We had a delicious meal... we stumbled upon 't Zeeltje by chance after a bike ride... and have eaten there several times now. Always friendly and happy to help! Super tasty food and a great terrace with a view!

It's a shame you weren't allowed to choose your own menu for more than 10 people.

Great place in a nice spot near the Rottemeren. An area where you can enjoy lovely walks and really relax. We had a delicious lunch here. The lunch menu offers a wide selection: rolls, sandwiches, salads, and pancakes in various shapes and sizes. But also dishes like a tasty hamburger with fries. The staff was also friendly and nice. It is easily accessible by bike, and there is parking nearby. Do note, however, that the kitchen only opens for lunch at 12:00!

The best restaurant on the Rottemeren lakes. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and my mother, in particular, always feels welcome (and everyone, of course, but that just makes me happy).

I already knew that the customer isn't king anymore. But being kicked out of a place without any explanation, purely because you criticize the grumpy and aggressive attitude of a waitress (who, it turned out, was actually the manager), has never happened to me in 45 years of going out. We have eaten here several times and the food was always delicious, with friendly service. Unfortunately, that came to an abrupt end yesterday afternoon. When I saw that the drinks menu was no longer in the card holder, I asked the waitress if she could bring a new one. She looked into the card holder with a very grumpy face, and when I indicated that I had already looked there, I immediately received a snap. Later, when she came back and I asked if she could be a bit friendlier, she became even angrier — her face looked about to explode — after which she walked away like a spoiled child. When I subsequently asked another waitress if I could speak to a manager, the same woman stormed up to me. With her hands on her hips, she announced, in a childish tone, that she was the owner. Without saying a word, the bill was slammed on the table. At that moment, I decided to be the wiser one and leave. Afterwards, I read more negative reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, so unfortunately, it ultimately didn't come as a surprise. It's a shame that the entire place is now getting a negative review because of the behavior of one spoiled person.

Nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat, but it would be really nice if there were also tasty gluten-free sandwich options on the menu. I was there recently (hungry) and I could actually order almost nothing to eat, which made me very sad. Tip: Buy some tasty gluten-free bake-at-home rolls (Odenwald Bakery) to put in the freezer. Then you can also make people with celiac disease very happy with a tasty sandwich!

We had a delicious meal and it was very well priced. Friendly service. We had our small dogs with us and that was no problem either.

Located a bit hidden in the woods near Bleiswijk. Lunch with sister and brother-in-law, very good, friendly service, ample parking.

Without asking for the price we took the "vangst of de dag", which was fish and chips. Turned out to be EUR 30, which I think was way, way overpriced..

As a Bleiswijk resident, there is nothing can beat a beautiful sunny day, walking in the woods and ended up with a couple of drinks here next to the lovely lawn with a lake and cute creatures at the back of the scene.

What a lovely terrace! Beautiful view, and it's nice that walkers pass by. Good parking, including in the shade when it's hot. Easily accessible even if you have some difficulty walking. Parasols available in warm weather and with little wind. Two terraces, something for everyone. Super motivated staff, attentive, observant, cheerful, and helpful. Had a delicious meal, with a nicely filled salad. Extra compliments to the good staff; you should be very proud of them. Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back.

Lovely terrace in beautiful surroundings

Unfortunately, most tables were reserved, yet no customers showed up in the hour and a half we were there. Except for one couple, and they wanted to sit inside. The perfect way to scare customers away! Additionally, the lunch was disappointingly meager; we are really used to better here!

It is a lovely location. But the staff is really unfriendly. Not all of them, mind you, but half of them are, and this sets the tone. It is a shame because this is unnecessary. It is certainly not cheap, so a little friendliness would be appropriate. They really still need to learn here that the tone makes the music. Unfortunately, we will not be returning because of this.

NOT SUITABLE FOR LARGE GROUPS! Reserved on Easter Monday for a group of 11 adults and 5 children. Stress was clearly noticeable. Received an unfriendly welcome. VERY BAD: only found out upon arrival that we could only choose from 4 types of sandwiches, nothing suitable for children! Wanted to order fries, had to ask first. 4 portions were possible. Isn't it strange that you can't get what you want? After 2 children ran to the toilet while waiting, we were immediately warned that they were not allowed to run through the restaurant or get in the way and had to stay at the table as much as possible. I understand that it was busy, but you could also just wait and see; tables were reserved but it wasn't packed yet, and there were still tables available when we left. A shame, because everything went fine. It was just that we were left with an unwelcome feeling. The children didn't enjoy their meal. We also couldn't order (extra) what we wanted. Maybe next time just reserve 4 separate tables for 4 people. Or actually, I don't think there will be a next time. If I were you, I would just say right away from now on that large groups are not possible.

We recently had lunch at your restaurant with a group of 16 people. Unfortunately, we look back on this with a less positive experience. When making the reservation, we already noticed that there was little flexibility possible, which we could understand given the group size. However, upon arrival, the service disappointed us. For instance, it proved difficult to exchange two high chairs for regular chairs, which seemed like a small and logical adjustment to us. Additionally, we were only informed at the table that we could only choose from four dishes on the menu. This came as a surprise to us and felt restrictive, especially since this was not clearly communicated beforehand. For the children, this meant they were limited to the only child-friendly dish, the croquettes, which unfortunately did not go down well. We also found the approach during the serving not very hospitable. For instance, it was immediately stated that children were not allowed to walk around, even though the location borders a lawn with a playground. That felt somewhat contradictory and uninviting to us. What we missed most was a warm welcome and a friendly, helpful attitude. Especially when you come for lunch with a large family—something that does not happen often—you hope for a pleasant and welcoming experience. Additionally, we noticed that other guests around us were able to choose freely from the menu. Combined with the limited flexibility regarding arrival time and the limited menu for our group, this made us feel less welcome. If this had been clear beforehand, we probably would have made a different choice. We hope that this feedback helps to improve the experience for future guests.

Yesterday, we had lunch at restaurant T Zeeltje to celebrate my birthday. We had deliberately chosen this place because it has a mini-golf course, as we were with three boys aged 3–6 who had been looking forward to it for days. After dinner, one of the boys walked ahead to the course and asked for a club and a ball. The staff indicated that children were not allowed on the course without an adult and that running was not permitted. That is, of course, understandable. We immediately called the boys inside, and an adult subsequently went outside with them. When this adult asked for clubs and a ball, it was suddenly announced that mini-golf was no longer possible. Shortly thereafter, an employee walked outside to lock the gate to the course. While doing so, an audible remark was also made to colleagues, which struck us as quite uncomfortable and not very hospitable. What disappointed us most was the way this was handled. No explanation or apology was given, and the staff's attitude came across as quite unfriendly and annoyed. We found that disappointing, especially since the children had been looking forward to it so much, and this was precisely the reason we had chosen this restaurant for my birthday lunch. The food was otherwise fine, and despite this moment, we had a pleasant afternoon. That is precisely why it is particularly unfortunate that the service and customer friendliness were so disappointing in this regard.

Friendly staff, but that's about it. The food is way too expensive for what you get. And the conservatory is incredibly noisy. We popped in for lunch after a relaxing walk, and I left with a headache.

Always (whenever we're there) a delicious lunch with fresh juice. Coffee and a shared pastry. It was a real treat.

The food was great, but the staff in the lobby were angry and unfriendly. One of the employees yelled at an elderly man over 80 and even went so far as to make mocking gestures at the customers. We should love and respect each other. I would never go back there.

A nice place where we regularly go, usually for lunch. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff was strict but friendly. A passing cyclist entered the restaurant the wrong way and was reminded of the rules by the staff. We always receive courteous service, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. UPDATE 2025: I still think it's a great place. The food is good and the price-quality ratio is excellent. We received friendly service again this time, even without a reservation. That is certainly appreciated.

Beautiful location and view. Unfortunately, only one vegetarian option for the starter and main course; let alone anything vegan. And if those vegetarian options contain exactly the ingredients you absolutely can't have or don't like, tough luck... While in my experience, chefs often find it challenging to create something the customer does like and/or wants. Three ⭐️ for the service, though, because the serving staff do their best and are very friendly. It's also a shame that the menu, on every page, explicitly states that there will be NO deviations from the menu.

This is without a doubt the most customer-unfriendly company I've ever encountered. I've been here four times now, and each time it's been a bad experience. Today, with 30 degrees Celsius, we called ahead. Reservations weren't possible, but the staff at the restaurant said they had plenty of room inside. The fact that someone doesn't realize that people actually want to sit outside in this weather speaks volumes. Every time, there's something wrong with the attitude and service here. Today, they were even literally asked why we were even here—as if you, as a customer, have to justify your return. That speaks volumes about the way they treat customers. We've given this company several chances, but now it's over. They're genuinely missing a regular customer. It's a shame the business is doing well, because normally, I wholeheartedly wish people success—but definitely not this company.

Great location, unfortunately not quite on the Rotte River, but despite that, it's a wonderful place with good food and excellent service. Apparently, it's well-known, as you do need to make a reservation to sit outside in nice weather, which I understand. In short, it's recommended to go there deliberately or spontaneously, for example, during your bike ride.

My boyfriend and I came here to have a drink. A week later we returned and we had a nice walk in the woods. Personnel is regular friendly and the food was definitely not bad for the price. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time. And as typical Dutch: we finished with a cup of coffee.

You'll be greeted at the entrance and seated at a table. The service is very friendly and efficient, and they keep an eye on the customers even after serving. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, and there's a lovely view of the park and water feature (in the distance). There's some playground equipment on the lawn in front of the terrace.

Just been to Zeeltje. We were completely ignored. No greeting. The waitress must have seen us. She went to clear our table. Okay, that's possible. Then she went to other guests who arrived much later. Apparently, they were regulars. After waiting another fifteen minutes, we left. Very strange?? Even though it wasn't busy at all??? We had good, fast, and friendly service at another restaurant before, and it was much busier there. So, it's possible!

What a lovely restaurant this is, with a beautiful view. Combined with delicious food and super motivated and skilled staff, we had a wonderful evening with you... We'll definitely do this again.

‘T Zeeltje has always remained Zeeltje apparently. Years ago I came here to my satisfaction. They are still very good and very affordable. Also very cozy decorated.

We come here every year, always good food! We have a daughter with autism, and shortened leg muscles which makes her stamp a bit when she walks on the wooden floor. Not the staff who helped us at the table but from another table found it necessary to talk about our daughter to other colleagues that our daughter was annoying, she was addressed by another colleague... we heard that she was annoying and another colleague said that she wanted to hit her. It ruined the atmosphere at that moment and the family immediately never wanted to eat here again. (It later turned out that she did not want to hit our daughter, but the colleague who made the comment about our daughter) Too bad the food is good, the girl who helped us super friendly and sweet. And she may find our daughter annoying but make sure that we as customers do not notice it. And it was a one-time thing that she did, she copied someone from the family because we asked her to do so... it's not like she was constantly running through the place, we find this inappropriate ourselves, you have to take other customers into account. Too bad we got it, but the colleague in question is gone, we won't come back. The stars we give the food and the service are certainly for the chef and the girl who helped us at the table, the atmosphere a zero because of the incident. We were with 9 people and don't drink alcohol, we came to eat at 5 o'clock... not in an overcrowded place.

What a nice place. Hospitable staff, fast service and nice ambiance. Enough places in the shade. My omelette was also delicious.

Today we had a lovely walk with my girlfriend and my dog. We felt like having a drink on the terrace. We found a place to sit, gave the dog my own bowl of water and chew bone, and of course he was on a leash so he couldn't go anywhere. It took a while before the service arrived, but eventually a young lady came and told us that we had to leave the terrace because of the wet dog. Seriously, the dog was already half dried up and couldn't get to anyone. What a terribly animal-unfriendly shop this is. So beautifully situated, great for walkers and dogs. Ridiculous that they have this policy. You can expect that from a restaurant with stars.

Nice to have lunch. The lunch was delicious and the staff was friendly and fast. The only disadvantage I find is that animals are allowed in the restaurant. I personally find this unhygienic and for people with an allergy this is also not pleasant. I do not have this myself but I can imagine that people consider not going in.

Generally good food. Service was a bit grumpy and curt and very directive. Several tables outside where no reservation was shown, but apparently there was still no space. Reasonable prices. Would not come here again in a hurry. Nice place to walk the dog. Free parking.

Have eaten there twice now (2023 and 2024) and both times I was bothered by the distant and disinterested behavior of the employees. May 13, 2025 again, the atmosphere was much better now! Nice employees, pleasant service. What a difference from previous times!

The spareribs were super tender and deliciously marinated. The staff is super friendly and attentive. And also have the catering humor 👍👍👍 The lady blanch was a bit disappointing. As a tip, I would say put the warm sauce separately in a small jug so that people can determine the amount of sauce themselves instead of having sauce with ice. Keep it up great guys, it's a top tent.

extremely rude to people of colors: I organized a dinner here for my colleagues, visiting from other countries. The waitress really behaved rude with us, especially with me. I have no idea what was wrong with her. She Took a wrong order and instead of apologizing, blamed me that we I didn’t order it properly. Never again, and will make sure none from my company do the same mistake.

Nice place, friendly staff and tasty dishes. The beautiful location makes you forget that you are actually in a dated building. Lots of (walking/sports) people, which gives it a pleasant atmosphere.

Delicious late Sunday lunch on the terrace! We were a group of 7 and 2 dogs and were allowed to push 2 tables together despite the crowds. We were very welcome, a 10 for the service, nice, easy-going ladies, no young puppies that you see almost everywhere nowadays, but ladies with brains and heart for the business. The food was top notch and good value for money, compliments for that. Nowadays you don't often find catering establishments with a 'normal' lunch menu where you actually want to eat everything at once! If you are looking for a nice affordable and hospitable catering place after a walk at the Rottemeren or Zevenhuizerplas, I would definitely go here! Recommended!

You can always have a delicious lunch there. The prices are also attractive, especially for the large portions and quality. It is often a chicken coop in terms of space and number of guests, but good for business of course.

I had dinner here and enjoyed a drink on the terrace after a nice walk with the dog. Mini golf is possible. Nice terrace with fantastic views. If you want to be sure of a table, I would make a reservation. Clean toilets. Back to lunch: delicious curry soup (which could have been a little warmer, but really tasty). Bread roll with fricandeau on delicious brown bread (white is also possible) with a fresh salad. Just a good portion of salad, not a bitch. Was quite busy for a Tuesday. Friendly service who also stops by to ask if everything is to your liking. We will definitely come back... after a nice walk 😋🚶🏼‍♂️‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️🌳

Food is delicious. Service very nice, friendly and alert. We sat in the conservatory and although it was not terribly busy on a Wednesday evening, the noise around us was quite loud. That will have more to do with the acoustics than with the people present.
