A small cozy Indian restaurant where we ended up last minute. Actually wanted to go somewhere else in this cozy street until our eye fell on this one. We both chose the small rice table and that was more than enough. Delicious food, refined flavors and very fresh. We found it strange that it was not that busy. Cheerful and friendly staff. Fast kitchen and therefore did not have to wait that long. Definitely recommended

We ordered the small rice table and the authentic Indonesian flavors emerged with every dish. It is a small intimate restaurant with a quiet atmosphere. The service is very friendly with a personal approach. If you like good Indonesian food, this is highly recommended.

We ordered take-away for 10 people, so we each ordered a single meal. It was more than plenty, got some 'kroepoek' and had a nice talk with the owner while waiting for our order with a free drink. Tasted very good! Even for us as asians.

Wow, the three plus months of five star reviews for this place sure didn’t foretell our less than pleasant experience tonight! We were seated at a two top table next to an identical table where (we found out later from them) that party was ten or fifteen minutes into the wait for their food after ordering. Our order was taken promptly and our wait began. It turned out that we waited eighty minutes (yes, over an hour) for our food to arrive. Thus, the one star for service. Our neighbors had waited about the same length of time for their food to arrive but when it did, it was a completely wrong order. The server promised to bring them the right order in ‘ten minutes’ but after twenty minutes they gave up, paid for their drinks and headed to a different restaurant. While our food was what we ordered and was tasty, we won’t be back.

The nasi goreng was delicious and refined. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is great. The latter partly because of a group of young people from Jakarta who came to celebrate Indonesian independence 79 years ago. That was enjoying their happy songs and beautiful conversations. Super!

I know that there are some review that it was slow, but we did not experience any slow service! All is well and perfect👍 We ordered Ayam Bumbu Bali, Tumis, Pepes, and Lontong Rames. It was satisfactory! The bumbu Bali chicken was amazing! Spicy level was perfect. Not only that, the satay and sauce were legit. Recommend for the Indonesian 🔥🔥🔥

I had a delightful dining experience at Lemon Grass! The rice table dishes were exceptionally good, bursting with flavors that left a lasting impression. Sate, all of the chicken dishes, pepes ikan are really amazing! Nasi goreng has a smoky wok hay flavour and it is really authentic Indonesian style ☺️, totally different with chinese style nasi goreng. The ambiance was cozy, jazz music and the service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic and delicious Indonesian cuisine!

Great atmosphere during King's Day

A truly Indonesian eatery with Indonesian customs. The employees were nice and helpful. But mostly busy and arranging everything, but nothing was achieved. The food was good but not really hot. Supplement due to another visit to the restaurant. Now I saw why the dishes arrive cold on the table. Dishes come from the kitchen (upstairs via elevator) and are placed on the bar. Then move to a table where the spoons are changed on the dishes. Are then put back on the bar. A glass of wine is poured and served for another table. Short discussion with colleague during which the notepad is consulted. (empty) plates are placed on the table. Hot plates are placed on the table. Then the dishes are placed on the table.

A small and simple Indonesian restaurant in Amstelven. Nice decoration without great pretensions. Only one person serving, very friendly. Good food . Typical Indonesian. Not haute cuisine. If you are in Amstelven, you fancy a relaxed and slightly spicy dinner, this is the place. We ordered a tapas type menu for two. And beers. It's not cheap, maybe ordering a la carte would be better. One negative thing, I would have to take care of some details of the restaurant such as the bathroom.

Hele slechte prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Voor veel geld gegeten met zijn tweeën. €95,= voor een rijsttafel en twee drankjes p/p in een snackbarachtige omgeving. Het was heel koud, de kachel stond uit. Ook het eten was koud en moest in de magnetron opnieuw opgewarmd worden. De kwaliteit van het eten was ook niet goed. De kipsate smaakte of deze uit een plastic zakje kwam en opgewarmd was in de magnetron. Slechte kwaliteit eten. Al met al een hele slechte ervaring. We gaan er niet nog een keer heen.

Excellent Indonesian rice table for not too much money. Rijsttafel is always too much, so if you go with four people, three rice tables will be enough. Very friendly service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. It can be extremely busy on weekends, but nevertheless the service remained good. I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Indonesian food.

good food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere. You can hear everyone at a table of 8 people without shouting or being distracted by other sounds or smells. They do use fried onions as standard on almost all dishes. Therefore, be careful when ordering gluten-free dishes.

After several telephone attempts (6x) to make a reservation...eventually someone on the phone. Made an appointment for 4 people. On the day and time of reservation the business turned out to be closed....No counter message was received...now I called again...no excuse...no...we are closed!!t Will never come here again...we can't even talk about bad service here...just rude...no service at all!!!

A friend of ours called the same day. 22.06.23 Thursday to make a reservation for 4 people at 6pm. But unfortunately we arrive to a closed door, no announcements as to why the restaurant was closed. You just have to call yourself to ask why the restaurant was closed. I think it's very bad service. Unfortunately I have to say: I will never come to LemonGrass again.

Vanavond uit wezen eten in dit restaurant. Wat een afknapper. Laat ik beginnen met het eten. De ingrediënten waren overduidelijk niet vers en van slechte kwaliteit. Het was gewoon een opgewarmd prakkie, meer niet. Er zat zelfs een bedorven ei bij. Dan de service. Tja, die was er eigenlijk niet. Er liep één serveerster, maar die heeft alleen achter de bar op haar telefoon zitten kijken. Ze is nul keer komen vragen of we iets te drinken wilden en of alles naar wens was. In plaats daarvan had ze wel alle tijd om voor zichzelf heel ruimschoots wijn in te schenken en die zelf op te drinken. Nee niet bepaald een aanrader. Voor ons in elk geval nooit meer.

Went out for dinner at this restaurant tonight. What a letdown. Let me start with the food. The ingredients were clearly not fresh and of poor quality. It was just a reheated mess, nothing more. There was even a rotten egg. Then the service. Well, there actually wasn't one. There was one waitress, but she was only looking at her phone behind the bar. She came to ask zero times if we wanted something to drink and if everything was okay. Instead, she had plenty of time to pour herself plenty of wine and drink it herself. No, not exactly recommended. At least never again for us.

Chose to eat here when staying nearby. Never had an Indonesian before but the menu had English and restaurant had tables. Staff were immediately friendly and the food was excellent. Good value too as lots of food.

Finally had real Indonesian food again. Gurih / Tasteful. Lemom Grass is a small but intimate restaurant. The owner is from Jakarta and is very friendly and personable. We ordered from the small rice table, each a different dish. As a starter, 1x Pangsit (5 pieces) for us together, but there were 6 pieces on the plate. My Nasi Kuning was served in a bowl plus the various dishes served separately on a large plate, tasted excellent. My partner took Nasi Lemon grass. Nasi goreng with meat, fried fried egg on top plus sateh. Also tasty and the satay sauce tastes like it does here. We will definitely come back here.

Misschien wel de slechtste Indonesische maaltijd ever. Garnalen waren smakeloos en gortdroog. De groenten werden geserveerd in een flauwe sojasaus, hadden deels de juiste bite en waren deels heel zacht. Mogelijk doordat een deel voor een 2x is opgewarmd? M’n positieve ervaring van jaren geleden is vandaag wel weggevaagd, helaas.

The satay lamb was not tasty. Soto soup tasteless, with rames special we received 1 satay while it says 2 satays. Even the atjar was inedible. NEVER AGAIN

After waiting for an hour on the terrace for our order, it was finally delivered to the table as a takeaway order. Mistake, can happen and made it clear that we wanted to eat at our table (where we had already had some drinks and had been sitting for an hour, but ok). After waiting another 20 minutes, I walked inside to ask about the status of the order. Answer: 'yes, we don't fully understand it ourselves' and we had to make do with that. Rarely have I felt treated so rudely!

Very tasty food and great service, although a bit pricey.

We had ordered from here before and were satisfied, although delivery seemed to take longer and longer. However, after the last order, that satisfaction is completely over. Called after waiting for over an hour, but there was simply no answer. Wondering if we will ever see the money again, but this was the last order anyway.

Do not deliver, open website while they are "apparently" closed, unreachable by phone.

Every good Indonesian restaurant has satay kambing on the menu, and here too. Delicious food, everything prepared with care. My mother had Laksa, wonderfully fragrant. The satay was very tasty (with lontong is my favorite) and the side dishes were also very tasty. My sister had Pangit and afterwards Tjendol, very tasty. The owner grew up in Jakarta and so did my mother, so that was also an immediate connection.

We had the rice table but it was not so surprisingly tasty. Very slow service. We waited almost an hour for foods to serve. Big portion of every dishes

Bami, nasi, rending and chicken satay were super dry. You don't get vegetables on the €16 and €18.50 menu. In addition, they had forgotten a bowl of noodles and a bowl of nasi. To top it all off, they had on their own settled the rissoles that had run out with the bacon biscuit that I had ordered. Whether I wanted to pay €1 at the door because that was the difference between the spekkoek and the rissoles. For the people who give this a good review, I would say: you are not used to good Indonesian food!

Ordered today (delivery at 5:45 PM) and after waiting half an hour (6:15 PM) called: yes, we have not received your order, although we did receive a confirmation by email. Called several times and hung up several times. They are very rude on the phone and I hope they have the courtesy and professionalism to refund our amount. => We will never order from here again.

The tastiest Indian food without any fuss!

You'll definitely want to eat it once a week!

Last weekend I bought Bami Goreng Special & 1 bowl of satay with 4 skewers to eat at home. We no longer take the satay skewers. The meat had been on the grill too long and was not tasty. Therefore only 4 stars. The noodles with beef and chicken were delicious. The satay sticks made up for that. It was very busy in the small shop. Very pleasant, the service neatly wore a face mask. We will definitely come back there again.

Rarely have I eaten and been treated so poorly. My friend's portion was so small that he had to eat something afterwards and my food consisted mainly of rice and noodles, while the menu said it also contained vegetables... You won't go out of your way for rice, noodles and satay sauce on top to eat. When paying, all dishes were more expensive than stated on the menu, without this being communicated in advance. Not so nice, don't come there anymore.

Great flavour of Indonesian food .. we asked for Sambal Terasi and they made it for us that instant plus plenty of kerupuk and emping which was a blessing after a week trip around europe. I like the Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado. So tasty.

There was a group of five of us that went to this restaurant recently. We found the rijstafel to be very good with a large number of dishes with a variety of meat and vegetable choices as well as some fish. Pleasant experience with the staff and tasty food in general. Recommend trying out for your own taste.

A cozy Restaurant, quiet atmosphere... but especially a Nasi goreng Lemon Grass with Sate and Atjar ketimun accompanied by a Jazz Beat music was heaven on earth... in other words "I'll be Back.."
