Lagom in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

Warm, friendly place, with a gentle and thoughtful atmosphere. The service is very efficient, the waiters attentive. The food is very fine and generous, and exceeded our expectations. We who are used to Parisian TikTok brunches which all look the same, this one was a real nice taste and culinary surprise. Warning: it’s better to book!

After coming across this restaurant via TikTok, the second of us went there for a bite to eat. It was a full tent, but nicely decorated. And we had made a reservation. So we could just keep walking. People who had not reserved could wait in line outside until a spot became available. The food was delicious, special snacks that you don't encounter every day. Definitely recommended This is also certainly feasible in terms of price. Good and fast service

My friend and I went to Lagom for breakfast/ brunch and it was really great! The waitresses were very friendly and helped us with the menu and always asked if we needed something. We‘ve had the avocado toast, the mushroom toast, the cilbir eggs and the oat pancakes and it was really good! We can definitely recommend those things 😋 It‘s also not too far away from the Central Station and easy to find. Will definitely visit again when in Amsterdam!

Absolute zero respect for the customer! Made a reservation there for an important meeting at 9:00 AM. Reconfirmed the reservation the same day early morning. Had to take one hour to get there, just to hear “our kitchen is not working today”. Seriously? Why not letting your potential customer know? You had all the details to make contact! Very very poor service. No sorry, zero service.

It is such a cute cafe, I would recommend making a reservation as they do get quite busy, I ordered the blueberry French toast which was delicious. The service was also great and they were super friendly!

A good address, it is better to book in advance though. The dishes are good but a little expensive (not counting the classic ingredients which are extra). The servers are friendly, and the decor is very pretty!

The food was really really tasty and the prices are reasonable. We got the egg benedict the french toast and the korean chicken burger they were all so delicious. The coffee could be better but overall we really enjoyed it.

One of my favorite places to grab a small meal in Amsterdam. The last couple of times they have had a crowd so I guess it has become popular so a reservation may be needed.

I think for Amsterdam the prices were totally reasonable and the portions ok. I recommend to make a reservation because there’s always a queue.

all-day brunch restaurant near china town. They serve a variety of breakfast dishes as well as burgers/soups, hot drinks, and fresh smoothies. Ordered a pink latte (beetroot and ginger) , korean fried chicken side dish, soup of the day (courgette and potatoes), and a korean fried chicken burger. pink latte was quite nice. I loved the pink colour and the waste was nice - you can't really taste the beetroot. Korean fried chicken: decent portion size, and the chicken wasn't too dry. Soup: Quite heavy and filling. Comes with a large slice of bread. This is definitely enough for a main as the soup of the day had potatoes (pureed) and was very thick, so it was very filling. Burger: Burger comes on its own, so if you want fries, make sure to order them. Make a table reservation as it can get quite busy. Has both indoor and outdoor seating.

The food that was supposed to be warm was cold, raw chicken and weird tasting fruit. The atmosphere is pretty good/nice. Service was extremely nice and sorry about their mistake. Pricing is nice, toilets are clean and a cozy restaurant. Overall not the best but not the worst restaurant.

Very tasty breakfast! The size of the dish is enormous compared to the price, the location is good and nice, and the staff were quite friendly to us. We were also impressed by the quickness of reservation confirmation, we reserved the table one day before the visit (just in case, the cafe ended up being not too crowded) and it was approved in couple of minutes. Enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back whenever we are in Amsterdam!!

Well my little French friends: Book in advance, you double all the queues that there will always be. Everything is delicious but not many sweet options so be careful! We had the scrambled eggs and the savory croissants: they were crazy🤌🏻 If you're looking for brunch: go for it, all the vegan options are crazy and we recommend the chocolate tart x1000

Hadden vooraf gereserveerd, wat echt wel een aanrader is als je niet graag buiten staat te wachten. Het restaurant is superleuk ingericht, met veel bloemen & kleur. Personeel is supervriendelijk en beantwoord al je vragen. We kozen voor omelet, pannenkoeken & eggs benedict en alles was superlekker en ruim voldoende. Er heerst een leuke vibe. Betalen ging vlot & alles was correct.

Very disappointed, we had made a reservation for 2:30 p.m., we went to see two people from the staff, who confirmed that we could take a tour (it was 1:30 p.m.). Arriving at 2:15 p.m., 15 minutes before and obviously our reservation was not validated and we had to be present to validate our reservation... Why tell us that we can walk around the neighborhood while waiting for the time, if in the end it was better to queue outside like people without reservations? The only possible “arrangement” was to eat outside because seating us (knowing that there were at least 2 tables of 5 free) would “not have been fair to the people queuing outside without a reservation”. What's the point of making a reservation if in the end it's useless?

Review for Lagom, Amsterdam Lagom is an absolute breakfast and brunch in Amsterdam! Here’s my review based on our recent visit: • Shakshuka: 10/10 – Perfectly spiced and flavorful. Every bite was a delight! • Oat Pancake: 8.5/10 – A great option for a light yet satisfying dish, though it could use a touch more sweetness or topping. • French Toast: 10/10 – Heavenly! Soft, rich, and perfectly balanced flavors. Definitely a must-try. • Benedict Egg: 7/10 – A decent dish, but it lacked a bit of flavor compared to the others. • French Fries with Truffle: 10/10 – Crispy, indulgent, and full of truffle goodness! • Black Coffee: 10/10 – Bold and smooth, just the way we like it. • Chai Latte: 10/10 – Warm, spiced perfection in a cup. The service was outstanding – waiter was incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back for more!

BOOK A TABLE! We attended at 11am and waited 55 minutes to be seated even though there was only 5 other couples Infront of us. You can choose to sit outside and have no wait time but the service is slower outside. The staff seemed to be slow at clearing tables and seating people as we could see multiple clear tables inside just waiting to be wiped down. I understand it’s busy but just a little frustrating standing outside watching the empty tables. They didn’t seem to be very organised either as there was a few people who just walked inside past the queue and were seated. They may of have had reservations but other people with reservations were asked to wait to the side so this was unclear. Some people were offered to sit at the bar to save waiting time and they accepted. Then we saw two separate people move from the Bar to an empty table and this wasn’t addressed. This seemed unfair as they were jumping from half way through the queue to take a bar seat just to take up another table. Food was reasonably priced but not many plain food items on the menu. I would say this was a disappointing experience especially with all of the high reviews on here we expected much more.

Lagom in Amsterdam is a charming spot that caught my eye on Instagram, and I’m glad I made the visit. There was quite a long queue outside when we arrived, but we were fortunate to get a table relatively quickly. That said, I’d highly recommend pre-booking a table, especially if you're visiting with a large group. The restaurant itself is gorgeous—boasting a beautiful interior with pink trees and a soft pink and pale green color scheme, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We decided to try a few dishes: I had the scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado, while my partner opted for the blueberry waffles. Both dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the restaurant’s attention to detail. Overall, a lovely experience, and definitely worth the visit!

A very good address, a very cozy atmosphere with very pretty decor and a little background music. The servers are very pleasant and very responsive, the prices are very affordable and the value for money is there, the orange juice is super good.

The truffle fries were rock hard. The whole tank really. The Korean fried chicken was not tasty. Kind of spicy, too spicy, too salty. I am of Surinamese descent and am a foodie. I don't have to come here again for the food.

I want to thank the restaurant for their excellent service! We arrived just 20 minutes before the kitchen was about to close, but they still found us a cozy table and took our order. The dishes were served quickly, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, which made our evening even better. The interior was stylish and cozy, but I especially want to highlight their playlist — it was absolutely amazing! A big thank you for creating such a lovely atmosphere. We came on Monday September 9, 2024 around 12:30 p.m. The only negative point is the wait: the restaurant is clearly a victim of its success. I therefore strongly advise you to book. Personally we waited around 30 minutes (we should have waited much longer but we were able to pass in front of larger groups because only a place of 2 was available). The dishes are beautiful AND good and really very filling! Personally I had a Salmon Foccacia as well as the Blueberfy French Toast (which I was unable to finish). I recommend this place and will definitely come back!

My friends and I randomly picked this spot because it was close distance for us at the time but wow what a sweet and cosy place! There was a large queue therefore we had to wait 45mins to be seated. They then offered us complimentary coffee as an apology! We were all pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of foods and the atmosphere was amazing! We will be back to try out the rest of the menu for sure ❤️

Lovely atmosphere, great service and good food

The waiting time to get inside is very long, so we optioned to sit outside as many tables were not occupied. Afterwards a male waiter approached us very rudely and asked us to next time to keep waiting in the line till it’s our turn. No one had spoken to any of us in the line. Afterwards a lady served us very friendly with our order and provided us with blankets as the heating light was not working. I worked for many years in the customer service field and must say the waiter need to get some manners - next to us 2 gentlemen were arguing with him too in support towards us. The food was good but not outstanding as expected, but nicely presented. Price was on the higher side.

It was a really relaxed and very tasty brunch at Lagom! The waitresses are incredibly nice and speak English very well. Our special requests were also easily accommodated, such as gluten-free bread, oat milk, etc. Highly recommended: the Mimosa! Super delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice. We'd love to come back!

Eggs Benedict tasted great but was cold when arrived at the table. More spinach than bread. My Son ordered the tomato soap which was very fresh tasting and blended seasoning well. Not really worth the hype it’s received

Often seen on Tiktok, but what a disappointment! So busy.. Both inside and outside. We waited until people left and sat outside, which was nice! Had to wait a very long time for our order. I know, the employees may not be able to do anything about it. When we received our order, it was honestly disappointing! Had higher expectations in terms of taste. The moment we wanted to pay, we were literally forced by an employee to leave a tip for her. (I don't mind, by the way) but the way it was done was impossible. She also indicated that tipping is mandatory and there is no other option in the system, which I also did not understand. Not recommended, won't come again.

The waiters forgot about us we were Sat outside for about 30 minutes despite the waitresses looking at us more than once but not seeming to know how to do their job properly. The food is below average I would recommend going to chuns or Teds which isn't far we were shocked the bill came to over €50 it was not worth that kind of money at all. I will not be coming back.

We visited for breakfast without a reservation. It was very busy, and there was no seating available inside. However, the staff kindly made room for us and offered us the option to share a table, which we didn’t mind at all. The menu is extensive, making it tough to decide, but we eventually went with the shakshouka and the French toast. The shakshouka was incredibly delicious, and the labneh added a great touch. The dish wasn’t too oily or watery, striking the perfect balance. Overall, it was well worth the visit!

A very good brunch at Lagom. No reservation and there were 6 of us, we waited about 40 minutes but it was worth it, we were placed at a super big table. You need a reservation! We had one and really enjoyed it here! The food was very tasty and plenty, the cafe was pretty and the service quick and friendly. It was a bit pricy but we knew beforehand and Amsterdam just seemed a bit more pricey overall to us.

A bit of a wait, but that was expected without a reservation. Well received despite there being 6 of us! Once installed, it was pretty quick. The servers were sometimes overwhelmed but generally pleasant. Beautiful decor and pretty good food. Small disappointment for the extra fries for the burger and no bread with the salad.

I would not recommend this place. I ordered the BLT eggs, and I was disappointed with both the quality and presentation of the dish. It didn’t look appetizing or well-prepared. The ingredients didn’t complement each other, lacking any synergy, and it felt like a disjointed assortment rather than a cohesive meal.

We had to wait a very long time (15 minutes, beer and cappuccino) for our order, so when we wanted to get on, we were stopped. Luckily our drinks were brought then! That prevented escalation. This was not a pleasant experience! Too little empathy from the staff. Hide behind each other, behind the crowds. No understanding at all for our complaint!

The tent looks nice on the inside, the food is fine, the staff is busy but there is a lot going on as if they don't see you. Food came before drinks. Waitress who helped us pay was the only one who was friendly and did her best.

No one came to take our orders, and whenever we asked passing staff they said someone else would come to take our order in a “few moments”. We had to wait 30mins to get our orders taken out in the cold, under the only patio heater that was not working. The price was average but one can find other brunch restaurants for that range with more coordinated staff and friendlier service. We were alarmed by the price of a bottle of water which cost more than certain snacks, with no possibility for free tap water. The food was good but came after another 30mins of waiting.

Caesar salade is very boring, only took it because the other salade was unavailable. I asked the waitress if she was sure it’s not a boring salade, she said no but it was.

Terrible waiters who do everything to push you away and almost ask you to leave after waiting an hour outside, making you wonder how much waiting time remains. If you are more than two people, this place is to be avoided, because you will see people arriving after you and being seated before you because I quote "it's too complicated to stick two tables together" All this for a brunch that is nothing exceptional, move on
