The price-quality ratio is not balanced. For the prices charged, I expect good (quality) food. The cocktail was also poorly shaken, causing it to quickly split into several layers. It is, however, a very cozy place to sit.

The food was cold twice, and it was too expensive for what you get. The tables were very close together. It was the second time in two days, but definitely the last time.

Disappointing… we were here for a birthday. No one answered the phone all day to pass on the birthday. The waiting times are ridiculously long even though the place was half empty. The staff is very inexperienced. It feels sorry for them too, because there is zero experience and no supervision. We ordered two loaves of bread at 6 o'clock. At 6:30 we asked where they were and were told "all the bread still needs to be finished baking". In addition, we were thrust into a boiling hot plate with the main course. Because we were handed this, someone got gravy all over themselves. We ate for 560 euros without dessert because we had already been sitting there for 3.5 hours by then. A real waste of this beautiful place.

First of all, there was no one to show where to sit (we had booked) and we waited for long before anyone could attend to us. When we finally got someone to attend to us, we waited for over 30 minutes before we could order any drinks. It took another 30 minutes before getting a starter, another 30 minutes for the main course and all tasted like what you would get from an eetcafé for less than 20 euros - not special or worth the price at all. Very disappointing and a total waste of money.

After a walk, we spontaneously decided to have a drink at Lake House in the evening. We were seated on a bench at the side of the terrace, a fine spot for a drink. However, we were subsequently unable to order. I don't think I have ever been so obviously and deliberately ignored by staff. Whenever we tried to make eye contact or ask if we could order something, they looked away, even though the person in question was clearly not attending to another table. In the end, we left without a drink. A shame.

What a huge disappointment our evening at The Lake House in Rotterdam was. We arrived here with ten ladies for a bachelorette party, and truly everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Upon arrival, the hostess was standing by the door, but subsequently, absolutely no attention was paid to our group. We were not escorted to our table, and the atmosphere immediately felt distant. The groom had arranged a bottle of bubbly beforehand, but instead of pouring it ceremoniously once everyone was seated, a half-empty glass was already standing ready while the group was still arriving. Surely that is precisely something you celebrate together. Then the real misery actually began. Orders were taken without any attention whatsoever. No eye contact, no friendly chat, not a single form of hospitality. Just enter the order and leave. Surely, with a group of ten ladies at a bachelorette party, you would expect a little more attention. Our glasses subsequently remained empty continuously. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink. Eventually, we had to ask for it ourselves, and then it took another three-quarters of an hour or so before a few glasses of rosé and white wine arrived. We arrived at 6:00 PM and didn't get our first drinks until around 7:45 PM. That pretty much says it all. The starter arrived late, and the main course took even longer to arrive. When it was finally served, eight out of ten ladies received food and two received nothing at all. Naturally, you wait to eat in that situation, but by the time those last two dishes arrived, the other meals had already gone cold. Additionally, the food was served in a bizarre way. Plates and drinks were simply placed at the front of the table with the request that we "just pass it on ourselves." We even had to pass hot hamburger plates among ourselves. Sorry, but this is not a self-service restaurant. During dinner, the service remained completely absent. Empty glasses were scattered all over the table, but no one asked even once if we wanted another drink. Things went wrong even with dessert and coffee: drinks only arrived after we had already finished our dessert, and once again, everything was placed at the front of the table so that we could just sort it out ourselves. In addition, we heard glasses and items falling over all evening. One of our guests even had a tray tip over, causing glass to land at her feet. That was resolved properly, by the way, so that is immediately the only positive point of the evening. In short: this evening felt completely unwelcoming, completely unprofessional, and absolutely not what you would expect from a restaurant like The Lake House. For a special occasion like a bachelorette party, this was a huge letdown. Poor service, no attention, long wait times, and a total lack of hospitality. We will absolutely not be returning here.

Beautiful location right in the middle of nature. We stopped by for lunch after a stroll through Hillegersberg during King’s Day and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The place has more of a club/lounge vibe than a traditional lunch spot, which made it feel quite unique. We had sandwiches and coffee — both were delicious, although a bit on the pricey side. Overall, it’s a lovely place to relax if you’re in the area, and the free parking is definitely a plus. Would recommend.

We went here for lunch and, given the beautiful location and the prices charged, had high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. My wife ordered the Egg Hemingway Sandwich with ginger tea, and I chose the steak sandwich with a glass of Pinot Grigio. My wife's sandwich was served on the crust of a standard white loaf. We found that very disappointing; at a lunch spot in this price range, you expect fresh and flavorful bread. My steak sandwich was also nothing special. It was actually a small roll with some small pieces of meat, some lettuce, and barbecue sauce. When I tried to eat the roll with a knife and fork and unfolded it, it turned out that one half consisted almost entirely of sauce. The little bit of meat on top wasn't even sufficiently distributed between both halves. The ginger tea was also disappointing. It contained large, unwashed pieces of ginger, so you could simply see the dirt floating in the water. Additionally, these coarse pieces gave the tea hardly any flavor. The only positive thing was the €10 wine, which tasted fine. When clearing the table, the manager asked how we had been. We conveyed our comments politely and honestly. Her only response was: “I will pass it on.” After that, there was silence. I explained it again when paying the bill, but once again, there was no reaction, apology, or form of understanding. We found that very disappointing. In the end, we spent well over €60 and left the restaurant with an unpleasant feeling.

Beautiful restaurant in a stunning location, overlooking a beautiful lake. The service was very friendly, professional, and nice, and the food was fine. But... (there is always a "but"): ENORMOUSLY pricey. 15 euros for a small starter with beetroot, and 45 euros for a (fairly small) piece of Tournedos with barely a side dish; having to pay extra for fries and the sauce, and all of that served at a barely (but really barely) acceptable temperature... I do have an opinion about that. 15 euros for a simple cocktail, 15 euros for dessert... it adds up quickly, and when you are standing outside, you get the feeling that it could be better and a bit more elaborate. Based purely on price-quality, I would give it 2 stars, but due to the ambiance, the location, and the friendly service, it remains at 3 stars.

Nice spot in the Bergsebos for lunch, dinner, or just a drink; good service and friendly staff. The food was good, and the portions were quite substantial. The little ones can also play in the playground right away, so it is a nice location for families with small children as well.

Visited here today Nice motorbike ride here from Bergschenhoek. It was Mother's Day and busy. There was a table free inside. However, it took 15 minutes before we were served; the table next to us on both sides took longer 🤔 eventually we were served when things went faster. You really have to wave to the staff before they come (usually during the Sinterklaas parade I do this with my little boy waving). The food is good and, in itself, the price is good considering what you get. But the fact that a Heineken 0.0 costs 7 euros is really out of step with the rest. Actually ridiculous. That coffee and Rivella are around 4 euros is already pricey. But a 0.0 for 7 euros.... I don't mind prices rising, but then I bought 2 and paid 14 euros for 2 pieces; you don't pay this even at a concert. Would come back? For the food yes, but because of the drinks and the service I doubt it. Lake House looks neat otherwise.

Very nice location with plenty of parking spots and wonderful lake view. Amazing outside sittings on the lake side on a sunny day. They have variety of drinks and food menu is not so detailed but still can find something to eat. A little pricey but is a classy place. You can find a table without reservations on most days. The music was nice but a bit loud.

Beautiful located at the lake (obviously) with a nice terrace, modern inside and small but fun playground. Lunch was very good, modern styled and very tasty. You don't feel rushed here, but on the other hand is waiting for 20 minutes for the bill just slow.

Others' reviews are relatable and didn't help at all regarding the slow service. The beautiful location made us decide to eat there. Trendy lounge music that borders on annoying. Beautiful view over the water. Wooded surroundings. However.... our drinks arrived after about fifteen minutes, our starter after well over half an hour, and our main course after nearly an hour and a half, after I had asked where the food was. The staff was otherwise friendly, but if I get irritated about where your food is, then you are doing something wrong, especially when it is barely busy. And from what I've read, this is a structural problem that the beautiful surroundings cannot make up for.

High tea for a baby shower. The quality and what you get for the price (Eur 32.50 pp) is simply unacceptable. The photo shows what was served at once and is intended for 4 people. So after half an hour to 45 minutes, it was all gone. 1 cream puff for 4 people, how is that even possible?? The rolls are very small, which isn't a problem if there is something else, but that was it... beautiful location, though.

We ate here recently. The location is nice, but unfortunately, our experience was somewhat mixed. The prices are on the high side in relation to the dishes. For instance, the poke bowl disappointed us in terms of taste and simplicity. Additionally, the music at the playground was quite loud, which made it a bit unsettling to sit quietly. It also sometimes took a while before we were served, and we were not often asked if we wanted to order anything else. All in all, it was not a place we would be returning to anytime soon.

The location itself was perfect, but the service was not good. We reserved lunch for 8 people via the website. The reservation stated that we could have lunch from 14:30 to 17:30. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant would close at 16:00 due to an event. It is very sloppy that this was not communicated to the people who had already made reservations.

Poor service. We were here today to celebrate our registered partnership with our loved ones. We emailed, received no response, called, and made the reservation anyway. A glass of bubbly and decorations were agreed upon, as well as the number of people. Upon arrival, we were not received properly; “where would you like to sit?” Tables were pushed together, chairs were hastily thrown together, and a balloon with their own logo was quickly inflated…. We did not feel warmly welcomed at all. We wanted to celebrate our wedding here in a few years, but I will not be coming back. I was just at Lakehouse, the weather was beautiful, the terrace was full, but 20 minutes before someone comes to your table seems way too long. So we left again.

Last weekend, after a winter walk, we settled in for a drink and some snacks. We were given a lovely round table where the four of us enjoyed a delicious bock beer and wine, along with some tasty snacks. Always a great spot after a walk through the Bergse Bos forest!

The service was very friendly but very slow. Despite the nice decor, the ambiance could have used some music.

Had lunch on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful location. The restaurant was packed and therefore very noisy. The service was efficient and fast. The food was mediocre, and the prices of the drinks (wine) were definitely out of proportion, really overpriced.

Sunday lunch with the family. Several people ordered a glass of wine and we asked which wine they had. When I received the bill, it listed wines at 11.50 per glass. The wine that was mentioned first, and which I also ordered, was 11.50 per glass. Other wines were 10.50 and 9.50. The house wine turned out to cost 7 euros. However, the wait staff did not mention that there was a house wine. Disappointing experience. If you charge such prices, you should at least indicate that there is a house wine and which one it is. Our family will not be coming here again!

We ate here with the family; the kids had a blast playing with the Lego wall! The staff was very friendly and pleasant to interact with. The beef tartare appetizer was delicious and prepared right at your table, a fun experience. The steak main course was cooked exactly as requested. Highly recommended for a wonderful evening.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. The location is beautiful, but it was simply overbooked. As a result, my companions arrived late to their table. When the main course was finally served at 9:00 PM, the fish burger still contained a sharp piece of shell. I discovered this when I suddenly felt short of breath and vomited blood, so the evening ended in the hospital. Despite an apology and taking my phone number so they could call me the next day, I heard nothing from Lake House.

Not tasty. More precisely, it was tasteless and not fresh, and my stomach hurts afterwards.

The Lake House in Bergse Bos, a beautiful building in a beautiful location. I've known about it for a few weeks now through a post on LinkedIn. Sunday afternoon, nice weather, time to stretch my legs. The Lage Bergse Bos has been thoroughly renovated, partly due to the newly extended A16 motorway. A nice walk in the sunshine. Suddenly, we're face to face with a Highland cattle and Lake House Rotterdam. A beautiful building on a lake. A large terrace, fairly full. We seek out the edge of the terrace, slightly separated from the main terrace. Nice-looking benches. The rain or something else is affecting the outdoor furniture, making it look a bit dirty/shabby. The sun is shining, so we look over it. After settling in for a moment, the waiter stays far away from us. We see plenty of activity but no scanning eyes for orders. Finally, a young woman says, "I'm right there." Ten minutes later, another waitress comes to take our drinks. 5 minutes later, waitress number 2 appears: "Sorry, we've already ordered." And (no joke) about 7 minutes later, number 3 appears, slightly irritated when we suggest a bit of discussion would help. To make matters even more bizarre, the very first lady from, "I'm coming!", also comes by!!!! The beer and wine arrive shortly after (almost 25 minutes later). The beautiful weather compensated for the wait, but it's hardly hospitality. Meanwhile, we see people in front of us leaving, and behind us, we hear an order go wrong. I checked the reviews on my phone. Slowness is a common complaint "on the water." Pay... wait... wait... I could just walk in. I voice my grievances, but the young people look at me complacently. A polite gentleman (after checking: one of the owners) apologizes. He's right; he'd do well to rouse his staff and keep his customers happy. In short: Lake House Restaurant, where the service is terrible! (A real shame!)

The lunch itself was tasty, but sparsely presented and filled, and the bread was difficult to cut (tough crusts or dull knives?). The side dishes were delicious! A fun detail: the cookie with the coffee had its own logo.

Today we dined with 12 people. The location is truly fantastic, right on the water and with a playground. A lovely terrace in the sun. The menu is also good, but the service is poor. The food was served in batches, and it took fifteen minutes to be served. As a result, the croquettes were cold, so people started eating while others were still waiting. We ordered a vegetarian club sandwich and sent it back twice due to the unimaginative chef in the kitchen. So we ordered the vegetarian croquettes. This was eventually resolved well; neither the croquettes nor the club sandwich were on the bill. In short, Lakehouse is a fantastic place, but there's still work to be done in terms of staff and kitchen.

Had a perfect lunch for 4 yesterday. The 4-course menu of the day was delicious and unique. The dishes were perfectly coordinated, and the timing was excellent. We sat for 2.5 hours. Fantastic.

My partner and I had marked this restaurant as a favorite. Unfortunately, it ended up on our no-go list. The service was far too slow. We tried several times, but it consistently took 20 to 30 minutes for someone to come when we were seated. As a restaurant guest, you expect to be treated well, but it felt like we were just air. This restaurant is losing a lot of revenue because of this. We would have ordered more otherwise, and that's probably true for other guests as well. Furthermore, the prices for some items are very high. That's fine, but with such a price comes fast service and a good investment in sufficient staff.

The food is good, the drink same. The view on the lake is amazing. Free parking is definitely a plus in a city where you have to pay 10 euro to park your car in the city center. The young waitresses and waiters are not really reactive, but the manager tries to watch them. A nice place where I have been already few times.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of wasps during the day, but they can't do anything about that. They give you a spray can of water for the wasps. You can also sit inside. I've been here twice, and the food tastes good, but you get a lot less for the price. Last time I had lunch and had a quartet of fish, a mini soup, a shrimp, a bit of salmon, and some tuna salad with three micro sandwiches. The flavors were fine, but I see other plates with much more for less. I'd just added more bread, and it would have been a completely different experience. And I added different shrimp, but one was enough. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly.

After almost two years, I went back with six people, and the price-quality ratio is still poor. Paying €42.50 for a plain tournedos without any sauce is a bit steep, and it was a bit tasteless. I also ordered corn-fed chicken, which I'm used to seeing very colorful chicken, not nearly white. The corn was served separately, which made it a rather tasteless meal. Definitely not a recommendation to dine there again, despite the lovely location.

In one of the most beautiful spots in the woods, by the water, it's a bit on the higher end, but worth the price. Lovely crowd, great atmosphere, fast, friendly service, and a wide variety of seating options. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, it was a very unpleasant experience. My girlfriend got married last year and had her party here. We thought it was incredibly well organized, and the food was delicious. So we invited a few friends to the Lake House for dinner with us. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, which was nice. There were six of us. My girlfriend and I ordered a Pornstar Martini. It was really bad, didn't taste good, and there was no foam on it. I reported this to the staff at the bedside, and finally, after half an hour of complaining three times, we did get two new Pornstar Martinis. Fortunately, these were good and weren't added to the bill. My husband had a broken beer glass twice. We reported this as well, and of course, we did get a new glass. Then my girlfriend also had a broken glass with her iced tea. We reported this again, and she also received a new glass. Two people ordered Chateaubriand, which was perfectly fine. Three others ordered Surf and Turf. The meat was cold for all three. We reported this to the staff again, and after they had carefully examined it, it turned out to be cold. It was taken to the kitchen and either microwaved or oven-baked for a minute. Afterward, all three received the same plate back, but it was still lukewarm. This is really unacceptable! After complaining openly, it wasn't even taken off the bill. It's a shame.

Last week we had a birthday dinner with 12 people. The music inside is too loud; raising your voice during dinner isn't pleasant. Do the staff/owners listen to the music themselves? A tip would be to ask the customers how they experience the volume. The food is excellent, portions, etc., are okay, but the price/quality ratio is a bit off, in other words, a bit overpriced. What struck me was the truly ridiculous pricing of a beer...even the "special" ones. Come on, people, 13 euros for a half-liter of scumkoppe 😞 😞. That beer isn't that special after all!!! The location is atmospheric and okay, and the staff... well... friendly (when they see you) but not really trained in hospitality... serving soup without a spoon... just not acceptable! All in all, a barely passable rating for the Lake House.

We’ve been here twice; once for dinner a la carte and more recently for the mossel mania. The food itself is good enough. The price you pay for it makes it seem like they’re aiming to be fine dining, but in reality the quality is more at the level of a nice lunch place. So the price-quality ratio is off. The service on the other hand was astonishingly bad the second time we were there. At some point we started wondering if they were ignoring us on purpose because we made eye contact and gestures several times to catch their attention, we even called out to one of them as she walked by our table but she kept walking. The fact that they did serve the other tables around us but not us made us feel very embarrassed. We wanted to leave as soon as possible. On the plus side, the location is magnificent. The views are great! The terrace is very spacious and comfortable. Do keep in mind that people are allowed to smoke on the terrace if you’re sensitive to that. All in all, there are many more nice(r) places in Rotterdam and no reason to come back. We wouldn’t recommend this place to our friends either.

Never been served so poorly. I've eaten almost everywhere in my life, from brasseries to three-star Michelin restaurants. This restaurant is in a top spot, but that's about it. Please find another place to eat. It's overpriced, and you wait 45 minutes for a bottle of water. The waiter drops your food, and then it takes ages to get another one. I had high expectations based on the photos on the website, but the staff has no idea what they're doing. And then I pay €180 for a starter and main course. Never go there. Find a local place. You'll be better off. You wouldn't wish this on your mother-in-law.

Way too overpriced. You're really paying for the space. A salad for 20 euros that's not even worth 5 euros is way too much.

The place is great, the atmosphere and decor are completely contemporary. The service is young, cheerful, and professional. But paying €19.50 for a sliced tomato with a burrata ball and one thin slice of toast is truly outrageous. This dish takes two minutes to make, which anyone can do. No oven or frying pan is involved.

We hebben hier goed gegeten. Ruime menukeus. Smakelijke en smaakvol geserveerde gerechten. Attent personeel. De optie op de website voor een 2-gangen menu (met keuze uit de menukaart) voor € 38 ontbrak in het restaurant. Een 3-gangen menu kost € 55. Dat is overigens niet echt goedkoop: enkelen in ons gezelschap bestelden 3 gangen, maar als losse gerechten bleek dat goedkoper dan € 55. Omdat er in en naast het pand ook een groot feest was, was het parkeerterrein overvol; even verderop is gelukkig nog een tweede parkeerterrein.

Had dinner here tonight with my family what a disappointment!! after a long wait our order was taken then after another 1.5 hours of waiting our starter finally arrived and it was also wrong. Well you guessed it the main course was also incomplete missing fries and was already partly cold. You can normally expect something from the Lake House especially if you throw a lot of money at it.🤨☹️ Thanks for ruining our evening!!

Wednesday evening 18:00 and the tuna is gone, the card is handed out without that message. Why would you say so? And go get it, Schmidt is not far, but make sure that the most popular item on the menu (sushi/sashimi/yellowfin) is simply in stock. Then chocolate heaven of white chocolate of questionable ready-made Sligro quality and much too cold. Ceasar salad with a whole head of iceberg lettuce to compensate for the mediocre quantity of the rest. 7 shrimp spring rolls straight from the freezer in the fryer without sauce for 20 euros is real theft. Gambero Rosso much too bland in taste. Almost nobody inside, terrace busy but not full and still a hole in the kitchen. High ambition level, much too much convenience so price/quality below par. Service friendly but otherwise: a pity.

Lokatie is prachtig maar dat is het enige positieve. Bedienend personeel vriendelijk maar mist opleiding/begeleiding maar up selling is erin gepeperd. Werkelijk niet normaal. Je vraagt een glas wijn en ze stellen een fles voor! De geserveerde gerechten werkelijk smaakloos en aan extreem hoge prijs. De borden zijn half vol afgeruimd. Daar moet je je toch vragen bij stellen. Daarbij verwacht ik in een restaurant met pretenties geen kartonnen bakjes maar schaaltjes. Het is geen snackbar! Voor ons geen volgende keer.

We live not far away from the Bergse Bos and decided to go there for a walk with our dog. Seeing the restaurant we spontaneously stopped for a drink and were delighted that we got a table close to the water. This is a lovely location and the food looked amazing too. Service does take a bit longer (as mentioned in some of the reviews here) but the staff is friendly. We just had a drink and some nachos which were delicious. We will definitely be back here for a meal - the inside looked very nice too.

When you arrive there is no one to speak to you, when we sat at the table no one came to ask if we wanted something to drink. We had to look for someone who could help us. Nice guy who helped us. Sandwich carpaccio and Quattro of fish, the latter was very tasty but neither worth the money. Both fall under sandwich but very minimal. After I made a comment about that he apologized. He has often heard that the prices are way too high and not worth it. Unfortunately this is the last time we have been here. More than €50

A very nice experience! The service was top - the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. You really felt welcome from the first moment. Everything was well taken care of and the team was always ready to help. Definitely recommended!

Verschrikkelijke tent, personeel zonder enige ervaring ( oa wijn op tafel zonder koeler, geen wisseling van glas bij het uitschenken van een andere wijn)plastic stoelen op het terras, extreem dure kaart, sushi en sashimi plateau voor 110 euro, met gerookte zalm?? Serieus?? Te smerige sushi met mango en een uitgedroogde homp wasabi. Echt weg blijven daar. Waardeloos is het.

What a great location to have lunch and chat. Magician at the table showed some tricks. Friendly, knowledgeable and service-oriented staff.

Went there for just a drink. The cost of a single 0% radler was 6 euros. Pretty ridiculous. Overall felt like a glossy place where money talks, but nothing is real.

Nice restaurant But the service takes so long time

It's a nice place by a beautiful lake! The atmosphere, food and location is good. However the service staff could be more attentive and present. I had to wait a long time to order food, and that was when the waiter came outside to collect all the menues from the tables because it was windy. And without asking if I wanted something, collected the menu from my table too! And the restaurant wasn't was pretty empty in that time too, so I can't blame it on rush hour or if they might have forgotten I was there.

Price quality not in proportion to each other Parts of the dinner that were supposed to be warm were cold and something should be said about that

It is nice and cozy atmosphere with good quality food!
