We had such a great experience at Le Début! The food was superb and the service was amazing… well done to all those young people tonight ; they were truly professional and we really enjoyed our dinner.

We had a beautiful and memorable evening at Le Debut. We knew the restaurant was run by the students of the school who asked for “patience” but it was honestly not required! They were all charming, passionate and capable and the food was all delicious. Great value along with the drinks and a great cocktail aperitif to start! Will be back!

The restaurant is completely managed by the students - I was really impressed by the quality of the meal and the service! Food was really tasty and with great combinations and the waitresses were describing each plate in a detailed way and friendly in their small chats. Icing on the cake, the price is really really competitive for Amsterdam standards. Definitely recommended!

This is the restaurant of the local hospitality school, so the staff are all students at the school at different stages. That said, this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time! If you like fine dining this is an absolute must do experience in Amsterdam, and you are literally helping the industry improve by allowing these students to get their feet wet at your (very reasonable) expense!

Super enthusiastic students serving and cooking. Service is better than most other places in Amsterdam. Courses look great. Some little errors here and there but price value ratio is great.

Such a wonderful night! Can’t recommend enough

In the last week before the summer holidays, two of us enjoyed dinner at Le Debut. The students had a new concept: the cycle of life. Fresh vegetables from our own garden and cooking with an eye for the environment. Compliments to the kitchen brigade and thanks for a pleasant and successful evening. Highly recommended for everyone in the area

Excellent hospitality, surprising dishes, good combinations with wines (Saké was a very good idea!!) and extremely good quality of the food. We were most impressed by the sauces and dressings and were glad we ordered a coffee because of de baby Guinness that was served with it. We can give you only one suggestion: The haddock/schelvis (main course) would have been beter combined with the Kleine Zalze chardonnay instead of the white wine of the Fratelli Dorigati. The Dorigati wine was too bland. We hope to visit Le Début soon!

Found thanks to Google reviews and it really didn't dissapoint! Excellent food done to perfection. You may want to check the set menu beforehand in case not to your taste, but all dishes were done to a very high standard. Wine pairings were a joy and staff worked very hard, a credit to the school. Price was a pleasant surprise, I'd have expected to pay a lot more for the standard of food and service, the experience may vary through the term i guess, but I'd definitely take the gamble again as we both left very happy!

Ate here for the first time. We were treated like real guests. The food was so beautifully prepared and the dishes were true taste sensations. Our hostess did a really good job. We enjoyed it so much that we will definitely come back again.

29/1/24 What a gift this restaurant is. This time an Italian menu put together by a third-year student with matching wines. First-year students work in the service and kitchen under the supervision of Joris. Super organised, fantastic welcome, beautifully laid tables, delicious food; a price quality that you will not find anywhere. The tip goes to a good cause. This time we were served by Rosa in particular and she was also the sommelier. It turned out to be her first time; complete disbelief from us. She is so good and that clearly says something about the level of teaching. We would love to come back again soon. Compliments to all! —— 13/3/23 And I've been back again. In a word: sublime! Beautiful location to “help” students by eating there. They serve, host and advise like the best! They attach great importance to quality. You eat star quality food for a great price. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff lives/works there and puts their knowledge into practice. We really enjoyed it. The matching wine pairing and cocktail pairing are highly recommended. There was a theme to which everything was aligned. Music, smell, food, wine. Beautiful! Give these students a wonderful evening by having dinner there. Our price included wine and table water.

Restaurant of the hotel school where the students serve and cook. Charming concept, tasty food and very modestly priced. We actually go there every year and we always find it very pleasant.

Wir hatten einen unfassbar schönen Abend. Hier zeigen junge und motivierte Menschen was sie Können und was sie alles gelernt haben. Das Menü war einfach nur traumhaft. Jeder hat dort alles gegeben. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis war unschlagbar. Das Menü wechselt übrigens jede Woche. Absoluter Tipp den ich jedem nur ans Herz legen kann dieses Konzept hier zu unterstützen. Wir wünschen allen Auszubildenden und Studenten alles erdenklich Gute für die Zukunft. Ihr macht das super ❤️

Although everyone is a student, service is very professional, friendly and helpful. Particularly the chefs who do their utmost best to work around allergies to give you the most delightful experience. If you are looking for an affordable high level dinner experience, this is the place to be.
