L'Azzurro in Centrum

Unfortunately, we had a particularly bad experience with this restaurant. When paying via Visa card, we were told that the payment had failed. Therefore, we paid using a debit card with PIN. Upon returning home, we discovered that the Visa payment via Klarna had indeed gone through, meaning we had paid twice. We sent the restaurant proof of this (the transaction statements) for both the bank account and the debits on the Visa card. The restaurant kept insisting that they had not received the payment and that we should take this up with Klarna. In short, we were strung along, as it was abundantly clear that we were right. We eventually took it up with Klarna, and they corrected it. It is very sad that the restaurant doesn't just handle this fairly. They are simply hoping that you won't chase it up, and then they pocket the extra money: in short, simply theft. The food was quite okay, and we might well have returned or been able to promote the restaurant. But due to this incident, that is obviously no longer an option! If I could give 0 stars for the service, I would. Here are the screenshots, which speak for themselves. So everyone, be warned.

As other reviews also mention, you need to be very careful at this restaurant. When paying, we were told that the payment had supposedly failed and asked if we wanted to pay using another method. Afterwards, it turned out that we had paid the same amount twice as a result. We proved this via WhatsApp using screenshots, but they insisted at every turn that the amount from the first payment had not been received. We were told to take it up with the payment service behind our Visa card. They immediately acknowledged that the payment had actually gone through and rectified the situation, but we couldn't count on the restaurant. They would have preferred to simply keep the double-paid money if we hadn't pursued it further. That is simply a scam and is completely at odds with the Italian customer service and hospitality we are used to (we have Italian acquaintances ourselves, after all). Furthermore, the service at this restaurant was somewhat rushed and purely business-like. The food was okay, but that is about all there is to say. We certainly will not be returning here, nor will we be spreading the word or recommending it to others! There are plenty of other restaurants where you get value for money, but L'Azzurro in Eindhoven is definitely not the place to go for that.

Had a delicious meal tonight. A young waiter who is going to make it in the hospitality industry. This waiter listened and made you feel like a valued guest. The food was delicious. Beautifully garnished Parma ham and delicious risotto finished with fine olive oil. And the bill was reasonable, because that wasn't important as we were wonderfully spoiled. A competitor for Dommelstraat.

Just a quick response and a thank you for a lovely evening. We went out for dinner to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The food was perfect: ossobuco del maestro and saltim bocca ala romana. For dessert, a grand dame blanche with a sparkler fountain, the music turned up a bit, an Italian love song, and applause from everyone present. The hostess knows what service plus is. We will definitely be back to discover the rest of the menu.

L'Azzurro is a fantastic Italian restaurant with a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The pizzas and pastas are absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. A wonderful place to enjoy great Italian food and warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

We had a table reserved, but we arrived early—no problem! We ordered some food, and it was delicious. We didn't have to wait long 👌 The atmosphere and staff were friendly, and it was a nice touch to receive a small shot of limoncello after paying 🙂 I recommend 👍

The service was fine, but I found the food mediocre. The bruschetta was delicious, but the dessert consisted mainly of a lot of whipped cream and sweet sauces that tasted like bottled sauce from the supermarket. We won't be going back a second time.

The main dish I ordered was risotto with shrimps, but as seen on the attached photo, it looks more like a dish that should be called rice and shrimps. But what's worse is the fact that none of the shrimps were peeled, so all intestins were visible. The caprese salad was really cold, but the taste was ok.

The food is top-notch and is undoubtedly the restaurant's strength. The service provided by the younger staff is professional, attentive, and exemplary (hence the 4-star rating). However, the behavior of an older gentleman, presumably the owner, is insistent and pushy. His management style leaves a noticeable negative impact on the atmosphere and detracts from the overall experience. He took our glasses from the table even though two of our three glasses were still full and our bottle was still a quarter full. During checkout, he repeatedly and very explicitly insisted on cash payment. When we indicated we wanted to pay by card, we were again prompted to pay (partially) in cash. This behavior raises questions and is perceived as unpleasant and inappropriate.

Cute atmosphere and excellent customer service. Dishes were a bit salty for my taste and not as tasty as other italia in the area.

We came here with a friend and it started fine as we had our starters. It came as it should be and it was good. Then we literally waited for 1 hour for the main course. Ofc it was during peak times etc BUT, we asked one of the waitresses and first he said we have no order. When said we ordered pasta and pizza then he said we have to wait as restaurant is full. But another 20mins nothing…. We asked another waiter and he said we have no order.Finally we decided to leave and they said ohh wait, we forgot but we are busy on it now… Total disappointment. Food was OK but attitude NOK…. Mistakes can happen but just saying sorry we forgot, it will take x amount of time shouldn’t be that difficult

The service is extremely bad. We ordered a simple pizza and pasta and we waited over 40 minutes while all the tables around that came after us got their food before we did. We asked the waiters and they were super rude and kept saying just wait in such a rude manner and that the restaurant was full so we should wait. We waited 10 more minutes, other tables got their food and we still didnt. It was quite obvious they forgot our order, I got up to leave and saw the chef has just started preparing our food. He said “see its in the oven, just wait 5 minutes”. If they had apologized and handled it nicely it would have been okay, but their rudeness made the whole experience a negative one. Food is just average, not bad but definitely not great.

It was called a restaurant, so we went there for dinner. First, the highlights: The company was very pleasant, as was the conversation and the chosen attire. Lovely! Then the key points. You don't act like a jovial Italian host; you either are or act normal. If the meal takes two hours, you come to the table, explain everything, and then say that oh-so-difficult word... "sorry." Five pennes is quite a bit for a meal, salt isn't an unlimited element, and saying "beer" doesn't mean serving it. I have a thousand other things to do, oh yeah, peeing and then trying to aim in the dark after three seconds. But aside from all that... keep it up!

Had a nice meal: tagliatelle pollo. Too bad only 2 desserts, except for the whipped cream, were lactose-free. I don't think they are really into diets. But the staff was great. We sat outside on the terrace in front of the door. Every now and then a car drives by, which is not disturbing.

The food was ok. But it wasn't a highlight. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there with a large group of around 40 people and the service had everything under control. All in all we were satisfied.

We ordered food here... Don't expect a 5 star meal, but for the price of everything compared to what we get it's just a shame. Ordered lamb chops: €27 Do we get lamb/goat meat? That the grill has been touched for 1 second and then boiled in water. Soft, well-cooked/fried. Rubbery. Anyway then you will think you are not a meat restaurant so that's fine. Can't be your specialty. But then we ordered pasta and it was so tasteless, dry and just too expensive for what you get. Vegetables are not seasoned and potatoes were raw. Just thrown on the fire. We didn't eat ANY of this. Even the dog spit out the meat. See photos! Unfortunately not a lie.

The predicted price and menu at The Fork of this restaurant are wrong. The actual price is higher but it is worth it. But if you go for steaks like we do, this is not a steak restaurant. And if you expect 30 euros and it is 40, that is still a lot more (30%) than you thought. They can't make up for that. Oh, the restaurant has a bad atmosphere, a bit of a Sopranos you get your last meal before your last ride vibe. But good quality food and well prepared!!

Ordered food for the first time yesterday. The taste of the food was nothing special. As a surprise, both had a stomach flu a few hours later. Not for me anymore unfortunately

Really uneducated staff, they act like garbage.Go somewhere else.

The space is quite small, and there are just too many tables. The staff is busy, stressed and unfriendly. The atmosphere is therefore not relaxed. A group of 16 guys also came and virtually took over the restaurant. They were loud and very dominant. It's ridiculous that such a small restaurant allows such a large group in. The food was very tasty, but you will never see us here again.

Went here for dinner today and was completely chased away by the staff. For example, the dessert menu is given and you can't even read it yet. Every minute another employee comes to ask if you already know. In addition, there were more reservations than room, which caused a line at the door and left you eating completely in the cold. Reported and not taken seriously by the staff. Food was very good, but I will never come here again! They will definitely lose a customer after today.

What a fantastic experience. It was a lovely atmosphere and staff were very friendly and helpful. They also offered to adapt every item on the menu to a gluten free variant including the pizza and pasta, there were few exclusions. Fantastic value for money would definitely recommend it.

We have been to this place multiple times with friends. This is really an amazing place for Italian food. The owner is a very friendly guy and he keeps the atmosphere very chill. The location is also very central so everything is very nearby in case there's a need. You can try coming to this place as a couple, family or with friends.

The food was tasty, not very special but tasty and affordable. Staff were helpful and drinks were requested regularly. Later that evening I had the feeling that the boss had drunk too much or was excited, there were two beautiful ladies and they started dancing, music playing loudly and then he tried to persuade the ladies again to start dancing, music even harder... Wasn't fun, once, fun, but not anymore. We didn't have a coffee after dessert, we just went to the Trafalgar pub......

Very friendly service. Decor not very attractive. On the wall hangs a mishmash of paintings, tambourine, clock, etc. But we come for dinner, so it's not relevant. The bruschetta tastes good, filetto al Pepe is well prepared. However, there are three wedges of potato and two slices of zucchini and carrot. This is really not enough for an adult. The cannelloni has no taste. The pasta has a special taste and the minced meat is barely seasoned. Not recommended. The tiramisu lacks amaretto or any other liqueur but tasted great.

Unfortunately we had to move the table for our starter. That was a thing for us once, but never again. Minestrone soup was very bland and left alone. I didn't like the carpaccio and my husband ate it. The pizza and spaghetti carbonara were delicious and so was the dessert. A noisy noisy atmosphere. Friendly staff but not really able to provide immediate solutions. Like we would get a free drink because we had to move. The waiter came last when we had paid to offer a free drink. That was too late. No more coming here for us. That was the first but also last time.

Staying in Enidehoven for the week, whilst enjoying the night culture we came across a warm and welcoming place. Expectations were high, we were welcomed and were made comfortable straight away. Order bruschetta and the caprese salad, fresh and delicious! For mains, my partner ordered a pizza and myself a rib eye steak. The pizza, great quality and was a delight, I wish I could say this for the steak. It was tough, the burnt taste of the grill over powering, vegetables undercooked or burnt. I told the waiter, did not seemed concerned offered to take it back, which I said I would try. The reasoning, we waiting apx 30 mins for the mains (steak defrosting), did not want to make my partner wait whilst they prepared another steak. When they came to take the main dishes away, I then told the manager the issues, no apology offered. I ve eaten steaks in plenty of Italian restaurants, this was disappointing and not what you expect. For desert we shared a cheesecake, this wasn’t the best. When it was time to pay the bill, the waiter came over, again no apology, no Italian charm of sweats or a free shot that the other tables around us were offered. To my disbelief, they had charged full price for the steak 35e, (barely eaten) which coming from a hospitality background, as you can imagine I questioned. The response, ‘you ate it’, I pushed back politely, to which they reduced the price too 20e, I wasn’t going to argue, I just wanted to leave. In short, resturant has all the potential, but service was awful, I did not return during my stay, a quick search there are many other Italian restaurants in the area which we tried and throughly enjoyed, Quick search and you will find them too ;) . The staff need too respect the customer and appreciate honest feedback on the food, worst Italian restaurant experience to date.

Ordered the vegetarian calzone got the normal one with ham instead. Don’t know if what happened but with vegetarian orders they should be more careful.

We made our reservation via the website with a very quick email response as confirmation. Friendly and helpful We could choose from two tables. After delicious bread with herb butter came the starter. We didn't have to wait long for it. The fish soup ordered was a large portion, generously filled and tasted good, but a bit salty. As a main course, salmon fillet in Grand Marnier cream sauce. The salmon was cooked well, but the cream sauce was very salty and tasted no trace of Grand-Marnier. That was a disappointment. All in all, friendly service, but with the salt jar they could be a little less generous. Hopefully a snapshot and it's normally better. We will certainly do that.

Everything other than the risotto was average or better than average. Risotto wasn’t very good because it was too watery. The tiramisu however was indeed very very good- probably one of the best I’ve ever eaten- I highly recommend trying it out before leaving the restaurant.

We werden goed ontvangen en kregen een sfeervol plekje toegewezen. De gezellige Italiaanse muziek gaf een goede sfeer. De menukaart was heel uitgebreid dus voor iedereen iets te kiezen. We hebben genoten van het lekkere eten en de huiswijn. Het toetje was heel uitgebreid en super lekker. En dan nog afsluiten met een limoncello van het huis. Wij hebben een hele fijne avond gehad.

Very delicious food. Plenty to even store for another day. Pasta seasoned nicely and has big chunks of yummy salmon in it. Calamari tasted great with the provided lemon slice and sauce. Tiramisu taste homemade and is not overly sweet. The service for ordering delivery was great. They provided me generously with the stuff that i have requested. Will order here again!

Wij zijn hier gaan eten, omdat we een DinerCadeau gekregen hadden. Om 17.00 uur kwamen we binnen en werden we meteen op onze wenken bediend. Niets was teveel en we hebben genoten van de liter karaf rode huiswijn. Het brood met kruidenboter smaakte ons goed. We bestelden beide de minestronesoep. Het duurde een half uur voor deze gereserveerd werd. Na een luide berisping door de eigenaar naar de open keuken, kregen we de soep. Deze was echter totaal niet op smaak. We eten zelf niet erg zout, maar deze soep smaakte letterlijk naar kokend water met groenten. De hoeveelheid was wel goed! Als hoofdgerecht bestelden we de ossenhaas en de mixed grill. Beide gerechten waren subliem! Al het vlees was perfect gebakken. Ik koos voor “rare”, wat vaak niet goed nageleefd wordt. Mijn vlees was superrood en wel warm van binnen en gegrild van buiten. Perfect! Meteen mijn complimenten doorgegeven aan het personeel. De mixed grill had ook veel variatie. Het bord lag echt vol. Wat wel tegenviel, is dat er op beide borden maar 3 aardappelen lagen en 6 stukjes groente. Hier hadden we meer van verwacht. In de tussentijd liep het restaurant vol. De eigenaar leek bijzonder veel stress te ervaren; er leek geen capaciteit te zijn voor hetgeen dat ze wilden bieden als restaurant. Sommige tafels hebben een uur moeten wachten op hun bestelde eten. Ondertussen hoorde je de eigenaar af en toe schreeuwen tegen het personeel. Niet fijn! Wij hebben tot slot nog een ijsdessert en tiramisu besteld. De desserts waren voortreffelijk. Wij hebben echter geen limoncello van het huis gehad, hier verheugden we ons wel op na alle recensies. Al met al komen wij hier niet snel meer terug. Wij zijn van mening dat er beter georganiseerde en minder stressvolle plaatsen zijn om te gaan eten.

Enjoyed an absolutely wonderful dinner here when I visited this city. There's nothing bad I can't say about the appetizer, the main course, or the staff that served me. The only thing that does raise questions is the dessert price, but that's relatively minor, and doesn't hurt my overall experience.

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten, een echte aanrader, heerlijke Italiaanse gerechten met een zeer ruime keuze op het menu. Top en gezellige bediening. Wil je lekker en Italiaans eten, moet je hier echt eens naar toe gaan. Wehebben hier met ons vieren heerlijk gegeten.

I haven't had much of the food there, but what I had was ok enough, but way too salty. The food could have been much better. The service though really depens on who is woking. The first time we went there, the waitress was very nice. Friendly, helpul. So we decided to come back a while later, it was the other woman working. Not at all the same experience. Even though it was not busy at all. Only 2 more tables were occupied. Have not been there since.

Ik kom hier nu al bijna een jaar met heel veel plezier. Het eten is altijd heerlijk, de service is super en het personeel is zo ontzettend vriendelijk. Er is altijd een plekje en je kan heerlijk een avond uit en genieten. Ik raad het dan ook zeker aan!!

Heerlijk gegeten, veel keuze tegen een mooie prijs en vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Ondanks dat het er allemaal netjes en verzorgd uitzag misten we iets aan de sfeer in het restaurant. Kunnen niet precies zeggen wat, maar voelde niet italiaans aan. Desondanks toch een fijne gezellige avond gehad en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Tasty calamari, good pomodori soup. Didn’t really like the sauce that came with the calamari, since it wasn’t garlicky. Pizza salami was nice, with cut salami instead of whole slices so it’s better distributed onto your pizza. The 4 cheese pasta was tasty, but heavy. It was with gorgonzola. Service was polite and fast. It was pretty cosy inside. I’d go back. It’s a very cheap place tho and the portions are big enough.
