One of the best hot chocolates I've ever had! The prices are a bit higher, but the quality is top-notch and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Highly recommended.

I know Lebkov & Sons in Leiden for years, but unfortunately my recent visits have been disappointing. Over my last three visits, I’ve noticed a clear drop in quality while prices have continued to rise. My last visit summed it up: a chai latte and an egg/avocado sandwich for €14.20, yet both were mehhh. Drinks that used to be a delight.. matcha latte, chai, and even the fresh lemonades and teas, now taste insipid and bland, nowhere near the level they were years ago. I’m not sure if this is a cost-cutting trend, poor trained/unexperienced staff?? or just bad luck at this location, but it’s enough for me to move on. Time for something new, real chai, and better matcha :)

As others say this shop is very overpriced for the slow service and small portions. But the reason for my 1 star is because of the service. We ordered a medium mocha and a medium cappuccino, which should’ve come to €10.70 according to their board, however the server charged us €11.90!! When we looked at the receipt it seems she had charged us for a ‘hot chocolate with extra espresso’, even though a mocha exists on their menu. We asked for the extra money back, and were told it was not their policy to do chargebacks even though they admitted they were the ones who made the mistake?? We were then told it would be corrected in their system at the end of the day, but it’s now been over 24h and no money has been returned back to me. I know it’s only a very small amount, but it’s the principle. Will absolutely not be going here again. At least their coffees had lovely latte art. Saw the reply from the cafe - I am absolutely aware what constitutes a mocha, I have ordered it from there (and other spots) before :))) one of ur staff also looked at the bill when we raised it and agreed that was where the mistake had come from btw ! but unfortunately you did not make it right and refund me at the time, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this review over ✨€1.20✨ maybe u should spend more time training up ur staff so they are more confident on the tills instead of patronising people on reviews hahaha. our girl was initially not aware you even sold a mocha, someone else working had to correct her. she also initially put our order through wrong as just a hot chocolate as she couldn’t find the mocha button on the till, and thus had to put the transaction through again as she had initially undercharged us (and yet she still somehow got it wrong lol). Is it really true that you can’t refund people on the spot for an overcharge, or did you just say it to get rid of us as you thought we wouldn’t make a fuss over such a small amount of money? xx

Insanely slow. Inefficient, even when it wasn't really busy, I had to wait more than 10 minutes twice, and then I simply didn't get my coffee because my train was leaving.

Get the tastiest flat white (for the train) here! A fresh slice of banana bread on the side gets my trip off to a perfect start!

Never again!! I come every morning for banana bread, chocolate rolls, and coffee. But today is the last time. There's a woman there who can't help customers properly. She cuts the banana bread incorrectly without gloves, and it's not the first time. She throws the stuff at me and my coffee in a To-Go cup, even though I told her twice that I didn't want a cartoon cup. Yet she still puts the coffee down and says she doesn't have a double espresso cup!

Ordered a latte and a tuna melt sandwich after parking outside. A few years ago I had this habit that if I ever dropped someone off at the station I’d treat myself to breakfast to go. Normally they’d be able to get it done well before the 10 minute parking timer runs out. This time, after 20 minutes I asked how much longer the sandwich is going to take… Turns out all 4 of them simply forgot about it. I had to leave immediately as I saw a few cops on bikes just outside the station, and I didn’t want to risk getting breakfast for 14eu + a 75eu fine. Just hope they didn’t write me up otherwise I’d have paid 90 for a latte. For what it’s worth… The coffee was fine, but don’t visit this place if you’re in a rush

I have been coming here for a long time, but this location has gone downhill. The iced lattes are always filled with chunky milk and the employees are rude. Today, one placed a cappuccino on the counter for someone to grab and she then called the order a few times. Got mad that no one came and claimed it right away and proceeded to to say “okay anyone can take it.” As someone who works in the horeca industry, this is unacceptable behavior and I have never experienced customer service like this at other Lebkov locations.

I’m disappointed with the sandwich they make as well. I can agree with Jayesh's comment earlier. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was not good. Bread not toasted and the whole sandwich was dry. Chicken sausage from supermarket and a sour sauce. Carrot soup ok, but cold. Two items 15,45€. Not again, thx.

I was really looking forward to Lebkov's iced matcha latte, but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The flavor wasn't quite balanced and came out a bit flat.

Used to be a nice, friendly place. Now it's not so clean inside, and the iced coffee is really bad. Service? Figure it out yourself.

€4.95 for a small decaf cappuccino!! No cookie. And not particularly tasty or frothy. At the best competitor in Leiden, you pay €3.95 and it's served with a homemade cookie, a bowl of chocolate beans, and a small glass of water.

I can describe myself as a critical person when it comes to food and breakfast. By the way, I discovered "Lebkov & Sons" via the Thuisbezorgd website. As for the delivery costs, it is striking, 4.99 euros Leiden CS <=> Katwijk. On top of that, there is also a nonsense "Service Fee" of max 1.99 euros. Home delivery will never work for these costs. When I was recently in "Leiden Centraal" I walked in but at that moment not everything was in stock. By the way, warm meals are higher on my list of preferences.

Price/quality skew here! A dry sandwich for ten bucks that you can get better somewhere else and a disappointing coffee. A nice sunny terrace though.

You're better off with a sandwich from the ah. You pay top price for a dry sandwich. When you go, order a glass of milk so you can take it away!

Fine to pay for good coffee, but for the small cup/cup you get it is out of proportion. Lady behind the counter has never learned to say please or thank you and just puts the orders down. Then it is up to the customers to find out what is for whom. The terrace and layout of the business is nice and you can sit in the sun.

Don’t get your coffee over Here. Terrible service. The girls are not paying attention. They give you the wrong order. When the customer is trying to communicate.. they pretend they can’t hear you. Next time I will record this and upload it ;)

I had a cappuccino and a sandwich, while my friend had a banana cookie and a hot chocolate. Both of our drinks did not meet the so-called café standard. The hot chocolate quantity was small, and the sandwich was bland.

Unfortunately, some employees serve excessively small portions of the Banana bread and Lemon cake. Comments about this are met with an unpleasant response. As a daily customer I find this disappointing. Excellent quality, but the service and portion size really need to improve.​​​​​​​

A year ago I left a five star review for this place, because the coffee tasted great. Now its down to two stars, the foam on the milk was much too thick and the coffee tasted dry, bitter and a burnt. The ginger cookie still tasted good but not as good as it once was. Kitchen didn't look very tidy. I would have given three stars, if it weren't for the high prices they charge.

Poor in almoat every sense, serving, uncomfy chairs ... definitely a wrong choice for working or anything like that.

Picked up such a meager sandwich that I feel like I've been ripped off. €9.50 for spicy chicken sandwich. In other words, 2 slices of casino bread, a little cheese and a slice of chicken fillet. Had very different expectations. It is not without reason that the toasted sandwiches and sandwiches come in a sealed bag, so you don't know what you are buying. Get your lunch somewhere else!

It was a great cafe but very crowded in the weekend.

Ordered 2 coffees. Got a latte while I think I ordered a flat white. According to the young lady, I really ordered a latte. Fine, but I don't drink that. She paid for it and immediately threw it away while she was watching and apparently she was okay with that. Service could be better and prices are Swiss.

Coffee not well prepared and service incredibly bad. Takes 8 minutes to prepare a coffee; I made a remark and they replied with rage saying it's peak hour - take some ownership. You have multiple people working there at a time.

Unfortunately not what it used to be. Coffee is tasty, but very expensive (13.20 for a Latte and a simple sandwich), almost always a long wait. The sandwich had been in the refrigerator for a while, cold and soggy (like the pre-packed sandwiches at a gas station). Shame!

Scanty food consisting of plain bread with a small amount of toppings in the sandwich maker. Unfortunately we were unable to put the cheese on the sandwich, so we had to wait another 10 minutes for a simple sandwich. Coffee much too hot, a lot hotter than the lukewarm soup served.

Bought lunch here yesterday, lots of people that seemed good sign. Ordered three sandwiches, with three medium coffee and one water. Because sandwiches are packaged opaquely, you can't see what you're buying, but everything sounded promising on the menu. What a disappointment and that for 44 euros! Sandwiches extremely dry, little filling on just average bread. So dry that the three of us only ate stuffing and bread in the trash. Nice coffee, yes.

I only had coffee, strong and very good. Payment by card only. Pleasant environment.

Lebkov's sandwiches were always delicious. But what a letdown, they only use very soggy bread and also charge a hefty price. What a pity that is!

Helaas hadden wij 1.5 uur tevoren een bestelling gedaan om het om 17.45 te laten bezorgen (5 min van de plek vandaan). Na 30 minuten was het er nog steeds niet en kregen wij geen gehoor als we belden naar de locatie. Ook mailcontact werd niet op geantwoord. Wij zijn er naar toe moeten gaan (na 1 uur) om ons geld terug te krijgen omdat ze over onze bestelling heen hadden gekeken (dit bleek toen we er waren). Helaas zijn ze ons niet tegenmoet gekomen door bijvoorbeeld het geven van een voucher.

Very nice place at the back of Leiden Central station.. friendly staff and everything looks fresh and fresh! I personally had the basil-tomato soup. This was very tasty and you could taste that it was freshly made. Personally, I thought the taste was a bit bland and some extra herbs or vegetables could have been added. As for prices, everything is quite expensive and this place is no exception. On average you pay between 6-12 euros for a sandwich or soup. I personally thought it was a bit on the expensive side for a simple soup, but at the same time there is such a thing as price-quality and this place tries to meet that, so it wasn't too bad.

Nice tent, you know. Sympathetic staff. Isn't the problem. Only €6.75 for a bite of stale bread with a scrap of topping... We don't call that lunch, we call that theft...

I have nothing to complain about the service, but what prices! You now pay €4.90 for a medium latte here. I know specialty cafes that don't even dare to charge those kinds of prices.

Oops! What a mistake to get a coffee here. Too bad about my money and my good mood. I see two options: you maintain the current high prices and invest in the service and motivation of the staff, or the coffee becomes at least one euro per cup cheaper and the employees can continue their disinterested and unloving way of working. Two stars, because the coffee was ok and I still see potential.

Several people waiting to order, girl who works there is preparing an order. Guy (employee) walks in assuming from the kitchen sees it’s busy, then helps a customer who wants some cake - proceeds to cut the cake without following any haccp rules..and then goes back to the kitchen knowing the girl is busy lol.

Ik bestelde een guiche en deze was koud en zompig. Ik bestelde een verse muntthee en daar deden ze zonder te vragen er kaneel bij (staat op het bord zo, zei ze. Vervolgens staat 1 van de medewerkers achter de counter klanten te helpen in een dun doorzichtig ondergoed hempje zonder bh waar alles te zien was en erdoorheen prikte. Op haar ellebogen leunde ze daarna voorover om haar klanten te woord te staan. Ik kom hier niet meer. Heb alles in de vuilnisbak gegooid.

Spicy chicken sandwich is actually just a sandwich here for 9.25. You don't expect a chicken breast sandwich with a spicy chicken sandwich. Staff not really helpful or friendly and way too expensive. If you serve a grilled cheese as a sandwich, add ketchup to ease the pain, but that's not included either.

Currently they have a matcha that tastes like nothing and adds no green to the latte, so you are paying 6 eur to drink hot milk basically

4 euros 85 for a medium coffee where I specifically indicated that Americano was too watery for me so I got filter coffee but you could see through it, it was so watery, it looked like tea. I left it and caught my train, which was really crying. Worst 5 euros ever spent.

Leuke locatie in Leiden. Personeel niet vriendelijk (ook niet onaardig). Special Pittige Kip besteld. €9,50 voor betaald dus daar verwacht je wat van. Dan krijg je een tosti met kaas en een plakje kip met een beetje saus ertussen. Gevraagd of het wel de goede bestelling was en werd bevestigd. Schaam jullie!

Went on Sunday April 7 at 2 p.m. with five people for something to eat and drink. The order was taken by a lady who clearly did not feel like working. She was very grumpy and snapped at us. When someone asked what “americano” meant, she said: “That comes from that machine!”. Point. That was the explanation. Given her hostile attitude, we decided against ordering food as well. Finding a seat was difficult because the tables were dirty. When leaving the store, two people were waiting at the counter while the lady was clearly visible behind the counter eating. There was no one else on staff.

We came for the açaí bowl on purpose, because we would get homemade peanut butter crumbs on top of it. We got a half-full bowl with açaí and granola for 10 euros each. No peanut butter crumbs, no other toppings. Inside it is cold and without atmosphere. Service was not bad. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here again.

What was once a really good business for delicious lunch 'sandwiches' for a normal price has become disproportionately expensive for the same product. In itself a great sandwich, but with a much thinner filling, but half a club sandwich for 9.25 euros is really bizarrely expensive. Too bad and very disappointing.

Had a quick stop for an iced drinks as the sun was so beautiful today. Even though Lebkov is right next to the station, the terrace is very cute to sit in the sun and hang out. Very nice quality matcha! A bit on the pricey side

I went here on a Wednesday morning and it was very nice and lively! The staff attending us was really friendly. The food looked really good, although I have not tried anything yet. We only ordered two drinks: fresh ginger tea and a chai latte. It is also a nice and central location as it is right outside of Leiden Central Station. I would come back to try one of their baked goods! :)

Coffee excellent (which is also acceptable for that price!), toilet downright filthy! Remote control. Interior, oh well, you have to like it.

Disappointed and overpriced. I ordered a Hot sandwich with chicken and cheese and hot sauce, which turned out to be a toasted sandwich with cheap simple bread, thin slice of chicken fillet and thin slice of cheese with red sauce. This costs €10.00!!!!! Way too expensive for what you get, I felt cheated but had already paid for it.

Customer of Lebkov for years, but have noticed for a while that the quality has drastically decreased and the price has risen sharply. Before Covid there was a permanent crew working at Lebkov who knew how to make consistently good coffee, unfortunately these people are gone and with it the quality. If you want to buy coffee here, it is expensive, but really expensive. Sometimes the coffee is too milky, or lukewarm or too hot. For that price I just expect good coffee, including cup! then about the sandwiches, the price has also risen considerably and absolutely not in price-quality ratio, I mean a cheese sandwich, 1.5 slices of bread with some cheese that feels incredibly cold, as if you have a dead rat in your hands. Furthermore, the bread is also tasteless and hard. This is really done, you won't see me here anymore. Fortunately, there are plenty of options around the station.

The food is quite good, but it is cold, noisy, without atmosphere and everything is way too expensive. A place to avoid. The atmosphere can best be described as a combination of a construction site, a temporary location of a Soviet school and a prison. The latter is further reinforced by the idiotic choice for the plates and cups, which could have been taken one by one from an old state prison

Aardige plek voor mensen die genieten van een gesealed pakketje met 2 witte boterhammen en wat beleg voor prijzen varierend van 7 tot 11 euro of een kop koffie van een eurie of 5. Wachttijdtussen de 10 en 15 minuten. Bediening veelal door middelmatige 20 jarige hipster dames die liever discussieren of je beter haver- en/of tammr geitenmelk kunt drinken voordat je naar VY (VeganYoga) fietst op je van Moofff...

Delicious coffee, tea, juices, sandwiches and sweet treats. Everything looks neat and tidy and attractively displayed. Smooth and friendly service. A 'own' ambiance. Great atmosphere. Goat cheese sandwich generously filled. Very tasty in combination with the apple syrup. Pink cake and lemon poppyseed cake are delicious! Nice base next to the station.

Most meager lunch ever. Apparently nothing is made after 14 hours, so you can only choose from the leftovers. For €8.25 you get exactly one and a half slices of dry bread, decorated with a spoonful of tapenade and exactly 2 slices of chicken fillet that seemed to come straight from Aldi. So much for the "smoked chicken sandwich".

Great staff; excellent coffee. But a terrible choice for quality, serving size, and price. Major issues: Far too expensive for basic sandwiches, etc. Lowest current price for a so-called Club-style BLT is €6,50 -- a ready-made wrapped in paper 1/4 of an actual Club Sandwich!!! Due to sitting at the counter in a paper wrapping it is dry and not recommended. That's merely one example of the over-priced sandwich offerings. For the same price at virtually any restaurant or takeout you get fries, etc. Here you get the sandwich; period. Baked goods are over-priced, but far better than the foods. Only went here once. Never again -- except for coffee and/or bakery item (muffin, etc.) It's basically a Tourist-Waiting-For-A-Train or Bus joint. Not recommended at all. The reality is, you are literally 100 feet away from a healthy meal and beverages (or fast-foods) inside the train station. Options in adequate servings for the same prices (for example: Julia's Place, a quality Italian food within minutes). I do not understand how this Lebkov place stays in business?

A year ago I gave 2 stars. Now I would like to give 0 stars. The employee insisted on speaking English, even though I spoke Dutch very clearly. The juice tasted as if it had been heavily diluted with water. The metal cutlery (cup and plate) just looks horrible and was full of stains. The tables were all dirty. The toilet was dirtier than ever before. I've definitely learned my lesson. I'll never come here again. You can spare yourself the excuses: "it was too busy". Those are unacceptable.

The sandwiches are really an embarrassment. 3 half slices of bread with a little topping in between. With a coffee or juice 15 euros per person. Drinks fine. Bread no. Price quality is not OK

A fuire ...boîte à fric ...! vous mangez une petite salade a 9eur..! Moche et sans gout et un thé a 5.50 euros...! Un jus dorange a 6 euros...! Il vous faut au moins 3 rations pour être rassasié... vous payez 20euro et vous n'avez rien mangé..? Nous étions 5 faites le calcul... Les lieux sont moches et le personnel ne veut pas travailler là... cerise sur le gateau... ma femme m'a fait part de toilettes sales... cela manque clairement d'un patron qui doit être occuper à vendre ailleurs... cela semble être une petite chaîne nous ne sommes pas pressé de découvrir les autres cafétéria....

Heerlijk eten met vooral vegetarische opties! Service is absoluut geweldig, toen mijn favoriete sandwich op was werd er aangeboden eentje extra te maken voor mij. Wat een toppers achter de toonbank en in de keuken! Absolute aanrader voor een gezellige en gezonde lunch, en het onbijt is ook spic en span!

I love their coffee and their banana bread. The decoration is cute and it is noce place to chill or work. Sandwiches are overpriced but the main issue is how SLOW they are. There is nothing on earth that justifies to take over 5minutes to make a coffee when it is not even busy. Real shame

Het is een studente zaal met goed eten en drinken ik vond het een beetje duur. Broodje en 1 koffie 10.00 euro maar ja alles wordt duurder.

Hello Lebkov & Sons Leiden, it is now 5 months since my last review. You promised to move to porcelain dishes in the coming year. Any progress as of yet? Original post below: Prima koffie en gebak, maar echt jammer dat alles met wegwerp bekers en borden geserveerd wordt, ook als je daar blijft je consumpties nuttigt. Staat zelfs "recycle me" op de bekers, maar nergens een recycling bak te vinden. #greenwashing

Een medium americano voor maar liefst 3,95 die ook nog eens zuur is, nee de volgende koffie haal ik ergens anders.

Good and healthy snacks. A lot of options for vegetarians. The coffee is good and the smoothies are also a delight. The staff is friendly and the place has a nice, cozy atmosphere. It is located just outside Leiden Centraal on the west side. Really well positioned.
