Absolutely great experience. The pizza was really delicious, perfectly prepared and we enjoyed it very much. The service also deserves great praise, as it was pleasant, helpful and attentive. Overall, we felt very comfortable here and enjoyed our visit. We definitely recommend it and we would be happy to come back again.

I've eaten here a few times already. It's a small restaurant, and the staff works hard with the limited staff available these days; the owner just pitches in too. The food is good and affordable. Do call ahead to make a reservation; if there are two of you, it's usually manageable. Personally, I recommend coming here alone if you're not in a rush and want to enjoy the food and your company.

Worst owner ever!! What an antisocial foreigner with a big mouth. The pizzas are inedible and this man thinks he’s been working at this place for 30 years. He is a nasty con artist who puts canned tuna on his pizzas. Never eating at this money-grabber again!!! I wouldn't advise anyone to eat here. The owner is a really nasty man!

Delicious authentic Italian food!

Genuinely one of the best Italian meals we've had. The Puttanesca was fantastic, the Calzone and the Caprese were excellent, and the service was brilliant. Skip others in the area, this felt so authentic, highly recommend.

The head waiter put on a great show 👍 Good welcome, explanation of the menu. But then it went downhill fast. He forgot the wine, and the salad as a starter. A bottle of water cost €7.50. Oh well 🤷 It's a prime location, after all.

I was in the mood for lasagna and this place came through. My friend had the baked penne and both dishes were super hot when served. Overall a great traditional lasagna. The penne also had vegetables and artichoke hearts. Overall a nice experience.

The dishes were excellent, one by one! The pasta came out al dente, the spaghetti carbonara was excellent in flavor, the dessert caste was less to our taste but simply because it's not the style we like.

Had such a delicious meal here! Highly recommended! The beef tenderloin was truly buttery soft, definitely worth a repeat visit! Tomato soup, bruschetta, carpaccio, everything was delicious. The atmosphere and hospitality were also top-notch.

Unexpectedly delicious pizza! The Genovese and Emilia Romagna are real winners of pizzas. Big, flavorful, and mine was nice and extra spicy. Also, tons of chicken and ham on the pizzas, a great protein boost for working out. For this price in Haarlem city center, I will definitely be coming back again.

This has been the best Italian we’ve had on our trip! We ordered the veal in Gorgonzola cream sauce, the tortellini al forno, and a Margherita pizza with a couple glasses of house red which was very good. Friendly service, clean place settings and glasses, and great music.

After a visit to IKEA, we spontaneously decided to grab a bite to eat in the city of Haarlem. We were in the mood for Italian food and ended up at La Picoletta — what a great choice! We had a delicious meal: the dishes were flavorful and clearly prepared with care. Additionally, the service was very pleasant: friendly, helpful, and they really thought along with us. That made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and cozy, making you want to linger a little longer. All in all, highly recommended — we will definitely be back soon!

Ate here last night with a group of 15 (yes, sorry, we were a bit noisy). I thought I was going to a standard 'Italian' given the menu and prices. But I was really pleasantly surprised, just like the rest. The food was very generous, the service was fine and fast. And yet, most importantly at a restaurant: the food was really tasty. I had the gambaretti and it was superb; I’ve rarely eaten so good. Really good pasta and shrimp, so no small things that looked like they were just taken out of the freezer (and that for 16 euros!). The pizza della casa also looked great; not just a standard pizza. Highly recommended, and definitely ignore the negative reviews.

Just had a fantastic dinner . We were a large group and asked the hotel for recommendations. Made the reservations 15 min in advance and everything was ready for us. Service was superb and waitress was patient with all of our questions and requests. Cost was also surprisingly on the low end and food was really good.

We always love eating at La Picoletta! Delicious pizzas and pasta. Our favorite is the mortadella and burrata pizza. The staff and owner, Gino, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I don't understand how this is possible. The oil is literally dripping through my pizza box. The delivery time kept getting longer. The pizza is not good and tasteless. Yuck.

After a long day of walking and exploring Haarlem we had no idea where or what to eat for dinner. Decided to try this restaurant and was very pleased with the food, service, atmosphere and price. The thin crust pizza was excellent, we all had our own pizza. Would definitely go back next time we are trsvelling to this area.

Waited 40 minutes for a drink, then 30 minutes later, pizza. Spent 105 euros with my friends, without drinks or anything. And the pizza calzone was very mediocre, not crispy, a soggy pile of very salty, creamy cheese. Never again for me. P.S.: The herb butter sandwich is excellent.

Yesterday my friend picked up food from La Picoletta. We ordered pasta pesto with shrimps. When paying, shrimps were automatically charged twice, without consultation. My friend asked if there was something wrong with the order because the price was higher than expected. The employee indicated that she normally charges twice per person for shrimps. Fine, my friend thought it was okay. However, when we got home, it was quite disappointing. My pasta only contained six shrimps. And that while we paid extra per person. If you charge extra without consultation, you should at least make sure that the portion is correct. For this price and way of doing business, I really expected more.

Today for King's day when they were selling pizza slices on the streets for 5€. I thought it's very high but the pizza looks nice so it's worth it. So I paid and the lady accurately chose for me the smallest pizza slice ever, so that it was about half the size of a regular one. So 5€ for a micro slice, I was ripped off.

Today a day in Haarlem and tonight at "La Piccoletta" a delicious thin pizza eaten. How delicious these were and well topped. A compliment to the chef. Also the home made tiramisu was delicious. All praise for this Italian restaurant with food and the hospitable service.

The day before March 1, my birthday I went there for dinner to celebrate our birthdays with my son in my hometown of Haarlem. Delicious food! Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. I had eaten there before, I noticed upon entering. That was actually very special. My son and I chose an Italian restaurant on Maps and we kept coming back to this for our choice. Called for a reservation and we were on our way. I immediately had a positive flashback and my mouth was open. Last year my very dear friend / Haarlem artist passed away and the year before he invited me to dinner for my birthday, so sweet! And as it turned out recently, the reserved sign was exactly on the same table!!! I was perplexed!!! It had to be this way. So special! My dear friend was also there in my thoughts and heart. I continue to find it so special. That I even write it. I will definitely eat there again when I visit my son again. What great quality. We enjoyed it! Thank you! :-)

Had a delicious meal here on a Friday evening. The service was extremely friendly and professional, which made the experience extra pleasant. The price-quality ratio is excellent and there is more than enough choice on the menu. Both the pizzas and pastas were very tasty and well prepared. The desserts were also of high quality and a perfect ending to the meal. This restaurant is definitely recommended for lovers of Italian cuisine and one of the better addresses in the center of Haarlem.

Excellent service, delicious white wines. Delicious snails and simply divine steak. Coffee is not very good (but this is a problem everywhere in the Netherlands - burnt coffee beans.

Very tasty food, friendly and attentive service and - especially at the back - an intimate living room atmosphere. Why only 3 stars? That's because you have a lot of trouble with smokers in the kitchen at the back of the business. Besides the fact that it stinks, it also causes breathing problems for one of my table companions for a few days. Of course we indicated this and were told that they would take this with them. This criticism was very politely received. It is possible that this review will add some extra urgency to the importance of doing something about this.

The pizza I got was quite black on the bottom and tasted slightly burnt. When I indicated this, I received another pizza that the chef himself brought with his apologies. In the meantime I was offered a salad on the house because I had to wait for the new pizza. Good service!

Pizza delle casa...rarely tasty pizza! Coincidentally, I walked in on the advice of a passer-by in the street and drove over again from The Hague.

If you are looking for a traditional, Italian pizzeria, this is the place. It is family run, and you get fresh, authentic, and delicious pizza and pasta. The owners and their staff are kind and thoughtful, and the service is great. We love to come back here again and again, and every time we are glad we did. We love the pizza tonno and a simple pizza funghi but also the pizza carpaccio is great! We enjoy their Lambrusco red. And for desserts, we are mostly too full because the pizza are big but the Tiramisu is delicious!

The waitress cheekily explained that some bread as a side dish to carpaccio or soup would of course have to be ordered and paid for separately. It is not included here, in contrast to every other restaurant. Additionally, all prices were missing from the beer menu and the Pizza was burnt.

My partner and I had dinner at La Picoletta yesterday and it was so good we wanted to write a review. I only gave 4/5 stars for the ambience because unfortunately the 'best' seats were already taken and we sat in the connecting room/hallway, but that wasn't too bad. My partner and I are very culinary lovers and have actually visited a lot of Italian restaurants but said that this topped everything. The pizza was really perfect, the base wasn't thick, it was crispy but also really juicy. It more than exceeded our expectations. I had the 53 I think, which was pasta with bacon and Spanish chili and tomato sauce as far as I can remember. Also super tasty. And I have to say, I don't really like tomato sauce, but even I was totally blown away by it. Everything was fine, the service was also good, we drank two glasses of wine and I can recommend the house wine Lambrusco to all wine lovers. It wasn't overly expensive for what we ate. We had 3 glasses of wine, a beer, a starter and 2 main courses and paid around €80 in total. Top!

Highly recommended! We had a very delicious meal here. We were received very kindly by the two waitresses. We had a spot outside, which was lovely with the nice weather. Unfortunately, you are up against a coffee shop. In addition to the delicious Italian scents, you occasionally get other herbs under your nose. 😂 But the food is really delicious. A small point of criticism is that when it is busier they pay less attention to you. We had a sandwich in advance and we received it at the same time as the main course. But other than that, the food was really delicious.

We had bruschetta made with soft toasted bread and flavorless tomatoes. The pasta carbonara was also disappointing due to its overly sweet sauce. It seems many restaurants feel the need to adjust dishes to local tastes by adding sugar, but this is unnecessary and detracts from the authentic flavors. On the plus side, the prices are very cheap.
