A beautiful location and a lovely restaurant with a stunning view! The service was a bit slow at times. The lunch itself was tasty, but sparsely presented and filled, and the bread was difficult to cut (tough crusts or dull knives?). The side dishes were delicious! A fun detail: the cookie with the coffee had its own logo.

It's a beautifully decorated, pleasant, clean, and tidy place. The view is beautiful, and the drinks and service are top-quality.

Beautiful location, right in the heart of the Bergse Bos forest! We had a delicious meal for a great price and were able to sit outside. The sun was also very nice, which was also a bonus. Definitely recommended, and we'll be back!

Today we dined with 12 people. The location is truly fantastic, right on the water and with a playground. A lovely terrace in the sun. The menu is also good, but the service is poor. The food was served in batches, and it took fifteen minutes to be served. As a result, the croquettes were cold, so people started eating while others were still waiting. We ordered a vegetarian club sandwich and sent it back twice due to the unimaginative chef in the kitchen. So we ordered the vegetarian croquettes. This was eventually resolved well; neither the croquettes nor the club sandwich were on the bill. In short, Lakehouse is a fantastic place, but there's still work to be done in terms of staff and kitchen.

Had a perfect lunch for 4 yesterday. The 4-course menu of the day was delicious and unique. The dishes were perfectly coordinated, and the timing was excellent. We sat for 2.5 hours. Fantastic.

This was my second time at Lake House. The atmosphere is great, and the service is excellent. I was served by Jay, who makes the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

My partner and I had marked this restaurant as a favorite. Unfortunately, it ended up on our no-go list. The service was far too slow. We tried several times, but it consistently took 20 to 30 minutes for someone to come when we were seated. As a restaurant guest, you expect to be treated well, but it felt like we were just air. This restaurant is losing a lot of revenue because of this. We would have ordered more otherwise, and that's probably true for other guests as well. Furthermore, the prices for some items are very high. That's fine, but with such a price comes fast service and a good investment in sufficient staff.

The food is good, the drink same. The view on the lake is amazing. Free parking is definitely a plus in a city where you have to pay 10 euro to park your car in the city center. The young waitresses and waiters are not really reactive, but the manager tries to watch them. A nice place where I have been already few times.

A lovely terrace with a beautiful view. A kind of beach vibe, relaxed atmosphere, and good music. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, there were a lot of wasps during the day, but they can't do anything about that. They give you a spray can of water for the wasps. You can also sit inside. It's also fun for kids; they have a playground.

I've been here twice, and the food tastes good, but you get a lot less for the price. Last time I had lunch and had a quartet of fish, a mini soup, a shrimp, a bit of salmon, and some tuna salad with three micro sandwiches. The flavors were fine, but I see other plates with much more for less. I'd just added more bread, and it would have been a completely different experience. And I added different shrimp, but one was enough. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly.

After almost two years, I went back with six people, and the price-quality ratio is still poor. Paying €42.50 for a plain tournedos without any sauce is a bit steep, and it was a bit tasteless. I also ordered corn-fed chicken, which I'm used to seeing very colorful chicken, not nearly white. The corn was served separately, which made it a rather tasteless meal. Definitely not a recommendation to dine there again, despite the lovely location.

In one of the most beautiful spots in the woods, by the water, it's a bit on the higher end, but worth the price. Lovely crowd, great atmosphere, fast, friendly service, and a wide variety of seating options. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, it was a very unpleasant experience. My girlfriend got married last year and had her party here. We thought it was incredibly well organized, and the food was delicious. So we invited a few friends to the Lake House for dinner with us. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, which was nice. There were six of us. My girlfriend and I ordered a Pornstar Martini. It was really bad, didn't taste good, and there was no foam on it. I reported this to the staff at the bedside, and finally, after half an hour of complaining three times, we did get two new Pornstar Martinis. Fortunately, these were good and weren't added to the bill. My husband had a broken beer glass twice. We reported this as well, and of course, we did get a new glass. Then my girlfriend also had a broken glass with her iced tea. We reported this again, and she also received a new glass. Two people ordered Chateaubriand, which was perfectly fine. Three others ordered Surf and Turf. The meat was cold for all three. We reported this to the staff again, and after they had carefully examined it, it turned out to be cold. It was taken to the kitchen and either microwaved or oven-baked for a minute. Afterward, all three received the same plate back, but it was still lukewarm. This is really unacceptable! After complaining openly, it wasn't even taken off the bill. It's a shame.

Last week we had a birthday dinner with 12 people. The music inside is too loud; raising your voice during dinner isn't pleasant. Do the staff/owners listen to the music themselves? A tip would be to ask the customers how they experience the volume. The food is excellent, portions, etc., are okay, but the price/quality ratio is a bit off, in other words, a bit overpriced. What struck me was the truly ridiculous pricing of a beer...even the "special" ones. Come on, people, 13 euros for a half-liter of scumkoppe 😞 😞. That beer isn't that special after all!!! The location is atmospheric and okay, and the staff... well... friendly (when they see you) but not really trained in hospitality... serving soup without a spoon... just not acceptable! All in all, a barely passable rating for the Lake House.

What a warm welcome! We had made reservations for a birthday party, and despite being a large group of children, the staff were very helpful. The food was delicious, too! We'll definitely be back! The waiter even sang along sweetly.

What a wonderful place to be. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly people who greet you kindly, and activities for the little ones both inside and outside.

We’ve been here twice; once for dinner a la carte and more recently for the mossel mania. The food itself is good enough. The price you pay for it makes it seem like they’re aiming to be fine dining, but in reality the quality is more at the level of a nice lunch place. So the price-quality ratio is off. The service on the other hand was astonishingly bad the second time we were there. At some point we started wondering if they were ignoring us on purpose because we made eye contact and gestures several times to catch their attention, we even called out to one of them as she walked by our table but she kept walking. The fact that they did serve the other tables around us but not us made us feel very embarrassed. We wanted to leave as soon as possible. On the plus side, the location is magnificent. The views are great! The terrace is very spacious and comfortable. Do keep in mind that people are allowed to smoke on the terrace if you’re sensitive to that. All in all, there are many more nice(r) places in Rotterdam and no reason to come back. We wouldn’t recommend this place to our friends either.

Never been served so poorly. I've eaten almost everywhere in my life, from brasseries to three-star Michelin restaurants. This restaurant is in a top spot, but that's about it. Please find another place to eat. It's overpriced, and you wait 45 minutes for a bottle of water. The waiter drops your food, and then it takes ages to get another one. I had high expectations based on the photos on the website, but the staff has no idea what they're doing. And then I pay €180 for a starter and main course. Never go there. Find a local place. You'll be better off. You wouldn't wish this on your mother-in-law.

Way too overpriced. You're really paying for the space. A salad for 20 euros that's not even worth 5 euros is way too much.

The place is great, the atmosphere and decor are completely contemporary. The service is young, cheerful, and professional. But paying €19.50 for a sliced tomato with a burrata ball and one thin slice of toast is truly outrageous. This dish takes two minutes to make, which anyone can do. No oven or frying pan is involved.

We hebben hier goed gegeten. Ruime menukeus. Smakelijke en smaakvol geserveerde gerechten. Attent personeel. De optie op de website voor een 2-gangen menu (met keuze uit de menukaart) voor € 38 ontbrak in het restaurant. Een 3-gangen menu kost € 55. Dat is overigens niet echt goedkoop: enkelen in ons gezelschap bestelden 3 gangen, maar als losse gerechten bleek dat goedkoper dan € 55. Omdat er in en naast het pand ook een groot feest was, was het parkeerterrein overvol; even verderop is gelukkig nog een tweede parkeerterrein.

Had dinner here tonight with my family what a disappointment!! after a long wait our order was taken then after another 1.5 hours of waiting our starter finally arrived and it was also wrong. Well you guessed it the main course was also incomplete missing fries and was already partly cold. You can normally expect something from the Lake House especially if you throw a lot of money at it.🤨☹️ Thanks for ruining our evening!!

Cozy and atmospheric on the water.

Lokatie is prachtig maar dat is het enige positieve. Bedienend personeel vriendelijk maar mist opleiding/begeleiding maar up selling is erin gepeperd. Werkelijk niet normaal. Je vraagt een glas wijn en ze stellen een fles voor! De geserveerde gerechten werkelijk smaakloos en aan extreem hoge prijs. De borden zijn half vol afgeruimd. Daar moet je je toch vragen bij stellen. Daarbij verwacht ik in een restaurant met pretenties geen kartonnen bakjes maar schaaltjes. Het is geen snackbar! Voor ons geen volgende keer.

Wednesday evening 18:00 and the tuna is gone, the card is handed out without that message. Why would you say so? And go get it, Schmidt is not far, but make sure that the most popular item on the menu (sushi/sashimi/yellowfin) is simply in stock. Then chocolate heaven of white chocolate of questionable ready-made Sligro quality and much too cold. Ceasar salad with a whole head of iceberg lettuce to compensate for the mediocre quantity of the rest. 7 shrimp spring rolls straight from the freezer in the fryer without sauce for 20 euros is real theft. Gambero Rosso much too bland in taste. Almost nobody inside, terrace busy but not full and still a hole in the kitchen. High ambition level, much too much convenience so price/quality below par. Service friendly but otherwise: a pity.

We live not far away from the Bergse Bos and decided to go there for a walk with our dog. Seeing the restaurant we spontaneously stopped for a drink and were delighted that we got a table close to the water. This is a lovely location and the food looked amazing too. Service does take a bit longer (as mentioned in some of the reviews here) but the staff is friendly. We just had a drink and some nachos which were delicious. We will definitely be back here for a meal - the inside looked very nice too.

When you arrive there is no one to speak to you, when we sat at the table no one came to ask if we wanted something to drink. We had to look for someone who could help us. Nice guy who helped us. Sandwich carpaccio and Quattro of fish, the latter was very tasty but neither worth the money. Both fall under sandwich but very minimal. After I made a comment about that he apologized. He has often heard that the prices are way too high and not worth it. Unfortunately this is the last time we have been here. More than €50

What a great location to have lunch and chat. Magician at the table showed some tricks. Friendly, knowledgeable and service-oriented staff.

Verschrikkelijke tent, personeel zonder enige ervaring ( oa wijn op tafel zonder koeler, geen wisseling van glas bij het uitschenken van een andere wijn)plastic stoelen op het terras, extreem dure kaart, sushi en sashimi plateau voor 110 euro, met gerookte zalm?? Serieus?? Te smerige sushi met mango en een uitgedroogde homp wasabi. Echt weg blijven daar. Waardeloos is het.

A very nice experience! The service was top - the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. You really felt welcome from the first moment. Everything was well taken care of and the team was always ready to help. Definitely recommended!

Went there for just a drink. The cost of a single 0% radler was 6 euros. Pretty ridiculous. Overall felt like a glossy place where money talks, but nothing is real.

Nice restaurant But the service takes so long time

It's a nice place by a beautiful lake! The atmosphere, food and location is good. However the service staff could be more attentive and present. I had to wait a long time to order food, and that was when the waiter came outside to collect all the menues from the tables because it was windy. And without asking if I wanted something, collected the menu from my table too! And the restaurant wasn't was pretty empty in that time too, so I can't blame it on rush hour or if they might have forgotten I was there.

Recently celebrated my 30th birthday at Lake House. Everything was arranged with Demi in reasonable time. This went very smoothly and all agreements were fulfilled. The staff at the location made it perfect. Extremely friendly and always with a smile. The location is beautiful and the facilities are above expectations.

That's fine, but for the money you can pay you can expect something. I think a flat iron steak consisting of 3 thin slices of meat (okay, with a good taste and good cooking), a layer of mashed potatoes with an artichoke on top for €35, an additional too-thin pepper sauce with a stray peppercorn for €3.50 and a small cardboard container of fries for €6, is completely out of proportion. The Tom Kha Kai was good on the other hand. Service is nice but you can wait a very long time before your order arrives. Also when ordering your next drink. But hey, no rush. All this is unfortunate but it can happen. But what really bothers me is when I get really bottled up when it comes to wine A "not difficult" Domaine Saint Felix Rouge for which I could pay €6.50 per glass or €31.00 per bottle, but I think this bottle sells for less than €8.00, which is really an abuse of the situation. It's a shame that price, quality and quantity differ so widely. So for me it's a "Been there, done that!".

We reserved a 3-course menu via the Douglas dinner check and I informed the host/manager of this upon arrival. He was not aware of this and indicated that these checks are not accepted, even though I had received confirmation of the reservation. After we placed our order, we had to wait more than an hour for our food. In the meantime, there has been no concern and I had to raise this myself. The servant had indicated that the food would arrive ASAP. This resulted in a risotto that was not fully cooked and the sushi that was not quite right either. The wrong mayonnaise was also served. We then only received an apology from the clerk, who did try to think along with us, and only had free tea as compensation. When leaving the restaurant we walked past both the kitchen staff and the cash register, but no goodbyes, no apologies were offered or we had a nice evening. This was the last time I eat here. All in all, a bad experience and far below par in terms of price/quality ratio.

Top wedding location as a guest. Had several weddings here, perfect place to participate in a ceremony, dinner and a party. The location staff is very nice, neat and helpful. Make sure everything is right, such as no empty chairs during the ceremony, removing glasses, you name it (as it should be). When the weather is nice (or less), the tent/canvas is a great place. Later in the day/evening there are heaters under the parasols. Dinner is always amazingly delicious. Allergies or dietary requirements (or pregnancy) are handled very carefully! In short, a great place and you will enjoy coming to this place.

Ik had graag 5 sterren gegeven. Ik hou van de goede service, de mooie uitstraling van het restaurant en terras, het lekkere eten.... Maar ook hier zijn de prijzen zo fors gestegen dat je je afvraagt waar het stopt. Nou hier dus. Based on their insta I made a reservation here for steakmania for my son's birthday. There was no table ready. Finally got a table that was not cleaned. We ordered steak but had to wait 40-50 minutes each time for the next round. No steady hand when it comes to steak. Little taste. This indicated that hunting sauce was offered. That would cost 15 euros. They charge very special prices here. It seems like a nice place to have a drink outside, but we don't have dinner or celebrate a birthday here anymore

Beautiful and unique place. Wonderful atmosphere. Lounging in the sun after a walk in nature is great! Staff is always friendly and pleasant. The food and cocktails are also great! The only thing less is the prices, which have risen considerably. A cocktail for 15 euros, yes, but a simple glass of wine for 8.50? This is not necessary and you should not expect to see it on the receipt. 100 euros for a drink with 2 people. Continued enjoyment!

Helaas heb ik een slechte ervaring bij Lake House. En gelezen de andere reviews is dat helaas geen uitzondering. Te weinig personeel of een te groot terras? Ter illustratie: koude bitterballen na 30 minuten wachten, tafels die zeker een uur vol met vieze vaat blijven staan en bedienend personeel dat ondertussen uitgebreid staat te socializen bij zijn bekenden. En uiteindelijk heb ik zelf voor zeker 20 minuten moeite moeten doen om fatsoenlijk te kunnen betalen als je weg wilt/moet omdat het bedtijd nadert voor onze dochter. Pas na enig aandringen volgt er een mager excuus van de host, die eigenlijk niet van plan was voor ons af te rekenen. De volgende keer sla ik dus over.

First week of sun in The Netherlands, but staffing was very poor. Took 30 minutes for us to receive bitterballen, which were cold. We did receive new bitterballen, but no apology. We drank very nice wines, but then when we wanted to leave we had to wait for 20 minutes to find staff to pay. When telling this during payment, staff didn’t seem to care or offered anything in return. We will not be back anytime soon. First sun is always difficult, but staff just didnt seem to care that we didn’t have the best time.

First experience not the best experience, upon entering there was no reception and with some difficulty we received attention from the staff behind the bar for our reservation. The terrace was full because the weather was beautiful, so there was not much attention for us who had to sit inside. The staff we dealt with were friendly. The food was not very hot, so at some point you end up eating lukewarm versus cold food. Coffee was put on the table so loudly that it spilled over the edge onto the saucer and since the cups do not have handles, you sit with your hands in the coffee. The music inside was a bit too loud, I was very happy when I stood outside again and experienced peace. The table was also not completely clean, there were still crumbs on it. Unfortunately, the price of the food was not in proportion to our experience. There will be a lot of new money and I think we know us, I didn't feel comfortable here at all and they won't see us here again.

I would go there mainly for the atmosphere... Plenty of food. Service also excellent. 4 stars for the service and atmosphere. 3 stars for the food. Rounded up I get 4 stars..

Delicious breakfast in a cozy place on the water.

We were warmly welcomed and given a nice table with a view over the water. I think the place itself looks very nice and has a lot of atmosphere. However, we had to wait a long time before our first drink was taken (just over 15 minutes) while tables next to us were seated later but were immediately asked what they wanted to drink and given a menu card that we had to hunt for ourselves. Once we ordered the food we didn't have to wait long for it and it was very nicely prepared. I had a steak sandwich with the lake house fizz cocktail and the pornstar martini dessert for dessert All in all, a good experience that I definitely want to come back to because the dishes on the rest of the menu also sounded very tasty and there is a nice walking area all around.

We enjoyed a pleasant outside setting with good food. Children enjoyed the playground during the meal. The DJ played music everyone could hear everywhere even over the water.

Spontaan en sfeervol op eerste kerstdag Toen we op eerste kerstdag spontaan bij Lake House aankwamen, werden we gastvrij ontvangen, ondanks de drukte. Het was een fijne verrassing dat er nog een plekje gecreëerd kon worden. Een leuk detail: we werden zelfs herkend van een bezoek een jaar eerder. We begonnen met een lekkere wijn die goed werd aangeraden door de bediening. De steak tartaar was vers, smaakvol en mooi gepresenteerd. Alles verliep ontspannen en voelde warm en ongedwongen, precies wat we hoopten voor een kerstdag zonder plannen. Een fijne ervaring waar we met plezier op terugkijken.

How do they dare to serve a salad “with” shrimp like that? Head of lettuce (€ 1) 3 shrimps (€ 2) 3 very thin strings of anchovies (€ 0.50) handful of croutons (€ 0.29)….and that for “only” € 23.00? Including drinks, the two of us spent €55.00 on this embarrassing pile of lettuce???. You must have courage! Never again to this stingy food shed!

The hospitality was exceptional – the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcome throughout the evening. As for the food, it was delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish was crafted with care, and the flavors were on point. It complemented the overall experience perfectly. If you're looking for a cosy and festive place to dine this holiday season, Lake House is a must-visit. I’m already planning my next trip!

Beautiful place, great service, but price-quality is completely out of proportion. A large drinks 'plank' (3 plates on top of each other) for 54 euros really didn't make sense. There was really nothing special on it, not even cheese and very little of anything. Cup of tea or coffee almost 5 euros. Tournedos was very mediocre, already served cut into 2 places. Desserts for adults are large portions, but a children's ice cream straight from the freezer is also exorbitantly expensive. Nice place but prices really don't make sense. The menu is an advertising book that you have to fumble through, it seems very cheap with advertisements about all kinds of things. Atmosphere and ambiance are really good, also for children. Paying 440 euros with 4 adults and 1 child was not okay. And the music... that was really nothing. Kind of like not house beat all the time. The atmosphere is more inviting for good jazz or soul.

Overrated, in my opinion. Food is not bad, but certainly not so special that it justifies the prices. Service is disinterested and not super friendly or fast, everything could really be improved. The location is of course nice, and all of Hillegersberg with new money hangs around there. You have to be able to handle it, so to speak.

Today we celebrated our son's baptism, what a great restaurant! What a wonderful experience that was, good service, communication and friendliness. My guests enjoyed it. We will definitely be back, thank you for everything Lake House made this day so special.

Top location! The vegetarian menu could also be better in terms of taste. The staff is terrible. For that reason alone we won't be back. They are noisy from the kitchen, make inappropriate jokes at each other and swear with “K” in front of us with children.

Unfortunately a disappointing visit. The space where dogs are allowed was rented from time x. But among the boxes and misery I was allowed to have a quick coffee (I felt like having lunch). Unfortunately this only became apparent after I got inside. Very cozy and hospitable. Not. Why use this section and not another? And why no immediate announcement? Bah!

I would highly recommend going here for a meal. Beautiful location and interior, with free parking near Rotterdam! The staff is friendly and quick in attending to your needs. Rene and his team did their best to give a personal touch and bond with the guests. They have food for everyone including vegetarian and vegan meals. They even prepared the stake tarter at the table and made it a show. Good place to go with friends, family or on a business occasion! Definitely go here when in the neighbourhood or make a reservation.

Patat aanbevelen voor veel geld bij verassingsmenu terwijl er al aardappelgratin wordt geserveerd dus dubbel op. De eend was te droog. De rekening was absoluut niet in verhouding tot de kwaliteit.

Normally always a place where you can go for business. But today? Absent staff, meager sandwich with wasted salad, weak coffee, a truly breathtaking smell in the toilet, rounded off with a downright expensive bill. Upon departure we indicated that we were not impressed, much further than "sorry, what a shame". Indeed, a shame Lake House.

Food, service, location, view, playground (kids)… all were great 😊 had fun and enjoyed the time spent.

Nice location. It was busy when I was there. The young boys were very insecure, our guests had to place their orders up to 4 times. It only went well when the boss took the order. Food was also mixed up and wrong, this was again due to the young service who did not know what to do with the group and the English language. There is certainly a lot of improvement there. Beautiful place, inside and out. The food was good too.

Always satisfied with the atmosphere, location, food and service... only 2 stars because this week I felt like a bit of a vulture from a price point of view, although I am certainly not. We had 1 coffee (regular coffee, no fancy stuff), 1 tea and 1 apple juice for the little one... less than half an hour in because we went for a nice walk and paid at 6.30... unfortunately LakeHouse you are really pricing yourself out of the market Like this…

Nice place, nice help but sorry 11 euros for 2 chocolate milk with a little whipped cream... we won't do that anymore.

Lokatie is top, bediening was oké. Maar prijs/ kwaliteit erg slecht, veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. De club sandwich was denk ik al een tijdje bewaard in de koelkast, taai, ronduit slecht. Nee, ik zal er niet meer heengaan, ondanks de mooie lokatie!

Tasty, fun and excellent quality

Amazing place to relax and eat almost all hours of the day. In the summer its even better but its always nice to visit. We visited during mussel mania and sushi mania and both times it was more than worth it. Very tasty dishes and good service and environment. Stake was perfectly cooked as well, cocktails very tasty.
