Great restaurant and amazing wine pairing!

Very creative dishes with great flavors. Enjoyed the laid back vibe. But still with high expertise. I though at first it was a little odd there was no music but it felt nice not having a lot of loud conversations. A very nice time!

One of the best meals we had in Europe and easily the best meal we had in Amsterdam, seriously what a surprise. I may not come back to Amsterdam but if I did I would have to come back here. Service was friendly, attentive and excellent. The menu was priced well and the food was deep, complex and so interesting.

Had an excellent meal, already for the second time in a month. The imaginative chef manages to create a beautiful balance of flavors and textures in his dishes, making every bite a little miracle! The wine list is just as good, with a wide selection including my favorite wine, Barolo. The impeccable service is warm, but not at all intrusive. In short, a place to return to!

We had a delicious meal. It was more than worth the trip. Superb service and beautiful, original dishes with delicious accompanying wines. We had been looking forward to it for weeks and it more than lived up to expectations!

I thought I would enjoy it more. I had read a lot about the place before coming, but the experience didn't really take me anywhere. The waiters didn't seem to fully understand what was being served. It felt like there was a lot of thought and intention behind each dish, but I never really undrstood the story. The flavors were deep and heavy throughout the meal. I kept expecting a fresh, lighter moment to break things up, but it never came. Ironically, my favorite dish was the second one a cup that evoked childhood memories. Unfortunately, no one could explain whether I was supposed to drink it or eat it with a spoon, so I drank it. Everything that followed was less memorable for me. By the time the final course arrived, I was already ready for the meal to end. Too long. Too heavy. That's all.

Very nice restaurant. I tested the menu in 6 steps and I can tell you that it is a real culinary discovery.. the presentation and taste are quite delicate and sophisticated. We feel that the chef puts his heart into cooking as well as the waitresses to present it to you. 4 stars 🌠🌠🌠🌠

What a treat, pure flavors, honest dishes and a top wine list, I will definitely come back here, the pearl of Amsterdam for so long

We had a brilliant evening here for three people. We had pre-booked and paid a deposit and pre-warned we had a vegetarian in the group. On the evening we opted for the eight course tasting menu and were delighted to receive amuse bouche and delicious bread before, and petit fours with coffee after, the meal. The waiting staff were incredibly knowledgeable with the wine list and plated food. The restaurant was well laid out and we were lucky enough to be able to see the kitchen with plating.

We felt very comfortable from the moment we entered the exceptionally cozy restaurant. The welcome was warm and pleasantly relaxed. We felt very well guided in creating our personalized menu, were able to taste excellent wines as part of the wine pairing, and received a wealth of background information on everything. The food itself was simply outstanding. The courses were perfectly coordinated, and the interplay of flavors and textures was delightfully exciting. The fusion of French and Dutch cuisine was, in our opinion, a great success. The portion sizes were also just right, so even a six-course menu wasn't too much.

I highly recommend this restaurant! We tried the tasting menu, and it was truly a great experience - so many different dishes, each thoughtfully prepared and interesting in flavor. The quality of the food was very high, and in many other restaurants you would pay significantly more for this level. The service also deserves a special mention - it was amazing. We felt constant attention to detail and care throughout the entire evening.

Fantastic menu, great wines and unique atmosphere

We had a very good meal! We had 8 courses, flying through the menu. If you are there anyway, I recommend going for the full 8 courses; the portioning for 8 courses was very good! Good dishes and a nice wine list, from the grilled sausage to the Barbera; in short, highly recommended!

Last Sunday we ate: Terrine of dried entrecote, Foam of Cevennes onion, Halibut, Sausage of veal sweetbreads and smoked meat, Polder lamb, Epoisses nue in brioche, Rhubarb and Strawberry panna cotta. We have been visiting this lovely, intimate restaurant with great regularity for the past 15 years. We are still delighted by the delicious dishes, the fine wines, and the fantastic staff.

Good cuisine. The food was fresh and prepared with care. Beautifully presented and also of a generous size. That is quite unique. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. The climate is a point of concern (cold downstairs - warm upstairs), but it must be said it is an old building. The food is the most important thing, and that was simply very good!

I'm coming to The Restaurant for 10 years, I been never disappointed, its rater the opposite. Rogier & Elise are very welcoming and warm Owners. Once you step in it feels like you are part of a journey. Its starts with the welcome, Wine menu and Wine recommendation, Then choices of dishes and the flavors'. We visited Lestage twice in January 2026 and enjoyed fabulous meals both nights. The service was friendly, timed perfectly, and very accommodating for this dairy-free diner. We ate several courses and amuse-bouches (curry flavors = chef's kiss) at each visit with excellent beer and wine options. We stumbled upon this Michelin noted restaurant in our walks around the city and highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I went to Lastage for my birthday. We had a wonderful evening and were surprised by the menu (including a wine pairing for myself). The dishes and wines were delicious. They even included a birthday candle for dessert, which was so sweet! The restaurant has a cozy and relaxed atmosphere and very friendly and approachable service. A true gem in Amsterdam.

Found a hair baked into my food. Was surprised that the only action taken by the restaurant was the waiter apologizing. Not trying to be dramatic but I guess I expected something a little more given it's a 1-star Michelin restaurant. Much of the food was good. It came out over the course of 4 hours which was way too long and we found ourselves bored. Too much time in-between courses. Overall an underwhelming experience. If you're looking for a true Michelin experience I'd recommend elsewhere.

I'm going to tell you about Lastage Restaurant, a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's a place that hasn't lost its star in four years. It's a boutique restaurant that only serves dinner, starting at 6:30 PM. There are four tables inside. Chef La Rogier Van Damme, who makes a living with just four tables, is working with the same enthusiasm as he did on his first day. The place is very small, with an entrance and a mezzanine. Underneath the mezzanine, there's a small kitchen, and only four people are inside. After a hearty conversation and gastronomic discussion with the chef, I ate and reviewed the food. Of course, since this will be a long post, another blog post will be forthcoming. I'll only be discussing the main course here. The chef is Dutch, the venue is Amsterdam, and the cooking technique is French, so it turned out to be a delicious dinner. The handsome deer in the photo has a magnificently delicious medium-rare venison on its saddle. Served on a bed of cavolo nero, pumpkin puree, and poivrade sauce. The tenderness of the meat and the mastery of the cooking are astonishing achievements for this young chef. I wish all the best to our Turkish chefs. This restaurant is far beyond the 5 I've given full marks to in Türkiye, but I consider it a Michelin-Star restaurant when I'm rating it. I had high expectations for this place, having tried some incredible food already during our awesome week in Amsterdam. The place looks cute from the outside and the service was top-notch. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food, which was not at par with the ‘tasting concept.’ A truly disastrous dessert (texture & flavor both wrong) and to top it off an acidic attack at night. Overpriced; underwhelming.

Were here for the second time. Undeniably one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam. Delicious food and great service. Rabbit back with black pudding and lobster was already great, but the main course steak with white asparagus and one of the most delicious sauces ever did it even better. The matching wines made it complete.

Allow me to tell you about my evening at Lastage. I’d made a reservation about two months prior and had some questions so I’d also called twice. Both phone calls were pleasant, staff seemed knowledgeable. I was even more excited. When I arrived I was told it might just be “me” for the evening. This was amazing for me because I like private dining etc…. I was assisted by Kasper and Eileen. Both were very nice and also very knowledgeable about the food and also the wine pairings (I opted for the pairing at appr. €8 per glass)… I’ll keep this review short. Food was amazing, everything was unique and elevated without being too over the top. The wine pairings were excellent as well. I’ll be back in Amsterdam next week and am considering doing another stop here. Thanks to staff and Chef for making my evening here the most amazing dining experience of my life ❤️ cheers from Arizona 🙏🏻

Lugar sencillo pero cómodo con un servicio amable y servicial. Optamos por el menú de cuatro platos que podría organizar a su preferencia. Las ofertas nos parecieron visualmente atractivas, pero los sabores a veces funcionaron y a veces no. Sentimos que Lastage estaba más interesado en luchar por lo inusual que en crear sabores coherentes. Pensamos que era caro en relación con el producto.

When you walk in, the restaurant is narrow but cozy, thanks to the famous old canal-front tax. The staff's hospitality and service were unbeatable. The tasting menu was a very good experience, with a wide variety of dishes... we ended up stuffed.

Esta fue una fantástica comida de primera noche, y una gran manera de pasar nuestro día de San Valentín. Definitivamente es una experiencia - estuvimos allí como 3 . 5 horas disfrutando del servicio increíble, maridaje de vinos, comida sabrosa y en general ambiente cómodo / pintoresco. Cenamos en 5 increíbles lugares de cena de alta calificación mientras estábamos en Amsterdam y esto era de lejos nuestro favorito.

Returned to Lastage after eight years; it is just as memorable as a cosy but quality place to dine. Each dish was an experience and the front staff provided detail and some anecdotes about the dishes, and gave recommendations that were perfect for us in terms of matched wines. The attentive and genial atmosphere makes this a fabulous restaurant to revisit. Thank you for a brilliant night.

Very good restaurant, an original menu, fine dishes that explode in the mouth. I liked the formula, 4, 5 or 6 dishes to choose from. A beautiful wine list and a welcoming and friendly service. The restaurant is small and intimate, you feel comfortable there. We had a great evening.

Last night’s 6 course gastronomic dinner was absolutely superb. Have been going to this restaurant off and on for the last 10+ years and the food has never been better. Can not understand why/how they lost the michelin star as the food/wine/experience last night was 1-2 star level. Nice wine list too and reasonable markups. Love this restaurant, one of my top 5 in Amsterdam.

Fantastic menu & very good food! Everything on our plates was extremely tasty. They had a very nice gluten free bread. Alcohol free beer. An excellent bottle of alcohol free amber wine. The meal was fantastic!

It was my second time in the Restaurant Lastage. It is a really lovely and incredibly cozy Restaurant that deserves a 1 Michelin star. In my last visit a year ago, the food was even close to a 2 star level (especially the red mullet with squid and tomatoes). I can only recommend this restaurant, also the value for money is quite high.

Lastage is such a wonderful place. Close to the station, so you can also enjoy their delicious wines. And then the food.... So incredibly tasty. Rogier always knows how to throw a party. And the service, casual but very professional. I will happily save for next time.

Lastage has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years and still is. Inventive cuisine and great wine list, both reasonably priced (although La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 is overpriced at EUR 135). On 4 September 2024 we had dinner at Lastage and all amuses and dishes were outstanding. It beats me why Lastage does not have a Michelin star.

Everything was great. But before food, five stars go to the staff who are very attentive and friendly. Great service, great explanation about the foods, nothing to complain there... Food was also very good from starters to dessert. I chose five meal course option and it was enough. If you are looking for a fine dining place with a cosy and friendly environment, that's the place you should try. Definitely recommended!

We randomly found this gem. Street was under construction and a working mess, but we noticed it and got the last table of two for the night. The food variety and depth of preparation produced some unbelievable flavors. We had four courses and each was better than the one prior. Highlight of the night was a young chef presenting a preparation to us, not realizing we did not speak Dutch. His explanation was full of commitment and enthusiasm, so we said thank you, enjoyed it tremendously, and then had a good chuckle with the owner who gave us a second explanation. There is a reason they have been around for 14 years. We will be back next trip to Amsterdam.

Originaire du Sud Ouest, nous avons apprécié les copeaux de foie de canard cru accompagnant le fromage. Nous avions choisi la formule en 5 plats, un défilé de saveurs. Notre serveur à tout fait pour nous rendre la soirée agréable en essayant avec son français approximatif de nous expliquer la composition de nos plats. Une belle adresse.

This place was great. Food was delicious. Duck liver not so much, but that is what it is. I had the full flight. I was done at 4 courses, because of the lagniappe. Or something bush.

Lastage is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. World-class cuisine Michelin star a couple who gives a wonderful service, a chef who puts his entire passion and love into his creations.

Excellent food, service and overall experience

We had a 4-course menu. The dishes were creative, tastefully mature and lovingly arranged. The service was very attentive and personal to the guests. The wine pairing was arranged individually. The dining room is small and attractive. There is space for around 10 tables for two. There is only a view of a canal from a few places.

What is there not to love about this fine dining restaurant? The historical canal house is the perfect ambiance, with quaint split levels and high ceilings. The crew is having so much fun building an unforgettable experience for the guests and it shows in their interaction. The maitre has great knowledge of the wine combinations and a good sense of humor. The 'flight through the menu' of 8 courses was divine. No AMEX so ensure you pack your other cards.

An absolutely perfect experience from beginning to end. My father and I indulged in the 8 course chef's tasting dinner. While my father chose to pair each course with a wine recommendation, I opted for a more staggered wine pairing- the server was very creative and accommodating in choosing my wines to go with subsequent courses. One of the best dining experiences I've had, and well worth the cost.

We had dinner at Lastage on February 24. It is a very good yet cozy restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. We drank delicious wine and every dish was a true taste sensation. The quail was head and shoulders above the rest! We enjoyed it so much that we didn't record half of the courses, but I think this is only a good sign :').

Rogier, Elise and the team turn just a night out for dinner into a perfect experience. Delicious, honest dishes for a fair price. Perfect wine pairing. Knowledgeable service who will talk you through the dishes quickly but friendly. We will definitely come back again!

Heerlijk gegeten. Wat opvalt is dat de bediening correct, persoonlijk en informeel is. Daarnaast is het eten in combinatie met de wijnen voortreffelijk. De kwartel is een extra ster waard!. Kortom lekker en leuk, want ze proberen je echt een leuke avond te bezorgen in dit kleinschalige restaurant. (Ca 10 tafeltjes).

The service is friendly, quick and informal in a nice way. Amuses pleasant in the mouth. Nothing outspoken The dishes are classic French. A little bit of pepper in it is nice, but not in half the menu. That should have been better thought out in terms of composition. The Brioche with cheese was not cooked completely properly. That better be a plateau de fromage. A real letdown is the €9.50 for “unlimited water”. For a bill of €330, of which €125 is worth of wine, I don't think it's at all chic to do it this way. If you really need that €9.50, discount it in the menu.

I without hesitation give this restaurant 5 stars. Everything was perfect. The service is impeccable - the waiters put you at ease, are genuinely kind, know their dishes like the back of their hand, and very good suggestions. It's all in the detail, classy without being strict. The cuisine is refined and creative, and made with talent and heart, it shows. We were impacted by our flawless experience. Excellent value for money what's more.

We were here with four people on a Saturday evening and had a really, really good meal. Started with an extra brut bubble (recommended) and then looked through the wine list: sorted by country, and a huge book. There is something for everyone on the menu so you can spend as much as you want. We chose a five-course menu, with some dietary requirements here and there, and this was taken into account. The young man who served was personable, knowledgeable and also pleasant. The wine pairing was generally stunningly good, with the exception of 1 course as far as we were concerned, so that's the only snail I'd like to put salt on. I'm not a fan of desserts myself, but I did it this time and I have no regrets, it was a nice end to a wonderful evening. Definitely go here!

Very good meal, wine arrangement matched particularly well. Fortunately, not those pretentious natural wines that you often have in Amsterdam these days, but just exceptionally good wines. Recommended! Friendly staff too.

Really disappointing food, wife severely allergic to mushrooms, which was stated on booking. Dish arrived with mushrooms, had to be sent back. Mine also had mushrooms, which we requested not to due to any possible contamination. My dishes had mushrooms on several courses. Wife was severely ill when she got back to the room, violently vomiting the whole night with severe pain, we had nothing else the whole day or evening so had to be cross contamination of mushroom, or extract of mushroom. This was supposed to be a special treat for her birthday and totally ruined it. Would have expected a restaurant of this price range to be more diligent with serious issues like allergies.

Wonderful dining experience and my second longest dinner in a restaurant (3hrs). :) My tummy was happy 😊
