Fantastic Dinning Experience from start to finish! All about details! Went to Lars for the vegetarian “Green Lars” menu, had the six courses. They pay a lot of attention to details in my opinion. It starts with the chairs which are not only really comfortable but also have side pockets where you can put your phone and wallet inside so you don’t have to place it on the table. The dishes and pictures speak for themselves, the highlight were surely the gnocchi - sounds boring, but actually a very exciting dish! Lars, who looks like Matthew Mc Conaghy, himself greets all tables personally which is a nice gestures. Super cool dude walking around in Jordan’s! The service is really top shelf! The waiters were constantly making sure the wine glass was never empty. At the same time it was not annoying and there were not “dancing” around the table - great balance. Some highlights: the variety of small pastries and pralines that you are offered at the end when ordering a coffee is a great extra! Furthermore the sourdough breads with almond butter and smoked olive oil was fantastic as well next to the “pre-dessert”. At the end, whilst leaving, you receive a small bottle of water and a sweet treat for your way home. Small gesture but says a lot about the attention to detail. Try it! I will come back again surely as well!

Highly recommended! We had the four-course lunch. The service was very pleasant and knowledgeable, not formal but competent. The dishes were a taste explosion. The location is fantastic, overlooking the North Sea Canal and all its hustle and bustle. It's in our top three.

We don't often dine at restaurants of this caliber, but from the moment we stepped inside Lars's, we felt truly welcome. The warm and personal welcome from Floor and Lars immediately set the tone for the evening. The dinner was exceptional: refined dishes, perfectly balanced and prepared with an eye for detail. The accompanying wines complemented this seamlessly and impressively enhanced the flavors. What made the experience complete was the way everything was explained. Luuk and his colleagues shared the story behind the dishes and wines with obvious passion and knowledge, which elevated the experience to a higher level. Thanks to this combination of hospitality, quality, and personal attention, we had an evening we will remember for a long time. This was more than just a dinner, but a complete experience. We will definitely be back soon.

What an experience! Everything was perfect, the restaurant was beautiful, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the cuisine was excellent, the dishes were beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Let me start with the most important thing: the food is absolutely delicious. It looks stunning, the flavor combinations and any accompanying wines are sublime. The portions are small. You can spend €500 per person here and not leave feeling satisfied. The lobster dish we had was very flavorful, but the natural flavor of the lobster is somewhat lost in everything that's been done with and on top of it. The atmosphere and ambiance are good, with a partly industrial feel without feeling cold. The industrial surroundings of the building ensure that the view doesn't get boring. The decor could have been a bit more consistent. For example, the wood paneling is neat and luxurious, while the wooden acoustic panels on the ceiling look cheap. The service started like a well-oiled machine, but as the evening progressed, things started to go wrong. One dish was forgotten. When the staff realized this and announced it was coming, it was forgotten again. A wine from the dinner menu was forgotten, and after the table was cleared, we were forgotten again. Ultimately, we had to pay quickly, and the bill was corrected. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. Our neighbors also complained that they felt they had to wait far too long for their order for no reason. I find it a shame that in a restaurant with this price tag and a chef with such incredible talent, I ended up leaving the restaurant somewhat irritated. It might be bad luck, but I've never experienced this in a Michelin-starred restaurant before. Nevertheless, I would recommend Lars to anyone who wants to be surprised by the culinary artistry.

We had a fantastic evening at this beautiful restaurant on the IJ River, where everything was perfect. We were referred here through American Express and decided to dine there because of the delicious menu, the Michelin star, and the many positive reviews. Although we live in Amsterdam, we don't often visit this part of the city, which made it even more enjoyable. The welcome was friendly and not too formal, but professional. We appreciate this, especially since we're young, rather than the formality you often see in chic/Michelin restaurants. There's a very relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant ambiance, with very friendly and attentive service who occasionally stop by to share a few things, but mostly let you enjoy the private atmosphere. Every dish was delicious, and the ingredients were clearly explained. Each dish was beautifully presented, inspired by the harvest from the restaurant's own city garden on the roof opposite the restaurant. Tip if you dine here: order the wine pairing. We've had a lot of wine pairings in our lives, but nothing comes close to this one. The flavors of the wines paired perfectly with the dishes; in fact, they complemented them perfectly. The service was excellent, professional, and knowledgeable on all fronts. Special compliments to the friendly dessert chef who came to our table, who seemed to have only been working there for a week, but felt like he'd been there for years. All in all, a fantastic evening, with skilled, professional, and friendly service, not to mention the delicious dishes. You can feel everyone's passion for their craft in everything here.

This restaurant is in my top 3 in Amsterdam! Consistently excellent on every level: a unique view (which is why lunch in daylight is highly recommended!), fantastic food, and exceptionally good and friendly service. Even with tricky questions like the amount of carbohydrates per course for insulin calculations, the sous chef personally answers them. A must-visit!

Wow. Wow. It's absolutely above every expectation I had (and they were high!). They were understaffed and still everything was just perfect. From the food to the decor to the very, very personalized and special customer service. 13/10.

Wow! Everything was perfect here! From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, everything is perfectly arranged. Floor is an amazing hostess who does everything she can to make you feel at ease, and she succeeded! What a wonderful atmosphere. We spent the entire evening sitting outside on the beautiful terrace, which has just the right ambiance for a lovely summer evening. The music is just loud enough, you can hear the water lapping against the dock, all the lights and candles, and the staff is always present, yet not always present. Perfect! We opted for the Chef's Special 6 courses including champagne and wine pairing, and we were completely captivated by Lars and Floor's story. Beautifully presented dishes, each with its own story and completely inspired by the harvest from their own urban garden on the roof opposite the restaurant. Each dish is a work of art, and the flavors are amazing! The chefs themselves come to the table to serve the dishes and explain what makes for the complete experience. The wine pairing was also excellent and carefully selected. Charles Smith's Kung Fu Girl Riesling surprised me, as a huge Riesling fan, and was a real discovery for me. A truly inspiring evening, not only in terms of conversation at the table, but especially because of Lars & Floor's gastronomy and craftsmanship. Thank you so much for that 🙏🏼.

Op uitnodiging van onze drie gratiën bracht onze jaarlijkse gezinslunch ons deze keer naar de Houthavens in Amsterdam. We mochten plaatsnemen op het terras van restaurant Lars. En daar zijn we van een uur of één tot vijf uur vermaakt met de ene lekkernij na de andere en werden we op een geweldige manier geamuseerd en blij gemaakt door onze drie prachtige dochters. Die lieten man en kinderen alleen achter voor hun oude vader en moeder. En daar worden we heel blij van. De brigade van Lars heeft daar vervolgens een heel mooie bijdrage aan geleverd. We starten de middag met een feestelijke prosecco. Vervolgens genoten we een heerlijke Zeeuwse oester. De drie mondvermaakjes die onze smaakpapillen even moesten prikkelen hebben hun werk stuk voor stuk meer dan uitstekend gedaan. Mooi hoog op smaak en toch heerlijk subtiel. We starten de lunch met kingfish die mooi werd begeleid door ingrediënten van de grote daktuin die restaurant Lars gebruikt op het naastliggende gebouw. Dan de agnolotti met kers, rode biet en Franse Chaource kaas. Met als resultaat een smaakervaring die echt nieuw voor ons was. Het hoofdgerecht was een super mals stukje ree met aardbei, pastinaak, vanille en een dennenkegel van Texel. Een zeer fraai gerecht. Om de middag nog wat te rekken besloten we ook een kaasplankje als extra gerecht te nemen. Het dessert van framboos met Thaise basilicum en munt was een meer dan waardige afsluiter. Na nog een kopje koffie met friandises te hebben genuttigd gingen we eind van de middag met een zeer voldaan en tevreden gevoel huiswaarts. Uiteraard werden we gereden door onze dochters. Bedankt voor deze topdag dames en brigade van Lars. Post scriptum: het patatje mayo bij thuiskomst was erg lekker maar niet nodig.

The restaurant is located in hotel Moxy in De Houthavens. The food 🍽️ The food was nothing short of exquisite. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and full of flavor. Also a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The chef took good care about the dietary limitations. The service 👩‍💼👨‍💼👨🏼‍🍳 What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. We were serviced by a lovely lady and a humorous gentleman (a very charming Asian man 🥰😑😳). They paired the menu and wine with enthusiasm, offering recommendations that perfectly complemented our tastes. It was for our moms birthday and they arranged balloons 🎈 and a vase for the flowers. On top of that they offered us many things complimentary ☺️ Price 💷 I found this restaurant via Dining with the stars. The lunch was extremely affordable if you look what we got served. Even without the offer - it would be worth the value as well. Parking 🅿️ You can park under the restaurant, garage Houthaven. You need to follow the PINK parking area which refers to MOXY HOTEL. The restaurant is in the hotel. You get a exit ticket from the restaurant - so it is free. Overall, this Michelin star restaurant exceeded all my expectations. I have been to quite ⭐️ restaurants but this one is now on top of my list.

Als biologisch-vegetarisch groepskok weet ik hoe kwetsbaar je je na uren hard zwoegen kunt voelen voor de kritiek en/of matige waardering van je gasten. Maar toen ik vandaag bij Lars aan de Danzigerkade te Amsterdam ging lunchen en andere gasten hun met zo enorm veel liefde, kwaliteit en creativiteit ontworpen lunch achteloos naar binnen zag werken tussen de gesprekken door, dacht ik: SCHANDE! De man is een kunstenaar. Elk gerecht was een lust voor het oog en een genot voor de smaakpapillen: Lars verwerkt duidelijk een passie en originaliteit in zijn creaties die hun weerga niet kennen. Ik ben geen fijnproever maar ik hou wel van eten en ben er ook behoorlijk kritisch op. Er zijn restaurants met meer sterren waar ik nooit meer wil eten. Maar bij Lars zou ik elke dag willen eten, ik zou me ook nooit vervelen, ook niet vanwege de lieve bediening, de warme ambiance en het heerlijke terras. Als je daar niet een keer hebt gegeten, heb je iets bijzonders gemist in je leven. Ik schrijf zelden reviews, want dat doe ik liever alleen als de hele ervaring perfect is. En deze culinaire verrassing was subliem. Kortom, ga erheen en constateer zelf: Lars verdient niet 1 maar 2 Michelin sterren!

What a night! A huge recommendation if you want a lovely time with amazing food and wine for a very fair price. We had the chef’s special and the exclusive course - it was far better than we had hoped for and definitely worth every penny! The service was impeccable - both waiters were attentive, kind and gave great recommendations for our stay in Amsterdam. We especially recommend and loved the service from the female waiter - it’s very apparent that she is a natural and brilliant server, and she gave us a very special night ♥️ All love from us!

Great evening from start to finish! We went for the Exclusive menu for the full experience. The flavors of the dishes were delicious and we were often surprised by the combinations, such as the scallop with passion fruit and the sweetbread with white chocolate. I also always find the pace between the dishes very important and this could not be better with Lars. In addition, the service is top notch anyway, nothing to complain about!

Alle gerechtjes zijn complete kunstwerken en ook geweldige smaakexplosies. Van de champagne en amuses bij het begin, tot en met het dessert, alles was even heerlijk. Lars restaurant is een echte aanrader, voor een geweldige avond uit.'

Nuestro almuerzo en Lars Amsterdam fue simplemente magnífico y no digo tan a menudo. El escenario era espectacular. Cada plato era delicioso, único, y encima, muchos eran realmente hermosos. El ritmo era excelente. La gente era muy amable y Lars era entrañable vs. judgy cuando intentamos comparar las notas del restaurante Michelin de Barcelona y no podía recordar los nombres del restaurante. Incluso hicieron todo lo posible para hacer un poco más de este pan estilo naan para nosotros que era súper bueno. Mis padres nunca habían comido este tipo de comida antes y pasará a la tradición familiar como una experiencia "mejor de la historia". Gracias Team Lars Amsterdam!

Delicious! Was a beautiful experience. I would come back every day just for the wagyu..! Friendly staff, help each other. No stress visible from the kitchen. Never sat so relaxed in a long time. Really recommended!

First time here, definately worth visiting again. Great dishes with excellent pairing. Flavours and textures on point, will relish our visit for some time. Free parking if you ask, extra goodies if you keep asking. Nearly fully booked on a Saturday evening, book now, before the crowds start to discover this beauty!

Perfect Haute Cuisine Restaurant Perfect View Perfect Service Perfect Ambiance.

I had a wonderful dinner with my husband. The food is delicious and beautiful, mix of flavors and texture combined with the perfect wine pairing and service. Chef Lars greeted all the customers, coming to the tables more than once in the evening. It is for sure one of my favorite Michelin star restaurants in the Netherlands. When we left we got a small bottle of water and a chocolate to go. Details that make a difference. I'll be back soon.

What an incredibly good experience. A continuous feast of taste explosions. To point out a highlight would almost insult another course, but The Green Caviar was truly uniquely good. The friendly owner and chef Lars also took all the time for us and we felt very welcome and at home. What a wonderful evening and we will definitely come back (and we cherish this gem).

Reservamos esta cena un número de meses para celebrar un cumpleaños juntos. Viniendo de Nueva Zelanda no estábamos seguros de qué esperar, pero desde el momento en que caminamos en el personal era amable y acogedor. La comida era impresionante, no pudimos elegir un plato favorito que eran todos excepcionales. Sin duda volveríamos allí si surgiera la oportunidad. Gracias por una gran noche 🥂

The 2nd star is because I know the food is good, but a huge letdown in terms of service. I was a little too quick with my reservation and deposit of 100,- The reservation was scheduled for 6:30 PM, there were all kinds of waiting lists, so I responded (too) quickly. But when I called at 5:40 PM to reschedule the appointment, the only message was, unfortunately for you, it was not possible. For example, I would have liked to go on Sunday and still spend my money here. But I don't have to go here anymore. I understand that a reservation has some value, but an attempt could still be made to keep a guest for another day. And upon inspection it turns out that the spot has probably already been filled again and there are still waiting lists, I don't understand this! The food may be okay, but the service is in any case substandard.

First time in a Michelin restaurant and first time here… we chose the vegetarian menu 6 courses, and WOW! We loved everything literally everything! Compliments to the chef and to the entire team, and we will definitely come back! See you soon! ✨

An evening full of culinary surprises at Lars From start to finish, this menu was a series of surprises – as if each course was a carefully wrapped gift that we could unwrap with great pleasure. The oyster opened the evening with a refined kick of ponzu, after which the halibut with kimchi and lychee completely overwhelmed us. Scallop with caviar and passion fruit? I never thought that combination would work like that, but it was pure magic. The lobster was a masterpiece of flavor balance, while the sweetbreads with white chocolate and pear left us wondering for a moment whether we had ended up with the main course or dessert (and we mean that in the best possible way). The foie gras, creamy and in perfect harmony with the Jerusalem artichoke and blood orange, prepared us for the pièce de résistance: Wagyu. Juicy, full of flavor and subtly accentuated with wasabi – a dish that you never want to end. The team in service? A well-oiled machine, but without the cold precision – rather a smooth interplay of craftsmanship and warmth. Never too present, always there at the right time. An experience that has conquered not only our taste buds, but also our hearts. Rarely have we eaten and been treated so fantastically. Lars, we will be back!

The dishes of our 5-course lunch (Experience menu) were amazing, nothing disappointed. The food presentation was wonderful and the view over the harbor added to the experience. Service was prompt and personal. Alcohol-free wine alternatives worth a try.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. At Christmas we bought 5 boxes and spent a total of 450 euros. We were really looking forward to it. While according to Lars everyone was full of praise, we were very unlucky. Two of the five courses were so salty we couldn't eat them. So our Christmas meal was disappointing and disappointing. But we thought the handling of the complaint about it was even worse. We were offered a voucher of 60 euros in total and that was it. No refund or offer to come and eat a modified menu on site with at least 2 people. Something more in that atmosphere. A little more creativity to solve it would be better suited to a Michelin star restaurant. A credit voucher means even more costs. Because a menu is 130 euros. So do the math. This is too sad for words. When we indicated that our disappointment was even greater now, there was no other gesture. At our request, the 60 euros were transferred to the food bank. And that was possible. I hope the food bank is happy with it. We will not recommend Lars to our friends. Very unfortunate because it could have been very different. Something can go wrong, but be charming with a solution and don't be penny wise pound foolish.

Dinner as a couple, we chose the 6-course menu with a food/wine pairing for my partner. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant with a “relaxed” side which differs from the usual Michelin-starred restaurants. The dishes tasted were very good and certain flavors took us on a journey! We were lucky enough to be able to speak with the chef who was understanding regarding my restrictions and who welcomed us personally, which we really liked. Our experience was however tarnished by a real lack of rhythm throughout the meal... in fact, we stayed at the table for almost 4h15 with a very long wait between our arrival and the serving of our aperitif then the serving of the first course. and at the end between the moment we choose to have extra cheese and the moment it is finally served to us. Finally, I had the unpleasant surprise of finding a piece of plastic in the pre-dessert... it's not pleasant but it happens. Our cocktails were offered to us as an apology. We have very good memories of this moment despite the fact that we found it too long.

LARS gets many things right! We enjoyed a 6-course menu featuring a lot of creative dishes, with the Tom Kha Kai being particularly remarkable and innovative. A standout part of the experience is Lars himself, who personally welcomes you to the restaurant, adding a unique and personal touch. While not every dish fully convinced us taste-wise, the overall experience was excellent, and we had a great evening. Definitely worth a visit!

Lars ja wat moet ik zeggen in 1 woord geweldig elke keer verras je mij. Genieten van alles , eten, bedieningen , de wijnen. Feestje. Dit keer niet het wijn arrangement maar losse flessen (goed advies van Kimberly) met een mooi opbouw en geëindigd met een prachtige Meursault! De kaas met port toe was ook geniaal, vooral de kaas met espresso korst was subliem. Lars was er zelf niet bij de Lunch maar hoe fijn was het om te zien (proeven) dat hij zijn team rustig een keer alleen kan laten want het was echt op niveau!! This restaurant of the gods is absolutely underrated with one star. Last Saturday I was in a three star restaurant and this one is far better. Thank you for this wonderful birthday menu that I was able to experience here in Amsterdam and good luck for the future. An absolute recommendation from me, the taste is amazing🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️

Last night we enjoyed a 6-course menu with accompanying wines. The dishes were surprisingly tasty, as were the beautiful wines. As an extra course we opted for an extensive cheese board with very tasty cheeses. The service was top notch, we were kindly received by the hostess and the waiting staff were also very friendly. All in all a very nice evening and I certainly hope to come back again. The location of the restaurant on the harbor provides a cool view when the sun slowly sets.

I really wish I could give more stars. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, and I've been in some amazing (even 3 Michelin star) restaurants, but this one is top 5 EASILY! Def the best restaurant I've been to this year. Lars is a true Amsterdam born and raised chef, and it shows in his warm character, which took a minute to get used, but made me feel so much more at home in the end. His wife is an amazing host and a "wine knowledge powerhouse!". She took amazing care of all our special menu wishes since my wife is pregnant, which can be a bit of an issue, but everything worked out. Some might think the industrial sight (it's surrounded by big cargo ships in the Amsterdam harbour), but I love the contrast between the delicate dishes and the rugged terrain outside the window. It's one good surprise after the other. A mocktail that's actually good, switch a dish from the set menu? No problem. Great wines by half glas because driving? No problem. Extra amuse? Already done. Little bottle of water and chocolate to take home? Done. If we had to pay double, it would still have been worth it (Don't change it, though). We will be back soon, Lars, official fans now! Thank you and your amazing wife for a lovely evening.

Everything was good. All waiters completely professional. Good wine selections and good food with an Asian-inspired Nordic touch. Special view over the industrial harbour. All in all an interesting place.

We hebben genoten van een fantastische lunch bij Lars. Wat een mooi restaurant op een bijzondere locatie bij de houthavens in Amsterdam. Goed te bereiken en voorzien van voldoende parkeergelegenheid. De ontvangst is hartelijk en ontspannen/informeel. Na een fijne champagne en een paar amuses kozen we voor het Lars exclusive menu. 8 gangen met de favoriete gerechten van Lars over de afgelopen 5 jaar. Allemaal prachtige gerechtjes zoals, oester, kreeft, foie gras, ree etc. Kortom pareltjes! Dat in combinatie met een mooi wijn arrangement, de zeer vriendelijke en attente bediening en de gedreven keuken maakte het een top middag. De open keuken en het uitzicht op de havens maakt het verblijf bij Lars compleet. Een aanrader, we komen zeker terug!

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Lars. What a beautiful restaurant in a special location near the wood harbors in Amsterdam. Easily accessible and with sufficient parking. The welcome is warm and relaxed/informal. After a nice champagne and a few appetizers, we opted for the Lars exclusive menu. 8 courses with Lars' favorite dishes over the past 5 years. All beautiful dishes such as oyster, lobster, foie gras, roe, etc. In short, gems! That in combination with a nice wine arrangement, the very friendly and attentive service and the passionate kitchen made it a great afternoon. The open kitchen and the view of the harbors completes your stay at Lars. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back!

The meal was fine, but unfortunately the wine consumed was included in the bill both as a bottle (which is offered online for 10, in the shop 9.50 per glass VAT) and per glass. We only saw this afterwards at home when we checked the very high bill (400 euros for lunch). I emailed about this, it would be looked into, but even after reminder there was no response or compensation. It was a large amount of money so it was worth pursuing, but it is disappointing that there is no response. The text painted across the door on the ladies' toilet was also rather bland: 'smile you are losing weight'... not something you want to deal with in a starred restaurant.

Great option from the #diningwiththestars in the Netherlands. Was a terrific deal and great suggestions for wine pairings of the dishes. Each course was a great unique experience, having a fusion of seafood, lamb, and variety of fruits and veggies presented in interesting ways. Definitely interested in another multiple course dinner there with some red pairings.

Let me keep this short and sweet. For a 1 Michelin star: Food - Good (not excellent, not very good, not bad. JUST ok to good.) Service - Awful. Not sure how they pulled off a 1 star with such hideous service. They even skipped one of our courses and I had to remind them!!

We had a great night at Lars. The oysters were a standout, but all the food was creative and tasty, and just the right amount. The service was just as good as the food, which is great to see, because even great restaurants these days can struggle to find service staff that are passionate about the experience. The wine pairing was excellent too. The atmosphere was enjoyable too - just the right mix of being upscale, but not too formal. A nice touch was meeting the head chef, he visits all tables from what I can tell, which is really appreciated.

Michelin with a view of...a landfill. Yes Yes. To a canal with a giant landfill. But that's okay. It would be possible to simply arrange tables and chairs so that the guests’ eyes do not rest on it. OK. Atmosphere: We often go to Michelin restaurants and high-end restaurants. The very first thing I really didn’t like was when we were offered to choose a wine for an aperitif and were simply given a closed book, like the Bible, without a single recommendation. And they left. I have a good knowledge of grape varieties and regions, but why haven't I received any recommendations? Waiters: Appearance is a separate issue, but the country is free, like Tel Aviv in the summer parade 🌈 and the brightest waitress was the most pleasant and sweet. I'll close my eyes to everything, she's the only thing I liked there. I don’t know the name either, they didn’t tell me it))) They did not explain or present the dishes to us, like the neighboring tables; there were even problems with the names of some of the ingredients. Ok, maybe their English is worse than mine. But. When I come to Michelin, I want to enjoy the atmosphere and be relaxed, and not look at a twitchy, stoned waitress. Too inappropriate frightening behavior. You need to learn the basic standards: Open hand rule, gait, calm behavior, etc. And that the lid of the newly opened wine should not touch her nose. How did you get the star? I have strong questions. Food. Mediocre. Usually. How can you kill the taste of foie gras - I have no answer. The problem is between the balance of textures and flavors. Butter and bread. I have bad news but these are not Moroccan spices, go to south Jaffa and try the real thing. Shrimp ravioli - this just needs to be taken off the menu. Any Chinese restaurant is much better. Dessert. This misunderstanding in the horn is just disappointing. Are you joking or making fun of me? We weren't even offered Petit four. Even if it’s a separate menu and you have to pay extra. Probably because it was my birthday. And we simply observed its existence among neighboring guests. I didn't expect much from Michelin in Amsterdam. But this is a complete disappointment. I don’t know why we paid 350 euros. There are dozens of places with higher level cuisine, a pleasant atmosphere and where you can get pleasant emotions and delicious food. I highly recommend it.

Lars Amsterdam is really good. The food and drinks are impeccable. Very delicious! The restaurant is really nice. Amazing upscale experience.

The overall experience was below expectations. The service was a bit shaky and everyone was going to the front to pay at the bar which is a bit weird. The cocktails are bad, it would be better to just remove them and have only the wine options. As for the food, it did not impress us at all. The only dish that somewhat stood out was the halibut, nice smooth texture and flavours. On the fois gras and crab I had high expectations and nope, nothing special. The location with the view of the cargo ships, not that beautiful let’s say but it can be seen as on theme with the menu (fish/ seafood). I think there is better is Amsterdam.

Delicious meal on Valentine's Day. Truly spoiled. Great food and service. We will definitely come back.

Ate here for the first time on Saturday February 3. Reception was great, and at the beginning of the evening also sufficient attention from the staff. Towards the end of the evening the intervals became longer and longer (20 minutes +\-) The food all tasted delicious, and despite the small courses we were really satiated at the end of the evening (we did ask for a basket of bread in between) which was a bit of a downer, the morning after a huge stomach ache and constant visits to the toilet for 3 days... (food poisoning, probably from the raw fish sashimi that was doused with some kind of herbal gravy, so I didn't taste anything of that either.

Lieve Lars, wederom hadden wij weer een TOP avond bij jullie. Er is geen betere gelegenheid om onze liefde en huwelijksjubileum te vieren dan bij jullie. Want jullie laten ook zoveel liefde zien, in wat jullie ons voorschotelen. Het begint al bij de binnenkomst, de relaxte ambiance, de feestelijke aankleding (het was Valentijnsdag) en ontspannen ontvangst door jullie team. Dan de heerlijke champagne met amuse guelle, de oesters, het stroopwafeltje. En dan een 7 gangen menu die als een karavaan van smaaksensaties aan ons voorbij trekt. De gnocci, de heilbot, de entrecot, het desssert, een lust voor het oog (oh dat servies!) en de bijpassende wijnen, het bracht ons in een diepe staat van genot en voldoening, vol aandacht voor elkaar en wat we proefden. Eten bij jullie ontroert. Dank voor alle gestes, little table talk en de lieve (ontdeugende) goodiebag. We komen zeker weer terug! Great atmosphere. Top location in a part of Amsterdam that is relatively unknown to me. Delicious food, friendly and spontaneous staff. Lars himself stopped by for a chat. We will definitely go back there again.

Well, what can you say about Lars? Crazy, but really crazy food. Many flavor variations, many beautiful presentations, very nice service, beautiful wines. Simply great. Perhaps the best restaurant in Amsterdam at the moment. It costs a bit, but it's worth it. Already looking forward to the next time, enjoy with a capital G.

Was here for a dinner during Christmas. Had 7 course meal. Vegetarian food options were average. As a person whose appetite is good, food portions were too small for me.

Pessimo ristorante alla 5ª portata della degustazione da 13 portate me ne sono perché era tutto terribile , il servizio di alcuni camerieri è da rabbrividire non sanno comportarsi con i clienti tanto che mi sono sentito dire che puzzavo d’erba , sai com’è siamo ad Amsterdam è pieno di coffee shop cosa ti aspetti .ho dovuto comunque pagare l’intera cena come se l’avessi terminata , il tutto mi sembra ridicolo per un ristorante stellato. Oltre che pessimo piatti pessimo servizio , NON ANDATECI MAI!!!!

Ich war mit meiner Tochter dort essen.Der Empfang war sehr herzlich.Wir haben dort einen wunderschönen unvergesslichen Abend gehabt.Das Menü wurde mit Liebe zum Detail serviert,was sehr köstlich war.Eine tolle Weinkarte!!Zum Kaffee werden leckere Pralinen nach Wahl serviert.Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und liebevoll mit Accessoires dekoriert.Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

We had high hopes and expectations due to one star Michelin and reviews. We were disappointed. The restaurant is a bit out of town located inside MOXY hotel exactly on the water. The chef and his wife welcomed us which was a nice touch. We took the classic and vegetarian menu. Prices are very resealable . and the wine list was good. Unfortunately , the food was mediocre. There was no plate standing out . A couple of dishes were a bit more interesting like the tart but overall it was way below expectation and not up to Michelin standard. I believe he needs to work harder to reach the promise he is making but at this point I would not recommend.
