Had a delicious meal! It has a great atmosphere and the service was top-notch. So if you want to eat delicious Italian food, go to Trattoria Mangiare when you are in Eindhoven.

Get rid of that bad staff! Can't even lay out cutlery properly!

We opted for seafood dishes and pizza. It was a very enjoyable, delicious, and satisfying dinner. The service was good.

I have always been a fan of this place. I’ve visited many times and have recommended this restaurant to several people, both for leisure and business. Unfortunately, tonight’s experience was very disappointing. We had a reservation for 20:30. At around 20:40, the waiter/manager/owner (I’m not sure of his role) came to our table and, in a very unfriendly way, told us that we needed to hurry with our order because the kitchen closes at 21:00 and that we should order as soon as possible. The problem was that we hadn’t even been given a menu yet. When we asked for the menus, they were placed on the table in rude way, which made the interaction even more unpleasant. I also don’t think it is reasonable to expect customers to know that the kitchen closes at 21:00 when Google clearly states that the restaurant closes at 23:30. To make it eve more confusing, the restaurant’s Instagram profile says that the kitchen closes at 21:30 and the restaurant 00:00. If the information isn’t matching across the restaurant’s own social channels, how customers will know? The food itself was good, but the customer experience tonight was unfortunately bad. As someone who has always enjoyed this restaurant and recommended it to others hundreds of times, I am not planning to be back.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good, and even though it was busy, you hardly noticed it, and good service with friendly staff. I will definitely come back here.

We really enjoyed it and it's a nice place for a date! The homemade desserts were the highlight of the evening ❤️ I can recommend the tiramisu and the passion fruit cheesecake :)

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. We ordered drinks, starters and mains. The starters arrived, but our drinks were forgotten and only came after we reminded the staff. We then waited close to two hours for our main courses. We asked about them during the wait, but they still didn’t arrive. Eventually, after finishing our starters and two rounds of drinks, we were full and simply asked for the bill and said we no longer wanted the mains. We were told the food was “literally coming now,” but at that point it was simply too late. The dishes were brought out anyway and offered free of charge, which we declined because we genuinely didn’t want to eat anymore. The waiter apologized and offered to get the manager, which I declined. We weren’t looking for an argument or compensation at that point — we just wanted to leave. We paid for everything we had consumed and left. I appreciate the apology and the attempt to make things right at the end, but forgetting the drinks and then having guests wait nearly two hours for their mains made the overall experience very disappointing.

Restaurant Review (English) I came to Eindhoven to meet friends and visited this restaurant based on good recommendations. As someone who dines out nearly 360 days a year, regularly eating across Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam, I was genuinely disappointed with my experience here. The bruschettas were decent, nothing out of the ordinary. However, the rest of our food — the pasta and sea bass — tasted fairly mediocre. Perhaps Eindhoven simply lacks great‑quality restaurants, which explains this place’s over‑hyped reputation. The service, unfortunately, was really poor!! I rarely criticise restaurant service, yet this time I cannot hold back. Our waitress smiled warmly towards the two neighbouring tables, yet her expression turned cold and her attitude unpleasant when dealing with us. The server who brought out our food did the same: he gave a detailed explanation of the bruschettas to other guests, while for us he just set the plates down hastily and rushed away. I fully understand they were busy with a full house. I did not even mind waiting an hour for our main courses, as we were happy to chat in the meantime. But differential treatment like this is completely unacceptable. I do not wish to jump to conclusions, yet this behaviour strongly raises suspicions of racial bias. Overall, it was a highly unpleasant dining experience.

Had a lovely evening with delicious dishes, the Italian man who served us was also very friendly. We will definitely come back.

We had a table in the garden, which was rather cold for the time of year. The garden does not have any heaters either various people around us moved to a different place because of that. Also, the service was below our expectations. I requested the wine list two times, however, was pointed at the wine by the glass at a different menu. Also, we were never offered to the dessert menu after our main courses were finished significant missed opportunity for this restaurant. The food however, was very well prepared tasteful, and the only reason for me to return.

We come here about once every six months. Usually, it is our 'best of the rest' choice. We love an extensive lunch, but we usually skip this restaurant because of the small tables. However, last Sunday we decided to try again to get a slightly larger table, and if not, we would have a less extensive lunch. When we arrived at the restaurant, we asked the head of service for a larger table, but that was not possible. Despite the fact that there were many larger tables available, we had to sit at one of those miserably small tables. Okay, we respected that, but it also meant a less extensive lunch and no nice red wine from the wine list! The strange thing was that we were seated at a table and immediately had the lunch menu placed in front of us, but the waiter in question walked away immediately without asking us what we wanted to drink. Around the same time, a couple sat down at a larger table and were asked if there were two of them. They said that more guests were arriving and were allowed to stay seated. They were immediately asked for a drink. After being ignored for 5 minutes, I approached an English-speaking waiter to ask if we could order a drink. My wife asked for sparkling water, and I asked which nice red wines they reserved by the glass (because when you order at Pino, he always has nice alternatives if you don't order a bottle). I was directed to the bar menu without a word and chose the best of the three less-than-good red wines. By then, the couple next to us had already ordered their food, and it was only for 2 people. So, no other guests had arrived, and they didn't ask about that either. Very strange and annoying for us! It took an eternity again for our drinks to arrive, during which my wife immediately received a large bottle of S. Pellegrino. So that went back, because that wasn't what my wife had ordered. My wife ordered her (less elaborate) lunch, which was a chicken panini. She had eaten that often when we couldn't have a full meal, and she was satisfied again. I ordered Pizza Parma Ham myself. The description listed San Daniele ham and cherry tomatoes, among other things. Now, these are two different types of ham. The Parma ham is somewhat nutty and a bit saltier, while the San Daniele is sweeter and milder in flavor. I was in the mood for Parma ham, but I neglected to ask further, as I thought that if the name of the dish is Pizza Parma Ham, then that is what you will get. But no, I got the San Daniele ham. Quite strange for a restaurant that has been preaching for over 20 years that it serves authentic Italian recipes. I could write more comments, but I will limit myself to just one more. About ten ice-cold and unprocessed cherry tomatoes were served on the pizza. That was strange and didn't fit. If they had been at room temperature, I think it would have been a reasonable combination. But the most annoying thing remained the extremely indifferent waiter who clearly wasn't interested. Too bad we had lunch here!

There were four of us, and we sat outside at the back. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty. The only point for improvement was the sea bass main course. The sea bass was very small and very dry. This was resolved by replacing it with a new one. This one was slightly less dry but was not prepared well either. That could be better. Otherwise, we had a wonderful evening.

The food was good and the staff was friendly, but I thought it was a shame that we were served warm/hot glasses and that we had to ask for ice cubes in our drinks twice while it was 36 degrees outside. The drinks themselves were not ice-cold either.

Our meal was very good. Just a minor criticism (a little nitpick): we could have asked. The carpaccio was missing pepper and salt. And a little more olive oil... The truffle mayonnaise wasn't to my personal taste, but that's just my opinion. Then the spaghetti vongole arrived, and wow! 👌 We'll definitely come back when we're in the area, and next time we'll ask for pepper, salt, and olive oil with the appetizer. 😉

Lovely restaurant on nice street with tucked away terrace in the back. Sitting in the back was so nice on a summer evening I felt like I was in Italy. It was quite busy when we arrived but service was pretty quick and friendly. We enjoyed the lasagna and margarita pizza but the nduja pizza was far too spicy but that is personal taste. Can definitely recommend and would return.

Without wishing or being able to judge any individual member of the entire staff: without the unsurpassable maître de café/Trattoria named Pino, this establishment is simply mediocre. We had a delicious meal and the back terrace was surprisingly nice. Very cozy. The young lady who served us had a great sense of humor and served us very well. The waiting time was a tad on the long side, but drink orders were being taken constantly. As long as that isn't a commercial gimmick, there's nothing wrong with it.

Overbooked, had to wait for the reservation, and when the food finally arrived, it was the wrong order as well. Because I was so hungry, I just accepted it. Ordering a drink also took too long; I had to ask multiple times and eventually got two because there was no communication between the servers.

It was busy, but the service wasn't top-notch. Ordered meat without cheese, repeated this twice. And yet it was served with cheese. With the meat main course, there were only a few lettuce leaves. Nothing else at all. The table wasn't set and wasn't set until after the starter was served. There was no cutlery with the main course either. The food was tasty and it was a nice restaurant, but for that price, you would expect better service.

We had a delicious meal with 5 people. We sat comfortably in the middle of the atmospheric garden; despite the hot weather, it was very pleasant here. The staff was very friendly and took the time for a chat. The bruschettas, tomato soup, pastas, and pizza were all delicious.

We have been here a number of times by now, and we keep coming back. Whether you sit down for an extensive lunch or come for a cozy dinner, it is *always* good. The food is incredibly tasty and super fresh (today's lunch was a bullseye again). Add to that the cozy atmosphere and the incredibly hospitable service, and you have found your favorite Italian restaurant. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely, atmospheric evening here with delicious food. Still, a few stars deducted. In our party, we consumed various bottles of wine, including prosecco; all bottles were brought to the table opened. That is, of course, unacceptable, especially since bottles were being ceremoniously opened at the table nearby. Clearly, regular customers or friends of the owner were seated there. Furthermore, we had two identical dishes where the difference in the portion size of meat (veal cheek) was extremely large. That should not leave the kitchen in that state. And also: young and inexperienced staff are fine, but they really need better instruction; they just stand in a corner waiting and have no idea that the water has run out or if other service is required.

A wonderful start to the holidays. Even though we are not going to Italy on holiday this year, we certainly started the vacation wonderfully in true Italian style.

We came as two for lunch and we were very nicely placed at our table by one server. We ordered Pizza and Pasta and it was quite decent/nice. However the only thing we didn't enjoy was there was an Italian server/owner I assume who kept on talking loudly and warmly only to exclusive guests, he cleared our table without even asking how it was and while doing so loudly still talked to the people on another table interrupting our conversation. We felt the warm behavior was very selective to certain "clientele" coming in, while rest were just given a pretty basic service. It felt very segregating.

Very nice patio to enjoy my dinner. Delightfully busy. Food was good but some might say expensive. I still haven’t calibrated the pricing here.

We had a lovely time sitting in the garden. There is a good atmosphere and the food was delicious. For the main course, I had ravioli filled with mushrooms and truffle with a Marsala sauce, and for dessert, the tiramisu. Both were very tasty.

Waiter was very nice but looks like they are understaffed and there is not enough attention per table. Not once we were asked if we wanted to drink something else. We had to ask for the dessert menu we had to ask for the bill

The pizzas are really delicious, and we sat in the back of the restaurant where there were a few fans, so that helped a little with the heat during this heat wave. However, the tables are very close together; I was basically right up against the table of another couple, which was uncomfortable, especially when the waitress brought their plate, which was practically right on top of us. The drinks are also very small, a coke and a beer that were just over 200 ml each seemed way too small to me, and there wasn’t even any ice in my coke glass, which also made my drink get warm very quickly.

The food was really delicious. A downside was that the starter and main course were not served at the same time. There were three of us, and there was at least a 5-minute gap before we all received our dishes. And the red wine was simply warm.

Great pizza and pasta! The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. We came with a baby, and they did everything they could to make us feel comfortable.

Lunch and dinner are always good, one of the better places on the Kleineberg in Eindhoven.

The quality of the food is excellent! but the soup starter was lukewarm and I had the pasta aglio e olio and found it quite salty. The soup, the pasta, and the pizza (my dining companion's) did look well-presented.

I genuinely enjoyed the meal, but I don't think the price-quality ratio is right.

We sat down at a table for two, we ordered two glasses of tap water. Then after we already ordered the tap water, they asked us to move tables with another couple because of the dog, and we of course said yes and moved, adjusting ourselves to their liking. Then the lady came to us which asked to move and asked if we have our drinks ready and we said yes can we have some tap water. She said “what else? We can’t only give you tap water” mind you we are about to order our food as well??? Tap water is free?? What kind of a stupid rule is this I’m extremely frustrated at the service. I find this “rule” which the previous waitress didn’t even apply, rude and disrespectful.

Wonderful food. Attentive staff. Just completely lovely!

Everything is tip-top. If I may mention one point regarding the pizza tono, the toppings could be a bit more subtle; you get full quickly and the pizza itself then fades into the background a bit.
