The restaurant looks good and is located in a beautiful area. The menu is promising (though pricey). Things went wrong right from the start with the drinks we ordered: there was dirt in the prosecco... returned it. The bread was not warm. A shame. With the main course, fries were served that were not warm. The meat and fish were fine! New fries... lukewarm again, but third time's the charm. Then the fries were finally fresh and warm! Ordered coffee and a cookie to finish. The coffee was served quickly and the cookie arrived after about 10 minutes! The coffee was already finished by then. All in all, a disappointing experience... because of things like this, the price-quality ratio is poor! A restaurant not to go to again.

Very cozy place to have date and nice food.

Beautiful surroundings and location. That is really what this restaurant relies on, because we found the food and service to be very mediocre. The service is slow (had to ask for a bottle of water three times), the presentation of the dishes could also be much better, not to mention the exorbitant prices. You are better off bringing a well-stocked picnic basket and sitting on the sun loungers by the lake.

Beautiful location and nice playground for the children. However, the service is slow; we had to wait 45 minutes before they came to take our order.

You shouldn't go there for the food. I had an avocado sandwich and it tasted like water. Also, the waiter's sleeve got stuck in my food while serving. Very tasty and clumsy overall. You really pay for the place. Better to just have a drink and eat beforehand.

We sat outside; there were two tables inside. The waitress indicated that we could sit down. We sat outside waiting. A staff member looked at us and slammed the patio door shut in our faces. SUPER bad service!

We had lunch here with 3 people. Unfortunately, I had the Eggs Hemingway and got really sick from it. I sent the restaurant an email to prevent any more 'victims'. To my great surprise, I received ZERO response. The service on-site was good.

August 2026, Part 2 of our visit in Sept 2025 In 2025, the service was very poor (read the 2025 review as well) 1st impression (reception/atmosphere) Today I accepted the owner's invitation following my earlier review from last year. I reported in politely upon arrival. The reception was neutral; there had been no noticeable handover, causing the visit to start as a regular stopover. Service, food, attention The wine, beer, and bitterballen were perfectly fine. There shouldn't be any fault with that. We were asked a bit more often if everything was to our liking, but genuine attention or a brief word about the reason for our visit was lacking. When I indicated upon leaving that I expected a bit more given the invitation, the response was curt: "That's allowed!". Everywhere The invitation on Google seemed like a nice gesture of hospitality, but on the floor, it is not followed up. Serving a drink and a snack without truly engaging in conversation feels like a mandatory checklist exercise rather than an attempt at recovery. Conclusion 2026 Inviting people on Google to show "how it *should* be done" creates a promise, but nothing of that was noticed on the floor. Serving drinks without any genuine attention or a good conversation turns this recovery visit into a mandatory checklist exercise. With a response like "That's allowed!", the service misses the mark again. A missed opportunity. ------ September 2025 (also read the comment below from Lake House) The Lake House in Bergse Bos, a beautiful building in a beautiful location. I have known about it for a few weeks via a post on LinkedIn. Sunday afternoon, nice weather, just stretching my legs. The Lage Bergse Bos has been extensively renovated, partly due to the newly extended A16. Enjoying a walk in the sunshine. Suddenly, we find ourselves face to face with a Highland cow and Lake House Rotterdam. A beautiful building by a lake. A large terrace, reasonably full. We seek out the edge of the terrace, slightly separated from the main terrace. Nice-looking benches. The rain or whatever else does affect the outdoor furniture, making it look a bit dirty/shabby. The sun is shining, so we look over it. After settling in for a moment, the wait staff stays far away from us. We see plenty of movement but no scanning eyes for an order. Eventually, a young lady arrives, who says: “I’m right there.” 10 minutes later, another waitress brings the drinks picking up. 5 minutes later, waitress number 2 appears: “Sorry, we’ve already ordered.” And (no joke) a little less than 7 minutes later, number 3, who is slightly irritated when we suggest that a bit of consultation would help. To make matters bizarre, the very first lady who said, “I’m right there,” actually comes by!!!! The beer and wine arrive shortly after (by then we are almost 25 minutes in). The beautiful weather has compensated for the waiting time, but it does not demonstrate hospitality. Meanwhile, we see “waiting people” leaving in front of us, and behind us we also hear an order go wrong. I checked reviews on my phone. Slowness is a common complaint “by the water.” Paying the bill… waiting… waiting… I could also just walk inside. I voice my grievances, but the young people look at me listlessly. A well-dressed gentleman (after checking: one of the owners) apologizes. That is allowed; he is doing the right thing by shaking his staff awake and keeping his customers satisfied. In short: Lake House Restaurant, where the service falls flat! (Really a shame!)

We had lunch here yesterday. We sat lovely in the sunshine on the nice terrace. The lunch dishes were fine, and the bottle of wine was tasty. We were a bit hesitant due to previous reviews, but the service was top-notch too. We absolutely didn't have to wait long for anything; the service was friendly, nothing to complain about! We will be back soon.

Beautiful locations by a lake and in the woods. The food is of good quality, although it is all a bit on the expensive side. Unfortunately, the service is not of the same standard: a lot of inexperienced staff who are inattentive and take a long time taking drinks and orders. They stood talking to each other more than looking around to see if people wanted another drink. So, in terms of atmosphere, it is a beautiful place, but also a bit tacky/showy crowd, probably lured by oysters and champagne on the menu.

Inflation has hit hard here; only €9.25 for a glass of Chardonnay… Buy price for a bottle €6?? Nice location, but the owner doesn't understand the concept of price elasticity. It’ll surely get a lot quieter here…

After waiting for half an hour, a waiter finally came to the table. Two plates that were not entirely clean, and the cutlery was also sent back. Later, a girl arrived with the wrong bottle of red wine on ice. With glasses that were wet and even one with lipstick. The chateaubriand, however, was excellent. All in all, a fine meal at a beautiful location. Unfortunately, there was a lot of smoking and drinking on the terrace to our left and right (different clientele). Something really needs to be done about the service. The price/quality ratio is completely lacking.

We ate there yesterday evening, Wednesday. We should have chosen something else now that I'm reading the other reviews. Warm red wine at €12.50 for a very small size. Well-done steak while I had ordered medium rare. Drinks take a very long time and didn't arrive at all twice! Staff who do want to do their best, but I don't think they get it. Coming to ask if everything is to our liking, while you are the only one at the table without a plate in front of you, which then comes when the others have already finished everything and are done eating. The prices are on the high side, grand dessert for 2 people, €18; afterwards it turned out that the price was used up. For these kinds of prices, I expect better service and far fewer mistakes.

Unsafe playground and very little empathy!! Added to that, sky-high prices. I was here yesterday with my girlfriend and our children. Her son fell off the swing because a side broke off while he was swinging. He had a spot on his face, some small cuts on his torso from the swing's iron rope, sand all over his face, and his glasses were crooked. Naturally, he was very shocked, as were the rest of the children.. How did they react? Once the question "are you in pain?". That was it. Someone came over and said she would look into it and come back. We never saw her again. In the meantime, they were busy taking photos of the swing. Truly bizarre. It could have been resolved so easily. Give the child an ice cream, for example. Say you are sorry and that you are very sorry about what happened. Show that you sympathize. But there was zero responsibility and zero empathy. *Advice: Do not go here with children. Unsafe, and if something happens, you are on your own.* And 23 euros for a bun with 3 pieces of meat, grilled vegetables, and BBQ sauce is also a bit much. A glass of soft drink (ginger ale) costs EUR 5.90. Really bizarrely priced.

Unfortunately, a disappointing experience. The staff (including the manager) was unprofessional. The food was also disappointing. The fish was dry, and two of us have now suffered food poisoning. Unacceptable! For a lunch costing over €300, we expected much higher quality and service. We will never come here again.

Honestly, I haven't eaten here yet, I've only looked at the reviews. I decided not to go. The discussions with the team that the owner keeps mentioning in response apparently still haven't really helped. I feel sorry for the owner of this otherwise beautiful restaurant in a special location, because he apparently has such bad staff. This is how things are going wrong for your restaurant, and that is a real shame. You are losing not only customers, but also potential customers. What a waste!

I got to experience a party here. In the separate section with the party hall, but what a mess! My brother came over immediately upon arrival to ask if they could sweep, it was that filthy. But when you stand on the terrace, the oranges and passion fruits from the previous party are still lying under the planters with dead grass in them... it is just disgusting! Especially for the price you have to pay here. When it got dark, my mother just went and lit the candles on the tables because the waitresses wouldn't come to do it. This location was high on our list for the wedding. But after Friday, we've crossed it off completely. Simply not recommended.

The restaurant has a beautiful location by the water, with a cozy terrace. We hadn't read any reviews beforehand, but in hindsight, we understand the criticism we are now seeing from others. The lady who served us was very friendly. However, we felt the staff could have been more attentive. Empty glasses were left on the table, and we had to ask several times if we could order anything else. Additionally, we felt the prices were not commensurate with the service provided and the quality of the dishes. You also have to pay extra for everything with the dishes; bacon on the burger, fries on the side, etc. You expect more for this price level!

Nice location, and that is all there is to say. The service is very poor, and judging by the previous reviews, this is a persistent problem that Lake House is doing little about. Staff dropped trays, and at none of the tables around us was cutlery provided with the food, causing everyone to wait longer and the food to get cold. We sat at a small table for 20 minutes without anyone paying attention to us, despite actively trying to make contact. It is a shame, because there is sufficient staff. There is a lack of a clear table allocation and guidance/training for the mostly young staff. The food is not in line with the prices charged. For these amounts, you really should expect more. You sit nicely by the water, and there is a beautiful playground for children. As far as we are concerned, that is the only positive thing. We will not be returning here and certainly do not recommend it to friends.

Food usually okay. Mediocre for the price. Service sometimes good, more often slow and less interested. Depends on the person. Quite pricey. Every day there is deafeningly loud, booming music that makes having a normal conversation difficult and causes noise pollution for the adjacent neighborhood. Lake House really needs to do something about this. This is going to cost them customers and angry residents. Furthermore, it seems like Lake House doesn't care about guest reviews. The negative points regarding service and loud music mentioned in reviews remain issues. Nothing changes, despite Lake House's empty responses to reviews. I advise reading all reviews carefully before you are considering visiting Lake House. After years of visits with diverse groups, we have reached the point where we will henceforth visit accommodations where guests *do* feel like they matter and the price-quality ratio is right.

The balloon package I paid €9 for consisted of 3 dull balloons (yellow and orange) with the Lake House logo large on them. Truly embarrassing. Nothing festive about it, especially for that price. Furthermore, the dishes were really overpriced. Disappointed with this experience...

Great place to get lunch, had the twaalfuurtje which is a good option. Nice view of the lake outside. Staff is always super friendly. Kids friendly playground and indoor lego table.

They charged me for items I never ordered. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, but they brought me a babycino instead. When I asked for the correct drink, they then brought a cappuccino without oat milk. At that point, I just left it. Later, when I checked the receipt, I noticed they had charged me for both the babycino and the oat milk cappuccino, even though I never received what I actually ordered. They also charged my friend for something she didn’t order because they seemed to not understand (and my friend was Dutch so this was not a language barrier) The prices are already quite high, and the food isn’t anything special. The billing mistakes and confusion made the experience even worse and definitely not worth the money.

Complaint regarding administration/front desk employee Last Friday, we wanted to make a reservation, but we saw on the website that everything was fully booked. However, there was a notice stating that you could walk in to see if there was still space available. Because we do not live nearby, I tried calling three times beforehand, but no one answered. Based on the website, we therefore drove to the restaurant anyway. Upon arrival, we had to wait a moment because the front desk employee was on her phone. When I asked if there was still room, she immediately indicated that everything was full. When I indicated that a table inside would also be fine for us, she told me that they were only accepting reservations for outside and no longer for inside. I pointed out that I saw a few people sitting inside and asked if there really wasn't a spot for two. She replied that those guests had "just barely" managed to get a spot, but that nothing at all was possible now. I also mentioned that we had come all the way from afar specifically, but everything I said seemed to be met with an immediate dismissive response, without any attempt to think along or look for a solution. All in all, we found this very disappointing and unfortunate. Especially since the call went unanswered three times. Upon arrival, I actually understood why immediately: the employee was sitting behind the counter on her phone and did not come across as engaged. We mainly felt that no effort was made to think along or to see if something was still possible. The attitude came across as very distant and did not give us the feeling that we were welcome as guests.

Because of our stay in Bergschenhoek, we decided to give Lakehouse a chance, despite the somewhat negative reviews. The location by the water is beautiful, and we were assigned a nice spot. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were given too few menus, the service was rushed, and after the starter (the sushi was delicious, by the way), it took almost an hour for the main course to arrive. In between, we were not asked if we wanted anything to drink. The chicken thigh was mediocre, served with cold fries and an unremarkable sauce. The rack of lamb was better, but like the rest of the dishes, it was quite pricey. A beautiful location, but unfortunately, poor value for money. We had expected more.

There was plastic in my food (it was already in my throat) and the waitstaff were particularly nonchalant about it. According to her, it wasn't that serious, because it was just plastic, not glass. No apologies, no compensation. This is bad service.

Too many large groups, making conversation impossible. To be honest, we missed the “lake” experience completely.

The food was mediocre. In short, it was a waste of our time and money.

For others, however, this is less the case, and that makes the experience much less enjoyable. Quite an extensive menu, sometimes very tasty, but sometimes a bit less so. Very disappointing experience. We tried calling all day, but no one answered at all. We waited in the queue for a long time, without success. Eventually, we drove for half an hour to the location. Upon arrival, there was a hostess standing at the door, but we had to wait a long time there as well. We just came for a drink on the terrace and there was more than enough space. Nevertheless, we were assigned a small table at the back, in a dark corner, far from the water. We politely indicated that we would prefer to sit elsewhere and pointed out an available table. However, the hostess walked away without saying anything. We then approached other staff members, but they just looked at us and walked on. In the end, we were completely ignored and were not even able to sit down. It is a real shame for such a beautiful location. The service and hospitality were far below par. A very disappointing experience.

Hello, we stopped by today. We had called first, but no one answered for half an hour, so we came by. However, we were looked at and spoken to in an unsociable manner, so we left. I found this very strange, so I have now filed this complaint. I hope you will do something about this!

Upon arrival, we were immediately turned away with 2 young children because they were wearing swimwear. When I told my children they needed to put on their dresses, the response was "wet swimwear isn't allowed either. Too bad." I don't know how the employee—who was soaked with sweat herself, by the way—could judge that their swimwear was wet, but that's beside the point. I explained that we were just there to get an ice cream, but unfortunately, that didn't work. Sad. This could have been handled differently.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lake House Rotterdam. A beautiful location by the water with a relaxed atmosphere and a great view. The sea bass was perfectly prepared: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was also friendly and attentive. Whether you come for lunch, dinner, or a drink on the terrace, this is truly a place to unwind. Highly recommended! 🌿🍷🐟

What a lovely afternoon. We enjoyed an excellent lunch, starting with oysters and a fantastic steak tartare paired with a beautiful rosé. We finished the afternoon with delicious French toast. Thanks to René for the attentive and hospitable service!

Slow service, the only nice thing is the location

Poor service. When they put down the menus, it takes a very long time before they take the order. Once they have done that, they just leave the menus lying there. We also had to ask for drinks ourselves. Then they put down food while 4 other guests haven't received their meal yet, and it takes quite a long time before the other food is served. They also don't listen properly when you explicitly ask for well-done meat. Once the food is served, they don't ask if you would like something to drink. You have to ask for that yourself, and then they forget to serve it again... After asking again where the drinks are, they eventually arrive, but they just leave the empty glasses and bottles standing there. The serving staff is clearly not capable or trained to provide any service whatsoever or to understand what they are doing. They literally just walk around aimlessly. In short... a lot of fuss, but it really amounts to nothing...

After a bike ride on a hot day, we wanted to have a bite to eat. When we arrived at the Lake House, we saw a table (23) out of the sun in the grass. The waiter was clearing the table. We asked her if we could take a seat, to which she replied: "Have you made a reservation?" We said no, but we have to. According to the waiter, we had to wait by the pole until someone came to get us. It was our first time (and also our last) and we said that we did not know this. We were then served by the waiter in a very unpleasant manner. We had a drink and went to a location where we were welcome. From now on, we will take a different exit than Lake House.

Very busy and lots of crying children. Food was okay. You do have to ask for ice in your drink. Cutlery wasn't there yet when the food arrived, so we had to ask for that too. Staff is incompetent. Nice terrace by the water though. But don't come for a quiet meal on the weekend.

3 1/5 today was very bad, the service doesn't even acknowledge you. The lady in the red dress just said she would call someone when she was finished with her work. The food was cold twice, and it was too expensive for what you get. The tables were very close together. It was the second time in two days, but definitely the last time.

Disappointing… we were here for a birthday. No one answered the phone all day to pass on the birthday. The waiting times are ridiculously long even though the place was half empty. The staff is very inexperienced. It feels sorry for them too, because there is zero experience and no supervision. We ordered two loaves of bread at 6 o'clock. At 6:30 we asked where they were and were told "all the bread still needs to be finished baking". In addition, we were thrust into a boiling hot plate with the main course. Because we were handed this, someone got gravy all over themselves. We ate for 560 euros without dessert because we had already been sitting there for 3.5 hours by then. A real waste of this beautiful place.

First of all, there was no one to show where to sit (we had booked) and we waited for long before anyone could attend to us. When we finally got someone to attend to us, we waited for over 30 minutes before we could order any drinks. It took another 30 minutes before getting a starter, another 30 minutes for the main course and all tasted like what you would get from an eetcafé for less than 20 euros - not special or worth the price at all. Very disappointing and a total waste of money.

After a walk, we spontaneously decided to have a drink at Lake House in the evening. We were seated on a bench at the side of the terrace, a fine spot for a drink. However, we were subsequently unable to order. I don't think I have ever been so obviously and deliberately ignored by staff. Whenever we tried to make eye contact or ask if we could order something, they looked away, even though the person in question was clearly not attending to another table. In the end, we left without a drink. A shame.

What a huge disappointment our evening at The Lake House in Rotterdam was. We arrived here with ten ladies for a bachelorette party, and truly everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Upon arrival, the hostess was standing by the door, but subsequently, absolutely no attention was paid to our group. We were not escorted to our table, and the atmosphere immediately felt distant. The groom had arranged a bottle of bubbly beforehand, but instead of pouring it ceremoniously once everyone was seated, a half-empty glass was already standing ready while the group was still arriving. Surely that is precisely something you celebrate together. Then the real misery actually began. Orders were taken without any attention whatsoever. No eye contact, no friendly chat, not a single form of hospitality. Just enter the order and leave. Surely, with a group of ten ladies at a bachelorette party, you would expect a little more attention. Our glasses subsequently remained empty continuously. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink. Eventually, we had to ask for it ourselves, and then it took another three-quarters of an hour or so before a few glasses of rosé and white wine arrived. We arrived at 6:00 PM and didn't get our first drinks until around 7:45 PM. That pretty much says it all. The starter arrived late, and the main course took even longer to arrive. When it was finally served, eight out of ten ladies received food and two received nothing at all. Naturally, you wait to eat in that situation, but by the time those last two dishes arrived, the other meals had already gone cold. Additionally, the food was served in a bizarre way. Plates and drinks were simply placed at the front of the table with the request that we "just pass it on ourselves." We even had to pass hot hamburger plates among ourselves. Sorry, but this is not a self-service restaurant. During dinner, the service remained completely absent. Empty glasses were scattered all over the table, but no one asked even once if we wanted another drink. Things went wrong even with dessert and coffee: drinks only arrived after we had already finished our dessert, and once again, everything was placed at the front of the table so that we could just sort it out ourselves. In addition, we heard glasses and items falling over all evening. One of our guests even had a tray tip over, causing glass to land at her feet. That was resolved properly, by the way, so that is immediately the only positive point of the evening. In short: this evening felt completely unwelcoming, completely unprofessional, and absolutely not what you would expect from a restaurant like The Lake House. For a special occasion like a bachelorette party, this was a huge letdown. Poor service, no attention, long wait times, and a total lack of hospitality. We will absolutely not be returning here.

Beautiful location right in the middle of nature. We stopped by for lunch after a stroll through Hillegersberg during King’s Day and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The place has more of a club/lounge vibe than a traditional lunch spot, which made it feel quite unique. We had sandwiches and coffee — both were delicious, although a bit on the pricey side. Overall, it’s a lovely place to relax if you’re in the area, and the free parking is definitely a plus. Would recommend.

Beautiful restaurant in a stunning location, overlooking a beautiful lake. The service was very friendly, professional, and nice, and the food was fine. But... (there is always a "but"): ENORMOUSLY pricey. 15 euros for a small starter with beetroot, and 45 euros for a (fairly small) piece of Tournedos with barely a side dish; having to pay extra for fries and the sauce, and all of that served at a barely (but really barely) acceptable temperature... I do have an opinion about that. 15 euros for a simple cocktail, 15 euros for dessert... it adds up quickly, and when you are standing outside, you get the feeling that it could be better and a bit more elaborate. Based purely on price-quality, I would give it 2 stars, but due to the ambiance, the location, and the friendly service, it remains at 3 stars.

We went here for lunch and, given the beautiful location and the prices charged, had high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. My wife ordered the Egg Hemingway Sandwich with ginger tea, and I chose the steak sandwich with a glass of Pinot Grigio. My wife's sandwich was served on the crust of a standard white loaf. We found that very disappointing; at a lunch spot in this price range, you expect fresh and flavorful bread. My steak sandwich was also nothing special. It was actually a small roll with some small pieces of meat, some lettuce, and barbecue sauce. When I tried to eat the roll with a knife and fork and unfolded it, it turned out that one half consisted almost entirely of sauce. The little bit of meat on top wasn't even sufficiently distributed between both halves. The ginger tea was also disappointing. It contained large, unwashed pieces of ginger, so you could simply see the dirt floating in the water. Additionally, these coarse pieces gave the tea hardly any flavor. The only positive thing was the €10 wine, which tasted fine. When clearing the table, the manager asked how we had been. We conveyed our comments politely and honestly. Her only response was: “I will pass it on.” After that, there was silence. I explained it again when paying the bill, but once again, there was no reaction, apology, or form of understanding. We found that very disappointing. In the end, we spent well over €60 and left the restaurant with an unpleasant feeling.

Visited here today Nice motorbike ride here from Bergschenhoek. It was Mother's Day and busy. There was a table free inside. However, it took 15 minutes before we were served; the table next to us on both sides took longer 🤔 eventually we were served when things went faster. You really have to wave to the staff before they come (usually during the Sinterklaas parade I do this with my little boy waving). The food is good and, in itself, the price is good considering what you get. But the fact that a Heineken 0.0 costs 7 euros is really out of step with the rest. Actually ridiculous. That coffee and Rivella are around 4 euros is already pricey. But a 0.0 for 7 euros.... I don't mind prices rising, but then I bought 2 and paid 14 euros for 2 pieces; you don't pay this even at a concert. Would come back? For the food yes, but because of the drinks and the service I doubt it. Lake House looks neat otherwise.

Nice spot in the Bergsebos for lunch, dinner, or just a drink; good service and friendly staff. The food was good, and the portions were quite substantial. The little ones can also play in the playground right away, so it is a nice location for families with small children as well.

Very nice location with plenty of parking spots and wonderful lake view. Amazing outside sittings on the lake side on a sunny day. They have variety of drinks and food menu is not so detailed but still can find something to eat. A little pricey but is a classy place. You can find a table without reservations on most days. The music was nice but a bit loud.

Beautiful located at the lake (obviously) with a nice terrace, modern inside and small but fun playground. Lunch was very good, modern styled and very tasty. You don't feel rushed here, but on the other hand is waiting for 20 minutes for the bill just slow.

Others' reviews are relatable and didn't help at all regarding the slow service. The beautiful location made us decide to eat there. Trendy lounge music that borders on annoying. Beautiful view over the water. Wooded surroundings. However.... our drinks arrived after about fifteen minutes, our starter after well over half an hour, and our main course after nearly an hour and a half, after I had asked where the food was. The staff was otherwise friendly, but if I get irritated about where your food is, then you are doing something wrong, especially when it is barely busy. And from what I've read, this is a structural problem that the beautiful surroundings cannot make up for.

High tea for a baby shower. The quality and what you get for the price (Eur 32.50 pp) is simply unacceptable. The photo shows what was served at once and is intended for 4 people. So after half an hour to 45 minutes, it was all gone. 1 cream puff for 4 people, how is that even possible?? The rolls are very small, which isn't a problem if there is something else, but that was it... beautiful location, though.

We ate here recently. The location is nice, but unfortunately, our experience was somewhat mixed. The prices are on the high side in relation to the dishes. For instance, the poke bowl disappointed us in terms of taste and simplicity. Additionally, the music at the playground was quite loud, which made it a bit unsettling to sit quietly. It also sometimes took a while before we were served, and we were not often asked if we wanted to order anything else. All in all, it was not a place we would be returning to anytime soon.

The location itself was perfect, but the service was not good. We reserved lunch for 8 people via the website. The reservation stated that we could have lunch from 14:30 to 17:30. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant would close at 16:00 due to an event. It is very sloppy that this was not communicated to the people who had already made reservations.

Poor service. We were here today to celebrate our registered partnership with our loved ones. We emailed, received no response, called, and made the reservation anyway. A glass of bubbly and decorations were agreed upon, as well as the number of people. Upon arrival, we were not received properly; “where would you like to sit?” Tables were pushed together, chairs were hastily thrown together, and a balloon with their own logo was quickly inflated…. We did not feel warmly welcomed at all. We wanted to celebrate our wedding here in a few years, but I will not be coming back. Furthermore, the food is decent, but there are better places in Rotterdam (certainly for that price). Edit: 23-03-2026 there has been no contact

I was just at Lakehouse, the weather was beautiful, the terrace was full, but 20 minutes before someone comes to your table seems way too long. So we left again.

Last weekend, after a winter walk, we settled in for a drink and some snacks. We were given a lovely round table where the four of us enjoyed a delicious bock beer and wine, along with some tasty snacks. Always a great spot after a walk through the Bergse Bos forest!

Okay, granted, we were a group of 25 people, and I know that's difficult for a kitchen. But meh, the food was subpar, especially for the price. Despite the excellent cooking, almost everything was cold or lukewarm. And the Netherlands is a country with sauces. And there was hardly any sauce on the plate. The service was very friendly but very slow. Despite the nice decor, the ambiance could have used some music.

Had lunch on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful location. The restaurant was packed and therefore very noisy. The service was efficient and fast. The food was mediocre, and the prices of the drinks (wine) were definitely out of proportion, really overpriced.

Sunday lunch with the family. Several people ordered a glass of wine and we asked which wine they had. When I received the bill, it listed wines at 11.50 per glass. The wine that was mentioned first, and which I also ordered, was 11.50 per glass. Other wines were 10.50 and 9.50. The house wine turned out to cost 7 euros. However, the wait staff did not mention that there was a house wine. Disappointing experience. If you charge such prices, you should at least indicate that there is a house wine and which one it is. Our family will not be coming here again!

Very a very beautiful place where everything is beautiful, pleasant and delicious, a beautiful atmosphere and pleasant company.

We ate here with the family; the kids had a blast playing with the Lego wall! The staff was very friendly and pleasant to interact with. The beef tartare appetizer was delicious and prepared right at your table, a fun experience. The steak main course was cooked exactly as requested. Highly recommended for a wonderful evening.
