man taking the orders was not even willing to take the order at first. Suddenly, he gave us a bit of attention, just to turn his back to grab the stick to move the pizza around and take it out. Meanwhile, he did not say a word to us that he was about to use this stick and could hit us. In the meantime, my friend was looking at the menu so she could not see what the man was actually doing. I had to move my friend out of the way, otherwise she would have been hit by the stick. When this pizza maker finished his task, he was finally willing to take the order, with a bad and rude attitude. My friend spoke to him in Dutch. He almost hit her with a stick. Then I jumped into the conversation and said, in English, that he almost hit her. His answer was even ruder, saying that "it was her fault because of where she was standing". But how was she supposed to know it was a dangerous spot if she was not informed? The staff are responsible for informing guests of any dangers. They are responsible for guest safety, not the guests themselves. Additionally, he added, "Do you want to fight or do you want pizza? Because I work here." Honestly, I wanted to leave when just turn his back towards us. But my friend really wanted the pizza. Because it is her favorite place for pizza in Amsterdam. But I'm not coming back to a place where they are rude, make you feel unwanted, and where safety is in risk. I work in hospitality, and that not the way that you treat guest on the first place. And one of the most important rules in hospitality it's communication with the guest. And that was not even taken into consideration. Instead off communication it ended up in a fight that could be easily avoided. By just informing the guest. It doesn't take that much effort or time. Because, this could end up in a bad accident it will be bad for the establishment.Honestly, I wanted to leave when he just turned his back towards us. Food was delicious, staff was very friendly. But we noticed the second we were inside that the boss was very disrespectful to the staff. Very nice place but the owner creates an unpleasant atmosphere.

Try salame crudo piccante if you prefer spicy side of the world. There is not a lot of place inside so consider take away.

We waited 15 minutes to be served at the door even though we had a reservation. The staff walked right past us and ignored us. We asked the waitress why we had a reservation, and she was as rude as possible. The atmosphere was awful. The food took 45 minutes to arrive. A disaster.

We were so impressed by the beautiful, minimalist little place, mostly furnished with wood. The pizzas were delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable and welcome..thank you!

We got a pizza from the takeaway section of La Perla and ate it at the bar. We were the only guests there. The owner came out of the office with tip envelopes and gave them - without saying anything - to the staff. What an arrogant bastard this man is. So rude to his staff. I just felt sorry for them. Later his assistant (?) came in and said to the boy who was working; ‘he really likes you, that's why he doenst talk to you’ Pfff. Have a little more respect for friendly staff man. We won't be coming back.

I had the honor of eating here last night. Quite possibly the best food I’ve had in Amsterdam thus far. I was lucky enough to sit next to the owner at the bar. Both BiBi and her restaurant are wonderful. La Perla will definitely make the list of must-visit restaurants for future visits to Amsterdam. Such a delight and delicious experience!

The food is good, but the service is awful. it can take at least 20 min to get any attention from the staff even you want to order drinks or food, you will wait pizza at least 40 min; and the staff will always hurt your chair..

Used to be my most favorite pizza place. Their new stuff is horrible, absolutely no service orientation, which resulted in complete loss of la perla's Italian flair. Very rude old Asian looking guy, doesn't let you order a custom pizza. Once explained that I can't eat cheese he accepted my wish but used the most expensive pizza as a template. The pizza I wanted was: no cheese, salsiccia, salame piccante and olives. The guy wanted me to pay 22 euros for it ( their most expensive pizza is 16.50 EUR). I left without a pizza, would have never expect that to happen at this place. Siete una vergogna.

The pizza tasted very good, but there was a big fuss about the size of the crust and the amount of sauce. Very little topping and a crust that is half the size of the pizza...

This was a disappointing experience. Things started out okay but once we ordered our food, our server disappeared. About 40 minutes later, we were finally able to get his attention to ask when we might receive our pizza. After returning from checking on it, he did not provide us with an update and so we asked again and were told it was in the oven. When the pizza arrived after another 5-10 minutes, it was not hot (more like room temperature) and didn't seem to have been cooked long enough as the crust was very light, especially on the bottom. At that point we were so hungry that we ate it anyway but had nothing good to say about it.

I had a terrible experience at La Perla Amsterdam. One of the staff members cursed at me without any provocation. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told there was none available, and no one offered a single apology or showed any professionalism whatsoever. I was denied the name of the person who insulted me and treated with complete disrespect. If this is how they treat customers, I seriously question how this place maintains a good rating. Extremely disappointing. I’ve already filed a complaint with consumer protection and am sharing this experience publicly so others are warned.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, having received great reviews. Unfortunately, I did not. We(2 of us) made reservations for 7pm. After being seated, we ordered beverages and the prosciutto San Daniel. After waiting for 30+ minutes we asked our server when our order might be ready. He didn't remember what we ordered and after we told him, he left and came back 5 minutes later, stating "it was in the oven". 10 minutes after that we received a semi warm, limp pizza with cold toppings. Only because we had waited for almost an hour and were hungry,we ate some of it. I can't recommend coming here.

The pizza was fantastic! Our group got 4 different types and they were all delicious. We showed up with a party of five and we're able to sit at the bar at around 6pm. Service was reasonably fast and we loved our food.

What a disgrace, making a ridiculous amount of money from the neighborhood and being so greedy to not spend a cent to clean up their own mess... Every King's day, every summer weekend, New Year's Eve... This is how La Perla looks like. Shame...

Had dinner at La Perla yesterday with a friend and really enjoyed the pizza, so delicious! We will definitely be back for the food. The service was only a bit disappointing; Glasses were taken away several times without asking if we wanted anything else. My girlfriend's plate was also cleared while I was still eating. We got the feeling that we had to leave, even though there were still plenty of tables available and it was not yet closing time. Too bad, because with a little more attention to the service it would be great.

The place is designed to eat a quick pizza or buy takeaway. The pizza is good but I thought it was expensive for what it is, it no longer stands out.

It was a nice place to sit at the bar for 25 minutes while being completely ignored by the two bartenders. I left without ever being acknowledged and went to a restaurant down the street where I was greeted immediately and had my drink in front of me within 3 minutes.

Absolutely the most delicious dinner of my entire trip! The freshly made pizza was incredible, and the pizza chef was amazing—tossing the dough with impressive skill! I highly recommend dining in, no matter how long the wait for a table—it’s totally worth it! We even got a delicious tiramisu to end the meal. Thank you so much! The pizza was so good, we came back two days in a row!

We were in Amsterdam five days and loved it so much, we ate here twice. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and nice service. On a really cool street with an ice cream shop a few doors down.
