Once again, we had a very pleasant stay at Freud, and once again, our compliments go to the chef and the restaurant staff.

We ate here for the first time a month ago, and the food was fantastic, far exceeding our expectations. Unfortunately, yesterday wasn't. The main courses were disappointing. The ravioli was dry, the fish was overcooked, and the potato dish wasn't great, nor was the dessert. The bread was very tasty, though, as were the cream truffles. The coffee was cold.

Superb food and drinks, perfectly cooked and presented. Limited but varied menu choice with vegetarian options. Casual stylish decor. I would highly recommend it.

What a lovely surprise this Restaurant Freud is! This gem is nestled in Amsterdam's charming Spaarndammerbuurt neighborhood. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and authentic, and the kitchen is fast. In short, we'd love to come back!

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal at Freud. We'd never heard of this restaurant before, but we found it through a gift certificate. The food was truly excellent, and compliments to the (I think?) manager and her lovely team. Many of the staff are distanced from the job market, which makes it a wonderful initiative. Fantastic!

As always, we had a wonderful evening (5:00 PM to closing) at Freud. Requests made in advance were honored. Very kind. The food was delicious, as were the drinks. The change of steaks (with different sauces) was compensated for by delicious coffee. Definitely worth repeating!

After spending five days searching for a good place to eat in Amsterdam, I found it. Both the fish soup and the steak tartare were excellent. The Pinot Noir was excellent value for money. I found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. Absolutely recommendable.

When almost all the places needed reservations, i finally found this place a low key place that doesnt. Its 2 minutes walk from my stay. And totally love the service and the food is good as well. Its in a quiet neighborhood so its nice to sit outside too. The menu wasn’t in english but they helped me decide. Friendly staff

By dining at Restaurant Freud, you serve several purposes. One, you eat well. Two, you have plenty of time. You can, if you like, stay until closing time. Three, you help people who haven't been able to work for a while. "People distanced from the labor market," I believe they call it. That's what I'm all about. I just want to look forward to a pleasant evening, receive friendly service, enjoy a good meal, and be in good company. All of that is possible at Freud. The people who work there are fantastic. If you like, they won't just serve you, but you can also just chat with them about what they're experiencing. Unlike in a restaurant where there's a "time slot" on your table. The dining room is also located in a great neighborhood. I always take my international guests to this restaurant. They never forget it. Restaurant Freud is on par with any other Amsterdam restaurant. In fact, you get what you won't get anywhere else: time, fun, humanity, a beautiful menu, and much more.

What a fantastic restaurant! I was in a bit of a hurry because I had to go to a show and I had made a reservation a bit later; no problem at all. They were really very attentive and I was disappointed that I couldn't stay longer. And my steak tartare was really delicious! Next time I will sit here the whole evening, really a nice place!

Cozy location in the cozy Spaarndammerbuurt. We had the trio starter with delicious sourdough bread and salted butter. As a main course the steak with red wine sauce and hand-cut fries. Very tasty. The fish dish was also tasty but very greasy. Lovely atmosphere, nice service. We will definitely come back. Greetings, M&M

We were warmly welcomed, were able to choose a table ourselves, the soup of the day, Thai coconut soup, was particularly tasty. The main course, the pointed cabbage kalio, was also excellent. The service was smooth and friendly and to our surprise we received tea and coffee on the house. In short: we will definitely come back.

We were very pleased that we chose to eat at Restaurant Freud. The food was good and reasonably priced, the service pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere relaxed. The location encouraged us to discover another part of Amsterdam and led us to enjoy the excellent Het Schip museum. The project of which the restaurant is part is a very good one and deserves support. We will return on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Ambiente tranquilo, muy buena comida con un precio ajustado para una ciudad cara como es Amsterdam. El servicio fue atentísimo y eficiente. Pasamos una velada entrañable. Recomiendo 100%. I was looking for a restaurant close to my accommodation in Amsterdam for a family dinner. I booked at the Freud because of the good reviews, and it was a success. Quiet atmosphere, very good food with a fair price for an expensive city like Amsterdam. The service was very attentive and efficient. We had a lovely evening. I recommend 100%. Voor een afscheidsetentje met het bestuur hier gegegeten. Erg lekker. Een goede ambiance. We namen het menu, waar de voorgerechtjes stuk voor stuk heerlijke verrassende combinaties waren. De hoofdgerechten waren óók al zo heerlijk, voor ons zelfs iets te grote porties. Er ging iets mis en dat werd keurig opgelost door de laatste drankjes niet op de rekening te zetten. Heel prettige bediening. Lekkere wijn en biertjes gedronken en ook een goed alcoholvrije alternatief. Bedankt voor de leukeben lekkere avond Freud!

Deze plek is geweldig om als gezin te gaan eten, maar ook met uw bedrijf. Naast dat het eten echt voortreffelijk is met heerlijke friet zijn de wijnen en de dessert wijnen ook voortreffelijk. Ook de bediening is goed en attent en lief. Dit is dus meer dan een aanrader in Amsterdam!

Very charming restaurant in the Spaarndammerbuurt. In an attractive, not too crowded space. We ate three courses, the price-quality ratio of which was very good. The menu is not too broad, but varied. The service is neat and helpful and not too jovial or present.

Lekker gegeten en een vriendelijke bediening. We hadden beide het 2-gangen menu. Een combinatie van voorgerechtjes, overheerlijk! Daarna een groententaartje en voor de ander een steak met saus de paris, salade en frietjes. Alles mooi op temperatuur en een goede hoeveelheid, niet overdreven veel. Als afsluiting voor de een koffie en de ander de kaastaart. Verrassend lekker.

When the weather is nice, a beautiful view of the cozy Spaarndammerstraat in the Westerparkbuurt. Drinks, whether they are coffees or wines, are all of high quality and made with a lot of love and dedication. Meals prepared by top chefs. Recommended, really!

Nice concept of employment. It is a little further away, but it is definitely worth a visit! The staff is friendly and does their best to ensure guests have a good time. Cozy and relaxing to sit, both inside and outside.

Food was consistently delicious... nothing "spectacular," but very enjoyable. Wines, too, were exceptionally drinkable. So good, we came back for a second meal two nights later.

Visited this establishment on my birthday. Relaxed and understated, but boy, the food is exquisitely good. A gem of a place. Highly recommend. The fish soup and sea bass was amazing and my husband loved the steak. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

Food was quite tasty but it took so long to arrive - 50 min - we had to take it with us in a doggy bag and eat it cold after the theatre performance we had to get to. The "salad" was just a pile of lettuce leaves. Not worth the bother. Arrived approx 18.20, left at 20.00.

Krokante aubergine met pompoenpuree/knolselderijsteak en als dessert 'eton mess' (meringue/slagroom)/madeleine met bloedsinaasappelijs waren heerlijk! Vlotte, vriendelijke en correcte bediening. We blijven terugkomen!
